Does anyone know if an app exists that you turn on the backlight, and it will stay on until you turn it off?
If you go to settings ->System Tab ->Power ->Advanced Tab you will find "on battery power" and "on external power", both have timeouts ... if you uncheck them.. then the backlight will not go off unless you press the power button....hope this helps.......
Thanks, that did the trick. That was too easy.

My exec seems to be very random with the keyboard backlight. Sometimes it works fine at night and other times it does not want to play at all.
And ideas??

You mean the backlight goes out?
There is a configuration that the backlight should be 'always on'.
I mean when I don´t touch screen or do anything the screen goes off and I have to push powerbutton to see Igo..
In iGO8 go to Settings>>>Device>1st bar, click on it until "Power Management Backlight Always On" appears.
big Thanks guys!
If have a general problem ... I do like to keep the backlight on for an infinite time (Navigation application).
When I go to "Setting" -> "System" ... -> "Battery and Backlight" -> "Backlight" - "On External Power" or "On External Power" disable everything and "Turn off Device" the device switch off the screen independently of these settings after 60 seconds.
1) How I can keep the backlight and device running "for ever" without automatically switching off?
2) In case of Dim, which button can be used to re-activate the device and keeping the current application – not switch to another application like HTC Sense…
Help please – where I can change the Backlight parameters successfully – patch, registry-hack etc appreciated – thanks.
Problem solved:
The registry key HKCU\ControlPanel\Power\Display 60 was set by an legacy application.
Remove registry key Display solves the problem.
hi guys
i've flashed my legend with the cm7 nightly build #21
now i'm facing some issues regarding the lockscreen and i hope some of you can help me with this:
1. is there any possibility to remove or switch the haptic effect while unlocking?
2. when i push the power button, the phone is not locked, because when i press it immediately afterwards again, the homescreen appears.
thx
I'm running CM 6.1 so things might be a little different, but I know there is a settings (I believe it's under "CyanogenMod settings") that lets you change the time it takes for the screen to lock after going to sleep or ressing the power button.
You might also find the answer to the haptic problem in there somewhere too.

I presume you have a "pattern unlock" screen and from there you want haptic feedback removed. For that go to Settings - Location & Security and under "Screen unlock" section you have "Use tactile feedback" option. Untick that to have no vibrations when drawing the pattern.

Go to CyanogenMod Settings - Lockscreen and the last section is "Delay and timeout". You have 2 options there "Screen timeout delay" and "Screen turn off delay". Set them both to "Immediately" (by default is something like 3 or 5 seconds) and you're done
