hi all.. i have a big problem :\ my phone dropped and the power button is broken :\ it gets stucked.. and is always disconnecting / connecting the phone errr
is there a way to assign a new button to power button ?
in android or win 6.1 ?

my htc's power button not working... so is there any software which can do the same work as power button do... or any software which can replace the power button feature with another button.... plz... help...

If you know that ur power button is gone... then u can map ur camera button to Slide2Shutdown

Go to start -> Settings -> Key Lock -> Do Not lock buttons.
and then pressing either of call, end or camera button will make ur device on again
hey! it works fyn when i use it within 1 min, it switches on my fone, bt when i use it after 1 min... it doesn't do nething... plzzz help me...

Not sure mate what is messing up... i tried same in my device and works perfectly... I also changed my power settings to turn off my device after 1 min of inactivity but still camera/call/end call buttons all are working normally.
if nothings helping i have created one app which turns device on or off. But it is not a cab( made it in offc ) so u need to copy it and create a shortcut in ur programs. and then link the camera button to it.
If still not working... remove the app and take the phone for soem servicing

my power button is broken on my touch hd! tried to fix it and nothing is happening. hard reset the device as i thought it could be a rom issue, still broken.
does anyone know a way to remap the power button to say the top volume key?
at the moment i have the device not turning off and have adjusted the backlight but this is not ideal as it will be eating up more power than when the device is in suspend mode.
any help appreciated

i hav htc touch gsm and now its power button is totally dead, i was starting it from sleep mode with headphone by double pressing its button(just like we do while making calls )now the problem is that the mobile gets turned off now i want to start it is there ne alternate ways to do that ..i visited the service center they said that to recover the problem some hardware must be changed which cost me more than 50% of the moblie price....help me out guys i want to start my phone....

hi me too facing the same problem did u get any solution for this if there is some way out to shift the function on the camera button maybe i don know.
OP, what did they say needed to be changed on the phone, did you need a new power button switch or something? you could always try and source a replacement one.
If ti is the button that hits the switch is broken, maybe a new case?

I can always use an application to put device in stand by mode but is there a way to come out of standby mode without power button, probably by changing mapping to any one of the keys....Please help

I have a problem with my T3333 clone (from China, dealextreme phone) and maybe you can help me.
The problem is with the POWER button (the one on the top of the phone).
The button is working badly, it is hard to push it, and when I do (after I force it) it remains pushed and the phone attemps to shutdown (and I decline the shutdown using touchscreen).
Please:
Is there a way to solve this using a SOFTWARE solution? I was wondering any way to avoid the POWER button, replacing it with the END CALL physical button. Maybe not fully replace it, but a way to turn on and off the screen with another physical button (any other button, doesn't matter).
