Yes folks... the one you've been waiting for... finally managed to get the patched AMSS to boot... a nice big "up your arse" to Qualcomm.
OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.
for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely **** up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:
your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

For a brand new SIMlocked (SFR-like ) Cruise, what would you advised?
CID unlock or SIM unlock first... ? The "better faster stronger ... " (Frenchy Daft Punk reference, as SFR may be the most discussed SIM locker ) method?

EDIT: as this package doesn't include any "readme" file (only includes exe), could you confirm that it does not require any process before? Is Hard-SPL update already included in this new pack?
Another detail: is there a requirement concerning the introduction (or not) of a SD and/or SIM card before updating ? And Sync or Reset (Hard/Soft) ?
A tuto of "what should be avoided" or example of "what should work" would be greatly appreciated!
If you can confirm that with a new original phone, ie. "without Hard-SPL", "without SD" "without SIM" "without reset" and only a USB sync, it's a good solution that should work, I try this ASAP! Thanks!

I was so excited that I couldn't wait for answers...
I tried this new binary, but my PC crashed/rebooted! please help!
I will try to explain as precisely as possible:
First, my system is Windows XP SP2. I was in "user mode" (not admin).
Then I connected my phone in USB, Sync (Ms Active Sync) and ran the PolarisUnlocker.exe.
Step1: I accept to flash Hard-SPL. I agree, and then the bar is displayed with 0%. My Phone asks for "accept the update" I say "yes". Then, the bar on PC is still at 0% and the PC reboots!!! After that crash, the phone is blocked on what should be the Hard-SPL screen? (a 3 color screen Polaris PFG SPL-1.00.1000 CPLD-2 with Replug USB Cable message at the top).
What should I do?
Please help, I'll do my best to give you all the feedback details.

EDIT: It seems that the only thing I can do now is removing the battery to put the Cruise OFF? Should I do a reset, and how? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've no more phone (and of course can't sync anymore to apply the process again)!
Optional question (not really important compared to that crash consequences): Do you have an idea of the crash reason?
Does this PolarisUnlocker includes an update of the ROM and Radio part? If yes, it updates the version to a newer one?

[Q] re-unlock problem. Please help

Installed WP7 successfully, and unlocked it as instructed.
However, didnt have the activation code. So used everything except Windows Live services.
Next day, I got the code from Microsoft and activated my WP7.
But now the phone has been locked, and I cant unlock it. Tried everything mentioned here like setting dates, turning off firewall etc, but no success.
When I run Chevron, it says can't connect with device.
Otherwise, I am able to connect to Zune and transfer media files.
I like the OS, but dont want to be limited by Marketplace only. I want to install apps. Right now, I cant even install from marketplace as I think there is a limit.

Before you quit on this amazing OS,,,been in the same boat as you for the last two days...just fixed not more than two minutes prior to this post.
-Hard reset your phone
-Do nothint with it besides seting up mail account (not live ofcourse or you migh end up attempting to unlock)
-resend certificate and install on phone
-make sure phone synced with zune
-run chevron as administrator and unlock!
-now deploy all the necessary setup tools,,,Connection setup, XMDMoDDeployer, and Touch explorer,,,finish set up process like you did before.
-use activation code and vwalaa!!!
And by the way,,what ever you do do not try the stop chevron Unlocking reg edit. It has been reported to be the cause of this annoying issue.....and besides you are better off unlocking everytime you wish to deploy an up with chevron than trying to do the initial rom setup and unlocking.,,,if you know what I mean.

First read this
a) Make sure you properly install the certificate from your email.
b) Make sure you run the xaps after install and extract then move the file correctly.
I would say a good 85% of cases where you either cant unlock or your phone relocks is because of the above to issues. There are other factors but the above imo are the two mains ones.

Ummm, not BS, something is causing a re-lock, but setting the PortalUrlProd and PortalUrlInt to invalid values makes ChevronWP7 fail no matter what... Read this thread: For those who can't unlock anymore using ChevronWP7, here's why!

If your phone is working in Zune and you hit the end button on the phone, you will notice ChevronWP7 will report that the phone is pin-locked, this means ChevronWP7 knows about the phone, but the "uh oh - Please make sure it's connected using USB, Please start the Zune application" message it generates is kind of ambiguous and is not the actual error we are seeing here.

That's how the phone can trust the HTTPS connection because you imported the certificate.
Now if you change the URL to something else, you will need a corresponding certificate. You can make one with makecert.exe or makessl.exe form the various resource/development toolkits out there on the Microsoft website.
In my example, I'm going to use a site that doesn't exist "developerservices.unlock.me". You should change the PortalUrlProd and PortalUrlInt on the phone as follows:

Now in your hosts. file in \windows\system32\drivers\etc folder, you should set up an entry for developerservices.unlock.me with your computer's own IP address.
Once you do you need to install a new certificate on the phone for whatever host in the URL you made and you will be able to use ChevronWP7 to unlock incase it ever locks you out again.
To simplify the making a self-signed certificate portion, I've created a cert for "developerservices.unlock.me" with the validity date of 1000 days. It's included in this post. Hope this helps you all with maintaining an unlocked Windows Phone 7 and understanding why ChevronWP7 won't unlock anymore.

I´m live in Brazil and a few days past I won one HD2 of T Mobile (1mb). Good News? maybe....
The issue is, when i put my sim card (TIM), because the T MO dont exists in Brazil, the HD2 dont ask me for any unlock code and neither splash any screen to input a code. I read several threads before put this one and I discovered two informations:
1- If my HD2 is LOCKED they must splash the screen to input unlock code when I put my TIM simcard. They dont do this.
2- In the windows folder of my HD2, will must exist Simlock.exe program. Just run it and input the code. My HD2 have this program and it´s dont run, simple like that.

Have you tried doing a Hard reset of the HD2?
To do this power the HD2 on while holding down the volume down button and then follow the instructions on the screen. Maybe this will restore the simlock.exe to working order.

I tried do like you wrote, but hold "down vol + power" leave me to the tri-color screen and stop there. Nop hard reset.

T-Macgnolia, i reach to hard reset hold up and down vol at same time and short press on/off button. I do this and nothing change. Simlock.exe still dead. Those all informations about radio, win version, etc... any clue?

Oh man I am so sorry I had a momentary laps of memory. I forgot to tell you to hold down both the volume up and down buttons while powering on your HD2. My stupid mistake I guess the sun fried my brain at work that day.

Everything points to the fact that your HD2 is already unlocked, the phone would have informed you otherwise with a popup message to prompt you for the unlock code.
I think that either the radio / antenna of your device is defective or your SIM card is denied by the network (might be that your provider doesn't allow you to use this phone). To be sure, perform a manual network scan and see what the phone will tell you.

Did you put HardSPL on this ? can see HSPL Cotulla has been installed so if not by you someone had been flashing the device before you got it.
Point of this: perhaps it has issues hence why it was up for grabs !

I discovered that phone oly works on VIVO Carrier (Brazil), so i bought a new simcard (Vivo) them now i have the mesage when try to network register: cannot register on selected network choose another network or disconnect your data connection and try again
Any knows something about it?

It has nothing to do with the phone but with your SIM card. The SIM is programmed to work only with a specific device (or group of devices). Here in the US, TracFone is doing a similar thing: you can't use the TracFone SIM in another device other than the one you bought it with.

The tool cannot recover this phone. 'Please contact technical support'.. ...
I've recently reinstalled my windows to windows 7 so l'd lost my recover in my Zune too.. ...
Is there anyway to recover the phone ?

I've called dell UK and told me my phone was a US so I have to call up US... ... I've called up US they said they are happy to exchange for phone for me providing I am in the US .... .... so back to square one ... ... but problem is, the original SD card is not there anymore... ... that's not under warranty right ?
I got friends in US but I don't want to bother them if it's not gona be under warranty unless I can get warranty stickers from ebay ?

Well you voided your warranty so you are at a loss. The first thing they are going to check is if you screwed with your SD card

Your best best at this point is to start your phone in the bootloader mode by inserting the battery and then holding power, vol down, and camera untill the image shows up of a laptop and a phone. Then download the 7704 image and extract it. Copy that to C:\Program Files\Zune. Open a command prompt there. Type UpdateWP.exe /ffu LongFileName.ffu and hit enter.

Thanks very very very much, I have a working phone now and I've updated to mango, but now I feel the same frustration as to no tether and compass as others, but I can life with it, it's better than no phone at all

After oreo screen flashes white and minimised, battery errors

I am on stock 8.0 after the update during a call the phone buzzed and made a loud sound like a siren. After the crash I used it and got message of abnormal restart. I decided to hard reset it. The phone buzzed for about 30 seconds at least and then booted giving me an error uDove to send to HTC. I sent the error and updated all apps to set up.
1. Since then whenever I wake up the phone with the fingerprint or open an app the current window goes white and gets minimised as an app would do. Or as if a pop up goes on and gets closed by an adblock (in desktop).
2. I noticed also lags in performance and battery drain.
All my apps are basic and from play store (major publishers and no games at all) With HTC support I used the phone in Safe mode and no problems where observed. I thought it was htc sense update that was causing the issues however it is not the case. I am lost and do not know what to do. The phone is annoying to use and 4 hard and soft resets did not improve anything.
I ran every check with the HTC utility and nothing significant was reported (all passed ok), During the following hardresets the bootloader gives error

Looks like partitions map is damaged (hard to read the photo). My educated guess is that you either get a RUU from HTC and let the phone recover everything fresh or unlock boot loader and install custom ROM.
Can you use superuser rights via adb in the HTC recovery mode?

HTC is sadly ignoring/abandon the U Ultra. Pity.

RUU is ROM Update Utility - it is an HTC format for update packages. Sadly, Oreo hasn't been made available by HTC.
Since (presuming) you are still under warranty (no unlocked bootloader etc.) I advise to hit the HTC service center and tell them that their OTA went wrong.
Alternatively I could only think of unlocking the bootloader and doing the fix yourself.

Whitch CID do You have? Is it single sim or dual?

I as an update the phone is getting worse the more I use it. I screen blacks out for few seconds and then back to normal. Something like voltage issues. If anyone knows the UK repair service I would appreciate the details. They are not responding e-mails and chat is not helpful at all.
It is bought with UK plug so I assume it is the ones in UK?

So. You have nothing to lose. Try to copy OTA to SD card. Clear Cache and Apply update from SD Card. Maybe it Will help...

Or downgrade to Nougat, then try with OTA again.

Hello everyone, after buying a new device (huawei) and after 4 visits to the repair center my phone seems to be replaced with another one. unfortunately the battery was changed and it is worse than ever (after a hard reset it says it was last fully charged 223days ago.
I solved the problem by doing a hard reset and not updating the google app. My last reported version (installed by HTC) is 7.17.28.21.arm64 (my device is HTC U ULTRA but same problem). After this everything else runs smoothly etc.
I believe it relates to new features of the app that change completely how it manages the device
• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• Weak connection? If your search fails, the Google app will deliver you results once you regain connection.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues with more helpful error cards when your search fails because your device is offline
• New customization options available for cards in your feed
