As far as I know nueDynamic Clock only works for the older chipsets. As Snapdragon has a different architecture it might not work. But not entirely sure.

Something similar ...
It is not working , of course .
I tried myself , and it can`t be instaled.
But some similar soft , or registry tweak ?

Chalenge for chefs !
Every new Rom release is focusing on Speed and stability , but not a SINGLE one on batery life !!!
Why is that ? Is not Important to you to have an extended period of uptime for your device ?
Here is a chalenge for you Chefs !
Develop a stable Rom with low consumption and great batery life !
Thanks !

the toshiba tg01 has a built in application to do that if we could extract it it will be nice

Anyone ?
Nothing yet ?

The battery life on this phone is pitiful. The phone is professional liability without a spare battery or charger on you. Which totally defeats the purpose of making it slim.
If you cant travel without an extra batter or usb cable then HTC should have just put a bigger bulker battery in.
What happened to practical design. The phone has to function above all else. If you want snapdragon processing (which we all do) you must have a large capacity battery.
Nobody who owns and HD2 can expect to get through a full day of using the phone without the need for juice. I run out of power every single day and I am constantly enabling the in flight wireless shut off to save power.
Which of course means I risk missing phone calls.
Beyond that (and the audio lag) its a great device. Its just not ready for everyone yet. It operates like a prototype for a great phone for me.

I get 3 days out of mine from a single charge. I don't have any push services or overly regular updates. Apart from 1 email account that checks every 15 minutes, I set the others to every hour, set the weather update to every hour and set MyPhone to only run once a week. I was always a little cynical about people saying they could get longer than a day out of it, but then I actually tried it and it works.
Anyway, back to the OP. From what I've read on here, you don't need to "under-clock" the CPU as the chip only runs at its required speed - that's part of the Snapdragon design. Like I said - I'm just repeating what I've read on here.

...but it's already under-clocked during normal usage.

A suggestion , if I may :
A new version with dynamic change : when the phone is locked , the cpu goes 200Mhz , when unlock 1000 Mhz !
Is it possible ?
Thanks again !

Battery Drains to early!

hey people tell me what could be the problem?? My battery drains all in a day or sometimes i have to recharge it twice in a day, but without any use it drains in two days?? what do you think is the problem?? Is the Battery Weak???
Second if i wont to buy a new battery how many mAh should it be?? My current is 1250mAh. Would a 1800mAh be of the same size as this one? will it work and fit fine in the case??
Please do reply. Thanks in Advance.
First, some more information is needed:
Are you overclocking? This is the single most likely candidate for faster battery consumption.
Are you running anything that requires a lot of processor power? Animations like the TouchFlo Cube and PointUI are hard on batteries.
How old is the phone, and subsequently the battery?
Are you leaving a lot of programs active but minimized? This can also hit the processor harder, which results again in faster battery drain.
With regards to battery replacements, I will let someone with experience in that area give you suggestions (and I will eavesdrop, because I have an old phone and am concerned about replacement myself...).

1. Im not oveclocking
2. Im running Touch Commander Suite
3. My Phone is 2 years old.
4. I leave no program minimized except one tht runs in background.
Now what can you advice?
The 1250mAh is the standard size battery for the Wizard. Anything bigger than 1250mAh will be thicker and need a bigger battery cover. I replaced mine with a new 1250mAh after 18 months of use because I didn't want to make my phone any thicker.

How much time does your new 1250mAh battery takes to discharge:
1.When nothing spcl is done except reading SMS or Calling?
2.When loads of work is done like listening songs, watching videos, using Wifi/GPRS?

How about WiFi? Do you leave it on? How about GPRS? Both radios are power-hungry, and should be shut off while not in use. Sure, it means a little wait on starting programs that require a connection, but it also means having enough battery to finish what you're doing. Which, if you've ever been lost in a strange town without a Thomas Guide, you'll agree is damned important.
Short of that, and the obvious (and relatively cheap) alternative of buying another battery, I have to point the finger at Touch Commander Suite.
Run Task Manager 3.1 (Dotfred) on your device. If TCS is using less than 5MB while running, I'll eat my hat (you'll just have to trust that I've eaten it, though... ). More crap in RAM means less battery life. It's not as dramatic a drain as the WiFi radio (the worst culprit of all), but it's probably in the top 5.
1.I dont leave anything on when im not using it.
so What would you say? should i remove Touch COmmander and install SPB Mobile Shell or anyother SPB software? will they be less battery consuming?
...
hasseb try a diferent rom...it may be the software that is draining your battery....anyway a battery shows signs of use after 2 years and a half....so if another rom doesn't do the trick...i think it's time to buy a new 1250mAh battery...other batteries can damage your phone because they have a larger energy output....and congratulations...you are a senior member now
Thanks for the info and thanks for congratulating me on becoming Senioe member. I guess the real problem was Touch Commander Suite, i uninstalled it but still timing is less so i have to buy a new battery.

HTC HD2 - Lower CPU clock when sleeping?

1Ghz of Qualcom CPU seems to consume a lot of energy. Does anyone know how to lower the clock when it's sleeping as HD 1 can do??? I'm asking this question 'cuz the app for HD1 does not work on HD 2 (different CPU?). Thanx in advance.
i got an entire day from 9am to midnight running video for over an hour and using the phone througout the day. the battery seems to die faster at first but that last 50% is a real stayer. i had to try very hard to make it die and i wasn;t able to do so before midnight.
it's a good idea to clock down to save power but i am not sure how much it would save and if it is really worth it.
As far as I know this is already a built in feature of the HD2

Expected battery life of DHD ?

I really like specs of DHD it seems to be really great phone. Even if it lacks AMOLED display I still think that it would be phone arround. 4,3" display should be big enough to do light work on it which would include lots of browsing, emailing etc. I just wonder what do you expect from 1230 battery? I am still sticking to my very old but precious HTC Touch Diamond which is painfully slow and battery last only like 12 hours while I am using. So with all "improvments" (better cpu tech, older display and Android 2.2) battery life should be at least as good as EVO ? Thanks a lot for your opionions
PS I know that nobody will be sure until we get hands on DHD but at least we have something to chat about until we get final release date
The same DHD ROM on HD2 with base WM ROM optimizations gets me 1.5 day worth and its not running Android directly from the phone yet.
So I would guess it will be 1-2 days with medium-heavy use
x
Cool that would work for me Just wonder why EVO battery life is short? 4G drains more energy than 3G?
Not sure of 4G but rest is like this -
GSM : More Talk/Use time & Lower Standby Time
3G/HSDPA : Lesser Talk/Use time & Higher Standby Time
Hey guys, what do you think the battery life would be without 3g on? I dont have a data plan, and dont plan to get one (yet?), so i'll be using wifi for data. So with 3g off, and data roaming off, and even wifi off, what would u expect the battery life to be with moderate-heavy usage?

I think HTC lowering the size of the battery is a big indicator that the battery will definitely last you 1 day of heavy usage... I think if they was worried about the battery life they would have stayed with the 1400..

They are using unibody design for DHD that could be also reason since EVO has classic design with removable back than I would think that physically bigger battery fits to it.
Appart from SE X10 I have never seen a smartphone of DHD, SGS, Desire etc. caliber to last more than 2 days max. Even the SGS (wich has 1500mAh) doesn`t last more than 3 days (that was the max I could get from it) although the battery is not the one that GsmArena guys used for testing, does who know about the controvers around the SGS battery know what I`m talking about. So, I don`t think it will do better than 2 days (max).
I wish at least as a marketing tactic, they should keep same size battery (1400 mAh) as Desire. It's really annoying to know you actually downsize in terms of battery while you are making a device upgrade.

From my understanding the DHD consumes less than the Desire, so even a downgrade in battery total capacity does not mean you will have less autonomy.
I hope htc gets this right, i am really worried about battery life with heavy use.. It will be more power efficient compared to the evo 4g because the 4g uses a 65nm batt + likely the screen consumes more + the 4g is a battery eater.. but still i think the battery could have been a little bit bigger say 1320mah or even 1400mah, I hope mugen power or seidio come with a battery @ around 1600mah they can make that, the legend(Unibody) can have a 1800mah battery instead of the 1300mah that gives around 30 to 40% longer battery usage time in practice!
We don't know how efficient the new chip is yet. We will have to wait for reviews. But like all modern smartphones, expect it to charge it everyday. (if you are a heavy user)

Maybe HTC is right about less consuming maybe not, we will see but at least there are many people who directly look up the battery capacity and it a downsized capacity may them prejudge and not to decide buy. I know this is not such a big probability but If I were CEo of HTC, I would definetely go with same size battery with Desire but declaration with "less consuming" compared to Desire.

i think they were forced into using that size, otherwise they would have to make the DHD fatter to fit in a bigger battery.
dont think so,
Keep in mind that the DHD has a completely new processor in it with a new GPU aswell!
tests have shown that the DHD is 2x faster then a Nexus one with android 2.2! This new processor probably uses alot less power, and thus a smaller battery would be enough for atleast 1 day.
DHD sports a bigger screen than desire. when screen is on, I 'd bet DHD would drain more, whilst it could be less energy-consuming when screen is off.
To end this pointless thread in a whip:
1: 45nm VS 65nm - you can make the maths. This alone will yield a hefty decrease in power usage.
2 (a): the (only) potential power usage increase might come from the 4.3" screen, although that remains to be seen. WIFI/BT are standard.
2 (b): in order to decrease 2 (a), disable auto brightness and set a static, lower level.
3: Another contender for battery usage might be HTC's framework+apps+services. Once you get rid of the unnecessary, you'll save quite a bit of power. Once you get recovery and use an AOSP build (I HATE SenseUI), this will further decrease power usage.
4: In order to further tune the power scaling, use an UV/OC kernel + proper scheduler ammendments (once HTC posts the source on the dev site). You can tweak the latter with in the meantime with temp. root and a user script targetting /sys values.
I guess that should cover the basics.

hey man..there are rumors spred about new chips on board from sandisk with lock on nand. there's a chance that hd2 will be as u unbox, for a long time. just hope it could be possible to undervolt the same kernel provided from htc.
Or maybe not, everything has a weakness, even the lock on nand we will just have to wait...

Battery again...

I'm on Twilight DFC ( last version with htc hub )
Rom use : 2.14.50
HSPL : 2.08
card SD : micro SD sandisk 4Go class 4
Magldr : 1.3
Use : no really ( check my mails every 3 hours , 20 sms per day , little internet with 3g.
Désactivated : my 3g, wifi, localisation for a better battery level. My emails are checking just every hour by option.
Results : 100% at 8 A.m , 20% at 7 P.m ...
The battery are very drain...
with rom 2.15.50 it is the same
rom i have use : xmob 1.3 / 1.4 , moonlight ... and.. it is the same problem.
Please help me .
Same issue here. It's about 60mA battery drain, guess something wrong in power management.
You've most likely forgot to disable bluetooth completley. There is a 60mA BT bug in some roms.
bluetooth is off, but the battery running time is still bad. What Radio Rom is definitely the best ?
How to completely turn off bluetooth? It was turned off in settings
Yes, Settings/Bluetooth disable

2.12.50 with the battery tweak found in the development subforum gives me over a day with moderate to heavy usage (games, 3G internet, 3 e-mail [email protected] min, 30 min. voice calls). In standby (only mail sync on) I get 10-12% battery drop over the night.
Wait for a few recharge cycles and it will settle. At first I got 12-15 hrs. After 2 weeks it got MUCH better.
is your batter being charged propperly?
The battery tweak sets the full level for the battery.
you must first charge the battery to its maximum level then run the reg tweak
Now here is the problem, WP7 on our HD2 will not charge the full batter all of the time. Quite often you must charge until it goes green, then reboot and charge so more, keep repeating until the HTC battery tool reports the ACR level roughly the same as the FULL level.
to give you an idea
Ive just charged my phone over night, it says its full, it wont charge any more but the tool reports it only half full, even though the indicator shows full. But my battery life will drop like a rock and may report being empty when its not.
If i restart my phone just now the tool shows a jump in ACR value to about 800mAh it then allows me to charge the remaining 400mAh.
or you might find that restarting it shows the battery is full in both indicator and ACR value
The point is, after a full charge, restart the phone because until you do the phone doesnt appear to know whats goig on wth the battery, im guessing this is something to do with the fact that the HD7 and HD2 DO have some small differences inside.
I think what frustrates me more than anything else is the sheer unpredictability of my battery performance. I have done all the tweaks and installed the battery tool but overnight in the past week I have seen the battery go down as low as about 15-20% and remain as high as 80% with a range in between (estimated values, of course).
I'm now going to try to look at my data usage to see if anything is causing the radio to work extra hard some nights and not on others.
If it was at least consistent I could then start thinking about Radio versions, management strategies and the like but while it's so variable it a bit hard to get scientific with it...!
indeed it is a bit of a pain but remember we were never ment to have this ROM.
remember though it might be unpredictable because its not full, its not as easy as it sems to get a full charge, even when htc battery tool and MS tells us its full it might not be, persistant restart and charge usually gets it done
It is definitely battery problem exists! Don't try to hide it because all that stuff you are talking here to solve that is not working! Test in 2G network without any BT and WiFi during 24h failed, battery completely drained without reason.
no one is saying there isnt a problem, there are seveal problems
The big one is you shouldnt have WP7 on your HD2, our device was not supported, you cant say the HTC HD7 is the same because it is not, largely it is yes, but internally it has differences, one of these differences seem to be the controler for the battery
To be clear, WP7 cant report the correct battery level without tweaking it, and in some instances WP7 will not completely charge your phone but it may appear full there by leading to quick battery drainage
I second that. I think it's the matter of hit and miss. I have two hd2s, and one of them has ****e battery life. Both are using the same rom, same radio, same battery optimisation technique btw.
I bought an HD7 cause of the battery drainage of WP7 HD2, multi touching, downloading from market e.t.c!
I know HD2 is better than HD7 because you can have everything but... WP7 is my thing ya know??? So if you guys liked WP7 just go out there and buy your selves an official WP7 device! Believe me i l.o.v.e it and i will stick with it!

Worse recommendation I ever saw. When first android port was released, there was huge battery drainage too but now I'm using android on my HD2 with 3 days batt life and I didn't buy new android device. So it can be fixed without wasting money.
In my opinion..Android is boring.. I know that battery life on Android HD2 is awesome but the OS is very Boring... When i flashed WP7 i said "this will be my daily OS" (i love simplicity..)... At that time i needed to charge my battery daily and i was a little bored of the hard keys and battery and stuff like that! (also i had some lost pixels on the screen) Didn't wanted to go back to Android though! So why do i have to keep my boring HD2??? Since i wanted to run WP7 as a daily OS i got my new HD7 (for 150Euro)
I am Just telling my opinion and i hope you agree with me...
I am a tech lover guy...Yesterday was iPhone, after that HD2,today HD7 and God knows what else for tomorrow!
where to get an hd7 for 150,- euro????? i'll going out and get two of them, too
for me wp7 is boring until now. almost no customization.. when you want to turn off data or wifi or bt you have to navigate through 2 or 3 menus.
and it is slow even though there are beautiful animations. (contacts open in about 2 seconds and in android it is about 0,5 seconds)
i am all for simplicity as long as you have all functions and speed.
btw battery is enough for 1 day with moderate use but forget using it from early morning and a long partynight
(camera issue still a bummer)
im all up for opinions on here....so ill give me own
Im sorry but i have not seen a more fluid and resposive device then the HD2 with WP7, iphone, android on various models even WP7 on other devices dont appear as quick as mine but thats the luck of the draw with using our HD2 some folk have had issues others think its amazing. contacts for me, around 200ish load instantly
luck of the draw
battery life is a concern still as is the camera other than that all is good

I'm not agree. You didn't notice that "super simple" WM7 consuming more energy than "boring" android? And what a point of this?
You know what, rich people always bored. I got my first iphone (3gs) just 3 month ago, and HD2 was like a gift from my friends in America.

Wrong battery percentage

Hello everybody!
I have a Note 3 N900, 5.0, L19, dr ketan rom. This problem existed even on stock, and on stock KitKat.
I have a problem with the battery percentage. The battery percentage goes down at a rate of, for example when browsing the web on Chrome, 2%-4% a minute!
Overall, the battery life is not good during to this problem, as you guys can imagine. Tried to do a battery cycle (emptying the battery and charging to full) with no success...
Bought 2 new (!) batteries, but still, with no luck.
What the he** can be the problem if not from the ROM itself?
Thank you!

Well, when the phone isn't in use, it won't lose almost much at all... It was always when the screen is on, for some reason.... The weird thing is, that I can't see anything out of the ordinary in BBS/Wakelock Detector/Battery section on settings....
Weird......

Here in Qatar they're too stupid for everything so all I need to do is install a UAE official kitkat without rooting and then giving them. Also this year on may, a hardware-wise problem happened to my Xperia tab z, and it wasn't booting up at all. I knew it was nothing to do with software, it was a hardware failure so they replaced it and it was rooted. However since jt wasnt booting up they had no way to check root. Idk if I've been cursed at or something, every device of mine needs to go to repair at least once in its lifetime. I have recently bought an HP laptop and now the screen doesn't turn off when I close the lid, it doesn't even detect the lid at all. This also hardware wise...

Can you give us more specific info about what's using your battery?
Install BetterBatteryStats and send some screenshots, this is an extreme problem I can tell. There must be something keeping your phone in full power all the time.
How hot is your device? Believe it or not, the battery gets affected extremely by heat since it Lithium-ion.
What apps do you have installed? Apps like Facebook and similar will cause consumption.
There's a lot of things that affect the battery.

According do those screenshots you have excellent battery life! I don't even get half of that. The screen of your note 3 takes up lots of power. What I can suggest is to change you max Cpu frequency to 1490mhz and go for the intellidemand governor. The snapdragon 800 is powerful enough to run smoothly with that frequency. Try it and report back if it did any changes.

Thanks for the reply!
It wasn't like that... it was more!
But as I wrote, it's a N900, so I have the Exynos, does the frequency you suggested will change?

Oh right! I'm sorry, I missed that part. But just try to underclock your CPU a little bit and you should see a increase in battery life. Just try whatever frequency you want, the only thing that might happen is a slow device (you basically can't break the phone with underclocking, in fact, it's better for the CPU). Remember to change your governor to Intellidemand or Intellimand (can't remember the exact name).

I don't think that there are working custom kernel for the 5.0 N900... shame there's almost no more development for our phone..

i have this same **** problem
Ok, even with two new batteries and a few battery cycles with them, the percentage won't stabilize... Today the battery ran down to zero, and the phone continued to run (on 0%) for about 20 min..............
After replacing the battery, I was on 100%, dialed *#0228# and did the "RUN TEST" and the percentage went down to 23%. Dialed again and it went up to 82% and charged it. I can't seem to find a godda** solution for this problem!
What can I do to solve this?!!
