UPnP Client for Magician

Hi!
I am running a nice Asus Wl-Hdd
[url]http://wl500g.info/forumdisplay.php?f=78 [/url]
with twonkyvision mediaserver.
Is there a Upnp client program (like nero showtime mobile) for the Magician?
Thanks in advance!
Reflex
PS: the wl-hdd is really cool - i use it with pc, xbox and magician...
A UPnP client? How do you mean?
UPnP is the method used to allow a program to specify ports to open and forward when sitting behind a hardware firewall... not sure what application this would have on a Magician.
as far as i understand, UpPnP is used to distribute content. This content is in my case for 99% audio (mp3) which resides on the WlHdd harddisk. Twonkyvision is the server part and if you take a look at
www.twonkyvision.de
you can see the supported clients - there is also a thing called "iPAQ Mobile Media Companions". And such a thing i am searching...
UPnP isn't used to distribute content.
@elyl: Stop posting use- and senseless messages
Look at my original definition of UPnP. It ain't a file sharing program, which is what I think you think it is.
The "UPnP client devices" which that page talks about is your hardware firewall and router, not a software client, which you seem to think it is. Don't be an ass when someone is trying to help you.

VLC for PDAs? To receive TV-Streams?

Hi,
I am used to receive TV Transport or Program Streams via ethernet or WiFi from every computer in my home from my satellite receiver.
Has anyone here heard of a solution for pdas?
OK, OK vncview via a WinDOOFs-computer would do - but...
Any idea?
THX in advance

tcpmp can play webstreams, it can open some files which have urls hashed, check out the programfeatures for which ones exactly. I've played a couple of webstream in the past with it.
wouldn't mind seeing a ppc version of vlc though. Nice to see some competition.
How about winmediaencoder(PC) + winmediaplayer(PPC)
Videolan is better you can find it on www.videolan.org
Note: for windows media encoder you will have to have a propper hardware for doing brodcast.
kind regards

Video
Hi,
It seems that I am pretty stupid. I couldn't manage to get vlc working BUT Pocket Streamer Pro work without problems from the start.
I was thinking that the hardware of my S100 couldn't support vlc because the video stream started but stopped after a few seconds but if it work with Pocket Streamer Pro, I don't know.
Some advice please ?
Thanks

Windows Mobile is a basic OS and in the end if you want sophisticated aps you have to get a full OS

This was done a while ago and I used this to stream heros from an old lPay per view web site that jumped up before the explosion of free available streaming content......used to cost me like £2 a month and they had EVERYSHOW on there. All simpsons SOuthP Futurubbish, red dwarf hitch hikers absolutely everything u could think of from sci fi to commedy to anime.

Maybe someone needs to remcompile this in VS2008 maybe with our nice fast ROM from Michy we will be running at good speed?
There's no sopcast application for Windows Mobile AFAIK but you can stream sopcast from a computer using vlc to a Windows Mobile device running TCPMP.... I've been doing it for a while with my HTC Wizard (tested using wifi), HTC Hermes and HTC Universal. I'm not able to do it at the moment as I have a Tmobile G1 now which doesn't have a video player capable of viewing http streams.... yet!
I don't know how to do it using Sopcast or VLC on Windows though... I'm using Ubuntu (Linux).
To start sopcast (once installed)
Code:
./sp-sc sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/6003 9000 9001
This starts ESPN.
On the same PC - To stream with VLC (from bash shell)
Code:
MYIP=127.0.0.1
VCODEC=mp4v;
VB=64;
SCALE=0.75;
S_HEIGHT=240;
S_WIDTH=320;
ACODEC=mpga;
AB=32;
CHANNELS=1;
SAMPLERATE=22050;
STDACCESS=http;
MUX=ogg;
TTL=15;
FPS=15;
vlc http://$MYIP:9001 -I dummy --sout '#transcode{vcodec='$VCODEC',vb='$VB',acodec='$ACODEC',ab='$AB',fps='$FPS',channels='$CHANNELS',samplerate='$SAMPLERATE'}:std{access='$STDACCESS',mux='$MUX',dst='$MYIP':9005}' --ttl $TTL --loop
Change the MYIP entry to the IP Address of the computer Sopcast is running on - use ifconfig to find out what this is.
If you want to connect remotely you'll need to know your internet IP address or use a dynamic dns service. If you have a router you'll probably need to forward the ports too.
Then point your media player (TCPMP for example) to "http://[IP Address of server]:9005".

DLNA compatible player for playing media from the LAN?

I have a NAS server with Twonky media server which is DLNA compatible, so devices like the Playstation 3 can stream audio and video off the network.
Anybody knows about a DLNA compatible player for the Diamond / Pocket PC platform?
Media Player 11 for Windows Vista is compatible, se also http://www.twonkyvision.com/Products/TwonkyMedia/devices.html
I think it would be cool if I could use the Diamond as a kind of "wireless" device for playing music when I'm home!
help please
I too have a NAS server, and woud like to know if this is possible. I can not check myself, as the touch pro has not released in the US. Any help wouldbe appreciated. Thanks.
BUMP
Tversity may be
I managed to get TVersity working for playing video but the performance wasn't that great, maybe because of the transcoder settings. I need to give it another go when I rebuild my server as it is dying at the moment.
Here is how I did it:
- Install FlashLite 3.1
- Start Opera and go to http://ipaddress: port/flashlib
Navigation is a bit slow but it works. Haven't tried music but you could give Pocket Player with the UPnP plugin a go. You might need Hamachi if you are not at home
To answer my own question - I guess Lobstertunes http://www.lobstertunes.com/
could be an alternative. The GUI seems dated though and the each tune show up twice in the listings...
thought it'd be easy
I really thought it would be easy to find a UPnP DLNA Media player for pocket pc, but I was way off. You'd think this would be one of the basics these days.
where is UPnP
I have had trouble finding A DLNA/UPnP client/player that works on 6.5.x for a long time now. Can't find one that works for android either.
Quite annoying the progress windows mobile has made through all these years.
I've been looking for a media player dlna compliant for WM 6.5.3.
Finally I found pocket player 4.0 (by Conduits). One catch once the program is installed you will have to update the plugins for Upnp support. To do this goto "menu" --> "More...." --> "Options...." then choose the plugin tab..."update now".
But I have to admit it works like charm with my Iomega IX2 acting as media server. Album art is also supported.
Not for free but much better than all the junk apps i've run into sofar.

Thank you so much for this post. When the time comes to retire my TP2, I will use it as a DLNA client. I've been looking for this software for quite a while.
Would it support Plex and myPlex?

I'm on my 3rd TouchPro 2. (I went through scads of XV6600's during the six year love affair the carriers had with tiny screens.)
Would this app work as a client for Plex? Even better, could it be used remotely over the internet with a myPlex login?
