I looked every where on how to remove the red numbers/letters on the bottom of my start up screen and I could not find anything to relieve this eye sore. It is not harming anything but it would be nice to get rid of it. I'm runny a official windows mobile 6.5 English version. I have no problems at all except for this start up screen. If anyone has any answers please respond or point me in the right direction who might know. Thanks
Are you talking about the very first screen when you power on? They are the radio and ROM identifiers, and I don't think there is an easy way to suppress them. They should only appear for a few seconds though, any longer and you have a problem.
If you start using custom ROMs that information is very helpful, so one day they may be of use to you!
Here is the detail of those Text for your Reference:

I have upgrade the software, wm6 or wm5, radio from 1,43 to 1,50, ri-unblocked. nothing. the problem remains.

If you look at the list of posts near the top you will see a sticky post called "search XDA-Dev using Google" all you need to do is enter a few key words like white screen.
As an example here are the results I got. The one top of the list is relevant:

Hi,
lot of users had reported the Screen Bug:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9_1BAiU_7k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNv8FMy_mVU
This bug will popup your starmenu when:
- you are using "huge" thumb while tapping the display (xt9 sms writing for example)
- cpu is overheating (because it's near the diplay area)
I'm working to solve this issue via software.
Project moved to my website:
http://www.xiaprojects.com/?section...ols&action=HTC Trinity - P3600 Screen Bug Fix
Changelog:
0.0.10 Bugfix, now work on all WM6.1 themes and also new "Transparent" feature make it invisible! a good starting point to put TopBar by default in P3600 roms
thank you!
Sounds great! I have this problem so I would be keen to find a solution. Good luck and thanks in advance!
Exellent project.
Im testing now
Great program.
Since i've installed it, i have not been able to provoke the star menu poping up. Usually I could provoke it by randomly tapping the today screen, but not anymore...
This has been the most annoying bugs of the telephone, and i'm very happy that it seems to be fixed...
Thank you so very very much...

10x a lot stefanux ) i've started the TopBar program and tried it , wrote down a couple of e-mails and sms'es, and the start menu did not pop out even once , thank you again for your work
hmm.. i thought its a hardware issue? i used to have start menu problem.. sent in for screen replacement.. now my camera pops up from time to time ha..
ha! All this time I was wondering why my battery status kept popping up at random.. I never thought it was a screen problem. Maybe on my next disassembly I can sand down the bezel or something.
Stefano,
I am wandering if this program need to be place in the startup folder so that it will get started ? (please forgive me if you think this is a silly question).
Thanks for the great problem.
stefanux .... Thank you !!! although your intention was to let us capture the false pressure coordinate and feedback to you, somehow after running your little proggy, like the others i was not able to reproduce the start menu problem anymore. fyi, i did manage to reproduce the problem right before i start your little proggy.
will report again if the problem comes back after a soft reset Hopefully, this would make this most annoying problem go away.
again, thanks !
perfect
Hi,
good work, it just perfect for me, finally got rid of this only unbelievble bug.
thnks.
grate work
Excellent Tool! Thanks for posting it. Is there a way to prevent you from running it multiple times. Since you don't see anything on screen you are tempted to keep clicking on it - since your not sure its running. Maybe the second time you click it can popup saying its already running. But otherwise this thing rocks.

hi again, finally i manage to reproduce the start menu drop popup thingy. somehow, its harder to reproduce when your program is active.
However, manage to capture the coordinate of the fake pressure, 4 out of 4 time 0:0.
Hopefully this helps
omg, if this works..it will solve one of the biggest headaches (unfortunately, not all) i have with this phone!!!
Edit: Running this app and randomly touching the screen still results in the start menu popping up. I've noticed someone saying it works after a while. Does that mean this app takes some time before it can adapt to the pressures being applied at the start menu? Also, what is TopBar-diags.zip for?
Good !!!

Try 0.0.3 when ready, diags may help to find which coords are "fake"
I'm using the diag version. Oddly enough, even when the start menu pops up, the box where it displays the coords is still labeled with "Start!".

hi stefano
just a minor feature request is it possible to fix the big for landscape screen orientation as well?
i notice another prob.. usually i ignore my alarm (default wm alarm) on my trin, but when i woke up in the morning, i can see the notification blinking between calendar & notification.. i'm annoyed with that problem.. is it normal?... can someone point me how fix that?..
After installing the update from TMO, The little bar that flips between mail, home, internet, images, music, etc. "shrinks" into a little black tab in the middle of my screen at the bottom.
This is super super annoying because it takes an extra effort to click on the damn thing and then slide my finger to scroll. This also requires a second tap on the screen when i go to browser because the first one simply 'collapses' the little thing and the second one will actually respond to the internet icon you're tapping on.
Tell me there's a way to turn off the collapse of this stupid thing. I tried looking on here but I don't know what keywords to use to search this out. Something like 'htc sense update hd2 registry change' yields nothing.
TIA

It sounds to me like you have cookies home tab enabled?! That is strange are you sure you didn't flash to a custom rom?! I have that one my phone and I have the update but the only way I was able to get that was with CHT. I have attached examples.
Yep! I do have cookies home tab installed! Dang..so is the setting in that to change it? :bangs head:
I'll take a look.
WTHAT A MORON. Thats its. The 'retractable slider' setting. I can't believe I didn't realize that was cookie and not HTC.
Thanks a million for pushing me in the right direction.
Awesome! Glad I could help! I had that enable for a while but it became a little annoying so I took it off! Hahahaha it does make it look really cool!
Hey, thanks for the info. I'm glad I learned about that.
I also have Cookies, and didn't know about that.
Now I have just enabled that feature. Why? I don't find that "ribbon" at the bottom very useful, as it is not very customizable. Nice to have the settings button there at the right, but one can also do that with a Quick Link. I like the music app, but one can also do a quick link for that. Withouth that ribbon, there is room for another row of quick links. (I find it unfortunate that that "ribbon" is so uncustomizable. You cannot choose what is in it, but only what to remove (other than settings and home). (I don't really need that home icon either, because there is a hardware button for home.) I don't like how that "People" tab goes to "HTC People". I'd rather go straight to the regular contacts list. But it can't be changed (AFAIK), only removed.
So by retracting it, I remove the whole thing (can slide it back if I want), but can put the links I like in that ribbon into quick links, for which there is now more room.
Thank you.
Hi I know there is an excellent app out which allows a little red square to appear on the screen when you get a notification.
I miss a notification led but was thinking could the lights for the touch buttonds be used instead, I was thinking used the menu button for email/text messages and the back button for missed calls as they kind of look like the right sort of symbols anyway, plus the screen wont need to be turned on at all ( the screen does produce some light when it is only a black background)
I will be taking tomorrow off work to attempt to learn android and possible make a simple live wallpaper but if anyone can point me in the right direction I may look at doing this also
a simple search pops up the original topic
"noled"

and then the exact same thing you asked is already on this other post

Hello.
I've been using this certain ROM for quite a while now, and today I decided to try other roms for my HD2, while not making backup of this one that I had used. Not being satisfied with any of the roms I tried, I decided to go back to the old one, just to realize I have no backup of it, nor I know the name. So I need help finding it. I've tried a lot and this one was the most responsive/fastest/most stable one for me, so help is greatly appreciated.
Now, to the things I remember about it, hopefully someone will recognize which rom I'm talking about. It was pretty minimalistic, it was nothing fancy like most of the popular roms now. Came with a greyish stone wall like home wallpaper, there was no google search widget at the top of the screen by default (most roms have that, as far as I noticed), had 5 icons (shortcuts) in the very bottom of the screen, all grayish/whitish. There was 3 home screens you could scroll around with by default, and also the same way you could've scrolled those 5 shortcuts. When nothing was assigned to the shortcut, like when you first scrolled to the next screen, there was a plus sign (+) of the same color as all other. I'm not sure but I think the internet browser shortcut had something like a detective's head silhouette (like a side shot). Could've been a globe, too, looked like a head to me.
The battery levels showed in percentages in the upper right of the screen (without the % sign), with white dots around the white number (percentage) matching the percentage showed. The messaging was set up so it was divided in threads, and each thread looked the simplest it actually could. It said "Me: <my message>" for my sms and had the same format for the other person in thread (in new row, of course), all went left to right, no fancy iphone ballons showing me on the right side, them on left. And it had time stamps underneat the messages. By default only time for today, and date (without timestamp) for any other day.
If I can provide any more information, please let me know. Thanks for reading, hopefully someone knows what rom this is about. I'm not sure how I got to that rom, but I'm guessing it was popular at some time (maybe still is) since it worked flawlessly. Even if it reminds you of some rom that isn't this one for sure, let me know.
Edit: Remembered something, it's big I think. On boot, that animated screen containted while we wait to boot looked like a cube, rotating and disappearing, as if it was made of water, like spilling in the air, or sprinkling. Also not sure, I think it had a letter H on each side of the cube. Also, I'm willing to bet it was gingerbread build.
Edit2: Solved. It's the latest hyperdroid, sandy scorpion.
