Hi -- My keyboard keeps popping up when I don't want it to especially in third party programs. Is there a software to prevent this? I tried a registry fix, but then I cannot use the keyboard at all. All I want is that it should not suddenly pop up in some programs (like ListPro) when I have no need of it. Thanks...

has anyone else found that they cannot use the phone pad for typing in?
e.g. I want to create an SMS .. don't want to bother opening up the keyboard if device is in pda mode, don't want to bother using stylus, but wouldn't mind having the phone pad up and using T9 input just by pressing screen.. if I select phone pad I just get the keyboard displayed..
other funny things i've found are that even though my exec is setup to uk date/time settings, the date stamp on any photos is in american format?!
also, you cannot get certain notifications to repeat, e.g SMS .. with MMS it doesn't even allow you to set the led to flash?!
Has no-one else got problems using the phone pad input on their exec?

I'm just noticed that I have the same problem.
The Phone pad does not appear when to tap it.
Anybody known how to hack the registry so that the phone pad well appear when to tap it.

1. Soft reset
2. Open Calender or Contacts FIRST!
3. Choose the Phone pad......
After that, the phone pad will be available for sms...... you'd have to do this everytime u soft reset though. Think it might have something to do with one of the CAB files from O2.
Anyone with a long term solution??

try hard reset then change to corporate setting.(i mean about phone pad)

Bummer.....thought the latest ROM would have solved this problem already!??!
Seems to be related with the amount of Storage memory left...... With few or no extra programs installed, the phone pad can be activated anytime!!

My SIM Toolkit works ok but whenever I want to exit, it wont, it just keep on displaying, covering my Today screen and I can't get rid of it unless I do a softreset. And since it stays, when I try using it, it doesn't respond anymore. i think it's technically dead but it just wasn't able to clean-up the user interface as it exits. Although i can still work on my other programs, the thought of it hindering my Today screen is just irritating. I hope you could help me on this guys. It started when I upgraded to SE

anyone who has this same problem? is it caused by a 3rd-party program? or anyone who's using PPC SE (XdaJojo) who doesn't have this problem? So i would know that it's one of my 3rd party programs that is causing it

i tried hardresetting my xda, without the extrom. just plain PPC SE. and guess what? the SIM toolkit worked just fine. when i restore my backup, it's back to its freezing issue. my problem now is to find the 3rd party program that is causing it to hang-up. i hope it works by gradually removing my programs one by one. tsk tsk tsk, that's not gonna be easy

I got an old HTC MDA recently so I am new to this whole pocketpc world. I LOVE IT already by the way!
I have just installed a dialer skin I found on the web called "The Equinoxe Wizard reTouched" or something.
It looks great and works great, however it has messed up my phone a bit. First of all, the roaming icon showed up after install but I was able to hide it in the registry. Then I noticed the ringtones cannot be changed or played anymore. I use to load up mp3/midi ringtones and now all I get is the annoying roaming ringtone. My audio ones just play silence with NO vibration even if enabled.
I tried uninstalling the skin but it doens't fully uninstall and messes up.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I want to avoid upgrading the rom if possible.
plzz help. I'm hoping just a registry tweak is required or something.

I just realized it only affects MID files. Mp3 files still work. I'm hoping there is just a MID file support fix.
ringtone problem

I had a similar problem on my wizard. After installing a profiling software I wasn't able to change the ringtone and exit the dialog. I searched different forums and found a solution (at least for my problem). I downloaded a software called "Tuatara WM5 Ringing Delay Patch". After installaing I was able to change the ringtones and save my changes. I tried to uninstall the SW again and the fault appeared again. So installed again: Everything was fine.

Disable or delete the files from the /programs and /startup directory. that should remove the program from loading.
Or do a hard rest.
I have MWC2 running so I no longer need the default cursor. It is starting to continuously run when I start it up and never stop regardless of whether programs are open or not. It just keeps spinning... and it's driving me nuts. Any help anyone can give to solve this problem? Or a way to disable it so it doesn't show up like this?

try to set the time to 10 seconds in mwc-settings, this works for me in 90%

My HD2 has just developed a new glitch over the past few days. When I'm typing using the sense keyboard the keyboard sometimes disappears and I just end up tapping the body of the text. I've made sure I'm not inadvertantly pressing the keyboard at the bottom of the screen. Has anyone else had this issue, and how can I resolve it? I recently installed the "currency symbols for keyboard .cab", could this have anything to do with it?

I can't help with your problem mate, but I will confirm that it's not the currency symbols cab that's caused your problem. I've been using that since the day it was released and I've never had the keyboard disappear on me.
Have you installed anything else recently? Does this happen in every app that uses the keyboard, or is it only one particular app?
No, I've not installed anything else that I can think of, except I've now set memmaid to run on a daily basis.
I think the keyboard issue has happened both with SMS and email, but I'll make sure I'm more aware when/if it happens again.

i have the same if not more then that problem, when im typing using the sense key board it tends to lag and also sometimes the are where im typing switches to the top of the text which then i have to press on the last word to continue typing on the end of the messege.
I also noticed when im typing it tends to swtich to something off the typing area, such as if im writing a text messege or email and then the area where im typing is no longer active and the previous messege is highlighted...
the only things i have installed on my phone are
