Does anyone know if the the HD will be compatible with the new TF3d? If im not mistaken HTC usually updates the phones when a new version of its UI comes out, but has there been any official word for the HD?
I like the HD, but the new UI (particular the contacts) is so much better than the vanilla wm6.1 version.

The answer is a definite yes.
Check out Dutty's 1.8 Extreme ROM, he already has the HD running on the new version of TF3D I've been using it for a few days now and it's very good..
TF3d v2 only
Is it possible to get only the TF3D v2 cab?

Sweet thnks for the reply guys this makes the decision on getting the HD much easier

my question is.. if dutty have the new tf3d on his rom, where did he found these files?

A wild guess: He has access to a Diamond 2 or Touch Pro 2 ROM The hardware of the HD is practicaly identical as well as the screen resolution so porting if any would be limited to disabling any eventual hardware checks for the particular device.
Have you ever wondered how we already have WinMo 6.5 for our devices while it's still at least 6 months away from market It was the same with 6.0 and 6.1
Anyone found a CAB for the TF3D V.2 for the HD? I don't want to flash my ROM, I haven't done it before and I am a bit iffy about it as I may lose everything on my phone with an hard reset. Anyone out there?
Bump! Anyone can help?

I see what you mean, I would like to have it also!
I guess we just have to flash our ROMs. LOL.
As far as I know, there are no cabs for TF3D V.2 (manila v3) and there aren't any in the making (and there won't, as I don't believe it's possible to intergrate the neccessary changes without cooking them into the ROM).
If you want it, you're gonna have to flash to a cooked ROM (or maybe an htc ROM if they choose to ever release one).
Sorry
I now know. If it was available, I am sure the cheifs here would of done one already. I just don't understand why HTC won't update these UIs for free. Free upgrades to the newest TF3D will be great and will create more loyal users. As most users won't change their phones every year. They will feel happier if they can just update the UI and use it as a new phone once in a while. I think free upgrades for phones up to 3 years old is a cool idea.
I'd really like if there was a twitter tab for touchflo3d on the TP2, like on the HTC Hero (android).... Is there someone who has this already done. Or is there something in development?
If you add the Touchflo Detacher application you can set the Touchflo3D soft key to open up your Twitter client. That's what I've done.
I agree. A Twitter tab would be nice!
Use Manila Today Page (MTP) and find a twitter app that has a today plugin.

Apparently it is, according to HTC. They're planning on porting the Sense UI to WinMo which in turn means the TP2 should definitely get it. I hope so anyway as it looks to work pretty well on the Hero.
To digress for a second, however, I would like to be able to assign a Twitter client to one of the tabs (I use Pocketwit) but I suspect there may be more to it than simply creating a tab. I would've thought it would involve tweaking the app itself to render properly in TouchFLO and there are quite a few Twitter apps out there at the moment.
I could be very wrong but that's my tuppence worth.
if all this is being done then does that possibly mean that one day they will release a touchflo without the battery being eaten up so quickly

HTC has never stated that they will be porting the Sense UI to devices like diamond2 and touchpro2..They have said that they will start using the Sense UI on future devices
I plan on working on a twitter tab come august 12 when I get a Touch Pro 2.
twitter tab for 6.5...
pocketwit already does this.. after installed its built in the 6.5 windows default screen under da g's 23025 build.. its ok, but i ran into issues with it.. so this relationship didn't form into what it should've been..
i actually didn't really prove an answer for those interested in using touchflo, but there's some way to enjoy twitter..
so now i'm in love with tiny twitter as it uses the entire screen.. i just do without the auto notifications.
yeah, sorry the twitter tab is only for titanium http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3693803&postcount=1

Hey, all. Long-time flasher, first(ish)-time poster. I think HTC Sense does a great deal of covering up for Windows Mobile, which is great... if you hate Windows Mobile. I don't. I love it. And that's all I want.
Right now I'm using Kumar's ROM on my HD2... hats off to all involved, by the way... but it's still not exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist. I don't know. I'll get to the point.
Here's what I'm after: a stock Windows Mobile 6.5.3 ROM. I don't want any of the HTC Sense bull**** on there. Not Sense, not HTC's SMS/MMS app, none of it. I want strictly Windows Mobile. Does something like this exist already, and I'm just retarded/overlooking it?
Thanks in advance for any help here, all.

I was working on a ROM like that, but in the end decided it was easier to just take Kumar's ROM, and turn off Sense/HTC Messaging.
start->settings->home->Items, disable Sense, enable Windows Default
Ok... disabling Sense on the home screen is easy enough, that I've already done. The real thing I'm after is disabling their messaging client. It hurts to use, I die a little inside every time I'm forced to interact with it. How do you disable that?

Also, Kumar is working on a Titanium ROM without the HTC Sense apps (especially messaging). Or, you can try SPB Mobile Shell to see if that suits you, though it is a commercial product.
THANK YOU!
Holy Hell... you have no idea how good it feels to use the stock WinMo SMS/MMS app. Well, maybe you do. Either way, that's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks again, man... and I will definitely keep an eye out for Kumar's Titanium ROM.

EnergyRom
NRGZ28 has a Titanium only rom with the HTC messaging already disabled by default. I would give that a look too
Oh brilliant, was hoping there'd be Titanium-only HD2 ROMs - I've got a TMoUS HD2 en-route at the moment, and although I've only played with M2D, I've never understood the fascination with TouchFlo. It's pretty, to be sure, but so memory-hungry and annoying to use. Although I suppose RAM-hogging won't be a factor when the HD2 has so much to spare, heh.
Link to HD2 EnergyROM w/Titanium-only version for anyone still looking.
Say, can anyone who loves Sense UI explain why? I'm just curious, having had bad experiences myself.

I love and hate sense.
As you can see from my signature, I use NRG's titanium ROMs on my TP2, because I get fed up of it, and it always feels slow.
The reason I loved it was the integration of everything in a today screen, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, all in one, along with weather, stocks and everything else I do daily .

For those who are interested, An updated Titanium ROM for TMOUS (Based on 23563) will be up before this weekend.

Not true at all. I'm not a big fan of sense. It's way more buggy than a lot of other great shells or ui's. I'm gonna start using SPB Mobile shell now that I've used sense for a few weeks to see if I grew to like it. I didn't.

Quite a few people have posted requesting Titanium-only ROMs, thats why several ROM chefs have started making them.
More people still prefer Sense, but there are plenty that do not.
Having actually gotten hold of said HD2 now, I'm really beginning to dig the Sense UI. It takes a bit of getting used to, and I think I'll be hunting for a ROM that has Titanium as well, in case I feel like switching between the two. The major advantages of Titanium are its low memory footprint, nifty clean look (Sense is not so clean, but it looks boring when it is) and having everything on a single screen, while having all the key information visible at a glance - the comm manager panel was the single most important app I had installed. But Sense does all of this too, with a few tweaks and some specific quick links. Although I'd really prefer to have comm manager status/links to favourite people/currently-playing music/new texts/new email/home tab visible all at the same time, I'm pretty sure I can deal with swiping to the left to get to Twitter, heh.
Funnily enough, my friends' reaction upon seeing Sense UI is "WOW, is that Android?"
I've built a rom with chuckys tools 23563 if you wanna try here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618787
i forgot to take out the htc dialler and that interferes with the reminder notification snoozing(gives you a choice of 5/10/15mins etc) so you might wanna google htc dialler disabler aswell.
Be aware i stripped out a lot of stuff with this so no opera or anything, i found it easier to try newer versions etc that way....
I feel you
Your post pushed me to find a way to do exactly what you're talking about. I love Titanium, and despise HTC Messaging.
I installed the Energy ROM ("standard" Sense build 23566) and it's perfect. Once you disable Sense you're good to go. HTC Messaging is not included! Fast, stable, and includes only minimal extra software. The default Start menu arrangement is excellent.
Cheers,
Rob

Schaps is still releasing TouchXperience???? When I started on this forum in 2007....I couldn't wait for Schaps to release that.....then for personal reasons, he was gone. I'm hoping you are saying he is going to release his 'latest' version....because if he still hasn't released his first version...yet...you may want to keep looking. I've always found his work very good....but the drama very high.
have you even heard of the home screen customizer?
it pretty much saves winmo6.5.
go into the Marketplace on your phone, and just search "home screen customizer".
it's amazing, hardly anyone finds it.
I just went to the htc uk website and saw that they have released a rom upgrade for O2 users of the phone called 1.72.

nice/fast/stable
It's running nice/fast/stable on my gf's hd2, but it looks a bit dated once you've tried some of the 6.5.3 roms. Are Microsoft not releasing 6.5.3 to HTC or something? It's really strange that they don't seem to want to promote advances in the OS when android and the like are getting over the air updates to their phones. Little things like the documents tab and the eReader tab from 6.5.3 (plus the fact it's just that little bit more finger friendly) make it all a bit more exciting to show off.
Gotta love my HD2 though Is it true you can't even change the background picture on an iPhone?

I've always had footprints on mine. Why would they add something that already exists.
PS
damn hoss beat me to it
Didn't really see anything different from what we normally have. Hopefully it will increase the over all speed of the phone.
Why is HTC still messing around with 6.5, are then intending to release 6.5.x next year? This is one thing I will surely not miss, HTC taking their sweet time providing updates that are on their own devices.
if you look through the ext package versions theyre mostly older or same as what is in 2.13 rom.
