HD2 and T-Zones

I have T-Zones currently and want to keep it if I go to a HD2.
First, can someone verify that it indeed does work?
How is the best way to make SURE I don't lose it.
I'm on a family plan and some of the phones have no data plan, if that would help.
No response at all?
t-zones should work on unlocked hd2. Not sure about t-mobile version of hd2.
Yes
Yes it will work with HD2.
Works on T-mobile branded HD2 as well.

It will work, but to get an HD2 requires a data plan from T-Mobile, either $15 (200 Mb per month), or $30 (unlimited download).
Once you have pure internet, why use T-Zones?
If you upgrade to an hd2 they will make you buy an internet plan and take off your tzones. Your best bet is to buy T-Mobile hd2 off of Craigslist or ebay

Just wondering does this still work for anyone? Currently have a HD2 with Android (Bought HD2 off craigslist), and asked a rep. and he said no such plan exists. Any input from any of you guys?
I still use tzones but I got tzones a while back so I'm not sure if they still offer it

No longer offer it the feature was grandfathered.

as they all said...it was grandfathered however you can try and get their web2go plan which was $9.99. you'd have better luck if you used to have it then cancelled it but try giving customer care a call.

I think they are still offering web-to-go (we got it last year for my wife's phone), but not on smartphones - they require a "premium" web plan of $15 or $30 per month.

Yeah it was available.... "LAST" year as in 2010... but it's all gone now. I think you're referring to the $9.99 "dumb phone" unlimited data plan.
T-Mobile has a new system now. All their data plans are "unlimited" but you only get 3G/4G access up to your paid quota, after that they throttle your data speeds to mind crippling speeds. Not sure how much they cripple you but at least there's no overage data charges......
Call retention to get web2go or tzone
does tzones work on locked HD2?
someone said that tzones worked on US branded hd2 but what if it's locked? Does it matter?

Actually, on the $15 per month plan, you get 2 gb, and then they charge you for each extra 2mb (as I recall, it may be 1 mb) - $1.99 per unit.
EDIT: At least, that is what I was told by CS when considering changing to $15. I actually run just over 2Gb per month, so I stayed on the unlimited.

These changes bring absolutely no overages to T-Mobile customers although customers will be dropped to 2G speeds when they hit their monthly allotment.

Yeah that's the old plan.... a quick visit to T-mobile.com would of shown you this as well. They launched the plan this week brand spanking new. I don't know why the CS would tell you about a plan that no longer exists.......
edit: Never mind..... stingy T-mobile. Apparently you can only get those new data rate plans if you're a new customer or renew for another 2 year contract.

Locked? You're using a T-mobile phone on the T-mobile network.... you're seriously confused.
"Locked", means that it's sim locked to T-mobile. It's to prevent you from using the phone with any carrier other than T-mobile.
Tzones
I have had t-zones data plan for years, upgraded to hd2 from t-mobile online, they didn't require me to get a new data plan and the t-zones plan works great on my hd2 - windows mobile or android - $5.99 / month.

That's insane, I'm in Australia on the 3 network. My carrier unlocked x10a is $0 per month on the $99 unlimited plan, I get unmetered phone calls, unmetered text and mms, voicemail and 4GB of mobile data.
America's are expensive as hell!
Yea Canadian cell phone plans are pretty BS. I pay about $75 a month for: 250 daytime min
Unlimited evenings and weekends
Caller ID, Voicemail, Unlim Text Msg pack
500mb data
Luckily im on a grandfathered plan with rogers but this is still too high IMO.

Wow you are getting hosed as well. I pay $52 a month for the same plan I have unlimited text as well, but I'm sure you do in that as well.
That's loco, I mean there's 34,160,000 people in Canada and 22,412,633 in Australia, I mean that's 10million or so people, but I can't see how they can justify that much of a difference with the mobile plan pricing as I'm sure the infrastructure is almost the same...
Although how fast is your theoretical broadband max? Cause ours is only 24mbps

[Q] Just moved to the US... and already lost !

Hi everybody...
Ok, so here's my (short) story:
I've just moved from France to the US (Minneapolis), and I brought with me my HTC HD2 (Leo) from France... and yes, it's unlocked
My provider was Orange France, and I used to pay 29€ (approx $32) for my plan, that includes 60min and unlimited data (I really don't use text messaging a lot), and that was perfect for me.
Since I just moved to the USA, I'm a little bit lost looking for cell phones plans... I have a hard time to find a decent plan that won't cost me too much.
What I need is: approx 60min for calls (could be a little more) and data (unlim. or a least 200mb/mths). Text messages are optionnal. I'd like to pay something's around the same price I used to pay in France (let's say max $35 to $39)
(I might be wrong, but it seems that US plans are really expensive... so if you have any advice I'll be very happy to hear about it)
Thanks a lot for your help !
Go for prepaid its cheaper but not good data plans...but there is Simple mobile that has good plans

Agreed, the plans here are no where close to as cheap as $35. Most providers here will make you get unlimited data if you have a smart phone, to avoid overcharges, but I don't think you'll get what you want for $32, that's crazy cheap.

Simple Mobile runs on T-Mobile. Their "Unlimited Data" is capped @ 1GB and they will terminate your line if you go over. If you don't use that much data, then go for it: http://www.phonenews.com/simple-mob...b-accounts-terminated-when-cap-reached-11989/
Thanks guys ... I'll take a look at the differents plans.
... and yes, France was a magical place for smartphone users AND internet (my internet plan was 29.99€/month, that includes really fast broadband, free phone to all countries and cable TV)
29€ is more like ~$40
virgin mobile
$25 - 200min and unlimited data\mms\txt
or 40 for 1200min
the only downside about cdma prepaid plans is they usually dont have a great selection of phones and usually phones are expensive.
but you can learn to "flash" phones..

Virgin runs on Sprint. They wont take any CDMA phones that aren't branded as Virgin. They have the Blackberry Curve 8530 for 200 and they're getting the LG Optimus V (same as Optimus S from Sprint) for 150, which is without contract.
If you want the Android cousin to your Leo, go to Sprint and get the HTC Evo which is what I have. They're still pretty cheap. Or you can buy one from someone and flash it to Boost Mobile (which also runs on Sprint. I don't recommend MetroPCS because their data is slow, however they're cheap and they will flash the phone for you to their network in one of their stores.

Well, I'm just back from downtown MPLS... asked about plans at a T-MO store, it seems they have a $29 plan for 500min calls, and a $10 plan for 200mb data, which may fit my requirements.

Tab in the UK, what service

For those in he UK what service provider and plan are Julie using? I was just in Norther ireland and stoped by a orange dealer and asked what voice plans they had for the tab and all the Guy told me was that they had data plans and was not sure if a voice and data plan as available.

Can you buy an android or smartphone plan?
I use prepaid SIMs in my Tab.
I seldom use voice, so I have a TMobile SIM at the moment with their 6MONTHWEB booster which gives you 1GB a month for 6 months for 20 quid.
Also, when I travel in Europe, TMo has the least unreasonable data roaming charges - £10 per 50MB, which is enough for emails and light browsing for a few days.
If I was going to put my Tab on a postpaid plan, I'd go for Three's One Plan, which gives loads of minutes and truly unlimited data for £25pm.
Regards,
Dave
Brought my Tab from CPW, then I got a £10 T-Mo rolling sim deal. 100 mins, 300 texts and unlimited data.

[Q] The best pay as you go in US

Hi everybody!
Looking for some advice from US members.
I'm gonna travel in US for almost a month: couple weeks at Hawaii and couple weeks for LA, SF and NY.
Could somebody suggest a best pay as you go plan for this trip not for calls but for unlimited data or something looks like unlimited. I got Nexus S 3G. And is there this roaming prices or it doesn't matter where you actually is in US?
PS: Surely I can look through all the networks websites but I just thought that locals should know this and the answer won't take much time.
Thanks!
T-Mobile USA offers a no-contract package for US$30 a month that gives you 100 minutes talk, unlimited (to the US) SMS and unlimited 3g data (speeds throttled to 2g after 5gb use).
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/monthly-4g-plans
Nationwide coverage, roaming included. You might have to pay the activation fee (usually US$35) but that's about the only option in the US that is GSM, works with any unlocked phone, and offers what you're looking for.
Thanks a lot! That's what I needed
Cheers!

This won't work for a Nexus S though (Boost is CDMA I believe)... and the shrinkage wouldn't happen for a long time. I'm on the $30 a month T-Mobile one and it works great! Make sure you have the right radios for your phone to work on T-Mobile though. Also, the plan does come with 4G (at least if you consider HSPA+ 4G...). Otherwise, AT&T will give you 500 MB on prepaid for $25 a month and you can combine that with a few options for text and talk. The only problem with the T-Mobile deal is that it is online only (unless you get it at Walmart), so you will have to go a few days without service while you wait for your sim to arrive.

IS there some special radio required?
AT&T with 25$ for 500 Mb is not even close to T-Mobile's offer.
Probably I have to order sim few days prior arrival. Does Walmart always have these sim's in stock?
What I didn't get is how to buy this plan. There is no option to buy simcard with this plan. So do I have to buy just simcard without a plan than activate it and choose a plan? If so why I can't do it by buing sim at tmobile office?
There are Walmart stores all across the country. When you buy it there they'll give you the activated sim right there in store. US GSM carriers toss the sim in free when you buy the plan... part of the activation fee. And no special radios required. T-Mobile uses the international 3g bands. Its at&t that uses weird frequencies
