Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone uses a Linkstation Pro and connect to the WebAccess feature via their phones. I can't seem to connect either via Internet Explorer or Opera.
It works fine from my Blackberry Curve and also works on iPhones.
The error that I get is a HTTP Gateway Time Out. Would this be something to do with my provider (T-Mobile UK) or the browsers?
Thanks.

Just use pocket IE or file explorer and type in the UNC path of the location on your home PC, e.g. \\HOMEPC\MYMUSIC.
Could you let me know which version you are using for the XDA IIi and which model WAP? I've been trying to get my IIi to work with a 3COM OfficeConnect WAP to no avail (both work and home). Work WAP is carrying about 5 different client WIFI cards (and a HP IPAQ). Home WAP is carrying 3 different WIFI cards. No problems in either case. Just my XDA IIi is unhappy. Home WAP is running the lastest firmware from 3COM and Work WAP is running original firmware. My XDA IIi doesn't work with either. I have managed to get the XDA to WIFI on a neighbour's WAP working. Which seems to indicate that XDA IIi is OK.
I've seen another post where there was a problem with a linksys 54g / XDA IIi

Anybody got any ideas?
UPDATE: Got IP address @ work wap from MS DHCP server. Can ping/traceroute using vxUtils, but the device doesn't appear to "know" it's connected. IE, etc still tries to use GPRS.

I managed to establish a connection and got access to the internet via a VPN-Server in the local network connected via Wifi to my XDA mini. I had also problems with vpn connection going down.
Unfortunately I have some troubles with my Wifi card, so I don't have the exact settings. But AFAIR the problem was solved by doing this:
- Going to Settings->Connections->Connections->Advanced->Execptions
- Using New URL to add "*" and "*/*".
(I have a german version, so I'm not sure, how the buttons are labled in english)
I think the problem is, that the software thinks, VPN connects always to the INTRAnet at your workplace. By adding this "Exections" you tell the device, that the hole internet is included in the intranet.
Maybe there is a routing tool for PPC which can solve this, too?
Hi I have an O2 XDA Exec (personal contract) with the BB Connect software up and running. I also have a Blackberry 8700 that connects to BES at work on the O2 network (BT Mobile I think). I can get BB Connect to work with regards to email, and everything works well
However, when I use the blackberry I can use Opera Mini to surf the web and Google Maps Mobile, so I know I have access to data.
When I put the SIM card in the XDA I can't seem to get the data connection working. I have tried several APNs - o2.wap.co.uk; mobile.o2.co.uk and blackberry.net, but none seem to give me access.
I am aware that my compnay may well have blocked some ports/protocols, but as I can access Opera Mini and Google Maps from the blackberry there must be data there somewhere. Anyone got any ideas as to how I could do it?

As far as I know blackberry and internet are two different connections. As you can use blackberry on your universal you need to get the internet connection setting from your provider (It should be here in the forum as well) and manually create a connecting setting and you should be able to view the web pages as well.
When you use the internet connection your BB connection will be disconnected as you cannot have two connections at the same time.
Hope this helps.
Right, it's taken me a while, but I've got a bit further with this. The reason my blackberry can access data, but using the same SIM in my Universal it can't is all to do with the blackberry connect client.
As my companies SIM won't enable 'data' (ie the WAP or internet APN) the data is coming via the Balckberry BES MDS service. This allows the BES to act as a kind of proxy for data.
The bad news is that the Blackberry connect client on WM5 doesn't support MDS. The good news is that the Blackberry Suite for WM6 that has just been announced http://www.techatplay.com/2007/04/24/blackberry-to-run-on-windows-mobile-6/ should.
Bring it on!
Hi All,
I'm new to all this stuff so please be nice to me
I've got a problem with some 838 pro's.
I've installed the Blackberry Connect software on them and they connect through to the BES but I cannot get an internet connection on them
I was told that the Blackberry Browser won't work but turning that off and using vfinternet.au (vodafone australia) doesn't seem to connect through either.
I'm not sure what else I can do as I don't have any experience with these things.
Is there anyone that could help me with this?
Hi,
I have a mac mini sharing its internet connection on Ethernet to almost all the wireless devices.
I enable "Internet sharing" on the mac to send out a wireless signal. Basically all the devices with a wifi card could connect to the mac and get internet access. I had a ipod touch, it can access to internet through the mac. I had a white English G1, it also works.
But now, a German HTC dream (DREA110 PVT 32B) can connect to the shared network, it gets IP, no problem, but it can not access to internet, web browsing does not work, PING doesn't work. Interestingly, this German G1 can access to internet through the AP in the library and at my home.
What is the problem with this G1, do you guys have any idea? Thanks in advance.
No idea?
Does anyone else have this problem?
Dealing with this now. We're at a hotel and are sharing the hotspot access we are buying. I'm on a MacBook Pro and can share the signal off of my Brother's macbook via bluetooth. But my cousin can't get on the internet from his G1 through the host mac. They are paired. Any thoughts
I think this is a general problem so I'm posting it here.
I have an Omnia II connected with Globe Telecoms in the Philippines. I can surf using HSDPA/3G + Opera Mobile without any problems.
Recently I tried to connect my laptop using Internet Sharing. I connected the phone, ran the app, and nothing happened.
I then installed WMWifiRouter and found out that the problem was the IP address (I am not getting one). I managed to find a workaround: open Opera first, let it connect, then open Internet Sharing. Doing this, I am assigned an IP and can successfully surf.
The question is, does anyone know why I am not getting an IP? Does it have anything to do with the settings or Opera?
