Dude, there are a bunch of threads here, on the google support forum and articles on the net re the purple tint problem.
HTC reps told me it was a software issue that will be fixed when an update is released soon. Apparently other people have been told it's a hardware issue and to get the phone replaced.
Try putting your phone on maximum brightness, that helps but there will still be a slight nagging color problem - it still will look 'off' somehow.
My little sister's favorite color is purple, grapes are purple, Barney is purple, but a $600 'superphone'? What a joke.
I also think it's a hardware problem, where are the others topic? thank you
...my att banded n1 looks like your hero in the above pictures...

Thx mate!
I did have a Diamond and I did complain to HTC about the poor quality of camera.
As u can see here it gives a blue tone to all outdoor pics. And HTC replied to me, that is in the error margin for the camera!!! Screw me.... Its a shame that the deliver a phone with a total worthless camera.
I did trow mine away and i will buy a better phone. Diamond 2 is much better in that way.
Thanks for the pics!
I 'm plannig to cath a diamond2 on the middle of the year! It's gonna be so good take better pictures and record some nice brazilian jiu-jitsu fights hehehe
Are there people who own a HTC Hero that is having the same 'yellowish tint' problem as the HTC Diamond?
I own a HTC Hero that has this issue. Already swapped it for another unit, but that one is having the same issue as well.
With the HTC Diamond it looks like this.

I do not have another HTC Hero to compare it with, but I've seen a HTC Hero at a local retailer which does not have this problem (problem is that it's like 90 euro's more expensive at their store).
i can't see the hero having the same problem as that, they have totally diffrent screens, the problem with the diamond was cause HTC was sourcing some of there screens from a cheaper operation in china, maybe its just a one off or a hardware problem
Maybe your eyesight is messed up.

If it was, I wouldn't see the difference between my device, and the one at the store.
I have a HTC Hero and my gf too - she had the white Hero. She has this yellowish tint.
Also some light leakage on the buttons on the bottom. Freakin' sucks, but she doesn't care much..
Well, it started yesterday and it keeps driving me nuts. It's present both in the system as well as 4ext or even the splash screen so it is definitely a hardware issue. Is there any way to get rid of them because my contract ends in november but I was going to stay with my DHD and get myself a PS3 (very nice offer from my carrier)
It looks like that, it's not a screenshot but it looks exactly like that:

what seems to be an officer problem?
the faint horizontal lines on the screen. That is only a picture but live they also flicker.
You could try replacing the screen yourself, but it could happen that the gpu is the problem, in which case you can't do anything on your own...

I remember having the same issue right after I bought my DHD and I remember rooting and reflashing it helped I recently changed my Radio software, you think it might have anything to do?
It's not hardware. I get it on the current versions of the 3 kernel. Synergy said it was to do with fb (not sure what it is) and he's working on it.

FB....hmmm....frame buffer (only thing that comes to mind except FaceBook) Anyway you're a life saviour man! I was worried that I will have to get a new phone.
Hi, I've a very weird problem with my Nexus 4 rev 11. When I take low brightness or black at the edge photos, an "awesome" grey/white stripe goes alive. I was on 4.2.2 stock, wiped many times, changed many kernels and now I'm on latest CyanogenMod nightly: the weird bug is still here. I hope it's not an hardware fault because for bad luck Bri-talians that can't buy a nexus 4 in the Italian shops like me, send the phone to be repaired outside Italy it's almost impossible...
Here is a totally black photo with the bug.

The stripes don't always appear at the same place and it appears on selected photo app that works as the stock one like Snap Camera, but not on istagram app
Any advice? Please help me or the phone will fly straight through the window. Maybe not but I hope to solve that weirdness...
Can you test of your nexus is affected too? Simply put a finger on the camera... Thank you

Hi all,
I made so research on google and xda, I want to be sure before contacting the seller.
I bought S4 amoled screen from a ebay seller, twice. On my second screen I bought I have a greenish filter all over the screen when dark scene and low brightness.
The dark grey color appear like 8bit big pixels.
I found the app screen adjuster, but it only correct some dark scene, not all, and it doesn't remove the greenish filter.
On bright scenes, the screen is OK.
Any permanent solution , or I should contact the seller?

It looks like the screen is not connected properly, or is damaged or incompatible. Please double-check the connectors are clean and properly fitted.
I've seen issues like this before when replacing laptop screens.
I would contact your seller for a replacement if nothing appears to be wrong with your connections.
