[Q] Won't power on - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My N4 won't power on, at all. I've tried doing the fix where you hold power and volume down and plug it in, and it'll go to recovery, the Google sign, then it'll power off and flash a single red light before going dead again. When I plug it in, without touching any buttons, one red light flashes then nothing else happens. Oh, and I've kept it charging for 2 hours and nothing different has happened. What's up with it? Did I brick my advice?

Something Weird Just happened...

So I started writing this post as I though my phone was bricked. Anyway the story:
So, I'm calibrating my battery. Battery was totally flat so I plugged into AC. Was working on assignments and watching TV for about 40mins answer phone call talk for 10mins (still plugged in) go watch TV for about 30mins come back, all the button lights are on. WEIRD. Red led Flashing. WEIRD. Press power to unlock. Nothing. Press power again nothing. Hold Power nothing. Power + Vol = Nothing. Oh sh!t. take out power, lights go off. Try to power on as before = nothing. Oh crap what now? Take out battery, sim and sd. Replace battery after 15 secs. Power on nothing. Plug in lights come on again. Power = nothing. Eventually after stressing out for a little while and repeatedly unplugging and plugging in. It booted into charging mode. and now weirdly all my GO widgets (and only the GO widgets, not facebook, etc) are gone WTF is going on.
this is so weird that no one has experience....
I just had a similar experience. I was charging my Ideos x5 on front usb connector of an old computer. I guess it didn't had enough voltage because the phone suddenly went dead. And than ... led blinking red and softbuttons started glowing on and off. When plugged in normal charger for a couple of minutes, the led changed colour to normal and there was a picture of battery on the screen.

Might be bricked... need experienced opinions.

Ok, I have a T-Mobile Mytouch 3G (Magic) which was Rooted. I used FastBootCommander to flash one of the Gingerbread .zip files and it failed.
Now, I can't even boot the phone. If I remove the battery, then replace it and hook up my PC cable, the amber light comes on. If I then hit the power button, the amber light goes off and nothing else happens, and at that point I can only remove the battery again to get the amber light to come back.
If I hold the trackball and hit the power button I get the blue light, but I still
can't do anything from there.
Am I completely bricked? Any tricks I'm missing?
Hmm...
Remove battery and place it back after 5-10 seconds. It can help when phone is bootlooping.
Then press and hold Back + Power. Phone will start into fastboot-mode
Other combinations:
Home + Power (recovery)
VolumeDown + Power (hboot)
If any combination will success - hardware is working properly, but need ROM)
None of the combos are working except for Trackball + Power, and that only
gives me the blue light.
totally bricked i think
your case like mine before,if we plug charging and push power button, light goes off..
all you can do is JTAG i think..
Yeah. A brick.
McCordRM, what files did you flash? I will analyze them...
JTAG do
success with JTAG,
last chance to wake up from dead(Bricked)

[Q] Strange red LED

Has anyone else had weird things happen while trying to manually boot into recovery? Usually I can get into recovery just fine, but this has happened to me twice now: I'll shut the phone down, then hold VOL- and PWR. But instead of the android on its back, it'll show the white Google logo. If I keep the VOL and PWR buttons pressed down, the red LED will blink several times and then the phone will shut off. If I then push/hold the PWR button, the phone boots up normally.
I know there are people having trouble with possibly bricked N4s showing the red LED - that is not what I'm experiencing. My phone runs and boots just fine. I'm just wondering whether the weird LED I'm seeing is cause for concern, or if I'm just doing something silly while booting into recovery? Am I holding down the PWR button too long and the phone thinks I'm trying to hard reset?

Nexus 4 Red light Problem

Hey, my Nexus 4 died a month ago. i have tried many things from the internet, and none of them worked.
When i'm holding the volume down + power button, and inserting the USB cable, the red light is coming up, and it's Solid Red Light, and after about 10-15 second, it disappear. i sent it to one private lab, and they didn't succeed to fix it.
what can i do??
*Note: i'm going to give the device to another Lab - but i still want to hear you people
Simulate a battery pull by holding volume UP and power button simultaneously for one minute, see if that helps get you back running to the point you can at least charge it up and factory reset.
I've had the Red light of dead yesterday because i had critical battery level and didnt charge
I responsed immediately and pressed volume down + power and it entered

And then connected the charger and pressed power button again to select START
It booted and started charging

I know this proccess, but it's not working for me!
I don't know any other fixes. New battery? :/

My phone will not turn on at all.

My phone was working fine. I was running completely stock, but rooted with absolutely no changes to anything. I went to bed and woke up and I saw the green light indicating a full charge. However, nothing happens when I press the power button. It does not respond to anything other than a vibration when I press volume up and down, plus the power button. It doesn't even start to boot or make any sound. It does not respond to the charging cord either. Nor will it respond to ADB. Any ideas other than sending it to HTC?
Try holding power + volume down. The lights at the bottom should start flashing, I think mine flash 14 times and then I get a reboot. Maybe volume up instead but I think it's volume down.
Possibly your usb-c cord is bad. Try to charge it with another cord for a while and try what silverzero said. Hold volume down and power together for a min and see if you can get into recovery.
