Well as the title says, is the 1.33.2005 SPL, for Magics, Haykuro's SPL?
I cant say for sure, but looking at the system size partition (system: 92160K total) it seems to be the one ported to magic.
Yes it is. I got it from here:

I search the net, some posts said, If G1 has flashed with SPL, it cannot update radio again. Otherwise it will turn your G1 into a brick.
I don't know, if I could update radio directly or have to do some other operations.
My G1's voice (My friends always tell me my voice from the phone is not clear, seems in a very noisy environment) is not so good. Radio version seems out of date.
Any suggestions? Thanks very much!

Thanks very much for the URL to download all the files.
But I still don't know, if I should
A) Remove old SPL-->Flash radio-->Flash SPL new
or
B) Flash radio --> Flash SPL (new)
or
C) Back to RC7(Downgrade) -->Root-->Flash Recovery -->Flash Radio-->Flash SPL -->Flash ROM
which choice is right ?

Do NOT install the "2005" spl.
There is only ONE valid SPL that is better than the one you already have... 0.95.3000 (engineering SPL for ADP1).
The "2005" spl is NOT COMPATIBLE and SHOULD NOT BE USED.
You can update SPL and RADIO in ANY ORDER YOU LIKE, as LONG as you do NOT use the "2005" SPL, which you should under NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER use.
If you use the "2005" SPL, you might kill your phone!
It is NOT WORTH IT.
There is also NO REASON FOR IT.
Despite some people claiming that it is better, it is NOT, the only notable difference is that it remaps the partitions.
There is NO REASON to remap the partitions.
If you find your /data or /system partitions too small, MOVE SOME DATA TO /cache and symlink to it!
Also note: you may, with the current SPL, write the newest RADIO IMAGE. Unless you *must* change the SPL, you can leave it alone with no ill effects. The SPL will NOT affect voice under any circumstances.
I also suggest upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6.
Finally, the radio image you have installed corresponds to android 1.0. 1.22.14.11 corresponds to android 1.1, 2.22.19.26 corresponds to android 1.5/1.6. In other words, your ROM doesn't match your RADIO.
Dear lbcoder
Thanks very much for the details.
I am new to G1. The ROM installed now is a Chinese version from [hipack dot com]
I will check if the system could work properly after I flashed the Radio.
If not, I will update the ROM as well.
Thanks again for your reply.
Also thanks to evilkorn.
Regards.
I'm a little confused on some of the specifics of SPLs.
When I rooted my MT3G I used the one-click method and didn't have to worry about doing anything with the SPL.
I'd like to try some of the other ROMs out there - but I see that they either require an Engineering SPL or the Death/Danger SPL. I know that the SPL changes the partitions on the internal memory of the phone - but I can't seem to find any info on what those new sizes are.
I've been told that the D/D is an Engineering one - but that I don't need it? So I'm a little on the confused side now.
Can someone help me get some clarity?
Your spl is not a Eng one it's a Perfected spl.
Try using the goldcard method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218

1.33.0006 is a perfected SPL but as they stated, they're already rooted. Luckily with that SPL you can still use the one-click method. Ignore this post about using the goldcard method.
Eng and Death/Danger SPLs increase your internal ROM, allowing you to flash larger custom ROMs onto your phone. However, you have a MT3G which has much more internal ROM space than the G1, so you DONT need to flash an Eng or Death/Danger SPL. Doing so will only increase you chances of bricking your phone. One bad flash and your screwed. So, if you already have a custom recovery installed, find a custom rom that looks good to you, boot into recovery, perform a full wipe, and flash the rom. However, make sure you pay attention to rom specific installation instructions before you flash it. Some will require that you flash the DRC83_defanged_base.zip before flashing for legal issues, and others, mainly eclair roms, will require you to partition your SD card. Good luck! Also, I recommend using Super D, its a great rom!
Thanks sombionix!
Yeah, I used the one-click method about a week after I got the phone and have been rocking the current CM and A-Ra recovery ever since... this was late 2009.
So...
If something says it needs an Eng/D/D SPL I can ignore that and try flashing anyways? The perfected SPL that you and I have is pretty much an all-purpose SPL (for lack of a better term)? The worst that will happen is that it won't work and I can just restore a BART save of my current working CM?
Damn us geeks for being so fickle.

Pretty much. Most of the ROMs I use are for the G1, which has a smaller partition than the default MT3G. The SPL is what changes this, so if the G1 requires a different SPL, chances are it'll still work fine on the MT3G.
Awesome!
Thanks somb & cougar for the help! I'll be doing some happy flashing sometime in the near future.
The G1's original SPL, and the Engineering SPL and Hard SPL, had less onboard space to store ROMs. The Magic has more onboard space, so Haykuro took the Magic's SPL and backported it to the G1.
This was called the Danger SPL or Death SPL as you needed to be running the latest radio for it to work. Many people did not work this out till later and bricked their G1s. Now we know this, so flashing Danger SPL is not really dangerous at all.
Every Magic already has as much space as a G1 with Danger SPL, so Magic users can use any ROM marked "Danger SPL" without concern.
Hello ! In all internet there is only one normal link about it and it is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533821
but, what does it mean? This version...
And what SPL ? How can i flash another with this version? There is not any guides about... Only for 1.33.2005 and etc. 1.33.xxxx ...
hboot says:

and while booting i have Orange screen with logo MTN
This is Rogers Dream, yes?
No rogers always had a 3.x radio and a 1.33.00* spl, I think its the older orange (france) dream rom.. (thus the orange splash screen)
If its stock firmware (ie not rooted):
> If you upgrade it with the orange 1.86.73.4 ruu (avalible on orange's website) you can root it with flashreq following the rogers pre911 patch instructions..
> I think there is other ways (ie rc29 may work with a gold card)
If it is rooted no need to unroot.
i'ts already rooted, and i already flash about few month ago cyanogen 4.2.15. And i tryed 5.0.7 (for AnySPL) - all fine and work.. But now i whant to flash another SPL, and maybe radio... but don't know what version, coz in all internet there is no any guide =))
I Have usual HTC Dream ? I can flash usual danger spl ?
I'd upgrade to 1.33.2003 .. then flash the newer 2.x radio via fastboot.. if you really need danger spl that can be flashed by fastboot too..
Check this thread starting here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6510019#post6510019

No. Leave out step 3, it is REDUNDANT.
Do this instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717874
the thread has what you need to flash 1.33.2003.
And some support files to flash the lattest 2.x radio and if desired switch between 1.33.2003 1.33.2005 spls via fastboot
Always be sure however you understand what you are installing. And why you are installing it.
Particular when spl and radios are involved.. these are the lowest part of your phones software stack, if you flash the wrong thing you can brick your phone even if fastboot is more forgiving about version mismatches.
As for installing 1.33.2005 depends on what you hope to do. CM5 and CM6 both work great with 1.33.2003 and custom partitions, but to install the base rom without partition mod you will need 1.33.2005.
Hello everyone.
I used search but couldn't find it. Probably because search doesn't take under consideration 3letter words like "new", "old" and "spl".
I'm running:
sapphire pvt 32a eng s-off h
hboot-1.76.2007 (sapp10000)
cpld-12
radio-6.35.08.29
aug 21 2009, 18:19:15
1.6.2 AmonRA recovery.
Can I revert to old Radio and keep new SPL?
What should be the order of downgrade? Radio first and SPL later or the other way around?
Should I maybe downgrade them together and later upgrade SPL back to 1.76?
Any pros/cons of running old radio and new SPL? Is custom recovery a game changer in this process? Should I go back to stock recovery?
Thanks for your help. Cheers.
NO.. the spl and radio is a combo and cannot be interchanged.
Download my fastboot commander tool (magic version, check my signature) and it will do it for you the easy way :0)
And what if i saw in someones signature 3.22 radio and 1.76 spl ? just an error or a possibility?
Ask that someone...
But highly a mistake!

Does recovery version has to be old too? Or can i just keep the new one?
You have to change your recovery too, because switching the radio alters your phones partitioning scheme, thus making the recovery crash.

thanks for the info. will do as told.
hi guys again,
finally flashed recovery but I got a problem now.
As I flashed sappimg.nbh from here my phone is not Magic 32A(with 3.22 radio) anymore, its Mytouch3G S-ON with radio 2.22.19.26I and 1.33.0006 spl.
How to upgrade to 3.22(or 6.35) and spl to 1.33.2010(or 1.76.xxxx)?
cant find nothing about this
or maybe how to revert to normal magic?
Dude, stop experiments with your Magic now)) You posted a lot of text and got a lot of problems)))
Please post FULL SPL-info. All symbols are important! Absolutely...
