Wouldn't hold your breath. They missed the last release date they gave (6th october) so it would hardly be a surprise if they missed this one too.
The latest is 36 October 2009 NOt 6th or 26th !!

well obviously there is a reason the dates are getting missed. perhaps it isn't perfected yet. Perhaps it has issues they were working out. It'll come.
Official WM6.5 ROM Upgrade for Topaz is already released unofficially. Check the Sticky at the top of the Topaz ROM Development forum.
Well at least it got it's unofficial release on the 26th

I doubt it it will happen on a sunday.... but it would have been nice to get WM 6.1 on 6/1...

Anyone know of a more specific date for WM6.1 for the xv6900? Not a kitchen version... The official version from Verizon. They said late september, early october but can't give me a date... It should be soon, but not quite sure! GETTIN ANXIOUS!

Anxious? LOL!
The update from VZW won't be all that great, if anything, there may be a new custom ROM! Besides, no sense in waiting for it, you'll be waiting a while.
Well that's why I was asking about the release since the guy on the phone said sometime in the next week or so... Didn't know if anyone had the exact date... All I know is they said something about the possibility of GPS, threaded messaging and fater performance... So that's why I'm anxious...

I still laugh !
My device get a GPS signal in under 10 seconds, indoors, threaded SMS, eh.....default on 6.1, and fast, even when slow, my device is faster than stock ROMs!
Where do I sign up?! I'm new to that stuff so I'll need the readers digest version lol

HOW do you know it? Speculations!
I am waiting for the oficiella version, (modified roms here now have too many bugs) even if it takes in the autumn
But I am impressed by chef´s which has done a great job for us to test version 2.1
there's more chance of a dual booting iPad running Android 6.4

No sarcasm, I have a friend who's working at a phone house who told me. That's, by the way why I don't trust the other source who's telling everybody 16th of April (and now, like magic, end of april!).
BTW: Is it that bad that newbies wouldn't get it? People are announcing wrong dates almost everyday and my indication gets flagged somehow?
This was the only official statement from HTC regarding something new for Hero, all the rest was whishfull thinking, rumours and foolish comments:

So, the dates for Legend and Desire were very precise, a date for the enhanced experience on Hero was intentionally left open ...

The official release sounds like it's going to be June but as Cyanogen pointed out on Twitter yesterday, Froyo source is already tricking into AOSP which means between now and release, CM will have more and more Froyo features.

Engadget says they got a beta of both 2.2 and adobe's 10.1 flash player on their demo phone. If Adobe and google are sending these out, someone is going to dump the ROM and it will be available here. I'm itching for some frozen yougart...

It says here we can update OTA starting today. If I go to my phone settings and about and click on update it says I am up to date.

well this keynote isn't over yet, maybe they will mention it before it ends (release date).
the keynote isn't over. they'll announce the date at some point today.
Don't expect the release to be today. It's most likely in june.

So... you have sole rights to speculate about the release date? That's all anyone here is doing, there is not official or even leaked word about the date from anyone in the know. It's just based on Adobe's June release for Flash 10.1.
If someone posts a thread about the release, feel free to complain to them for double-posting but not the rest of us who are just helping the people that don't know how to search.

I watched the presentation and that wasn't mentioned, unless it was at the very beginning when the audio was dead.

After Play, Amazon and Expansys all had their release dates set at 11th October, they all got pushed back.
Play now states the release date as 19th October
Expansys also states the date 19th October
Amazon however pushed it back to 25th October, and now they're saying 15th November..! That's a full 5 weeks later than the initial date of October 11th!
I really hope the release date won't be as late as November, end of October is long enough!
Apparently it's down to Google not completing the testing on this device. You would have thought they would try to get this phone out ASAP, with the launch of Windows Phone 7 just around the corner. Not a very smart move by Google... very disappointing!
Here's hoping Amazon have got their dates wrong and 19th October is the day of release, however unlikely it's becoming to seem.
