I am using it with my notebook, in my car etc. You must buy cable jack 3,5 too and set your notebook as a "line in"

Streaming audio to the PC

Would anyone know if its possible and if so any ideas or tips on how to get a windows mobile device to play its sounds via activesync on the PC.
So if you have SatNav running and connected to a PC all the directions would be read out through the PC speakers rather than the device speaker. That kinda thing.
Thanks in advance.
Hi
There must be some application that do work.
but here is what i was done.
you need ( usb or anyother kind of ) bluetooth on your pc.
install bluesoleil and activate Headset service.
then connect to your pc bluetooth with PDA.
It detect your pc's bluetooth as a bluetooth headset and all sounds can be heard from PC.

Audio input over USB?

Specifically, HTC Fuze as USB computer speaker - possible?
It may be too complicated a hack, but I would like to use the speakerphone of my HTC Fuze (Raphael) as a cheap USB speaker for my computer, for when my 100 watt stereo speakers would be too loud and when I don't feel like wearing headphones.
Just a kinda funny but fairly unnecessary usage scenario. So, how to do it, and is it even possible?
pretty sure that pda's can performe the tast of an usbSoundcard
but when connected to activesync the pda would have the same network
as the pc and as so being able to map a shared network drive and play music from it

Thanks, but I need it to output games and application sounds, not mp3s.
Not sure if it would need a WinMo driver, an xp driver, or what. Maybe record computer's sound in realtime and play file from disk, also in realtime? Some sort of streaming? Just throwing out ideas. I have no idea how to make it work.
you would need a dummy sound driver on the pc and then a "server" app on the pc feeding a socket which the client driver on the pda would play
but you could never get it to do it real time
even if you used 2 pc's rather then a pda in the client end
and the pda would slow it down even more
but you could do it over bluetooth if the bluetooth device in your pc supported audiogateway then the pda would work as a soundcard for the pc

Thanks Rudegar! Too bad about USB, but that sounds even better. Knew I should have gotten a fancy bluetooth adapter for my computer instead of a wifi one!
they are pretty cheap just make sure you get one with a good newer broadcom bluetooth stack software

3.5 to usb - will it work?

I have a usb connection on my car music system, the idea is to play toons via a memory stick as opposed to cd. it recognises wmv and mp3. so, my question is, if i can get hold of a lead with a 3.5 jack on one end and a usb plug on the other, will i be able to play the music on my HD2 on my car system via the usb socket on the car player?
Mike
is not possible.
USB cable handles digital files (bit), your car recognizes the pendrive as hd2.
the jacks 3.5 is a analogic audio, you should connect it to aux to play the car radio and HD2.
therefore there is no possibility of having a USB / jack 3.5
excuse my English, is a google translation
thanks for your quick reply
its a shame it wont work as it seemed a quick fix.
am i right then in guessing that a lead from 3.5 on the phone to the aux socket would work?
Mike
Well, what I dont understand is:
Why go so far ?
I would guess that the music on the HD2 is stored on your memory card, and not on the device itself.
So - Just connect the HD2 with it's usb cable to the car USB port (where you connect the disk-on key thingie), and select "DiskDrive" mode on the HD2.
It should work just the same.
Enjoy
(And - report back)
Another thing - if your car has a USB port, I would guess it has a 3.5 port (AUX) input.
Try connecting the HD2 3.5 port to the car's 3.5 port (the 3.5 to 3.5 male-male cable is not expensive)
ok, usb does not work. you do get the option of active synch or data when connection but neither allow you to access music.
have ordered a male to male 3.5 jack lead to try that connection cos the car sound system has a 3.5 out and says that it is iphone ready.
fingers crossed and will report back either way.
Mike
well, I tried it with my car.
I copied an mp3 to the storage card (to the root folder of the card) and connected the hd2 to the car's usb port.
When the hd2 asked I selected "Disk Drive" and the car read and played the file.

thats interesting, i didnt think of putting a toon into the root folder. all my music is in albums in the music folder on the card. guess this is why it couldnt see it.
having the music as separate tunes in the root not as albums wont work for me but may for some, which is great.
still waiting for my 3.5 to 3.5 male cable and will report back when it arrives. as the music ctr in the car is ipod enabled my hope is that i will be able to select album and tune via the phone and it will play through the cars system.
either way its another great use of the HD2

I have all my audio in folders, many 2 or 3 folders deep, and the HD2 plays them on my car stereo with no problem.
Technically, when you choose Storage mode for USB, it emulates a USB-ATAPI device. Generally, these USB MP3 players require you to insert a standard USB-ATAPI device that is formated in FAT16 or FAT32. Some USB MP3 players support other file systems as well.
Honestly, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

what connection are you using?
Mike
happy to say the normal usb lead from phone to music system works fine. as has been previously said, simply choose the storage/data option.
stating with a bit of a blush here, i was not patient enough for the system to find the music on the storage card so assumed it was not working.
yay, can listen to me toons now. what a great phone this is.
Mike
For future reference for anyone. Use the FM TRANSMITTER.
Weird, i just connect my phone with the USB cable and chose disc drive and the car stereo finds all my music thats on the phone.
EDIT: Aha, you've got it to work now

[Q] Host Music through USB with JB 4.2

Hello,
I've been searching, reading and trying for some time with no luck, so I'm now asking for direct help here.
I was a happy iPhone (several models) owner for at least 6 years, but recently changed to a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I must say this phone beats the IP in almost every single aspect. I have nevert missed my IP, except when connecting it to my Cars sound system or my home sound system. With the IP, both systems did recognize all the music, playlists, tags info ... everything, and the same happens when connecting an external HDD through USB connection ........ but with the SGS4 now the only way to play my phone music is through plug connection, which has lower quality, doesn't charge the phone while playing ... you know the drill.
Do you know any way, application, widget, USB configuration ... something that would allow this magnificent phone to host music to sound systems through USB connection?
Thank you very much in advance
No one with this problem?, or even better, with a solution?
This phone has:a)aptx bluetooth codec b) usb audio output. Both of these are high quality audio solution.
How I use these: for my car...I bought an accesory from htc...which connect to my aux imput to my sony explode ( this can be applied to any home receiver with an aux imput) and usb output ....I bought fiio e17 alpen as an external dac/headphone amplifier. As a software solution...you can use any DNLA app to acces your music from you S4...(like airplay into IOS)
