Does anybody know a QR code reader that works with Leo?
I've tried: i-nigma, quickmark, beetagg...
I-nigma just quits when it is started. Quickmark doesn't load. Beetagg can scan, but fails to load webpages.
strange because i use BeeTagg on my HD2 and it works fine.
I have the 1.48 Bouygues Telecom French ROM.
Yes ! I download the release version for HD2 from quickmark
and it work!
When I use BeeTagg, whenever I try to load the browser to go to a URL nothing happens.
I see QuickMark released a HD2 version after the last time I checked. I'll try it. Thanks!
QuickMark is free? It asks for login... I cannot create logins on every stupid webpages...
Hi, I can confirm QuickMark works very well on HD2. It is free but does require a registration. Since it worked so well I went for the $10 advanced version which amongst other things also stores the codes.
I'm working with Quickmarks for the past few days and it's got real potential. What upc databases are you people using?
I-nigma works awesome for me. very fast, in fact its greece lightening..
Tried all 3 aswell, and I got the same problems as cortk has. Anyone got something else?
Have you guys installed the .net framework 3.5? (Needed for several other apps/mainly older ones) Just a thought.
Quickmark 3.8.5 for HD2

There is a new revision QuickMark-DS-HTC-v3.8.5r4697 on QuickMark's website that works well for hTC HD2
Both I-Nigma and BeeTagg worked fine for me. I preferred the way I-Nigma works though.

Hi guys,
I did download and installed the quickmark qr....but I can only read the barcodes...no information about the product...when i click access a windows pops up telling me I need the advanced edition and must purchase. No other option?
i-nigma reader seems to do the trick.
http://www.i-nigma.com/Downloadi-nigmaReader.html
blurb says;
"Go to www.i-nigma.mobi on your mobile. I-nigma will automatically identify your handset type, download and install i-nigma."
tried I-nigma but it installed ok, but when app opens i see a black box in the middle and it then crashes wanting to send an error report.
Tried to use the latest version of Quickmark (QuickMark-DS-HTC-v3.8.5r4697.kcu.CAB) here, but it sez to hit enter (no keyboard pop us so that's a no go.
Eventually I will find one that will work.
MobileTag works on all the barcodes I've ever found, including QR.
It's free from Omarket.
Try this

Friends of the newest and hottest,
i've been pretty satisfied with Blueangel, but nevermind: I absoluteley had to buy the Universal once it came out. Now I have it, and I'm stuck with getting all the stuff to work that worked before.
My toughest one so far is EWallet: Even after updating to eWallet 4.02, that supposedly works with WM2005, i seem to be unable to get the SyncPro with the desktop application to work. An Error 400a appears ... mor detailed:"Communication init failure: CeRapiInvoke: 0x80070005"
Does anybody have experience with that? Appreciate any comment.
Cheers, j
PS: The Update of eWallet shows version 4.02 on the jasjar and 4.01 on the desktop ... the update is for the client only it seems ...
I am running and using the version 4.0.2.1116 on my JasJar... works very well
sure. works fine locally. but can you sync with your pc?
(ps: this is my first message typed with the keyboard. I begin to like this thing
I don't use the eWallet sync feature, but just file sync. That works fine. I suggest you do the same, unitil Illiumsoft has fixed the issue. Version 4.0.2 works fine on its own on WM5, but the sync feature is technically a seperate application. WM5 has changes substantially in relation to this.
OK. With Filesync it works fine. Thank's a lot.
I've just tried the new preview version 1.02 and now it works!
As you know the previous version crashed as soon as you tried to surf the web: with this new version I was able to surf the internet without any problem.
where did you find it ?
sorry....double post
Look here
http://www.access.co.jp/english/index.html
thanx
It works well....but not support for wm2005, not soft keys and slow rendering, etc, ....Much work pending to do for netfront team
Yeah, I know but it's always better then Pocket IE!
The support for WM5 it's not explicitly declared but since it works I think they have added it but didn't update the product page.
It did not work on my Jasjar. By the way I installed on my SD Card and I still need to try it on the main memory.
The problem I faced is that when a webpage has opened and I click on any of the links on the first webpage that opened the program simply shuts itself down. Did any of you experience this as well.
Shall be obliged for your replies.
Kind Regards
not working for me - and I have a clean and solid installaiton. was on my SD card tho...
Here is a direct link for download. http://www.access.co.jp/nfppc/dl_v33e.html

All okay on the Exec in Coroporate mode except:
- the initial install suggested the install was not successful but when I did a soft reset the install completed
- when browsing this forum I couldn't reply to posts, the edit window did not work
Otherwise seems like a really good browser (not sure how you select "back" when in full screen mode though)
Confirmed working fine in BlueAngel WM5.
Will do some more tests thanks for the info
Now installed on my main memory and working though page rendering needs to be improved a lot as this is still not at par to what I used to get with version 3.2 on my old pda2k.
Also still cannot log in to my hotmail site.
This post is being written with version 3.3 on my Jasjar.

wokring over 3g not wifi
I have had netfront 3.3 working for the last month on my jasjar but it only works with a gprs/3g connection. It does not work over a wifi connection. Unless there has been an update to 3.3 that I am not aware of can anyone else confirm this behavior?

No, the new version 3.3 (102) works excellent over WiFi on my MDA pro!
Imho you should download the new version from the website and try again.
I got it crashing asap I try to open a page protected by username and password.
Hope next release will fix it.
Best regards
Installed it on my JJ on the SD Card.
Works OK, a little slow though. Will try it on main memory and see if it is faster (anybody have experience ?)
Cheers
hrb
EDIT: tried it with installation on main memory - practically no difference in speed - so: back to the SD Card !
@rpingar
Some password protected pages work though. For example I can log into my g-mail account and also my local ISP e-mail account. However when logging into hotmail netfront closes. Similarly some other password protected pages also show similar behaviour.

The same here!
The problem is pop-up related. Every time it tries to open a pop-up window, it crashes. The same happens when you try to access the advanced settings window.
Is there a working version of the acrobat reader for windows mobile 5?
My imate Jas-jar came with Clear Vue PDF viewer included. I think it is bundled with WM5 however it does not appear in the programs folder. Try opening a pdf file, and I think you will find it opens in Clear Vue .
ClearVue doesn't seem to open about 75% of my files, which were all created on highest compression... Gotta find a better alternative. I had Picsel on my Palm before that was awesome.
ClearVue is on the companion CD, you need to install it manually.
ClearVue is the most ****ty pdf reader I have tried so far and was the initial reason why I asked for adobe acrobat reader for wm5 in here.
How about adobes own with a VGA hack for force it to high res? this is what i use.
can you be more specific about that vga hack ? Also; iahev tried to install adobes acrobat reader, but had no luck ....
hi
i have working version of acrobat reader, got it from adobe website, here is the link
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_mobile.html
Try the one for ARM and X-Scale models
Ok Bye
get tweaks2k and use the 'force vga' thing
Hi,
Have a look at a program called Styletap - apparently it allows you to run Palm OS apps on Windows Mobile v5.
I haven't tried it yet, but I used to own a palm with a few progs so I might give it a go.
It might help you run your old Palm reader.
Regards
Michael

You must download free Adobe 2.0 Version in ENGLISH !
That is the only one, work with the Universal.
All other Lang. are not working !
If it freeze during start, tap sometimes on screen,-it will works !
Adobe's version of Acrobat
Got to go with the Adobe version - sure its bloated and takes the usual age to load each time you start it fresh - but it beats clearview hands down

Bloated? It takes a couple of minutes to load for me!
Gimme a PDA version of Foxit, and hurry up 'bout it!
It took 15 secs to load on my Exec. Not great but at least it can actually read PDF documents unlike ClearVue.
Adobe reader for pocketPC v2.0 work well on my o2 mini.
If I can remove some plugin, it could be smaller in installation. Anyone can help which files to remove? Thanks!

Arto.
Adobe acrobat 1.0-better than 2.0
Hi guys. Of cource i am looking for something better that could open all sorts of books like all of us.I stumbled upon this post and I see your issues.I must admit thet the embeded clearvue Pdf(if I'm right) suks and I never used it.Also I downloaded the Adobe 2.0 when I got my Jasjar, just to realize theat IT HAS 14 MB!!!.A lot .And loading ...and loading...
Anyways,I owned before mj jasjar an Ipaq and had adobe 1.0 on it.So I installed it on my partner(Jasjar) and it works wonderfully for me.
Opens up in seconds and does all that needs to get a book or a document.
I'll try to put it up here someplace. Let's see if I can figure it out.
I found something here as well: http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/s/0067.asp

Hello,
Today was released to the public Opera Mini v4.1
You can download it here, or here for the signed versions.
One of the new features of this version is Direct address input, that makes a lot easier to input any web address.
But I'm having a trouble with it.
I'm using the latest Esmertec Jbed, build 20080222.3.1, and Opera Mini (all versions) runs in full screen without up and down bar. And without that I can't activate the keyboard...
Does anyone knows how to prevent Opera Mini to lauch in fullscreen??
By the way, here's the latest Esmertec Jbed version
Yeah, the best browser for low traffic, i`m using it on my MPx200
wow amazing we can actually download and upload files through opera mini now.
cheers does anyone know how to stop the anoying "do you want to let Opera on the web" (or something similar)?? I tried all the signed Midlett installs, but none of them worked, just got a error saying "Midlet no signed". Ended up installing Opera Mini unsigned. (Using TAO Java)
Cheers,

Try with Esmertec Java
"Opera claims the new version is 50% faster than Opera Mini 4.0"
can anyone confirm this ? if this is true this alone would make it worth upgrading.
also I have my Opera Mini set up as default browser thru that hack that's going around. if I upgrade do I have to do that over ? And will I lose my bookmarks and everything ?
thanks for the help !
4.1 is supposed to handle downloads now too! About time...
Yup that is very true noellenchris, and it works very good on my S710 using latest esmertec jbed!!!

I thought I read somewhere that opera 4.1 is ".. UP to 50% faster than 4.0 ..." in the Kaiser Software section".
If you install 4.1, you have to redo your bookmarks, speed dials, rss feeds, etc. To me, it's worth it. I can see the speed increase in page rendering and the auto completion for a web address is a nice time saving feature as well. There is a minor bug though ... you can't backspace when typing an web address. You have to 'insert symbol' in the drop down box to edit the web address. I uninstalled 4.0 for 4.1. But you can install 4.1 and still keep 4.0 if you wanted to since these are two diferent versions of the same app.

PPC version
Is there an actual PPC version?
Or does it only work with JAVA??
I see all downloads there is .jar .jad and blackberry versions
Any info?
Thought it was always a JAVA application, would love to see a native PPC version though.

Hmm, I'm using the multi-signed version and no longer asks "do you want to let Opera on the web" (or something similar) bla bla talk...
Maybe it's because you are using TAO Java. Try to use Esmertec Jbed, it's the best virtual machine...

yeah, we all know that, but that's not what we want. We want Direct address input enable and to be able to use the soft keyboard (for example on my Prophet). And because Opera mini stays in Fullscreen, due to the upper and lower bars, we can't acess the soft keyboard. Get it??
By the way, my father has an Sony Ericsson K800i, I tested a few minutes ago, and the version of Operamini for that mobile has an option to enable/disable the fullscreen. Damn it!!

cheers for that, can at least add my bookmarks
Works like a charm with esmertec jbed. I had some trouble downloading the signed version, since downloading from pocketIE automatically launched the tao midlet manager (which didn't recognize the bertificate btw), so i ended up going to mini.opera.com/beta with firefox with wap plugin installed and grabbing the high memory .jad signed with multiple certificates from there
Having signed version allows to permanently allow access to internet and filesystem.
For the direct address input - it seems to work only with numerical keys (so a sip like phone pad should work). Disabling the direct url input allows to use normal keyboard SIP or hardware keyboard just like in previous version.
Downloading really does work - that's probably the best feature of new opera - no more pocketIE launching needed
Overall, i really like the new version. The only change i would like to see in in is allowing to use hardware keyboard with direct URL entry.
Hey guys,
I installed the WinMo Fring client on my Xperia, and had it working for a day.
Then I tried to launch it from the icon and it wouldn't load, or even post any error messages.
If I browse to Program Files/Fring and launch Fring.exe I get an error message that says 'fring' is not a valid Pocket PC application.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling from the cab, from the computer, through ActiveSync, and nothing works - same error every time.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Works well here. I downloaded through m.fring.com and had it installed. It's been working fine. How did you install yours? I mean downloaded to PC and installed or through sms?
work perfect here too with m.fring.com
Would be awesome if one could use the build in front camera for video calls in skype/icq, but that wont work i think.
Well, I grabbed the exe off their website (or maybe it was softpedia) and installed to PC, which Activesync shot over to the phone.
I believe I tried the cab option as well.
Let me try to just go to m.fring.com...
It works fine over here too althought i couldnt get it to work my touch pro but it wasn't the same error. It just stuck at the loading screen
OK it looks like installing from the WAP site (using IE, not Opera -- I wish sometimes that opera would not try loading the full site for some pages... though others won't load the full page and only a mobile version, like CitySearch... irritating!) did the trick.
I just soft reset and it looks like Fring is sticking around.
So I guess that did the trick, thanks guys!
Though I will say, in the time it wouldn't work for me, I tried out Palringo... thats a pretty slick app, the way it supports photo and voice messaging; it gives a URL link to the recipient, they load the webpage and the photo or recording is embedded and playable right within the page, instantly. VERY cool!
