Hi All,
I don't have this phone, at least not yet.
But I'm trying to help a friend. There is an application he uses that requires eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime to be installed. The problem he has is that the Cab file won't install on the ATT Tilt 2 at all.
Is it possible that Visual Basic is such an ancient technology that it won't run on this device or newer ones?
Has anyone else encountered such problems with installing the Runtime CAB?
Any solutions?
Raudel
I installed it awhile ago on a 6.5 EnergyROM, and don't recall having problems with it. Try redownloading the .cab from here and see if that works. Sometimes the cab files are just bad and need to be redownloaded.
Nevermind...
Thanks for all the help DaveTheTytnIIGuy and especially RaudelJr!
This was me being too busy to pay attention to what I was doing.
As of this morning I have the embedded VB installed and all apps working on the Tilt 2 running stock rom wm 6.5 21xx.
I was trying to install the runtime to the sd card... oh well...
Thanks again,
ggg

I've got the 2.1 beta running on my JasJar with the newest ROM from i-Mate. The NetCF must be installed to the main memory, if you try installing it on a storage card you will wind up with an empty folder on the storage card. It works with the Belkin F8T051 GPS.
Hope that helps
Thanks dah45, thats useful information, i havnt actuly been able to test this out yet because of the damn jasjar memory, i have hardly any room left for program memory to install CFnet, i am looking forward to it
I am seeing the same error when I try to install WFFF on my Tmobile MDA (USA) (Wizard)
WFFF installs ok but won'r run beacuse it says I need a newer version of .net.
I get the same install error when I try to install the .net that is bundled with WFFF ot the download direct from Microsoft.
Anybody have any ideas?
It's not clear to me what your problem is. If you are having problems installing the update to 2.0 try disabling all today plug-ins and then soft resetting and then running the update. After it is installed you can re-enable the plugins.
Not sure what Plug-ins to disable. If you mean like SPB and things like that, I don't have any installed.
:?
I am currently working on a custom ROM for my HTC Apache on the sprint network. I have tried everything, searched up and down and have yet to find a reason as its not working. I add this to my default.hv overwriting some default settings, that are under those keys located in the attached txt file.
I add all 22 files into my dump folder overwriting some of the ones that are already there. And when I install a .NET 2.0 app, I get the you need to install CF .NET 2.0 error. Can anyone shed some light on where I may be going wrong?
Thanks,
Mike
Bump....
bump......Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to ALL! Can anyone shed any light here?
Thanks,
Mike
The setting
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework]
"2.0.6129.00"=dword:0
Has to be
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework]
"2.0.6129.00"=dword:1
Additionally i would set the
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework]
version 1( i do not know the exact numbers but begins with 1) =dword:1
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework]
version 1( i do not know the exact numbers but begins with 1) =dword:0
Hope this was helpful
I'm trying to run an especific application made with VB in WM5. Although many statememts that this is not possible and that we have to migrate the code to .net, I managedto make it run. After installation however, no new programs are allowed to install. Can you help me founding the root of this issue? Is important to me to learn about the origin of this incompatibility.
I guess you mean evb programs (scripts)... i think its that after uninstalling them there is a problem with the files with .vb extension and that can be solved when creating the distributable cab changing the regkeys that are modified (its a value wich is changed from 0 to 1 but I canĀ“t recall)... i guess the solutions is explainde in omnisoft forums, also there is the explanation to register additional components to evb... well, it has a long time since i try it... also it works with wm6...
Thank you for your answer. The problem was different.
A specific app Called Diagnosis Pro ( Very Expensive one) refused to install in my WM5 and WM6 devices. It only worked at PPC2002 and WM2003 and 2003/SE devices. Now I managed to install it in My WM4 and 6 devices after changing the dlls that was in the cab file. It's working Ok now.
It's Ok!
I went from an OEM TC to 6.1 TC and now i'm back to an OE TC WinMo 6.0.
when i first got the phone, i had no problem installing TCPMP or any other programs. i would get the cab, dump it in the mem card and execute it.
now that i flip flopped the ROM, when i try to install TCPMP it very quickly pukes and says the install was unsuccessful with no explaination.
any idea how to fix this? i know TCPMP is a freeware and it's a popular movie viewer so it should be pretty much error free. on top of that, i had it installed before going to 6.1. so now what happened?
any help is deeply appreciate it!
thanks!
hello,
I have a question concerning .net framework 3.5...i was attempting to start cooking, but ran into a problem when trying to download framework and its service pack. First I used the hyperlink. Then I went to microsoft and clicked the easily found "download" button(only 2.8 Mb)...Well that didnt work, then I found out that it was a update pack, so on the same page closer to the bottom it says full version.
I downloaded the full version (something like 200Mb). I ran the .exe and it wouldn't make it to the end before it would tell me that I needed to open-> control panel->programs->turn windows features on or off-> and select microsoft .net framework 3.5.1
Well that was already selected...attempted it several ways and still receiving the same error.
I also found that windows has had a problem with windows 7 and .net fW. It suggested I give my email...it then sent me fixit link and that link would not load.
I have looked at some other sites to see if I can figure this out, but havent quite got it yet.
Thanks in advance
Jake
