I'm looking for a Hero-based ROM (currently using MyHero 1.1.3), that has built-in VPN client and other advanced networking tools that are available in Android 1.6 donut. The best would be a Hero ROM based on Android 1.6, but as far as I know, there is no such ROM yet. Maybe this can be solved from the other side - porting Hero applications (People, Calendar, Music, Widgets etc.) to the Android 1.6 based ROM. I like so much the Hero feel on my HTC Magic, but I need to use VPN client in my device. I'm confused, there is so much ROMs without detailed description. Could you help me?

Hello guys. I'm fairly new to this whole android os. it works fine for me except the keyboard is really annoying. its slow to respond. I'm not sure if the problem is a result of my phone. I have an Htc vogue running android 1.1 pls help. I really like the android platform and if I can get the keyboard to work right that'll be great.
1.1 was designed to have a hardware keyboard, if your running the latest kernel you could try overclocking and see if it makes it better for you. Android 1.5 or 'cupcake' contains a keyboard in the userspace as well we've been able to get the new HTC keyboard working on the android kernel as well. Check our posts in the last couple pages of the other android thread.
Hi all
I need some advice as to the best option for a twitter client for TD2, I flashed Dutty's latest rom which had native a twitter client (removed it and reinstalled 6.1 due to memory problems, waiting for official rom release anyhow...) Anything of similar quality available?
Thanking you in advance
I use Pocketwit and I'm satisfied with it, easy ti use and a lot options
"Works on VGA, QVGA and SmartPhone devices"
Here is a video of htc hero with the latest rom on the htc eris hero is a villain video of Rom

Yeah right, another video of the same custom rom (there are like ... endless amounts of those droid eris leak videos). Would you people at least show new features? No, it's not a new feature if it was shown by all the other videos already. I know what the pinch homescreen leep whatever thing looks like, everyone does. More important are the features inside. Does it have a proper VPN client to connect to professional VPN networks? Are the bugs in the browser solved (You couldn't actually select and copy with the trackball in the 1.5 Senseui)? What about the new features there... selecting words to translate? Any new languages/input systems?
Man, really. Why do people make those crappy videos that don't contain anything new. And why do you post that here?
For me, I would like to know how WPA2-Enterprise and certificates work in 2.1
I know HTC implemented some form of WPA2-Enterprise in Hero, but I couldn't get it to install *.ca or *.cer certificates (Android 1.5 doesn't originally support WPA2-Enterprise)
Also, are there any new widgets?
I heard there's supposed to be new twitter client
GRemote Pro should also work through bluetooth on Android 2.0 and higher
Hi, currently I have a Nexus One (AT&T) and I am very happy with it, unfortunately I cannot use my corporate email (Exchange), they have strict security rules, so my only option to use our corporate email is via Windows Mobile, iPhone or Palm.
After reviewing the specs for the HD2 seems to be a very nice device, but I've read as well about some reliability issues. I am going to use the phone mainly for email check, Gmail (IMAP) and Corporate Email (Exchange), and of course as a basic mobile phone with a Bluetooth Headset, and some basic applications, like Stocks, Weather, etc.
As a summary I need a phone that will be realiable and predictable in those BASIC functions, do you think (based on your experience) that installing a Custom ROM with some tweaks to a Telstra HD2 (I need the 850Mhz for AT&T) will be reliable enough to fulfill my objectives ?, and I will not have to be resetting the phone on a daily basis ?
Thanks a lot
Definitely!!! Strongly recommend a HD2 for email, exchange especially
HD2 has a stronger point for using email than any other phones or OS I have used, included Iphone and Android. I love the way Winmo and Sense manage email acc
Hi Brosen,
It depends on your ROM. I have been extremely happy with my HD2 using Miri's ROM - extremely stable and solid. I almost never have to reset the phone. I did try a couple of other roms which weren't nearly as stable.

Hi, thanks, where can I find the Miri's ROM ?, it's not in the Development section of XDA-Developers,
My wife and I got HD2s on release day. I've tweaked mine a fair amount and added a ton of programs, she hasn't. We both used stock Rom. I've had to reset my phone a few times and have noticed some choppy animations on the home screen. Hers is as smooth as butter and never had to be reset. Draw your own conclusions.
Hello,
After the Gingerbread update I was expecting the Native SIP/VoIP Client Android comes with however I have not been able to find it. Did Motorola remove this feature? My EVO 3D has it built in and works fine.
yep use a client or wait for AOSP ROM
