blue LED and nothing more - G1 General

i have this white g1, and it doesn't power on. when i press the 'power' button, all that i get is the blue led and nothing more... any ideas?

I think it something hardware related cause when I busted my long coax I had the blue led on also ( I actually started a thread about the blue led last summer ), when I fixed it it still came on but flickered, the keboard backlight and the camera is also dead on my G1 so it might have something to do with that.

it's actually really funny.. the phone eventually booted up....
after about 50 attempts of power on -> remove battery... it eventually booted

there you go

Blue led mode happens when you power on with the trackball button pressed in.. maybe it was stuck?

Crazy volume problem

Basically, it is as if the top volume button is held down, and the volume is continuously going up on my HD, even when I try to turn it down, it shoots back up again, and is stuck on the volume screen. Sometimes, if I turn it down to silent, it will stay silent for a few seconds, then the volume goes up again and keeps going up.
Really annoying as it means the phone is basically unusable as I'm pretty much always trapped in the volume screen!
Any ideas?
I would suppose that a button is stuck!
Take of the back cover and take a good look at the buttons to see if anything could be wrong!

That's what I thought, but it looks fine to me
I had the same problem as you but I then realize that when I was putting down the volume while in a conversation was my face pressing the screen and increasing again the volume...could it be your same problem?

Nope, because it happens if I don't touch the phone and just leave it on the table
Have you tried a hard reset?
Do a backup first.
Turn off the phone. If you can't pull the battery out.
Hold the volume up + down at the same time then press the power on button for about 1 second. Let go of the power button while keeping the volume up and down still pressed down.
You should see a blue / green / red screen then just follow the instructions on screen.
If this doesn't solve your problem then most likely something is keeping your volume up button depressed internally. Take it back for repair...
The volume slider malfunctioning is a big one on HTC devices known issues. I've had the same problem with my elf....and I've seen plenty that do too. Your best bet would be to take it to an authorized service rep. Sucks I know
Try to remove the cover and use it... the pressing mechanism is on the cover...

Tried that, still the same problem.
I'm going to try a hard reset today, if I still get the problem, going to ask Orange to replace it. I wonder if they'll let me pick another phone, I'm getting a bit fed up with the HD!
I have the same problem, it occurs randomly and I discovered that if I quickly press the power button to stand by the phone and press it again to exit from stand by, the volume bug disappears and phone starts working well again. I thought it was a software bug but I still have it on 1.19. It rarely happens now on 1.13 was more frequent.

BackLight- no light working!

Hey guys,
I changed my previous phone because the grey was going to pink...
Now i have a new phone, and is great and all...
BUT
the "back" light does not work! when is supposed too!
Any ideas?
Apologies, I'm struggling to understand what you mean.
Back button, light never goes home? Do you mean the back button light never goes out or do you mean the button never takes you to the home screen? I also don't know what you mean by light on for home button, as the home button doesn't have a light.
EDIT - I think I have caught onto what you mean. Do you mean the screen light?

I think he meant the "Back" button that receives no backlight - seems to be a defective unit. Return the phone.
damn,
I wonder how many devices i need to change to get a good versions!
I see you have now added a photo. That is definitely a defective unit - the menu button should never be lit without the back button being lit at the same time.

Might be bricked... need experienced opinions.

Ok, I have a T-Mobile Mytouch 3G (Magic) which was Rooted. I used FastBootCommander to flash one of the Gingerbread .zip files and it failed.
Now, I can't even boot the phone. If I remove the battery, then replace it and hook up my PC cable, the amber light comes on. If I then hit the power button, the amber light goes off and nothing else happens, and at that point I can only remove the battery again to get the amber light to come back.
If I hold the trackball and hit the power button I get the blue light, but I still
can't do anything from there.
Am I completely bricked? Any tricks I'm missing?
Hmm...
Remove battery and place it back after 5-10 seconds. It can help when phone is bootlooping.
Then press and hold Back + Power. Phone will start into fastboot-mode
Other combinations:
Home + Power (recovery)
VolumeDown + Power (hboot)
If any combination will success - hardware is working properly, but need ROM)
None of the combos are working except for Trackball + Power, and that only
gives me the blue light.
totally bricked i think
your case like mine before,if we plug charging and push power button, light goes off..
all you can do is JTAG i think..
Yeah. A brick.
McCordRM, what files did you flash? I will analyze them...
JTAG do
success with JTAG,

Try connecting your phone to your computer and sending adb reboot recovery or adb reboot bootloader through cmd with the drivers installed.
sounds like your device has managed to get into qualcomm diagnostic mode. not sure how to get out of it but use the search bar and see what you can come up with. good luck
This might help, but download different Wildfire-specific firmware, not the one mentioned in the post. I'll have a look to see what they want.

[Q] Won't power on

My N4 won't power on, at all. I've tried doing the fix where you hold power and volume down and plug it in, and it'll go to recovery, the Google sign, then it'll power off and flash a single red light before going dead again. When I plug it in, without touching any buttons, one red light flashes then nothing else happens. Oh, and I've kept it charging for 2 hours and nothing different has happened. What's up with it? Did I brick my advice?
