(REQ) Video HD2 - HD2 General

You can avoid that videos recorded with the HD2 vertically not seen in the PC rotated by 90 degrees?
Thank you in advance!

Its better to record in H position with HD2.
I don't think there is any method to rotate the video without editing it.

Screen Rotation in Vista?

I was wondering if there was a way to rotate the screen 90 degrees while in vista. If it could be rotated that woul be asier to use it as slate with touchscreen/pen input.
I tried looking thru the display setting and the intel graphic software but no luck.
The screen orientation settiings are in Control Panel, Tablet PC settings, Display tab. However in this case it only offers Primary Landscape.
Screen rotation controls should also be in the Windows Mobility Center in control panel, but are missing. Looks like HTC deliberately removed the option.
You could try this -

thanks for the idea.. I gave it try but the software crashes when you try rotate the screen. I will have to keep looking.
G-sensor
So Why is in device manager G-SENSOR ?
I think is it Gravity sensor determining rotation of screen.
Then should be able automatic rotate screen.
As is it on some digital photo cameras......
The G sensor is for the HDD I believe.

Ah, now you know why I gave it such a positive review . But isn't that why it comes with Shag Control?

if dutty ports his newest rom to x1 then we can have landscape manilla ASAP.. but as far as i know dutty is the only one with the files and has his rom protected so ppl cant easily get the files.
I think i don't get it. I've installed it and no new icon in start menu. Then i found HTC_Album.exe in windows folder and started it. That worked but I didn't get the point. How do I change the displayed folder and what is the purpose of the software anyway?
yes. it replaces original album app.
i did not put shortcut in programs folder as most has album installed, and it would be 2 shortcuts or none depending on language in rom then
the shortcut is in win. dir for thoose who want it.
But I can't even zoom a picture. You are required to use the zoom slider on Diamond 2 / Touch Pro 2 which we don't have on X1.
Also, I can't browse through the pictures while in full screen using touch gestures. It's prety useless then?

Try using BsBTweaks - that works on the album for me.
Hello
Just tried using BSBTweaks. Added the HTCalbum app to it as it states. Soft reset and no difference. Photos still do not rotate in the HTC album. Any ideaa would be appreciated.
Thanks

Ah - photos won't rotate. They're always shown the same as when they were taken. If you set rotation for this with BSB, it does it for the album application, not the photo viewer.
I've not seen anything for the photo viewer, but I'm sure there'll be someone who can help.
Ok mate thanks for your help. I shall post a new topic and see who gets back to me with some info.

It's the way the newer version of album are coded. You could try to find an old version of Album that did not have that behavior (though they may be all VGA packages since they're OLD). I don't know if any WVGA devices ever had that functionality. I think they were Album 2.x and the new way of doing it (landscape) started with Album 3.x, but I can't really remember.
edit - just saw you're porting it, so the vga packages should be ok. Look for an Raphael or Diamond ROM and dump that. They should have Album 2.x and should stay in portrait.
Thanks for your kind help.
But I find there's a setting for portraite mode in viewing images in the xml file. So I am wandering if there's a way to set it to portraite mode using register or something.
I have searched the forum and found someone encount the same problem, but I cant find a solution.
Do I have to change back to album v2?

Unless you can re-write HTC's code in album.exe, I would think yes. I've attached a version I think works in portrait all of the time. It's VGA and has the facebook/youtube upload in it (I think, been awhile since I used it on a VGA device...).

I used to think there's something in register can change it.
Thanks,I'd like to try it.
that works with 3.0 album. you may try this on yours.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum]
"best_fit"=dword:00000000

this is the package in my kitchen. I cooked for Diamond. Are you sure you set best_fit to "0" not to "1"?
I didnt test it on HD2, because i like the fullscreen view there..

Yes, I add what you give me to the register file of album.
But nothing happend. When viewing photos in fullscreen, the controls appeare in landscape mode.
The setting changes slidshow or fullscreen?
Did you try this?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCAlbum]
"rotate"=dword:00000001
Change it to zero in the .reg of HTC Album package.
To easy probably.
