P3300 unable to upgrade !!!! - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

Hi everybody.
I've got 2 HTC-P3300 bought in two different period.
The first one has been bought in 2008 and the second in 2009 in the same shop.
The first one is out of warranty and i've tried to upgrade with different roms found on this forum without any problem.
I've tried to do the same with the second one but it accepts only the original WM 5 or WM 6.0.
All the other cooked rom i've tried (all of these works well with the first P3300) fail the upgrade process after the cid unlock/uspl procedure.
Can anyone help me?
Has anyone found the same problem?
Help me.....
Thanks.

Cant Flash ELFIN anymore

Hi all,
I have a MDA TOUCH XL (Elfin) from T-Mobile.
However when i got this Unit from a private Person iwould have real bad Signal, to mostly no Signal.
After some research i came across this Radio Update under the following Link:
http://gsmfreeboard.com/showthread.php?t=147057
However i did not read that this was NOT for the ELFIN but only for the ELF.
After 2 hrs of only having the Bootimage of T-Mobile for about 10 seconds and then a black screen i finally got back into the Bootloader to upload the O2 ROM that is also mentioned in the above Link (page 4 or 5).
Since then I can not flash, as i always get an Error about corrupted File or incompatible Device.
Same Error with the official T-Mobile Rom
Here my Units Info:
MDA TOUCH XL
WM 6 Professional
Installed Rom: O2 4.1.100.1332
IPL 2.21.0002
SPL 2.23.0000
Mostly i get an Error 270.
Can anyone please tell me what exactly i would have to get to update Roms again and how to update IPL and SPL (if needed) ???
I have read for days on different sites and either ia m to stupid to find the right answer or i am the 1st with this Issue.
English is not my Homelanguage, so maybe thats why i am to stupid i guess.
So if anyone could please help me?
I would be very thankful.
Thank you in advance:
Wolfgang

Upgrading info for beginner :-)

Hi guys,
thank you a lot for this fantastic websit. Sorry for my English - I am Czech. I hope, that you will understand me. In past I had a HTC vox, but few weeks ago I´ve bought a CRUISE. Everything was Ok, but I wanted to made a upgrade from WM 6,0 to 6,1. I corectly unlocked my cruise and I tried to upgrade to new (unoficial ROM).
I tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478029
and this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425612
Upgrading was ok, but after upgrading I have no signal on my PHONE ???
My next step was: I made a upgrade to oficial HTC WM 6,1 from HTC website.
With original WM 6,1 is everything Ok, but I would like to have beter ROM, than original HTC.
At all treads here, you are writing about RADIO? What is it? Is it a driver, which is included in every ROMs and this driver is for PHONE RADIO control?
Is it possible to upgrade only "RADIO" ??? I dont understand a lot this section. When I was upgrading my VOX, there were no problem with this. Every drivers was included in ROM - notning problem.
Thanks for your comment

HTC Touch Cruise (P3650) - Original ROM GER (WM 6.0) & SPL needed - please help

Dear experts,
since a long time now I'm reading this forum and got many fantastic tipps, ROMs, etc. Unfortunately since yesterday my HTC Touch Cruise's (P3650) touchscreen doesn't react any more. Even hard reset, trying several ROMs (til yesterday I used M-Anime for more than 6 month without any problems), nothing could solve this problem
Therefore I need to send back the HTC to my distributor. However I've to restore original ROM & SPL. Before updating to M-Anime I made a copy of my ROM as suggested, but unfortunately in the meantime all my PC data were lost. So no ROM and even more no SPL. My last hope is this great forum!
To go back to original status I need IMHO following things:
If possible a short description of necessary steps
Original WM 6.0 GERMAN ROM (Version: Bought my HTC in March 2008 / Orginal HTC - no branding)
Original SPL (have installed Hard-SPL at the moment)
Everything what I forgot so far
Many thanks for your help & support in advance,
cheers

PS. I tried to read all threads regarding original rom, but either it's not the correct version or the download link is down ...
hi

Hey Reko,
thanks for your prompt answer. Thought that this upgrade needs original WM 6.0 ROM ... nevertheless installation worked and I've the original HTC WM 6.1 installed now. In this regard one question, just to clarify. The HTC WM 6.1 is an official release and therfore guarantee keeps untouched, right?
And second thing, now I've to restore the original SPL, I tried to check all relevant threads, but I'm still not sure what to do and where to get it. Could anyone help?
Again many thanks for your support,
cheers

1. flash the spl-restore and verify manually in bootloader if the SPL 1.25.xx got flashed
2. flash again the wm6.1 because it has newer SPL than the SPL-restored
if that fails..
1. flash wm6.0 rom + radiorom
2. flash spl-restore
3. keep it as is, or update wm6.1
Hi c3ro,
thanks for your support. Will try do follow your steps and in case of further problems get back.
Thx & cheers

HardSPL and official ROM upgrade

Hi,
This is a newbie question. I bought a second hand Cruise running 6.0. I could not find the official rom upgrade to 6.1 but have since discovered the device was originally from Singapore and have found it on the HTC Singapore site.
I have already installed HardSPL as I was going to try some of the ROMs here. Will the official upgrade work with HardSPL?
I don't want to just try and see and would appreciate some advice before going any further.
EDIT
Ok worked it out. All went well
Hi could you tell me how you installed hard SPL? And where you found the ROM. Thanks.
this may be a bit late. I found the rom on the singapor htc website. I just typed in my serial number.
as to hspl i followed the guide

HD mini HTC official ROM upgrade.....help please

Hi,
Can anyone please help.
After recently damaging my HD2 beyond repair (uninsured), I have been given an HD mini to last me until my contract expires. Unfortunately it has some issues as, although unlocked, it still carries many of the branded restrictions. I have downloaded the HTC HD mini Rom upgrade but on trying to install I'm getting the error message of invalid vendor (O2). I presume I need to install HSPL before the phone will accept the Rom update. Can anyone please provide a link to HD mini HSPL, or offer any other help (The current spl version is: 1.10.0000)
Cheers..............Brian
Consult the company who issued you the phone. Ask them what version of ROM is allowed in this unit.
As I said, I have been loaned this phone that has been "unblocked" from O2, (the vendor) There's no point in contacting them as I am pretty damn sure they would only be interested in providing another O2 Rom if indeed they would offer any support. I just want to upgrade to the latest HTC Rom and need a little bit of extra help getting there. Any links to an HD mini Hard SPL please.
i got my HD mini from vodafone and it came 'unlocked' and ive upgraded to the latest rom from htc HTC ROM

Click to collapse
Well, that helps!!!!
As I said, I HAVE downloaded and tried to flash the latest official HTC Rom upgrade, from the official HTC support site. It gets as far as the blue/red/green screen and then an error message "invalid vendor" (O2). I believe I just need to pre install a Hard SPL first but just need to know where to find the file!
Cheers........Brian
there is no Hard SPL yet for mini,afaik...
Cheers guys, looks like I've come to a dead end.
Thanks for your time and comments
Cheers....Brian
