Slow boot - email problem - HD2 General

After I added my GMail account, I noticed very slow boot time. Sense needs around minute-two to boot, and the device is slow for another few minutes, and during that time it's almost unusable. I setup both Exchange and GMail to store their attachments on microSD card, but that didn't help speed up the process. When there is only Exchange account present, booting is fast, and device is usable after 30-45 secs.
Does anyone have similar problem? I need both Exchange and GMail for my work, and on both I have a lot of e-mails (around 2-3 thousand) so downloading only last e-mails is not a solution for me.
If someone figured out how to put all e-mails on microSD card, that would be great.
Thanks in advance

Hotmail not synching after some time

Hi I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.
When I restart my phone my hotmail email will sync perfectly fine and will do so for some time. At some point usually later that day it will stop synching but will not notify me of this, the only way to tell is to do a manual sync and then an error message appears saying syncing failed. Now There has been nothing I have been able to do at this point to make the account sync I have even left it 3-4 days and everytime it will fail. If however I restart the phone it will work perfectly first time.
I have seen this problem on at least 2 roms although 2 versions of the same one. Is this likely to be the rom? or the hotmail server/program?

Battery Drain + Heat

Hello,
Since yesterday, HD2 back becomes very hot for no reason (no new apps installed for many months) and battery is drained within 4-5 hours (from 100%).
Same when I restart the phone. However, it randomly fixes itself for no reason too.
I also can't wake up the phone just by pressing HANG UP key, I have to HOLD IT for 5 seconds for screen to highlight.
Any ideas?

Are you using a googlemail account, if so delete it and reboot the phone. remove battery for 10 secs.
Wow, you are a hero. Yes, I do.
Is this a known bug? Any fixes?
Do I just re-add account then?
Excellent, worked for me to.
Had the same problem with my HD, deleted the Gmail account now, and I'll se if it helps ... the only thing that maybe is wrong (people ask why Gmail not something else) is maybe related to Gmail's new priority inbox thing, maybe it makes extra stress on the phone to process the mail ... I know a lot of people already had this feature, but in my case, my Gmail Inbox got the priority thing just before the HD2 started acting up, so that's why I'm assuming it's somehow related to all of this ... then again, maybe just a coincidence that doesn't have anything to do with it ... I think it's too early for speculations ...
Btw, my first post here

Welcome and a helpfull first post
Don't get the idea that I don't have anything better to do and just type here, but here's and update ... The phone is cooling down, the battery life holds normally, and you can turn on the phone from standby by pressing any button, like you used to before (some people reported that you could only turn it back from standby by long pressing the power button, myself included)
I also had this problem and someone on the Tmobile forum said XDA suggested to delete the Gmail accounts. This was my response on the other forum:
"Deleted all Gmail email accounts I had on my phone. I can verify that this corrected the problem and my HD2 is now working normally.
This is definitely not a good permanent solution because I use multiple gmail accounts. I also noted that when I did have my Gmail accounts on my phone, it would hang when trying to communicate with google servers. If you went to inbox, and looked at the status message at the bottom of the screen. It would hang at like "Connecting" or "Disconnecting"."
Also of note; this problem just started happening in the last few days and I've had my HD2 with multiple gmail accounts setup since release.
First-time poster...
We've done the same thing (deleted our Gmail accounts). After the battery recharges - it went completely dead after only 6 hours off the charger - we'll see if/how it works

Thanks for posting the gmail issue and fix. I had been having the same issue since Thursday night, and was almost ready to call T-Mobile to try to get a replacement, but saw the post here just by chance. So far it is working the way it was before, so it's much better. I even tried a hard reset(after a backup, of course), but had gone through and setup all of my stuff again right away, so I was still having the issue.
T-Mobile is now listing this as a known issue - last night when I called, they weren't so you can imagine the number of calls they've received already. My advice: if you are a T-Mobile customer and haven't reported this issue, please do. The more they see it is affecting, maybe the quicker they'll get a resolution for it.

I've had the exact same issue with my HD2 since Thursday evening. I just found this thread about Gmail and have deleted my Gmail account from the phone's e-mail app. Crossing my fingers to see if that fixes it.
I have a trouble ticket open with HTC regarding the issue and have made them aware of the possible Gmail interaction problem. The tech helping me said he will explore it and also that "GMail did recently perform a server side security change". Hopefully HTC and Google get their heads together and figure out what is going on.

Amen to that! Permanently leaving Gmail off my phone is not an acceptable option!

euro hd2
Also same situation with euro version HD2.
Someone on the HD2 Facebook page is reporting that if you go into Task Manager, the email client is using 80%-90% of the CPU. No wonder it's getting warm...
Great. And I was prepared to do an HR in the morning because of this. Hope there will be an permanent solution for this soon.
Just to touch base... since deleting the Gmail account and recharging the phone, it has worked flawlessly. A little too late to test the battery life (I won't be up near that late) but I'll let y'all know tomorrow.
I am a super noob when it comes to this my brother is having this problem how do you delete gmail from the HD2 sorry but I'm an android guy trying to help a windows
After removing my Gmail account from the phone it seems to be back to normal. Hopefully they find a fix soon.
Rob
Is this only an IMAP issue as I have 3 gmail accounts (POP3) on my T-Mob HD2 & they are all working fine without bugging the HD2.

Note 4.0.3 DXLP5 Broken Exchange Connectivity

I upgraded my Note to 4.0.3 DXLP5. Ten minutes afterwards I noticed a flaw in connecting to Corporate Exchange Server. Because I use the phone to access work emails, I consider this a very serious flaw. After the upgrade, I had to use my other Android phone to access work emails. The Note is now handling all purely personal Google mails.
Flaw Observation:
Connection configuration to Exchange server was successful with expected security acknowledgement from server. Everything looks ok. However, sync did not seem to have taken place. The email app opened and stuck at loading emails. Zero Outlook emails, zero Contacts, and zero Calendar entry. And absolutely zero error message.
Same thing happened to me.. however mails started showing up after a few hours.. just wait
few hours ? I waited for 24 hours.... its still trying to retrieve email with that circle thingy...
its a flaw, I have seen this happen on htc sensation with ICS beta. It looks like they've forgotten how important exchange active sync is

It's good to know I am not the peculiar one. Still, I'm disappointed on the software quality. How could they not conduct a proper test before rolling out? This is so basic.

Syncing WOES

Alright. My phone is having a huge problem syncing. First I noticed it with Gmail. I can tell how instant I am getting emails because I am sitting here at work on my PC. I can send an email from where ever (in this case my outlook work address), send it...see the email pop up on my screen in the Gmail internet tab. Here is the thing. It takes anywhere from 1-20 mins for the email to finally get to my phone. It is SO random. Sometimes if I pick my phone up and turn the screen on, it pushes through alittle faster. I have tried everything (I think) the last two days. Obviously all my settings are correct. AutoSync, the Sync settings in the gmail itself.
To see if it was just gmail, I put my work email on the phone to see how that works. It's EXACTLY the same. Sporadic syncing. I then tried cloudmagic email app which people rave about. Same thing.
What gives? I've about had it with this phone. I even tried a factory reset this morning. Still have the issue. I'm thinking of taking the phone back honestly. Could this be a hardware thing to do with connection? I've tried all of this with strong wifi on, and with perfect 4G signal. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Nobody here has ANY idea what could be going on with my phone? I thought I fixed it and had it narrowed down to the WiFi st work but I just tried it again and it took 6 minutes for it to show up on my phone. If the phone is awake, it seems to be faster. Does this sound like it could be a hardware issue? Should I take this phone back? I already did a factory reset ect. Someone please help!!

Email Randomly syncing with Exchange

Hello, I have read and searched for the last week trying to find the issue relating to my email not syncing without any luck. Although it seems that in most cases, the Auto-Sync data was turned off, that doesn't appear to be my issue.
So here are the details.
The Phone:
Samsung S5 Active SM-G870A running stock everything on Version 4.4.2. The Baseband is G870AUCU1ANG3
The Steps:
First off, I had no issues with it push email on my S4 active and exchange email what-so-ever for the last two years. Recently, the NFC quit working on my S4 Active, and insurance replaced it with an S5 Active.
I went into Exchange in the web interface (OWA) and deleted the old S4 profile before activating the new S5 Active.
I activated the email, set it to push, I don't use the peak time, as I have a 30 gig plan. I verified that the Auto-Sync-Data is checked, and I checked to see if exchange services is restricted to run in the background and it is not.
So the problem is, the email seems to sync when it wants too (Randomly), rather than push or any timed schedule. After a reboot, it will work fine for about an hour, then slowly, it syncs at 5 mins, 10 mins, sometimes 60 mins or longer. It just has a mind of its own of when it wants to sync rather than push. I want to stick with the stock app, and have tried Cloud Magic, and a couple others, and its just not my "cup of tea". I am at my wits end, and could use some suggestions. I appreciate any and all replies.
Thank you in advance.
