Well, i have read all the posts and saw allot of people had problems with card, but mine is the most stupid ever, its a 2gb microSD with adapter and sometimes works, sometimes not, now i have put a sdhc driver and the funny thing it works like this, i remove my card it doesn't see it anymore but when i restart he see it almost every time, i do not get it, it does this on all os and all ipl/spl and radio roms... the card reader is clean now and without physical error, and the card is new and working perfect. Does anyone know how to fix this? if not lets try to fix this coul be useful for many... Thanks!
Closely resembling the HTC Magician, the device is a 2.75G phone with a 2.8" 240x320 touchscreen, a 2.0 Megapixel Digital Camera, Bluetooth 2.0 without EDR (equivalent to version 1.2 with additional bug fixes), WiFi 802.11b/g, Infrared Technology, Microsoft Push email access, 128 MB internal memory and a full sized SD card slot (no SDHC support). It is based on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Professional platform, and was among the first Pocket PC phones to use the operating system. It has Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The phone also includes Pocket Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player 10 Mobile as well as some carrier or provider specific
I have exactly the same problem lol like you .... who can i resolve this problem ?
HAHAHA is back and ok now i put a needle in contacts very slow in all and its ok now lets see what time the card reader resist

SANDISK Wi-Fi
I've been playing around with the Sandisk Wi-Fi only card on WM2005 and I find the Sandisk 256MB+WiFi drivers work better than the standard ones as these support WPA security. However I am suffering from weird storage card issues and slowdowns due to the extra bit of the driver that handles the 256MB part of the card, which as we all know doesn't actually work on an XDA II anyway.
Would it be possible for someone to extract JUST the WiFi component of these drivers and leave out the 256MB storage driver component?

i have universal irda keyboard sk6688 (try google) and it's working very good..
only problem is, that i can't turn off it's driver and turn it on, i lose backlight (softreset is a solution)
so socket wifi works in Buzzmobile
socket wifi works very well in Buzzmobile i received one for excanghe of a sandisk with memory
so one more to add
Working:
1gb PNY SD
1gb Sandisk SD
Pretec SD WLAN
Jabra BT800
Socket OEM BT GPS (black one)
Which drivers do you use rictec for your socket wi-fi card?
i think is the wifi smart phone version
i do think that it works great in socket buzzmobile its somewhere here
wm2005wifi.cab
I tried the Bluetooth Apple Pro Wireless Keyboard, it worked great.
Works in all apps, including desktop, the Apple key works like Windows key and brings up the start menu.
You can only pair the KB with one device by the look of it, so if you want to use it for your PC mainly (like me) then you have to re-pair with phone each time you want to send a sms or email via xda, a pain. But lets face it, your not going to carry the full KB everywhere are you!
I find it interesting that the KB worked so well though. Good to see WM2k5 support keyboard over bluetooth
Hi there, a rant a question, but i will try and keep it brief,
First me rant, why oh why when an ipod can carry 40gig of data in its tiny little space, have HTC not taken the concept behind their Hard Drive systems, I would NOT complain for a second if my pda got half a cm or a cm thicker but gained a gig memory, or more,
And question, I use a Hymalaya, (m1000) i have been interested in the Universal and the WM5 upgrade, My sister has just got one and i have had an explore of hers, whats with the 44meg for programs, i struggle with the xda getting over clogged, is this a problem for the Universal, i can only see that iam going to be more limited to what i can install on the Universal than iam on the hymalaya, this has stopped me upgrading,
Looking to confirm if iam right or seriously needing to revise more.
Thanks Guys, sorry the brief idea went,
OK, for a start, an Ipod uses a mini harddrive, which would NOT be suitable for a PPC (in my opinion, its not suitable for a music player) as they are so fragile. Also, a hard drive chews power, alot more than flash memory.
The approach adopted with most PPCs is to use an exteral storage card, which you install your programs onto.
WM5 uses a different method of storing data to previous versions. It uses RAM to run programs, and it uses ROM for persistent storage (e.g. installed programs).
My advice, get yourself a 1gb sd card (~£42) and install your programs onto that.
I have got a 1gig SD in my M1000, but have refused to install programs to the sd card because of crashing it its removed, (sdio wifi card in use as well) and the time factor for the device to have to access the sd card for system files,
take it this is the way forward for the wm5 devices
Yeah have to agree with you on the ipod thing, like i say, was just a rant, coincidentially, less than 10 minutes after a hard reset cos it all got a bit much for it,
Think iam going to try installing to the mmc card and see how stable it is,
Thanks heliosfa
Has any one managed to use software like wm5torage or card export II with trinity? I tried both but they do not work for my device.
Doed any one know a way for them to work or another solution to use the storage card as a flash drive that works for HTC trinity?
I've the same problem and no solution. I can switch on my htc 3600 between card and active sync, but the card function doesn't work (card exportII ppc). No device under winxp????
I had same problem. Goto Start>settings>usb to PC and uncheck Enable advanced network functionality and that should fix the problem
Thanks, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything for me... still no removal drive appearing in Win XP after unchecking that option (tested again after soft reset, same result).
I rather using a usb 2.0 card reader, but when I tried WM5torage and Card Export, I remember both of them worked a couple of times, but for most of the times I tried to use them I got the same problem as you, I think Card Export didn't work or even complain, WM5torage returned some error message.
Another strange thing, when they did work, I had to use the device, i.e. press the start menu, open an application, for the transfer rate to become acceptable! really weird, if I just plug in the device and let it alone it was slow as hell to browse or do anything else.
So I decided to use one of these:
I have a USB mini SD card reader, unfortunately it doesn't seem to like 4go mini SD...
So I'm waiting to receive another reader that looks like yours... just hope it will read my cards (or are they capped to 2go?).
Anyway, I have at least one computer where I card read my card, so not a real problem... just wanted to be able to use it at work for example, and without ActiveSync that seems to corrupt the card...
Card Export II
Card Export II works well on my unit although after a reset it may take a little time till the Icon shows up. Also if you don't see your Mini-SD card in Windows just disconnect the USB cable, do a quick change from Card Export to Active Sync and back to Card Export then Windows will show you the MiniSd files.
Well after trying again and again, I've given up on using that kind of program...
Hopefully I've received the same usb card reader as Apoc and it work like a charm with my mini sd 4go

Maybe it's not working because your using a MiniSD 4GB (if that's what you wrote)...what brand/model are you using? is it working well??
For me WISBAR LITE was the problem!!!
I had to disable wisbar. Start wm5torage. activate it. restart wisbar.
now I can use (activate/stopp/restart) wm5torage without a problem.
(haven't done a reset yet)
I have always had problems with WM5torage telling me that something is still running on the card so can’t start. I check everything in processes and nothing appears to be pointing to the card, so without uninstalling one-by-one to find the conflicting culprit, I give up.
However Card Export II works great! Never had a problem with it connecting as a removable drive except with USB 1.1. I find if I connect to a PC with USB 1.1 it disables the USB altogether until a restart.
I’m using a 2Gb card, so either you are having problems with your 4Gb, or can I presume you are not using USB 2?
Also what have you formatted your 4Gb to? Fat32? What did you use to format with? You can get software like this especially to format SDHC.
I can put folders from my trinity on the pc but not from the PC en the trinity.
A hint:
I just bought A S300+ and tried WM5torage, I had a classic "maybe card is in use" problem. I already had patched rom and radio rom. So I tried to remove all protections with an official tool I know: Device Security Manager PowerToy for Windows Mobile 5.0 on microsoft website
Guess what ? it worked like a charm
Usage is very easy select "Security off" in selected configuration Compare with actual active sync device and then click 'provision'
Just disable the phone ...
See next thread. Cannot delete this one ...
Just disable radio ...
Just make sure you disabled the radio. I have some programs installed on the card (PB Weather) which are always active when the radio is on. If I disable the radio WMStorage works fine.
But you have to uncheck the extended option in the USB settings anyway.
Good luck
Christian
I used / tried both of this programs
last version of card export works great but not the previous one
WM5torage was working on different version of ROM
In the last I use, FAMAN 3.6, WM5torage is working fine.
in previous, 3.3 3.4 3.5, it wasn't. I had to do it with Card Export.
the driver used for handling memory card inside WM6 is the center of the problem
Card Export use its own driver, instead of WM5torage.
That's what I understood in some forums ...
So do some test on different version of ROM
good luck
PS : I use 4Gb Mini SDHC and I never install anything in the card to avoid any "actually in use" problems
I tried the last BETA version on WM5storage on FAMAN4.01 french WM6 rom and work like a charm
I just forgot to end my post ...
I also use WM5torage 1.78 beta 2 on FAMAN 3.6, and it is working very fine
I didn't try it on FAMAN 4.01 because I didn't keep this ROM version more than 1 hour.
The big advantage of WM5torage is it's freeware
hi, guys, i just bought the t-mobile wing and i have one problem with it.
I tried to copy some mp3 files to my wing using usb cable, the mp3 files
are about 128mb, however it took me 40 minutes to transfer them.
is this normal? how can i connect the wing as a " card reader ", the transfer
speed is way tooo slow, please help.
Thank You.
Mine copies slow too. When I want to dump a bunch of TV shows to it, I do it before bed time.

I realize that if I use Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) to transfer files, it seems to be a bit slower than if I use WM5torage. Now, in general, I still think both methods are slow. I transfer everything through my media card reader which is heck of a lot faster. It'll easily rip 1GB within a couple of minutes to my Kingston 4GB microsd. My other alternative is to use my usb microsd card reader. I only use WM5torage and Activesync as my last resort. But honestly, after owning the Dash/Wing, I think HTC made a pretty slow card reader to begin with. I also think that the microsd card reader in the phone wasn't design to read fast anyway since it only supported up to 2GB back using WM5.
I have Garmin Mobile XT residing on my 16GB memory card, but after the firmware upgrade to R3A it no longer wanted to display any maps. Said there were none. I tried some tricks but finally gave up and wanted to reinstall it. Due to the size of the maps (files 1.5GB or so) I decided to take the memory card out of the phone, place it in a SD card adapter and put it in my PC which has a SD card reader. However, Windows XP now suddenly doesn't recognize my memory card and suggests I format it. This may be a solution, but it seems something "simple to fix" must have happened here. It used to work fine in XP. I know SD cards can behave strange sometimes and that there are recovery programs for various cameras with SD cards. Any ideas?
I have this problem with Windows Vista whenever I use my microSD adapter. What I tend to do is try to update the driver for the "Unknown UBS Adapter". It normally comes back after a search saying that I have the up to date one, then I take out the USB adapter, put it back in, and it works.
Maybe a similar method might work for you.
It's a SDHC card. Not compatible with normal SD Slot.
did you maybe have the old sd card set to be encrypted or something like that - not sure though

Yes, it's a SDHC card and it is fully compatible with a normal SD slot (ofcourse you need an adapter inbetween) and it used to work like a charm in Windows XP; i.e. I could put the SDHC card from the X1 in the adapter and put the adapter in the computer and be able to access the content on the SDHC card just like a normal disk. Very much faster for transferring large data, for instance Garmin maps, than using the USB cable.

No encryption used. And the write protect thing on the adapter is set to off. After some more poking around I found that Windows XP reports the file format on th SDHC card as RAW and is not even able to format the card. I used a third party app that I installed on the X1 to format the card, which works fine. (Funny that there is no built in function for this in Windows Mobile). With the formatted SDHC card I can now work with it like before in Windows XP. Ofcourse, all data on it were lost.
Does anyone here know what can cause the formatting of the SDHC card to change into something else (RAW) than it was first formatted to (FAT32)? Something must have messed up the file allocation tables? Although the card worked in the X1, Windows Mobile reported that there were about 3MB space available on it while in reality there were more than 6GB available on it.
Puzzled. But then again this is Windows...
Everything is Windows fault
Do you have an SDHC Vista driver for your card reader?
Did you somehow trash the card (it's possible)?
Just because you have an adapter doesn't make SDHC compatible with SD. The reader must also be capable of SDHC as well as drivers.
You can always put the X1 into card reader mode.

Yes, ofcourse it is... =)) No, I do not have a SDHC Vista driver since I run Windows XP. I don't know if I trashed the card somehow, if I did it certainly wasn't intentional and it would certainly mean that the card has serious quality issues (it's a SanDisk card).
I did find out however, that formatting the card in Windows Mobile (with a 3rd party app) only makes it possible to read the card in Windows XP. Unless you format it again in Windows XP the same problem will occur again (i.e. format turns to RAW and makes it impossible to read in Windows XP again).
