iPaq 614c update problems - Sable

Hi, I own a dutch HP iPaq 614c Business Navigator and I tried to update my device with the HP SP40079 Rom update file.
I used the cracked .dll to bypass the language check and the update succeeded.
(I did disable antivirus and firewall because it gave me problems with the wan radio update)
When I booted up my device again, the boot screen tells the firmware has been updated(0.88), but the OS remains the same as before the update(1.00.04).
If I start the update utility again, it shows the Wan Radio driver has been updated, but the Bootloader and the iPaq file storage haven't.

Anyone who knows a solution for this?
P.S. I use Windows 7 RTM x64

when you say "update" what are you updating? the FW? ROM?
If your trying to update the ROM, first run the official HP updates to update the the FW to 1.04 and 0.89 (using activsync)
then try the ROM files via sd card.

solution to 1% flash failed problem (RSU_3.23.01.exe)

i have the same 1% flash failed problem. here's what i did.
1. prepare an SD card with the RUU_3.16.52 extracted using XDArit.exe (use XDArit.exe to transfer the ROM in c:\program files\RUU\english\NK.nbf to the SD) you need to have a USB SD Card Reader in order to do this. buy one if you have to.
2. prepare a second SD card with the repair files stored in the root directory (RSUpgrade.sa.CAB 4,305,434bytes, and the 2577 folder) just like whoever suggested, but replace the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB on the root of SD with the one you extracted in c:\program files\Radio Stack Upgrade Utility\RSUpgrade.sa.CAB (4,328,441bytes) by running RSU_3.23.01.exe (which had unfortunately caused the failure.)
2. insert the SD card with the RUU_3.16.52. press the power button while performing a soft reset. you should enter the wallaby loader screen. i have version 5.15. press action to flash the ROM to your xda.
3. cold boot your xda. you should see the blud Qtek screen. in the lower-right-hand corner you should see
G
R
3.16.52
4. you may be asked to calibrate your screen by tipping the four corners.
5. press the volume button. insert the second SD card (containg the repair files and the 4,328,441bytes SUpgrade.sa.CAB (NOT the 4,305,434bytes one, because it will cause freezing at 1%!) wait patiently until the upgrade finishes. you may put the xda back to the cradle for power as long as it doesn't reset itself.
if anything goes wrong, start from step 2 again.
NOTE: i may have skipped some steps in the above. but that's the best i could remember. good luck.
if you haven't upgraded the Qtek ROM and the Radio Stack, learn the risk before attempting!!!

XDArit - read error from SD card?

Hi !
i tried to read my saved 3.14-ger rom from my SD card (saved as boot+ce)... but XDArit (new version) says: Did not find correct flash signature, aborting!
Why ? what did i do wrong?
Jabba
what does it display in the first page ?
does it start with 'HTC$WALLABY' ( if so what number follows? )
or does it say 'FLASH KEY'
or does it say 'FAT16'
nothing was displayed.
was very weird... i installed some win2k-drivers on my winxp for the sd-card, now it works !
my one see FAT16 it not 'HTC$WALLABY' WHAT I MAKE WRONG >?
WHAT ARE U MORE INSTALL ON TO XP ? PLEASE TELL ME I NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLME TOO
if you see 'fat16' that means your sd card is still formatted for normal use.
after xdarit or your bootloader have written data to your sd card,
you will see 'HTC$WALLABY' in the first bytes.
the 'FLASH KEY' is what you would see with bootloader 5.17, I am not sure
if xdarit supports this correctly.
I didn't need to install anything on XP, I just plugged a usb cardreader
in my pc, you see some popups about windows finding new hardware, and drivers. and after about 1 minute it worked.
the new ver 1.2 of XDArit.exe
when i use it Write a image to sd card,it 's return a error

Same Here
I get the same message in XDArit.,
Also. recently installed the latest program A update 3.17 from O2 to my UK XDA all went well, then (before I discovered this website!!) I foolishly (it now seems) went to the Program B uprade. this hubg up in mid flash!!
Now my poor XDA is in a sorry condition does wird and wonderful things, random backlight on off, responds to ocasional button pushes.
where can I get the GSM ROM to flash into it?
I also receive XDARite error with version 1.0.2.....
I have tried three different card readers and all of them give me this error....

Lumpi - or anyone: 2 Quick Questions

All/Lumpi/Anyone:
First, thanks for a great site. I've managed to really appreciate the efforts that go into the work here and on the Wiki, and it's great.
My model: Wallaby TMobile US Original XDA
Current Info:
ROM: 4.01.16 ENG (Thanks to Lumpi's tasty kitchen)
ROM DATE: 02/04/04
Radio Version: 6.18.00
Protocol Version: 324e4
Desire/Objective:
I'd like to upgrade not only to the Windows Mobile 2003 SE, but I'd also like to update the RS to 6.25 (I'm in the US).
Problems:
(1) When I attempt to download the Rom (in EXE format, per Lumpi's kitchen), I cannot execute it as the errors start in the console window (ERROR: GetDeviceData), screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and second screenshot (window #2) :
Previously, without issue, I updated my ROM using the SD CARD Method and another ROM on Lumpi's site -- in fact the ROM listed above, without any major problem. And I realize that Lumpi mentions that this ROM is special, and cannot be used through the SDCARD Load or OSImageTool because this is a differently formatted ROM (being a Windows Mobile 2003 SE edition). Then, what specifically is the procedure to get this working? Do I need AdaptAROM? I'm sorry to ask, but I've searched and could not find the link.
(2) Second, I've tried (from the FTP site) to download RSU_040204_6_25 (thinking, logically, that this is the right RSU for my unit config (Date of 4.012.00 ENG). But how exactly am I to update the radio stack and *should* I update it? Has anyone else used this stack?
Many thanks, in advance.
Lumpi -- if you need space to host another kitchen, let me know.
The 4.01.16 prohibits flashing via EXE file. So you can not upgrade diretly to WM2003SE.
Download anonther ROM eg. 3.17.03 or the XDA Developers ROM 1.2 flash your Device via SD Card and then you can Upgrade via EXE-File to WM2003SE
Concerning the RSU Upgrade, there are different files on the FTP. Some are for running on your PC with connected Wallaby via ActiveSync and there ore some files (Should have _PPC in the filename) that have to run directly on the Wallaby. Extract the downloaded ZIP-File and copy all files to the /Windows directory of your device and run the RSUpgrade.exe
If you don´t have any problems with your telephone i would suggest to stay at your current Radio Stack... Upgrading this is a rixk everytime....
Some made good experiences with removing SIMcard before flashing, some other made good experiences with sim inside...
Stefan
PS: Thx for the offer, but i think i´ve got enough. Currently I´ve got 2 working kitchens up....

[Q] CWM flashing problem <data transfer failure> [Huawei S7 2.2]

SEE POST #3 FOR SOLUTION
I'm having an issue I can't get past..
I've got the Indonesian 2.2.2 rom on my Australian (Telstra) device (external sd, 2 cameras, resistive)
I'm using goodoane's v2.2 compatable CWM, and xaueious's easy windows flasher. The phone is rooted using superoneclick, and all drivers are installed fine. It process through all the steps until the following one with no problems.
Trying to install , but get the following error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you see it says FAILED <data transfer failure <too many open files in system>>
I cannot figure out a way to get around this. Using the easy windows install script. Please help!
Downgraded to 2.1 and tried the same with 2.1 img. Exact same error. Someone please help :/
OK, so I figured it out.
The drivers weren't installing properly on either of my windows 7/intel core 2 duo systems. So, I hooked the tablet up to me Windows 2000 torrent box, and the huawei drivers installed fine.
I was able to root through that computer, but as seen above I was unable to flash CWM.
So, after more tinkering, I became dedicated to fixing the drivers on my Windows 7 computers.
I copied the driver info from my Win2000 box, and then plugged the tablet into my Win7 PC.
Instead of using the 'update driver option' by pointing the computer to a specific location (where the huawei drivers were), I selected 'have disk', and then did that.
The drivers for 'Win7&XP' were still not working, so I decided screw it, and pointed the computer to the 'Win7-AMD' drivers using the have disk option. I specified the correct INF (as seen in driver details from the Win2000 box), and to my surprise it installed correctly!
I then enabled USB debugging, and followed the exact same process; pointing my computer to the Windows 7-AMD drivers as opposed to the Win7&XP drivers, even though I have an intel CPU. It worked.
I then flashed CWM onto my Tablet with the stock 2.1 rom. I'm now upgrading to indonesian 2.2 and will flash the appropriate 2.2 version of CWM, which i'm sure will work.
Hope this helps someone out there!
