please advice?
i have seen people with the indicators embedded in the top tool bar.
could someone tell me which software does that?
i m currently using pocket plus.
thanks,
eric
Its worthless to have memory on display, thats why I suggest you to use Batti program for battery display. Its cool. Search Google for free download.
am using an app called mytools 1.51, i consider this a must have (for me personally).
availabe at http:\\www.micro-cheng.com
Google for "vbar". It displays a very small icon with battery and memory usage... and is on of the fastest, most light-weight taskmanager too!
don't know about the rest, but vbar 2.2 seems to be very laggy... am still using vbar 2.1
you can get it from http://www.vieka.com/download/vbar21.zip
OmgaOne BatteryPack is what you are looking for. I prefer just having the battery level using PocketPlus, it uses less realestate.
Wisbar Advanced does the job for me.

After installing MUN_RUS and LVSW roms....
The leakage is even worse them WM05 roms.
i start the day with 23 MB, and after 3 hours of work (push mail and some calls) it narrows down to 13-16 MB....
Anyone else experiencing this?
Nadav
No. I don't experience this. I have my phone on 24/7 and this doesn't happen even after long time of no resets.
Remember these are BETA roms
Unless your device was idle when it happened (which it wasn't), this is memory usage, not memory leakage.

Yes i understand,
but WM06 is supposed to improve this issue isn't it?
it is even worse then WM05.
Nadavi
That depends on how you look at it. Does WM6 free the memory when it is needed?
For example Vista uses loads of RAM in comparison to XP but that is actually a good thing and intended behaviour. Free RAM = unused RAM = useless RAM.
The only important thing is that applications get enough RAM when they need it.

Thats the issue here,
That Pocket pc software doesnt use that much, and doesnt stay resident in memory!
if so, upon closing of the software it should clear out the used memory, i was convinced that in WM06 that think is executed better then WM05.
well it isnt
anyway, about free memory, the device is being up for 13 hours now,
and 11MB free! i can't even run Navigation software.
i've installed
SPB pocket plus
SPB diary
spb mobile shell
spb phone suite
Eyron hebrew support.
Ezdial.
None of thoose are not standart software programs.
What is wrong in WM06?
Nadavi
Windows will not be unloading modules aggressively unless it needs more memory. In other words, if you start a program and then close it, memory usage is likely to change in comparison with what it was before you've started the program. If you run enough programs to really exhaust available memory, it will unload some modules it's not using. One of the reasons it's done is to speed up your program if you restart it...

I'm using SPB pocket plus to Really close each program being used.
so no software is left open.
but still, with push mail and normal daily usage i got no memory left at the end of the day.

What apps launcher do you recommend then as an alternative for SPB Pocket Plus??
I'm using SPB Phone Suite and SPB Pocket Plus :\
Almost every software that I know, is for WM5, not for WM6

Try iLauncher, but I think that it is for WM5 too Don't know any launcher for WM6
Well, they are for WM5, but most applications are also working properly on WM6.
I've tried iLauncher on WM5, but now i was thinking to try Pocket plus on WM6. The warning of LVSW is making me think twice
Any other recommendations for a good launcher?
I use SPB Mobile shell, SPB Diary and SPB weather...
I had no memory problems with these three when testing either lvsw or mUn ROM.

Is there a list of apps that are perfectly compatible with the ameo?
I have tried a few apps and utils such as wisbar advance and spb mobile shell but they seem to have side-effects which alter the the ameo's reliability.
I even had an issue where the camera wouldnt load while spb mobile shell was installed.
So if anybody knows what software best compliment the ameo please let me know!

on my side I am happy with the test with Pocket Informant, pocket slides.
Bad expertise with pocket hack master. Times bad expertise with the print software coming with the device, I think is due the wifi is a little special on athena.
Resco explorer last version creates problems -I think is due too much options on network- managing files in other network computers.
Expensepro runs fine, except the problem with the screen if you rotate it.
About hw, I own a jabra bt8010 and no caller id support, I think is a problem of the bluetooth stack that jetware doesn't solve.

I have manage to quite a lot of programs working, yes some have bug and side effect, but there is always a solution to it. Pocket hack master works too. Actually you will find most of the good application out there works fine with Ameo, there is only very small amount that doesn't work
functional applications...
The following is a list of programs that I've installed on my x7500 which haven't yeilded any problems:
- Vito Audio Notes
- CorePlayer
- PocketXMRadio
- SlingPlayer Mobile
- IM+
- pRSSreader
- Sniffi
- WiFiFoFum2
- WM6 Remote Desktop
- Google Maps (just haven't gotten the GPS to work on it)
- Microsoft Live Search
- Pocket Informant
- eWallet
- AE Button Plus
- Check Notifications (I think this caused ActiveSync to stop working so I would caution against installing this)
- Magic Button
- Resco File Explorer/RegistryAddon/FTP Addon
- SmallMenu Plus
- Total Commander
- VGAToggle (buggy aesthetics but no system issues as of yet)
- VJBigPhoner
- Gentimer (just installed and testing still)
Edit #1: Just installed 'HIMILAYA WM2k5 Screen Rotate Fix v1.1' which so far works as expected.
Let me know if you need specific versions for any listed items.

maybe you made some special thing, maybe related other sw in your athena, with it. In my case extend aditional seconds the startup and frozen it. Tested all the possible configurations of speed and memory.
For me this program doesn't provide any help on speed or performance except nice rings when start -if doesn't frozen-. Previously, in my universal it was great, but not in x7500, but obviously is my case...

mine hasn't that option (or I can't find it). It is htc x7500 and local language. Rom is 1.25.412.2. I think it manages automatically the performance under battery and not needed aditional magmt.

Don't think so. Let me know if you're interested in knowing the version of any app in particular.
Wifi troubles
I don't know if this is your case but since I replaced the jasjar with HTC I have at home wifi network access problems some times. It navigates by internet without issues but when I try to access to other pc disks shared times it sees and times not.
Some infraestructure -pc, access points, ..., no changes-
with the last version of resco explorer was impossible to share information with other pc, with the previous one is intermitent. And same problem with the software for printing in the network, times see the shared resources and times not.

I'm using Resco Explorer 2005 and having no problems using WLAN shared drive etc (other than it not remembering the password for my NAS but it always did that.)
Phoenix Studio 1.1 works, but you need to make sure you're in portrait mode and exit it before attaching the keyboard, otherwise touchscreen input goes a bit wrong and you'll have to exit the application by starting another one and going to the "Running Programs" panel.
Sounds good, too, with the speakers in the Ameo!
Pocket Commodore Plus4 works quite nicely on it for BASIC, but the emulation drops to cripplingly slow speeds when any input is used - shameful for what should be one of the fastest devices on the market.
Currently, I'm using SBSH ilauncher for the following feature.
1) Task Manager
2) Battery indicator
3) Running Programs
4) Occasionally Safe Mode Bootup
The program is pretty heavy on the utilization as well as memory.
Any recommendation smaller program with the above feature to replace ilauncher?
i use wktasks
it has all the functions and it is pretty small in memory and processes.
it's free

When I click on the start button on WM6.5 stock ROM in TP2, the program screen will appear. I use the wktask to kill the page. After this, I'm not able to get back to the program screen.
Does anyone has this problem using wktask? How do I prevent wktask from killing the program screen?

I use iLauncher (using same features that you do), Pocket Breeze and Pocket Weather, all together on my Today screen. After a fresh boot I have 114Mb of free RAM. How much do you have? What do you mean by heavy on utilization?
SBSH iLauncher 3 is not compatible with HTC Sense. It is altogether useless if one intends to continue to use HTC Sense. It only works when HTC Sense is disabled. So, for me, this is a total waste of money.
What is your experience with it? Is SPB 3.5.3 worth buying?
How's the battery life? And would you use it over Co0kie 1.7?
Why don't you try it yourself? They have a 15-day free trial, after which you can simply uninstall it, if you don't like it.
I have tried it, but I couldn't really tell with the battery. That, and if there was some glitch I didn't forsee, one that was crippling in the long-run, the 15 days I have won't mean much. I wouldn't be able to see the glitch/flaw until it was too late.
And yeah, it's a double-post, but what ROM would someone suggest if I happen to use SPB instead of Sense?
I have tried it some times ago; It was ok, nothing special but after the free trail I uninstalled it and went back to HTC Sense which I'm still using!

This one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604893. Its a lite rom with no manila/chome.
It works very similar to the Android OS, which means it's a skin that doesn't really do much other than help you organize your programs. I tried it out and I didn't see much benefit of using it over Sense.
As far as battery life goes, it eats up mine quite a bit faster than with Sense. I'm using the Rhodium.
I would highly recommend that you try it by yourself and see if it works for you. Personally, i hate Manilla and i've never liked Titanium.
I started using spb 4 years ago, on my first htc phone, the touch. From then i've upgraded to the Diamond, Touch Pro, and currently using Touching Pro 2. Guess what, i still don't like Manilla regardless.
I would recommend you check it out before anything, because you just might like.
However, if you like Manilla, then stick with what works for you. Everyone is going to post up their opinion, but in the end, its going to be your money on the line..lol..
good luck to you.

MobileShell gives your phone an Androidish feel (or should it be the other way around?). So if you like that...
I used it for a short period of time but got frustrated with it because it insists on replacing standard Windows Mobile applications with its own inferior (but shinier) versions. This is one of the main reasons I stopped using Manila/Sense
SPB's contact list and agenda view received most of my ire. If there was a way to simply launch the default applications when clicking on a SPB widget, I might have use for the software. There were other things though. The carousel is utterly useless bling, and add on widgets are very difficult to find, even off of SPB's webpage.

You should be able to put in a link to the stock applications and run those. I don't particularly like some of the Shell replacements, such as for contacts. But I use Pocket Informant, which actually has settings to integrate with SPB MS. So when I click the calendar I bring up PI instead of either Mobile Shell or Microsoft versions.
I find that SPB Mobile shell uses less battery, because it won't connect to the Internet all the time like Sense 2.5 does.

1st cab I install after every EnergyROM update. If you flash your phone at least once a month the trial on the Spb site is good enough as it's 30 days long.

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
I've been using SPB since version 2, and I like it. It's much less resource-intensive than Sense, and I get better battery life with it. I don't automatically update didily squat, so that wasn't the difference-maker in regards to battery life. If any of y'all want the latest version of SPB available fo' free on the scene, pm me with yer email. The cab is a bit under 10 megs, so it's sendable through gmail.
EnergyROM Titanium version comes with all NRGZ28's tweaks and pre-installed app choices, but without Sense. So I use that.
I occasionally switch back to Sense, but always decide that it's pretty but less useful, so always go back to SPB Mobile Shell, with MSkip's tweaks.
