bluetooth problems - HD2 General

hey guys. first post on these forums. i installed rom 1.48 on my hd2 yesterday. only problem is, since i have, some of my options are missing in the windows start menu. one of these is the bluetooth manager, so ive got no way now of keeping a track on all my paired devices or any way of changing of bluetooth settings.
has anyone got any suggestions as to how i can get this back i.e. the windows bluetooth manager.
appreciate your help guys

In the settings tab on the sense manila, click on menu/ all settings/ and you will see the bluetooth symbol. Its a bit of a pain to get to.

thank you!

How to enable Bluetooth/Wifi from Today screen?

Hi folks,
Is it possible to have wifi and bluetooth enabled with a tap from the homescreen instead of having to use stupid comm manager for the wizard? I searched around everywhere in this discussion board, but search came up empty. Forgive me if this question has already been asked.
Many thanks.....
Best way I know to do this is use PhenAlarm (google it), takes up a little today screen real estate but its a great little app.
thanks...
i already have that software (phonealarm) and i managed to find just one skin that suits me (i.e. has bluetooth, wifi, missed calls, voicemail, however its missing the headset icon). anyhow, thank you for the suggestion, i was hoping that was a hack to it. For eg, treo 700w does have a bluetooth toggle icon on the homescreen by default.
see my thread over at hofo.

thank youuuu

hey,
thanks buddy. excatly what i was looking for. now, i just need another switch for wifi, any luck on finding that?
bittermon,
I tried your program and the bluetooth toggle works perfectly. Unfortunately the wifi toggle does not. When i try using the pre-made shortcut, it says "no compatible wifi found." When i make my own icon it doesn't do anything at all.
btw i have the cingular 8102 with the latest official rom. I also have wireless g mode activated. Any ideas?
Thansk.

I found this buried somewhere in either the Microsoft Active Sync help, one of the MS forums, and maybe here, too. But it was pretty obscure.
Caveat: I have NO CLUE as to WHY this should work, but it did.
Go to SETTINGS -> SYSTEM -> USB to PC.
Whatever the setting is, change it. It worked for me, despite the fact that it was the setting that I had to change to get Active Sync to work in the first place. I have no clue as to why the setting that would not let Active Sync work before now made it work now.
Just to really mess me up, as I check it now after having flashed S.V.I.'s Angel v.4, the USB to PC setting is changed back, but Active Sync has been working perfectly ... well, as perfectly as it ever did.
Sure hope this helps.
no. if i change it, it doesn't read it at all
thanks for trying though. i had some hope lol
Hmm. Try using DotFred's task manager to clear your duplicate notifications. I'm pretty sure it's already part of your ROM. Also clear your temp files out with ClearTemp. Cooks tend to forget this one, but it's a damn useful little program.
Chances are the first step will cure your problem. Shut the phone off completely in between steps, too.

HTC Touch HD just won't connect to my car

Hi you al, long time no see.
I recently changed phones from a HTC TYTN to the HTC Touch HD.
The TYTN did connect to my car BT (PHONE) with no problem at all. I don't need it for navigation because I have onboard navigation.
The new HD doesn't find the car's BT no matter what I do. I checked with my dealer and he told me that's because the car doesn't support this A2DP protocol...?
Is there no way to get around this problem?
I tried the Search button but most problems are about limited connection and possibilities but no relevant info about not connecting at all.
Any help would be great.
Greetings from Belgium
Anyone here with an idea..?
I've had no problem with my BT at all....well I did but that was because I'd forgotten to make my device discoverable...d'oh
Might help if you say what car
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
Change COD to: 5374476 (decimal) and soft restart phone.
Try this and don`t lose your old COD number if this patch doesn`t help.
Thanks Guys.
The car is an Audi A6 build 11/2007 with MMI + NAV, phone and voice dailing.
As I said, my TYTN paired with no problem at all.
I tried everything and even paired the Touch HD with other devices which worked perfectly.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SY S\COD
I sure would like to try this, but I'm not sure if I know how and were to find this...
Could you tell me this in a few words?
Thanks again.
Greetings from Belgium
Check if there are any other bluetooth devices added to your car - if they are then remove them and retry pairing them both.
Your HD should see the cars bluetooth and then go through the wizard to set up the connecton.
I had a similar issue on my BMW - this was the only way I got them to connect.

Use your registry editor application. Most roms come with one called RegEdit
Open it and use it like a file explorer and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
@ arifhanid, Did that too, I removed all paired devices and tried again with no succes.
@ Fallen Spartan, I searched my HTC from top to bottom but I can't find a RegEdit program or something similar. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place... I'm not that familiar with going into the system altough, once I managed to change a German XDA II to English but that's a while ago...
If you could give me an extra tip or so? By the way, it's an HTC witch Dutch OS.
Anyway, thanks for the reply.

All roms are differently and maybe yours doesn't come with a regedit though you can get free ones easily enough if you do a quick search in Themes, Applications and Software forum
Before you do that check to see if you have a standard registry editor by using your file explorer and navigating to /windows and search for a file called RegEdit.lnk This is you registry editor. Open this file to use. If you want this to appear on your programs list create a shortcut for this file and save it into /windows/Start Menu
Now if you go back into programs it will appear on your list
Nope, no RegEdit found in the (very) long windows list.
I guess I'll have to go and check the Themes, Applications and Software forum.
So, there I have look for a program named RegEdit and install it on my device.
Then I have to change that COD as FileFixer told me.
I'll try that.
Thanks.

Just do a search for 'registry editor'. Should do the trick
Hello again Fallen Spartan,
So, I downloaded Advanced Configuration Tool V 3.3.
I didn't install it yet, but according to you, is this a good one?
Sorry for all my questions, hope this was the last one
Thanks!

Hiya toemke,
The HD Tweak works great by the way. May I ask where you downloaded Advanced Configuration Tools 3.3 from? Only my searching ability left me none the wiser.

Bluetooth button homescreen ?

Does anybody know whether there is program after which bluetooth automatic turns on and of ? So I can put it on my homescreen, after pressing turns on bluetooth and again after pressing turns of ? So instead of going to communication manager ... ?
Enjoy - http://rapidshare.com/files/317234290/Touch_X_Bluetooth_Toggle.cab
I wasn't able to download the file you so graciously linked, however tha Bluetooth toggle app I used with my HD is not working on the HD2. Funny, as the wifi toggle works fine.
BTY, I uninstalled and reinstalled using the original file from my computer as well as the one in my SD card.
Anyone else have this problem?
Gentlemen, Ladies,
Please use the search option, it will serve you well - there's plenty of places this has been addressed in the Leo forums. It might even have pointed you here:

Use an icon-changing app to give it a nice bluetoothy icon on the homescreen, I know I did. Works like a charm. Good luck.
Thanks for all, exactly what I was looking for and working flawlessly !

No keyboard during call

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my hd2. When I have a voicemail message or when I call a servicenumber I must choose an option like "press 1 or press 2" At that moment there is no keyboard available on my touchscreen. This is a real problem because I can't listen or delete voicemailmessages. I contacted HTC but there was no solution. I hope that someone can help me with this, I like my HD2 a lot.
Thank You!!

Can you not open the keyboard with the little pull down tab
when in a call ?
Thanks for your response. When I slide it down for options it doesnt contain 'show keyboard' or something similar.
It is a big problem for me and I think that I'm not only one with this problem.
Very strange....
Can you recall when this started happening, was it like this from
new or only when you installed a modification of some sort ?
All info will help those more knowledgeable than me to assist you.
I have my hd2 for a month now. I have the problem since the beginning with the original HTC-rom (NL). Later on I have installed cookie home tab but that is not the problem.

Yes,my keyboard and other options,Speaker phone etc are available to me via the pull down tab during calls.
Have you tried changing the keyboard in the advance settings? I have encountered this before, i'm using EnergyRom. Then i did go to the advance settings and search for the phone settings then dialpad then i just use the default dialpad. I can't remember exactly because I'm using a different ROM as of today. Just try to look in the advance settings for the dialpad. Sorry if i can't help you directly mate. I will try to research this to help you.
