My Exchange sync has been working perfectly ever since I got my Hero. Today it suddely started giving this error :
An error has occurred on the computer running the exchange server.
Calendar & Contacts still sync fine and I can send email. I just can't sync new emails.
This error occurrs on both wifi and 3G.
We do not use certificates but we do enforce SSL which has always worked fine.
Nothing has been changed on our Exchange server, as far as I know, and other people with iPhones, Nokias etc are not getting this problem. OWA etc is also working fine.
OK. Not much of fix but I deleted and recreated the Exchange ActiveSync profile on my Hero. It's now back sync'ing again without any problems.
It's a bit of a pain though

I am using a K-JAM and I'm unable to sycn my tasks OTA with Exchange. We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 and there are a couple other people in the office on the same server running Sprint 6700s that work fine. Any ideas?
My Calendar, Inbox and Contacts work great, and the Tasks box is checked.
Thanks
afaik tasks cannot my synced ota with exchaneg.. google it
I have found mixed messages on this which is why I posted here. Some places say that you only need WM5 and Exchange 2003 SP2. Other places say you need Messaging Feature Pack installed on WM5.
Does anyone know which is true? The option is available on my K-JAM to sync tasks, I just does nothing.
Has anyone here sucessfully synced their tasks OTA?
Thanks
Tasks sync-ed OTA
I can sync Tasks OTA using 4SmartPhone and my K-Jam with no issues. I recently switched to 4SmartPhone from MailStreet (both are hosted Exchange Services). I was NOT able to sync Tasks OTA with MailStreet, so it is most likely a server-side software set up, not a client-side issue, since I have not changed anything on my phone (no ROM upgrades, etc).
Steve
I confirmed with two of my coworkers that they are infact syncing tasks OTA with a Sprint 6700 and JasJar (T-Mobile).
The strangest thing is that we are on the same Exchange server.
I tried a hard rest today thinking that something was foobar on my K-JAM because of all the software, but I am seeing the same issue.
I guess it could be an issue with my Exchange mailbox, but I can't think of any settings that would cause this. I'll try syncing with my home Exchange sever (geek) this weekend and see if it has the same issue.
I have the T-Mobile USA MDA, and I'm trying to get my email working with my home server, however there seems to be something wrong with the IMAP4 implementation in Windows Mobile. I configured the account, and it connects just fine to my server, and begins downloading all the message headers. While this is going on, I can see the messages being added to the Inbox on the screen. Once all the message headers are downloaded, it downloads the IMAP folders, and disconnects. Here's where the problem happens. All of the messages that just got downloaded are removed from the Inbox, and it appears as if there's no email at all, even though there should be approx 70 messages. Has onyone seen this? I can't figure out what could possibly be wrong. By the way, if I use POP3 to fetch the email stead of IMAP, the problem doesn't happen, and the messages stay in the inbox, but I want to use IMAP, since that's what I use with all my other email client applications, and I want the email to stay on the server.
By the way, my home server is running Linux with Dovecot IMAP server, if that makes any difference. (shouldn't)
bump...
I've got the same problem with my Qtek S200. And guess what... I'm using dovecot too.
I've also begun suspecting that it's an incompatibility with dovecot as well, though I'm sure the problem is with Microsoft's crappy IMAP implementation in WM5 rather than dovecot itself, since no other email application has problems with it.
And I have used the IMAP in WM5 for 5 different ISP mail servers, and 2 seperate Exchange (2000 and 2003) with no problems.
Maybe you should just try a different mail server, or a different mail client on your device?
OK, I did some more playing around with this today, and got things to work. After finding this message via Google:
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2006-May/013375.html
I decided to compile Dovecot from the current 1.0 rc2 source code, and sure enough, things are now working. It looks like the Dovecot developers have worked around whatever it was that was causing the Pocket Outlook implementation to delete all the messages after it downloaded them. Anyway, I'm happy now.
Apologies if this has been asked before - I couldn't find it.
I have a TMob MDA Pro which is configed to sync with the Exchange server at work. It goes through all the motions, including the item count, for Tasks, Contacts, Mail and Calendar - but nothing appears on the phone! Even though it completes successfully.
My Outlook mail on the phone shows the folders which I have in my mailbox but no messages. I have set Activesync to download ALL for everything, but still nowt.
Sync definately works the other direction as when i create new contacts they appear in outlook, without connecting USB cable or to wireless network.
I've even just now put on the new Dutch TMob ROM and reset settings as appropriate but still nothing.
Anyone else come across this - please help!

Fixed it!
Fixed my own problem!
It appears that Sophos PureMessage on the mail server breaks syncing with the Exchange server. Stopping the PureMessage anti-virus service makes everything work.
As a result of this, and that PureMessage is crap anyway, I've pulled it off the server and installed GFI MailSecurity for server anti-virus instead and it works fine.

Hi... I just setup an Exchange 2007 server and everything is peachy but for some reason I can't get my contacts and stuff from my mobile device to sync with exchange... emails push fine but none of the other items are syncing...
I have everything checked in the sync settings on the mobile device saying it should send the stuff to the exchange server but they're not going! No sync errors or anything ...
am I missing something?
thanks in advance
Just picked up my Tmobile MyTouch Slide 3G and I have my Exchange server activesync setup on my phone however the calendar will only sync one-way. If I create a calendar event on my phone it will show up on the Exchange server. But my phone will not grab my calendar entries that I create on the Exchange server.
Anyone else using this phone to sync with their Exchange server?
What version of Microsoft Exchange are you using to connect to?
I've been trying to setup active sync on mine and it always returns with a message that says "Unable to create account. Please try again later." Thats after choosing what I want to sync and all settings are setup in the server to allow Exchange Active sync and also the correct setting are on the phone.
We are running Exchange 2010. Everything connects up fine with it except for the Calendar sync from the Server to the Phone.
You have to buy a third party app in order to sync the calendar, like Touchdown.

Well I am also using Exchange 2010 but I can't get the Exchange sync to work it always saids "Failed to create the account. Please try again later."
Also I have to use SSL, does your exchange require SSL?
Hmmm, that's odd. I'm using Exchange 2007, and the calendar syncs both ways.
HTC's customizations allow full sync functionality, so I'd be careful to go buy Touchdown or whatever, as if it doesn't work with the built-in sync, it probably won't with Touchdown.
My initial thought would be that it could have something to do with using Exchange 2010, or a setting on the server.
still having issues with the calendar. Anyone else?
Ok in my case I found out is a problem with a setting on the exchange server. That option is with the pin number being required for iphone users which is to add a layer of security on the phone. I'll have to wait for 2.2 froyo which adds more support for exchange.
