It is 10-24-09 and I received my HTC Touch 3G T3232 Jade 100 on 10-16-09. I have had it for a week and I am noticing dust under the screen. I don't know if this is a known issue.

I've used my Jade for nearly a year now. The screen is still cyrstal clear. There must be something wrong with your set as the screen should be dust-tight. You should claim your warranty and get a replacement.
I e-mailed HTC on Oct. 24th. Waiting to hear from them.
So, I called HTC today since I never received a reply to my email and I am sending the phone in. I am sad to be temporarily parting with it since I have only had it for two weeks. I also hate that it took me about a week an half to get settings to what I want and will now have to get them all correct again when it comes back.

You should backup your settings and customisation on to SD before you send in, so that when you receive it back you can easily restore all your settings to that just before you sent them.
I've got the same problem with mine, bought it end of January 2010, three weeks later I've got some dust behind the screen, on the top. After having made the backup of my data with sprite backup, I've gone to the shop I bought the mobile, and got a new one with no problem to this day!

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone here has had to return their N1, and what sort of turnaround time they received.
I'm fed up of the blasted keyboard issue still present, it really puts me off using the device when I need to email or txt just to have the thing freeze on me or start interpreting incorrect key presses.
I was hoping by now there would have been an OTA update as it seems quite a common issue but no such luck so I'm thinking of returning it.
Rgds,
I RMA'd mine, was picked up on a Monday, and I had it back on the Friday.
That's ok, was that sent back to HTC UK?
Yes, the service centre in Milton Keynes.
Cool, Thanks Rusty!
Mine took nearly two weeks. However, it was a swap. not a repair. Would have expected a swap to be quicker??
Mine was returned in the UK and I got a phone call when they'd got it saying there was going to be at least a 10 working day delay. I kind of moaned and whined at them and got it back within a couple of working days instead.

Got my N1 repaired due to charging problem. Got my phone back within 5 Working days of receipt.

hey,
Basically a quick question, my HD2 broke (my fault) and the screen went all funny.
I rung them up, did all the business and they picked my phone up last monday. Checked the website and it got there on wednesday.
Im assuming they dont work weekends, but im just abit curious to how long they are going to take to repair it. The website still says "We have received your phone at HTC service center." I was told it would take 7-15 days to get back to me. Considering I have had no email even quoting me to how much its going to be, im pretty doubtful to whether it will be back in this time period.
Anyone else sent their phone to the HTC service center? How long did it take you? I want my phone back
mine came back (with a new screen fitted) in 10 calendar days from when it was picked up.
not sure whether o2 send them to htc or fix them themselves, but mine was posted on wednesday, arrived back the following tuesday, new board and screen.
Ah cool, well its 7 days so I guess I have a few more to wait.
How did they get in contact with you about how much it will cost and stuff?
Im assuming email?

all email. mine was covered by warranty as it turned out, so no charges.
Mine took 2 months to be returned. Volcanic ash cloud apparently.
I just got a replacement G2 from UPS this morning. Hopefully to address my random reboot issue and random signal flakiness. Really I just wanted to see if the new unit had a different part number (as in newer hardware revision). I hadn't seen any posts with part numbers listed from their phones. The part number is located under the battery, btw.
The old phone (recieved Sept 29th - pre order):
P/N: 99HLW021-00 XE
S/N: HT09NR21XXXX
The new phone (got it this morning Oct 28th):
P/N: 99HLW021-01 A
S/N: HT0A4R21XXXX
Maybe that last "01" is a revision number?? It looks to me the replacement I recieved is BRAND NEW, not a refurb. At least it appears that way. I think it would be pretty hard to reinstall those plastic pieces between the screen and keyboard, on the keyboard itself, and on the screen that come when it ships new. Of course they stripped it of the battery and back cover.
My old hinge was very tight, and this was also appears to be tight. Although it may have a little less wobble to it. I need to reload all my stuff and give it a test run.
I'll report back on any differences I note.
I see you're in the same area as me, I was wondering what kind of speeds have you gotten around both St.Pete and Tampa. I can't seem to get anything better than 4 mbps at most for download.

I'm getting around 3-4Mbps d/l most of the time. I've seen as high as 9Mbps near my job, though. Icot area off of Ulmerton.
Make sure you check your part number when you get a chance and vote in the poll at the top. I'm curious about this part number revision thing.
99HLW021-00 from pre-order. Thinking about getting it switched out if there is a new revision out. My hinge is very loose but no reboot issues.

I haven't even powered up my new one yet. I just put on my screen protector and I'm letting it dry thoroughly before powering it back up. I'll probably wait to mess with it tonight when I'm at work.
I actually have 2 -00's so if anyone wants to change the poll? My wife's was received 2 days ago brand new in box from Asurion. Both have tight and identical hinges and no issues. Mine is 2 weeks old.
just received my replacement order yesterday from preorder and they both have P/N: 99HLW021-00 XE.
but this hinge seems to be tighter than the first one. but i am sure it will get loose over time. It seems i get worst signal than the first one. still no 3G in my house with G2. I get it all day with my Blackberry 9700...*sigh may have to sell the G2 and get the new 9780
Anyone getting the replacements getting a brand new in box phone? Cause I am going to demand that I think when I call about my phone...
yes mine was brand new sealed up. Came out of Colorado warehouse. I live in MA. I was still within my buyers remorse period.
if you go it from a store just go back to them and get a exchange

they gave you a brand new box is because ur still under the 14 days grace period. After the 14 days grace period, most replacement handset are just the phone itself no back cover or the battery.

advise technical support you have perform multiple master reset on the phone and you receive random reboots
I got mine from the T-mobile store yesterday. I am taking it back today. Floppy hinge, won't even connect to edge where I used to get 3G with my G1. I really like the phone but until a radio update and new hinge I will go back to my G1. Or wait till next week and try the my touch.
i picked mine up a week ago in fort lauderdale, part# 99hlw021-00 xf
I also received a replacement today with P/N: 99HLW021-01 A. It was a brand new phone. Maybe it is a new batch because I ordered a replacement last thursday and it took a week to get here, normally it only takes 2 days. I am located in NYC. I noticed that the new phone has a different color in the back. My original has like a brownish color and the new one is grey. Also the Hinge feels sturdier when is closed and when is open as well. I will take a picture of the both phones so you guys can see what i am talking about the colors
I just noticed a dead pixel on my phone... Such a bummer... Tomorrow I gotta get up early since I got my phone online.... Send it back and go to my local tmobile with the shipping slip so they can give me a new phone on the spot. This was the instructions given to me from tmobile on the phone. Hopefully everything goes smooth... Ive only owned my red monster for 3 freakin days dude!! :-(

Had to ship my phone back to tmobile after only a few hours of use. There was a dead LED under the home button. I had to ship it back to tmobile and they reshipped the phone 2nd day air to me. Wish they would have told me to go to the tmobile store to pick up the replacement.
Yeah... In fact I just did my double check phone call and now there saying only "certain" T-Mobile stores do exchanges like the way the Person I spoke to first stated. Now I gotta call t-mobile back in the morning so they can call a store that does do exchanges as long as I have a packing slip... ahh I smell a disaster lol

My phone bricked itself, but...
It might have been my fault. I got the phone from Wirefly for $75. I have had an HTC Aria since the summer and loved it, but found myself craving a bigger screen and loved the idea of WiFi calling, android 2.2 and a better camera. Unfortunately, I had problems from the beginning. At first my signal kept cycling between edge and hspa with 1 bar. Then, an ota started. I thought it completed, but I may have inadvertently left the house while it was downloading. At some point while I was on my way from Austin to Houston, the phone started cycling on and off. By the time I got to Houston, it was bricked I sent it back to Wirefly and cancelled my T-Mobile account.
i took back my white one, i had a lot of creaking on that phone at the bottom of it and plus i ended up wanting the black one over time. got tired of the white one. but here in cali u got 30 days to return ur phone after u bought it from the tmobile store, so im glad for that. if it was 14 days i would have been screwed lol. but they took my phone no problem, i just told them i wanted a black one and thats it.

That sounds very strange. I've not heard anyone else have that problem. Plus, the OTA is downloaded over the Tmob network so leaving the house shouldn't have caused anything.
I may have to exchange mine as the ffc appears to be off center (to the right).

Dude, now that you're saying that I too notice that my ffc is off to the right and not in the center JK bro, I'm pretty sure it's meant to be that way
I returned my first black one for a white one when the black one hit FC city loadin up the Faves widget
Then... returned the white (after S-Off) for another white due to creaking at the bottom!
On the 3rd one now (last exchange TMO will give me) and it feels just right
Had to send back my first one because it had two dead pixels. My ffc was also off to the right.
Got my new one today only to realize the minute i got home under better light that there are two more dead pixels. My ffc is now in the dead center.
Any advice? aren't we only able to get two returns through the t-mobile store? i know if i send it into t-mobile for any reason they'll just send me back a refurbished one

Left it... just wiped it at the counter.... they won't check the bootloader... so as long as its not a brick at the store... i wouldn't worry

Are you within your remorse period? if so... return the ***** completely and buy it else where. and don't feel bad about it... if you are going to pay this much for a device and presumably have it for 2 years... it better be perfect now... cuz it won't get any better.

Yes, I technically have 13 days of remorse since I had to get the second phone. I have to drive 1.5 hours just for the nearest tmobile store so I called the call center and they are sending me another replacement. I just have the sick feeling that what they are going to send me is a good ol' refurb just like they do every damn time you send your phone in and they "send you a new one." this phone is perfect so far but if it has 2 dead pixels out of the box i can only imagine it will continue to get worse.

Dont worry so much..
It's way too early in the product life-cycle to get refurbs. Believe me, it takes time to get them to the centers, inspect them, do what ever repairs are necessary and recertify them and supply TMO. Supply chain cannot fulfill this fast since the device has only been out for ~2 weeks. That's one benefit of adopting early.
My touch screen died on my HD2, it was one of the older versions bought in Jan last year. I sent it off to HTC in April and they've had it over a month now. They say the parts are in Taiwan but have no idea when they'll ship. I simply can't beleive such a big company can happily take my phone off me for over a month and still not be able to tell me when they'll repair it. And to top it off, they sent my proof of purchase, which had my name/address etc on it, to a totally different customer; the numpty repair shop had clearly shoved my paperwork in to some elses repaired HTC phone.
Anyone else have the same issues with them at the moment? Anyone managed to get a replacement handset out of them yet???
This is a high bureaucracy if you want something repaired under warranty...

Funnily enough they sent me an email today to say the phone should be with me on the 25th and the delay was due to moving the repair centre. That's the first time they mentioned that, up till today, it was always "we're waiting on parts, not sure what's happening". If only people could be honest. At least they've offered a free accesory up to 50 quid as a way of saying sorry so that's not too bad. Still, this whole debacle makes me think my next phone won't be a Sensation but a Galaxy S2. I hope Samsung do better repairs!

Got the same call today - repaired phone will be back with me next week & I chose the Bluetooth Headset for £50 as a freebie from HTC (as an apology for the delay in returning the phone to me).
The experience has not made me want to jump from the HTC brand (been with them since the old days of the SPV) - therefore I will still be grabbing a Sensation when my contract expires in the next few months.
Mine got picked up 6 weeks ago today and I got the same email yesterday. It was a Desire that I sent off.
try to ask them send u a new phone ^^
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Ive tried many times lol.
Have any of you got UPS tracking numbers for your devices to be shipped back?
My HD2 finally arrived back today with a nice new working touch screen (just as HTC said it would).
Although the HTC website says that it is awaiting pick-up by the courier service
Now I have to find another screen protector & try my best to apply it minus dust bubbles & turned up corners.
Well, well.... Got my phone back today after 6 weeks and 5 days unrepaired, exactly with the same fault as when I sent it and with my battery missing to top it off.
HTC have now told me that I will be receiving a brand new Desire S for compensation, its supposed to arrive today or tomorrow.
Anyone else been offered a brand new phone for compensation?
Lets say that my experience in the Benelux area is not much better.
The first time my HD2 got into repair, 1.5 months ago. 3 appointments to pick it up and not showing up with the most lame excuses.
Device was fixed after that in 1 week time which is good to me but the delivery back was another thing .... again.
The guy on the phone also asked me why I was angry after 3 missed appointments. Well if I do that in my current role I will not make it untill the end of the week.
Now after a month my phone has a MB problem and I already feared the support thing when it started happening. Needless to say I was right again!
Called in on Monday morning and was asked when it should be picked up. Two choices Tuesday 9am-1pm or 1pm-6pm, so I choose 9am-1pm.
They picked it up at 4:20pm. Not so funny when you think that I have to arrange my working day (and customers) for it.
To top it off. This morning I get an email that the device they received is not a desire hd as mentioned in the case but a hd2. sighhh
-------
Aangemeld Product:
Desire HD - Desire HD
Referentienummer: 11BECxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ontvangen Product:
TOUCH HD 2 - TOUCH HD 2
--------
And I won't go into detail on what happened to my Touch Pro a year ago which went into service a couple of times and wasn't fixed at all.
... and we have a winner ... again.
Got a message last Friday that my HD2 was ready.
Now this morning I asked Dynafix (the company that 'fixes' it in the Benelux)where it was and what was done to fix the issue.
'installed the latest rom' I was speechless.
I already told the HTC guy what was done before it was picked up and ofcourse installing the latest rom is one of them.
About 20 minutes later by coincidence I get customer care on the line asking me if I was satisfied with the repaired phone. (That I still don't have btw)
I mention what I just heard from the repaircenter and that the device will not work like it should.
It will have to come in 1 more time and then they can do a swap if it gets approved.
The device has not been working like it should since March the 27th.
I asked if it could get swapped for another model and I got a straight 'no'.
HTC is seriously getting on my nerves. Spending over 2000 Euros on phones over the past 3 years and not doing something in return for customers is not a good thing.
I was tempted to ask for a Sensation and pay a part of it myself but now I am more than tempted to get the Samsung S2.
Edit: The thing arrived 15 minutes ago ..... pop in battery and 5 minutes later ... stuck
Already recorded it to have some proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7rswNyy2DI
Edit 2: Contacted HTC again to ask them if they can exchange it.
This really .... me of. They concider the last repair not a repair but a software upgrade so they will not exchange it.
Strange since I sent it in for a repair and already mentioned that I did a rom upgrade etc.
