I was wondering if anyone was using there HD2/Leo with a mac running snow leopard if so which application are you using? I have tried using syncmate with an old elf (touch) but it does not work! I'm not sure if that is because I am using snow leopard or it is running 6.5.....or that it is a cooked rom!
Hoping to switch from an iPhone back to HTC so if anyone could help me out it would be great!
Syncmate 2.4 works great..
SyncMate 2 (built 2.4.0.868) works fine for me.
I'm not running Snow Leopard (I'm on OS 10.5.8), but I doubt that would cause any problems. Possibly a problem with your HD2 rom then?
Ok great thanks! I haven't bought an HD2 (yet) but if I can't make it sync up it seems pointless, as syncing via google seems a very inefficient way of doing it!

Are there any other Mac users out there with XDA II's or is it just me.
If there's anyone else, have you guys tried PocketMac or MissingSync yet ?

Hello. I am using a mac! I am new to PPC, I switched from a P900
I am using pocketmac, It works great. I need to figure out how to use this as a bluetooth modem.
Matthew
im on a mac (ibook g4 12 inch) and i love it
i was a pc user for the last 12 years till i got the ibook, and as its going right now, my next pc will probably be a dual g5
anyways...
sucks microsoft doesnt make sync software for it, but ms did buy a shipement of g5s recently for testing virtual pc, so who knows.
i dont care to sync my phone with entourage or anything, my phone #s are stored on my sim card, and i use a sandisk cruzer to transfer music to it
i have used pocketmac 2.0 demo, and its cool, but it wont let u use the xda 1 as a modem, so its pretty worthless for me
dunno... my 2 cents thow.

What about installing apps from a mac ?
According to Pocket Mac, they provide an app which extracts .cab files from the .exe files which you download as installer files for PC's. Does this cab extractor work every time ?
I'm currently using my daughter's PC to install apps and I have to say, ActiveSync blows bigtime, so I really need to dump the PC connection and setup a Mac one !!

I can not install the Apps from my Mac, I need to use my PC
syncing with missingsync on mac
Anyone get missing sync to work on the mac? So far we cannot get the Qtek 2020 to be recognized on powerbook g4 17" as a volume in isync so missingsync can do its thing. Cradle doesn't seem to work nor does usb cable.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, but has anyone actually install .exe files on the XDA WITHOUT using a PC and only using the supplied CAB extractor ??

Friends of the newest and hottest,
i've been pretty satisfied with Blueangel, but nevermind: I absoluteley had to buy the Universal once it came out. Now I have it, and I'm stuck with getting all the stuff to work that worked before.
My toughest one so far is EWallet: Even after updating to eWallet 4.02, that supposedly works with WM2005, i seem to be unable to get the SyncPro with the desktop application to work. An Error 400a appears ... mor detailed:"Communication init failure: CeRapiInvoke: 0x80070005"
Does anybody have experience with that? Appreciate any comment.
Cheers, j
PS: The Update of eWallet shows version 4.02 on the jasjar and 4.01 on the desktop ... the update is for the client only it seems ...
I am running and using the version 4.0.2.1116 on my JasJar... works very well
sure. works fine locally. but can you sync with your pc?
(ps: this is my first message typed with the keyboard. I begin to like this thing
I don't use the eWallet sync feature, but just file sync. That works fine. I suggest you do the same, unitil Illiumsoft has fixed the issue. Version 4.0.2 works fine on its own on WM5, but the sync feature is technically a seperate application. WM5 has changes substantially in relation to this.
OK. With Filesync it works fine. Thank's a lot.
As an Apple certifid tech I use OS X in my day to day comings and goings
But your BA is windows mobile Ether42 what ever shall you do
....... And in comes The =Missing Sync= .............
(get it the missing sync, oh those clever software devs)
any way synced up my ical adress book and a few other things w/o a hitch
Still have to use xp for rom upgrade but everything else worked fine
I dont work for the company that makes this prog. but i would highly recommend it to any one wanting to use WM w/ OS X
Hello friends. I am waiting to buy the HD Blackstone here in Greece. I am a Mac user Mac OSX 10.5.5 (Leopard) and as i have read in the net no one has a working 100% way of synchronizing. Does anyone used a way to sync the HD successfully yet? Thank's a lot
http://www.markspace.com/
This is working fine with my HD as it has done with all my Windows Mobiles..
I can confirm it works great with missing sync under OS X
You can aswell install cab files from it.
You mean with Missing Sync for Windows Mobile? But in the supported devices there is only HTC touch. Did you try sync mate?

it works with all the windows mobile 6. it is just a standard program that run on your mac.
It will require to install a cab file on your phone.
I've tried it with HTC touch Diamond, Treo 750 & Kaiser.
Haven't tried with the touch HD as I don't have it.
Very tempted to buy it but still love my iphone 3G.
cab file? Thank you!

yup, once you connect to the software, it will push a cab file to be installed.
It is straight forward.
Thank you again mate!
sync htc with mac os x
can anybody suggest a free sync for htc mobiles with mac os x?
Thanks inadvance
Use SyncMate (Freeware) or
SyncMate Expert.
Much better than missing sync !!!
Your pocketpc connects on internet via usb or wifi as simple as activesync connection...
I agree, SyncMate is probably the best way to go.
I have only tried the free version and it takes like 3 hours to sync a couple GB worth of music so it might be worth it to pay the $10 USD for it.
Missing Sync has a couple nice features but costs $40 USD. I tried out missing sync and it messed up all of my system settings such as ringtones and notification settings, etc. It is nice though because there is an option to convert any .m4a files to a type that is readable by your phone where SyncMate doesn't have that option.
I have also tried DoubleTwist which is supposed to be nice and it is free. It completely messed up my phone though and I ended up having to format both my phone and SD card to correct it.
try syncmate
Hi there,
I got my Incredible last night via FedEx...love it! One thing I haven't gotten to work yet is the HTC Sync. I got HTC Sync 2.0.5 installed. But when I connect my Incredible via USB in Sync mode, it doesn't find HTC Sync on my computer.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
Thanks,
-aj
HTC sync on win7 64
Works with mine, Win7 64 on a laptop. You need to turn on sync on your phone. I originally had the same issue but upon investigating the contents of some of the settings I found the switch.
Win 7 64-bit
I'm using HTC Sync on Win7 Ultimate and Win7 Home, both 64 bit and no problem syncing.
I have it on 32 and 64 windows 7...Did you set it up from the phone? I did and it worked well.
Can some one post the HTC Sync for down load? I have looked in my phone and found the drivers you guys were talking about and they installed on my home computer. At worrk I try the same thing and the drivers are gone from the phone.

How do you get the phone to only update the calendar? I do not want the 83 contacts from work on my phone.
sync download (proverbial horse's mouth)
Not to imply that anybody on the 'net would possibly modify the contents of another's software for their own ends, but ... call me paranoid.
Here is the sync software download, directly from HTC:
[Edit]
Visit htc.com/us/support/droid-incredible-verizon/downloads/[no longer a url, 'cause forum admin(s) appear to be as suspicious of the 'net as I]
AND, just an afterthought... are there differing versions available for 32 and 64 bit machines? I don't know, since I use my own methods to poke around my Incred (still having' fun).
I'm a "junior" member? Such a new sense of belonging, for such an old hack.
