Hi,
I have a problem sending email over an smtps connection with my
WM6 device and a selfsigned ssl certificate.
Receiving emails over imaps is not a problem at all. When receiving
emails the first time a popup window mentioned the untrusted certificate.
This was not the case when sending email.
Had anyone a similar issue before?
I'm quite sure there is a registry hack or something else out there, to solve the problem.
Thanks for your help.
Tobi
i'm using HTC Universal, has the same problem to send email too (yahoo! and gmail)
then i try to install seven push email (www.seven.com) and now has no problem to send email again.
why push mail (seven) can do that? i have no idea, perhaps someone can explain it.
another email (smtp) for this moment, i should foward them to gmail. it's not a good solution, but its better then nothing.

I've been trying to get push email on my PDA. I was trying Exchange Server and AUTD. For those of you who don't know, the way this works is that when new email is received the server sends an SMS to your mobile which causes it to initiate a server activesync.
This is not an SMS which you see - it's a service SMS that the PDA acts upon.
The SMS that was being sent to my phone was:
//SCKL040A AwFqAAADxgADBQHDEMGPINNIoHX2gEOfBBnWxQEB
I wonder if there is a similar SMS content which would cause the phone to initiate a send/receive on on ordinary email account.
Does anybody know anything about how these SMS messages work?
Have u found anything, Baldboy? I got the same idea, and posted it to the number of forums, but no reply - apparently, nobody is interested, however it seems to be the cheapest and simplest way to organize blackberry-free pushmail without any modifications to the server...

Read MSDN. Everything is perfectly working.
Just enter email address of SMS<->email gateway for your phone when asked, setup ActiveSync to sync email with exchange server, and set device to sync "when items arrive".
Of cause this would work only with exchange server. I have exchange 2003 SP1 and WM5 device.
Can anyone please help with a problem I have noticed on my Imate Jasjar. I have configured Push Email and mail is being received realtime as it should. My difficulty is when replying or sending a new email it will remain in the Outbox on the device until another new message arrives from the Exchange Server or a manual Sync is initiated on the device.
Is this normal behaviour?
I have ticked 'Send outgoing items immediately' under Schedule in ActiveSync settings but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Has anybody else noticed this?
Hi,
Did you find a resolution for this?
I have a XDA Mini and just set it up with DirectPus exchange. Emails are arriving on the device okay, but send items seem to sit in the outbox. They only go when I receive another email or force a sync.
Like you I have ticked the "Send immediately" box but that doesn't work.
This problem is making the directpush more or less useless as I keep forgetting to force a sync and then hours later realise why I haven't had a reply - it's still sat in the outbox!!
Help!

Rbmerlin,
I found a solution - with no thanks to Imate or Microsoft though. (Both blamed each other for thee problem and no one wanted to take any responsibiity!)
The solution is to set ther ActiveSync on the device without using the PC ActiveSync. Initially I set up ActiveSync on the desktop and the settings propogated to the device which was synced.
By trial and error I discovered that when ActiveSync is setup on the Jasjar by itself all is good and the Sync functions as it had with previous non-push roms.
I have tried this with serveral of my customers devices and problem is resolved. Hoping rhis helps you out.
Hi,
Firstly i appolagise if this has been answered else where, i have looked and it may not be in the right place but does come under software i guess, not the easiest of things to word.
Basically i use my diamond to connect to my exchange server which hosts my personal mail, i have a forwarder which forwards all my mail to the exchange, so i can easily pick up my work mail from my person exchange.
This is where my problem begins when i reply to a email or send it uses my exchange mail box.
I have added the work mail box to my phone with a rogue pop3 for source email so i am not pulling the same email from 2 sources, and specified smtp correctly and used the right username\pass.
I hoped by doing this when i send an email or replied it would ask me which account to send from however it uses which ever account you are in at the time of creating the mail.
I don't know if anyone else has achieved this or even tried anything similar.
Any suggestions welcomed.
thanks in advance
james
Hi all,
Just thought id post this in hoping someone might of had the same problem and might be able to resolve this.
My Boss has just got a htc hero and has had his corporate email setup on the device via exchange.
Now he has problems when forwarding emails. He basically sends mail but the recepient receives his email as an attachment (.eml file)
It doesnt appear to happen on internal mail. Is there any settings to look out for on the hero itself? Plenty of others here have there work email setup fine on various devices and no one else has this problem.
I have been using the new HTC Email app for my work e-mail and I am noticing that when I mark an email as Read on the server or in my desktop email client it doesn't mark as read on my phone.
When I read an email on my phone it does not mark the email as read on the server.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Anyone have any ideas on a solution.
Thanks

mark as read
I had the same problem with 1 particular email. I signed into my gmail account outside of the app and found the email in question to mark as read. That was a one time thing for me and I haven't had it happen. Is this a re-occurring issue with yours?
I have that problem also and it also does not show all messages in my inbox only the most recent.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Have exactly the same problem with my school imap server. It worked for a while, but since (I do not know what caused it) the first time it didn't "remember" read, it goes the same for any mail that comes. So if I don't go to the mail server on computer marking all as read there, they will always refresh on the device as unread. Even if I delete them on device, they will come as new messages on the device again. HTC HD2 mail server: is.muni.cz
Any help?
I can't say I have issues with my mail client when first viewing on my phone. That sounds more like POP not IMAP but I digress.
Have you tried deleting and re-adding the account?

Yes, I tried it multiple times, double checking if the settings for IMAP in my school server haven't changed. They did not. And yes, it sure is IMAP, cause I didn't want to use POP for several reasons. I have also a Gmail account (with using IMAP), but this one does not make these problems. However I don't think the problem is on their side... I think they should have IMAP covered. But noone knows. I've already contacted their administrator, waiting for response.
It very well could be an issue with your school's settings. Check with your friends to see if they notice any of those issues.
turn off 'keep on server'
