HTC Magic hardware keys - line, square, chrome, or wtf??? - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi all
I'm thinking of gettting a black HTC Magic, but I'd like to know from an owner, wtf the keys on the outside look like?? coz it seems like there are quite a few variations...
Are they stick-shaped? or squared, like the white one?
And about the "square" variation i have seen ugly silver-chrome keys and prettier black glossy keys.
The one I would like to get is like this, with black square glossy keys.

many thanks

Not line, those were from early prototypes.
Black glassy is for the majority of phones (32B) I believe.
I know my Rogers HTC Magic (32A) has the Chrome buttons and I don't think they are ugly!

GSM 'Brick' background on CDMA?

Hey all, I'd like to know how I can get the 'brick' style background on all my tabs like the GSM version of the phone has. I have the Sprint version of the phone and it includes a black background.

I will see what i can do... I have to find which manila files to change...
but it will take a while, don't have the time right now...
Maybe someone else will beat me to it!?
Awesome ^_^
Well, there is a thread called "no bricks" which does exactly the opposite. I don't like the bricks
So, before applying that patch, i backed up my original bricks file, which should work for you.
Here you go (untested though! Make sure you back up the file too):
my "bricks" don't look as good as the pic above. mine are more round and spaced further. that does look way better.

HTC Hero yellow tint

Are there people who own a HTC Hero that is having the same 'yellowish tint' problem as the HTC Diamond?
I own a HTC Hero that has this issue. Already swapped it for another unit, but that one is having the same issue as well.
With the HTC Diamond it looks like this.

I do not have another HTC Hero to compare it with, but I've seen a HTC Hero at a local retailer which does not have this problem (problem is that it's like 90 euro's more expensive at their store).
i can't see the hero having the same problem as that, they have totally diffrent screens, the problem with the diamond was cause HTC was sourcing some of there screens from a cheaper operation in china, maybe its just a one off or a hardware problem
Maybe your eyesight is messed up.

If it was, I wouldn't see the difference between my device, and the one at the store.
I have a HTC Hero and my gf too - she had the white Hero. She has this yellowish tint.
Also some light leakage on the buttons on the bottom. Freakin' sucks, but she doesn't care much..

Dude, there are a bunch of threads here, on the google support forum and articles on the net re the purple tint problem.
HTC reps told me it was a software issue that will be fixed when an update is released soon. Apparently other people have been told it's a hardware issue and to get the phone replaced.
Try putting your phone on maximum brightness, that helps but there will still be a slight nagging color problem - it still will look 'off' somehow.
My little sister's favorite color is purple, grapes are purple, Barney is purple, but a $600 'superphone'? What a joke.
I also think it's a hardware problem, where are the others topic? thank you
...my att banded n1 looks like your hero in the above pictures...

Weird lines on screen

Well, it started yesterday and it keeps driving me nuts. It's present both in the system as well as 4ext or even the splash screen so it is definitely a hardware issue. Is there any way to get rid of them because my contract ends in november but I was going to stay with my DHD and get myself a PS3 (very nice offer from my carrier)
It looks like that, it's not a screenshot but it looks exactly like that:

what seems to be an officer problem?
the faint horizontal lines on the screen. That is only a picture but live they also flicker.
You could try replacing the screen yourself, but it could happen that the gpu is the problem, in which case you can't do anything on your own...
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I remember having the same issue right after I bought my DHD and I remember rooting and reflashing it helped I recently changed my Radio software, you think it might have anything to do?
It's not hardware. I get it on the current versions of the 3 kernel. Synergy said it was to do with fb (not sure what it is) and he's working on it.

FB....hmmm....frame buffer (only thing that comes to mind except FaceBook) Anyway you're a life saviour man! I was worried that I will have to get a new phone.

Dream UX App Icons

With the S8 relese, a new edition of Touchwiz (Dream UX) has released with it, and I have a few questions about it.
I keep seeing two different camera icons- the flat gray one and the gradient blue and purple style. Which one will the released device come with?
Does anybody know which font the Gear and Samsung Pay app use, or if it's even a real font?
Thats really all for now, thanks!
I went to best buy and it had the flat gray. I assume it will be the same. We will know in exactly 2 weeks but hopefully less.

Here is the one at best buy
Also for the font, its not a real font. Its for the design to go with the curves and edges of the phone. Its like all the other icons.
