Hello
So far over thirty views on this post and not one response.
If i have to pay for a fix i will.
It would be nice if someone could help thats all.
PLEASE
Well I've spending most of my time trying to find the thread that has already addressed this issue, but have been unable to locate it.
Anyhow if I remember correctly the thread talked about leaving the unit in the cradle while on until it booted on its own.

I think you are mistaking this forum for a paid-for support service.
If you look for Radio Stack Upgrades on this forum (or any place else on the net), you would notice lots of things can go wrong during these upgrades. These problems appear to stem from various sources, and there's not one easy solution. Our official advice is never to upgrade the RSU until you really, really, really have to, and know that the upgrade will fix know issues that are bothering you. You would also see your general question has been dealt with in detail many times before, which may be the reason people did not jump to answer your question promptly.
On recovery from RSU problems: many people have claimed success from various rescue methods, whose recipes you will find on this forum if you use the search function. If neither of these help, you'll have to send the unit in for service. Radio upgrade problems really show a main design weakpoint of the XDA. But hey, we didn't design it, and we didn't sell it to you either. We're just assembled here to help ourselves, and as many other people as we can. On behalf of this entire community, I apologize for the fact that we couldn't help you as promptly as is the obvious birthright of someone of your stature.
I can sense you're someone special. You post your problem and expect the perfect answer within 24 hours. If you don't get it, you then top it off by writing a post with subject '**** you all', and say you will buy a Sony Clie instead. Now I could tell interesting stories about something which Sony calls 'customer support', but I will not. Our world is a better place if you buy a Clie, and yours may be too. I'm sure many people on this forum would be more than happy to provide suggestions as to what to do with your old XDA.
No I do not think im special, nor do i think this is a "pay for fix" service.
I received my xda prior to release as my company writes software for the XDA. I have been reviewing this forum since it first started, when the only way to get round the sim-lock was to force a software error.
Yes things have progressed...a great deal, and it is by far the best xda site on the web. I recommend this site daily to associates and clients daily,
but it would also seem that some people have a "greater than thou" elitest attitude, and ignore any post which does not challenge their supreme intellect.
I would have been more than happy with a simple "go to this thread" rather than being passed over because my problem is not interesting.
I fly to Saudi on Tuesday, so if anyone wants a mint xda with cradle. then you can have it for free.
If anyone also wants the IPR for xda software that will make them alot of money then let me know. The concept has been tested and the IBM labs in Winchester have agreed to lend any equipment required.
Regardless of your sarcastic undertones, thank for for at least posting a reply.

Good news, here is another video from my country! HD2 runing the WP7!!!

Sorry guys, we still dont know who has the rom, but i guess, she may be a businessman. the reason why she dont want to release the rom is that she just want to raise the prices of HD2. i hate this practice. I have inquired the mobile char, its belong to the Shenzhen City.
You may have already seen the video, but somebody may need it:
Link:http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjIwODU2NzQ0.html
no idea why anyone would want to watch another video of someone else's phone.
The hype over wp7 on hd2 has got totally out of hand. It's not even particularly good on a wp7 phone.
Bored of wobbly videos. They should release it so people here can try it or shut up!
hi, guy, Don’t be so grumpy about it. we just want to confirm that the HD2 can really run WP7, sooner or later they will release the rom, whatever it takes, this is a good news, right?

Don't mean to sound grumpy or put anyone's efforts down.
But its just not news anymore. I think most rational minded people have probably accepted wp7 on hd2 exists. That much we know from Devs inside XDA already.
Yeah I'll try it on hd2 when released.. but I already know I'll use 6.5.3 as my daily driver for a good while to come. WP7 is everything we here should hate given its so locked down - it really isn't worth this fuss!
Ok nice but wheres the link????

I think one of the reasons people are hungry for news of running Windows Phone 7 on the HTC HD2 is that it is part of the inherent spirit of the original purpose of organizing XDA-Developers in the first place. XDA of course was a brand name used by 02 on the first phones they sold that were manufactured by a relatively young Taiwanese company that had changed its name of Hi Tech Computers to HTC. The original XDA-DEvelopers guys were mostly engineers and were determined to unlock more features of these PDAs, as well as making these PDAs do more than what they were first intended to do. The XDA-Developers guys knew that the more people involved, the more knowledge could be gained and shared.
I still have an old O2 XDA II that is happily running Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It originally came with Windows Mobile 2003, Chinese version. XDA-Developers has allowed this old PDA to have a really extended life.
XDA-Developers has really changed over the years as membership grew. Much civility of the older members is being drowned out by new members, to the point where a noob of a few months calls others noobs and cannot offer any other information than to search.
I enjoy seeing any news on the development of Windows Phone 7 on the HD2; it is similar to when our PDAs running on 2003 could migrate to 2005, and then 6.x
I also appreciate the fact that our friends in China are participating more now. Some of the younger guys there now are really highly trained specialists in areas that pertain to smart phones. And, I appreciate the fact that some of these guys in China are making an effort to keep us updated on any progress that is made there.
I think we should all also remember that for some Chinese it is a daunting challenge to navigate a complex site like XDA-Developers, and that it is not always easy for them to communicate what they really want to when they have to translate from Chinese to English. It is much more difficult to do this than, say, translate a European language into English.
So, hopefully, allowances should be made, and we should all welcome the participation of our Chinese friends. Now, I wish HTC would go back to making truly global phones, rather than regional phones, LOL
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for the info, but i can't find the link to the video ^^
Plenty of intelligent comments there. Hey I wouldn't be reading the thread if I wasn't interested in the news.
On the subject of spirit of XDA though - until there's openess and sharing then they're not complying to what this place stands for. Right now its just building publicity and we're all wondering for what gain for them.

My own personal opinion is that there has been no sharing of the ROM demoed in the videos is that what we saw was actually an earlier test of Windows Phone 7 on the HD2. I am sure you know that the HD2 was used as a testbed for the earlier development of Windows Phone 7. Others have commented on certain elements in the video that appear to be similar to earlier testing ROMs.
So, I guess, in the end, those in China who are in possession of the HD2 running WP7 are not much closer to developing a flashable ROM than others. In short, I think there is no ROM yet to be shared.
I think we also need to distinguish those who filmed the video (who may well be doing it for financial gain) from our Chinese friends who have signed up as members of XDA-Developers. Clearly, there is a major difference between these two groups of people.
Of course, all the above is just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
You got a good point.
True, patient is a virtue. Please get yourself a seat and wait! Hope that gooooood news pop out soon!

I think we should refrain from making posts in languages other than English as the rules of the forum are that it is an English forum. XDA-Developers moderators tend to get upset when they see other languages!
Other than that, no way will I get involved in flag disputes, but I do love those old Japanese style bath houses in Beitou, just north of Taipei. Really a relaxing experience after debating on XDA-Developers hours on end.

Preface: The continuity of posts leading to the following mini-essay were rightly deleted by the mods, as those posts contained languages other than English. However, I feel the main points of this mini-essay remain valid. I am not trying to create conflict, but remind others what XDA-Developer is all about: inclusiveness instead of exclusiveness, and technology, not nationality.
Although, due to historical and geographical reasons, I am much more familiar with Traditional Chinese characters, rather than Simplified Chinese characters, I was able to follow the gist of the conversation. Even though the conversation was mostly in jest, it still was somewhat unsettling to me.
Just as I will stand up for you guys in China, so I will do for the Japanese. If you check all the different forums on XDA-Developers you will find many Japanese who have made exceptional contributions to the site and its members. XDA-Developers is really a global tech site, which should remain inclusive rather than exclusive. So, when we log in, I think we should drop our nationalistic preconceptions at the door and get down to the work of concentrating on our devices supported by XDA-Developers. What do you think about that?
In the past I have chastised those who use cheap nationalist jokes against others from another country, and I will do that again. You know that to be a truth, as you have read some of those posts.
I know some of you guys from China have had a bit of a tough time breaking into the social community of XDA-Developers, so I hope you guys don't dish out to others what you suffered when you first joined this site.
Well, that is said and done, and soon to be forgotten.
And, I can climb down from my soapbox again. I think I need a vacation from climbing up and down from that soapbox. It is really tiring me out!
PS. A couple things to always remember, always post in English, don't assume "others" aren't comprehending what you type in your native language, and park nationalist prejudices at the door so that you can truly enjoy what XDA-Developers has to offer without causing conflicts.

A news of calling from HD2 WP7 video recorder.

I had known about the poor translator.
Now I say to you all directly.
Many Chinese from xda.cn and members in here had seen the HD2 WP7 Video. From this video, we can find out 2 call number. One is 1860XXXXXXX and another is 1362XXXXXXX. My friend had called the number 1362XXXXXXX, and that person (maybe video recorder) said the HD2 WP7 ROM has many problems and if you install it and then you cannot return to WM6.5. So he dose not publish this ROM. I really don't konw whether this reason is true or false. I still believe that person is kindness. I am very glad for having communicated with him. We can call him again in a suitable time. I believe he can do more things about HD2.
Thank you.

Is he an English called the chinese then wrote down what he could understand ? or is he a chinese guy called the ROM's developer and asked ?'s then translated it to english for xda members for some reason ?
What I could barely understand is that we shouldn't be asking about the rom and it still have some problems (i.e can't reverse to WM 6.5 after flashing WP7) as well as we should await patiently

I tried to run that through Google Translate by translating it from Chinese to English and the translation came out exactly the same??
Maybe the original post was not in Chinese?
At very begining, I believed the translator can do it very well.
But I was wrong. So please accept my apologize.
oh understand! thanks for your provide information
Basically he and other Chinese individuals who are interested in WP7 on the HD2 have called a number asking for more information and have been told that the rom has issues, not least of which is that you are unable to restore a wm6.5 rom to the phone if you decide you dont want WP7 on it anymore. Still very much beta.
Maybe you can call him again and tell him to release his rom so the genius here work it out
We dont want wp 6.5
ficou entendido?
Translation:
What the chinese man want to say is : if you try to install the wp7 build you will be a stone paper on your desk =)

First, I think we should thank Luoyong for sharing this information with us. I am quite interested in just how the person in the video got the ROM on the HD2. Was it similar to the usual method of updating a stock ROM, or flashing a cooked ROM? One also wonders if something more esoteric like JTAG had to be used. Or, did the person somehow get his hands on one of the HD2s that was used as a testbed for WP7 in its earlier stages of development?
Hopefully, with more information, and more understanding, those naysayers who keep saying all of this is fake will be silenced.
Once again, thanks to Luoyong for sharing this information with us. I look forward to reading more information about this subject from Luoyong, who obviously is a reliable source.

There is no WP 6.5 but if you are not able to get back to Windows Mobile 6.5, i mean to install a stock ROM, you can also throw your phone into the dustbin at today dev status with WP7.
The developer from the video could get in contact with the guys from xda. Then a working WP7 ROM on the HD2 is possible, very soon

On xda.cn we can find a WP7 theme software on WM6.5 mixed ROM. I let someone flash this rom. The desktop is similar with WP7. But call interface and more others are WM6.5's. At the same time I was seeing this video. In the video, many functions and opreation was not like WM6.5. I really don't know whether the operation is WP7 or not. Maybe it's a flash sofware? But she really call abother phone to show WP7 calling.
Before this video anouncement, HD2 price become increase. From 2 months ago the pirce has increase from 2600RMB to 3100RMB. On xda.cn someone has guessed the relation between the video and price.
One hand, if this video is not true, of course ,we don't know how to realize this effect by a false method agaist ROM flash. Surely it's likely to explain that the business man didn't want to share a false method and this result will impact HD2 phone sale.
On the other hand, if the HD2 WP7 ROM is true, I believe he had not reasons to protect this rom from us. Because businessman and we are not know each other. So QQ team and I will do our best to try to contact with him to make clear this information and release his concern. We hope he or she can publish this ROM for us and we can support he or she to complete HD2 WP7 ROM.
By the end, I am from China and I had using PPC->WM for 5 years. I am willing to help us to resolve this misunderstanding. Thanks all a lots and Chinese are friendly.
I call the video recorder just now.
I am very sorry to tell us that HD2 WP7 ROM is not true.
In this calling I am very pleased to ask about whether the ROM is true.
And he quickly said two words “假的” (in English it is "false"). Suddently he droped the call.
I really don't know how to simulate so truely.
I am so disappoint about it.
So xda-developers and xda.cn members need work hard by another method. Maybe Russian can help us.
So I am very sorry again in the name of Chinese.

Hi Louyong,
You are welcome, Louyong
Perhaps it is a bit easier for me to understand the situation, as I have been in contact with a few of you guys in China, and the fact that I am one of those guys who has spent most of my life in Asia. I did hear about the prices of the HD2 rising there, which seems odd to say the least, especially with the release of WP7 coming soon there. Already in Taiwan, both CHT and Taiwan Mobile are selling English UI versions of two HTC WP7 phones, so I do not think the price of HD2s will rise here. From Taiwan Mobile, one can buy an HD2, without a contract for about NT$13,000. I expect that price will drop again soon.
I really do appreciate your efforts in getting to the bottom of the whole situation. Unfortunately, there were a few impetuous individuals on XDA-Developers who were, shall we say, disrespectful to an extreme. This threatened to cause increasing misunderstandings between East and West, and XDA-Developers and XDA.CN.
Fortunately, there are guys like you who are really cool, so I think the situation will not escalate any further. Again, I, for one, really appreciate your efforts in getting the definitive facts of this situation.
Just think what could happen if the top developers of XDA-Developers and XDA.CN got together to collaborate!
Again, thanks for your efforts in this situation. I know there are many decent, good people on XDA-Developers who will also appreciate your efforts.

That was fast work there, Louyong. It could be that he has an HD2 that was used as a testbed for WP7, as some of the UI did look like earlier UI prototypes. As far as I know, there are a few HD2s floating around that were used for WP7 testbeds.
Maybe we will never know now the real truth about that video, but you are right, it looks like it will be others who finally port WP7 to the HD2.
Well, it does not really matter that the information was not happy, what is important is that you gave us the correct current situation, and thanks for that.

Personal reflexions about Samsung and this forum

Hi!
I came first at imate jam times (mean HTC Magician). Have enjoy here a lot and, figuratively, this XDA world has been my second home for more than six year.
Before, I have been at doom's 9 (a DVD decryption and edition forum). And even before in Peque's Worlds (a Spanish Secam and Nagra decryption forum).
I use to write Access VBA for my own since more than 20 years and remember the times when I connect to a BBS with a 28 kbs modem. So, nearly sure, I’m older than most of the people here.
In real life I'm lawyer and use my smartphone for work everyday.
My last device (HTC HD2 running WinMo) pass away last summer (to be franc it is at the 'doctor' to get a new screen) and when I ordered my SIII, I was really afraid of so many changes coming.
Finally, English is not my mother language. I have, mostly, learned to read and write it here.
All that introduction is my small presentation in this SIII forum (not my first post). A way to justify why I dare to open a new thread and, finally, a pray for a little condescendence with my personal and not natively writed opinion.
After three months here, going to the subject, I'm slowly learning to use this new toy. Still far from providing something evaluable, but beginning to understand this new ecosystem with the help of a handful of masters that are teaching here for nothing.
I’m grateful to all of them and to XDA forums in general, but on the other side I’m also feeling that particularly this SIII area is a little missed, being feed by Samsung without order nor proposal and a little clutered by no sense.
Do we really need so many leaks and roms for our devices? Do we really need to lose time asking each other if UK leak should be first or not? Or, as an advanced user’s community, shouldn't we better be asking Samsung firmly to solve all the problems we find and to push fixes to our devices without waiting new local otas or leaks.
In general we have a very good device. Hardware is incredible. Android is a wonderful open source project. And Touchwiz a very nice interface made by Samsung for us.
But touchwiz is also the reason why many people bought a Samsung phone and mandatory interface for a lot of functions, and definitively it has some glitches very difficult to understand.
Should we really be changing manually firmwares to get a colour to our likes?
Don’t we deserve a proper skining system, to decide the colour of our notification bar or to change the switches we has in it, with just a menu option?
Do we deserve a final fix for lags, the battery gripes lot of people has suffer without an explanation or the poor dialer we get?
Shouldn’t Samsung forget that way of feeding us and begin to work to solve immediately the problems we find and to send us and maintain daily updated a software that at least do right the few things it should do out of the box.
Come on Sammy, you have make wonderful things for this device (prediction in Keyboard is incredible, battery life is most of the time incredible, interactivity in touchwiz is very well constructed...) but you are also kidding us and being dumb to the voice of the people that at the end could tell you what the user need...
Don’t know if it will be for god or not, but for me threads asking for solutions, like the one claiming Exynos sources, are the ones who should be pinned and treads like “Increase your battery life up to 500% (All android phones)” or the one discussing which should be the leaks order, must be immediately closed and forget. Personally I feel that only this way XDA’s SIII forum will has the chance to do the things forums has made for advance and knowledge I other areas.
To conclude and focusing, shouldn’t we refuse to act like a laboratory mouse and drive to more constructive ways, with clear petitions to Sammy internal developers?
Thats all.
Please, forgive me if this sound a little stupid ....or should go to and specific threat

simple. request. has anyone who will listen

Hello
developer or many others share with us their experiences in this wonderful site and thanked them and we respect their work. but I often find when they give their instructions on how to flash or manipulate smartphones they negligent rather those who are not specialists in the field. (and believe me. they are many here) provided that such manipulations are of way more explanatory especially when the flash supports various phones such as here z1 c6902.6903. Z1C etc ..
example. (I will not mention what .rome) but the best rom. that I've tested up here but with aroma to flash and differentiate what kernel and when to select according to the phone that he is Origin Lock or UNLOCK. or save the zip file. in SD or SD-ext. what version we have before making anything. Me for example I'm ny happen that in the third test. if there was an explanation or intructions for each case or capture images that would be much simpler. ca and would help alot has not bricking their smartphone.
Thank you. and sorry for my English .I am franchophone.
Yes, I believe more inexperienced users are more neglected because this website was targeted more toward power users - "XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers".
If you need support for a specific ROM you should ask in the ROM thread in the development section.
Don't worry too much about bricking your phone, just remember to read everything and do some research before attempting anything you're unsure of.
My own personal experience
Let me talk to you about my own personal experience on these forums. I have been active on these forums for at least 2 years now I think. One thing people always say (which I neglected early on but understood the value of immediately) is reading. I personally feel Sony phones are the easiest phones to flash things on and recover from a bad state. We have a lot of great tools that are easy to use (which may or may not be the case with other OEMs.)
My first smartphone was a Sony Xperia S which I had softbricked by flashing a GB kernel on an ICS rom (because I read it on a different website) I didn't know how to fix it until I posted a question in the appropriate section on xda. Instantly fixed it. Got a reply in literally 2 minutes and fixed it in 5. I understood the value of reading the info on the site. Xda does not punish ignorance, but at the same time, does not foster it either. People will always help. But also insist that you equip yourself with the tools to help yourself. I learnt so much in my time here, and will always be greatful to the community here. It has helped me grow to a point where I am extremely confident of my skills in fixing issues, no matter what.
To repeat the xda mantra,
Read, read and read. Then read some more.
