Can you change the default Google search on the TF3D internet tab? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Anyone know how to change the default Google search on the TF3D internet tab from google.com/m to google.co.uk/m or google.co.uk? Is this a registry editor tweak as I can't find where to change it in the opera:config tweak?
Thanks.

This is not a registry setting, but set in the default htm-file loaded by Opera upon start: \windows\htc-opera.htm
Edit the file to the URL you want to have the search done:
[line 46]:
<form action="http://www.google.com/search?q=" method="get">
to e.g:
<form action="http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=" method="get">
ATT: the file is write protected, so you'll have to remove this before editing.

Umm, its a registry edit for me.
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila
dword=InternetSearchUrl
to get it to what you want, put in the url you want in your PC browser, search for something, & then get copy whatever url it has. For instance, I have mine set the cab i made to go to "http://www.google.com/m/search?q=". that way it just adds whatever you search for on to the end of that string & inputs it to Opera.

Yes perfect!
I've been looking through the registry and the .hmt files for days.
Now finally the O2 start page is gone!
THX!

On the Verizon Touch Pro 2 you will need to use the registry editor of your choice and go to registry key:
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila
dword=InternetSearchUrl
"The registry is in the \\Plugins folder at the top of the root directory" Just hit the \ button at the top right of Total Commander til you see the directory then click on the directory and then the Registry directory in it.
Replace the bing.com in this key:
www.bing.com/search?q=%s
with the search engine of your choice.
For the mobile formatted Google it would look like this:
http://www.google.com/m/search?q%s
For the desktop formatted Google it would be:
http://www.google.com/search?q%s
Mobile Google looks much cleaner and it is the one I suggest. This should work for pretty much any search engine though, for the two people still using Yahoo and Ask.
Do not forget the %s at the end. It is needed on this phone or it will only bring up the search engine without the search.
This will change the search from within the Touchflo search box and the search box in the stock built in Opera Browser. I did not try Internet Explorer or any other browsers but suspect they would require a different registry key to be changed.

Phone skin settings in registry

In my Vario i had the ugly T-Mobile skin in the phone app. I've found the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin, with the keys for defining whole skin.
If Enable is changed to 0, after the reset is skin ignored and phone looks as the keypad for PIN enter. The bad thing is that smartdialing doesn't work.
So i tried another way. My friend has qtek 9100. In the registry he have no keys for defining skin, cust Enable entry with value 1 and dll path.
So i changed my registry in this way, but it didn't work. Skin entries are back an i can no more change Enable value to 1.
Does anyone know how to remove phone skin with smardialing working?
I have been looking at this - I tried renaming the subkeys (DIALER and PROGRESS) and that mostly de-skinned it (had to soft reset after changing them before it took effect). The smart dialing still worked (enable was still set to 1). The smartdialer graphics were not deskinned though.
However, changing it seemed to conincide with problems I had with my GPRS settings going dodgy, and on changing back GPRS seems fine. That could just be a conincidence though.
I have found that all the skin graphics are in graphices files in the windows directory. Some of them are the ones mentioned in the registry here, and some of them are called indialer_*. These indialer_ graphics are the ones that were not deskinned by renaming the DIALER and PROGRESS keys.
There is also carrierlogo.gif that is used in the background.
I recon that renaming the keys, and getting the indialer_ graphics from a non-skinned ROM should do the trick. But I am not sure if my GPRS problems were related or not.
Not had a chance (or another ROM) to play further though.
I've tried to rename DIALER and PROGRESS keys, but noeffect. After reset, the are back the same.
I know that indialer* is skin for smardialer. Smartdialer is sometimes called interdialer..
Finally, I've made it. Skin is nice blue with working smartdialing.. New know-how about registries.
The Skin!!!
Hey can u post a screen shot of the skin you are using and if possible how to change the ugly T-mobile skin!, i just got my Vario a few days ago and havn't found how to change the skin.
Thanks
It looks exatly like PIN enter screen.

[REQ][APP][WM6.5]Titanium/CHome Plugn Re-Namer

I would like to request an app to rename the names of the plugins on the CHome/Titanium Home Screen. My wife's got WM6.5 on her AT&T Tilt but the fact that some of the plugins are lower case and some are upper case is starting to drive her crazy and in return, she's making me crazy because I can't figure out the CPR files.
Here's a screenshot of her Home Screen so you can see exactly what I am talking about:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you cal clealy see, some are capitalized and some are not. I would like to see an app that would allow you to change the names of the plugins, including the ability to just capitalize them if desired.
dito
cause i like the name troybook better , bump
I 2nd this post Dharv!! I thought I was the only who didnt like the upper and lower case of the plugins!!!

Have you try out CHome editor by Showaco?
Or you can use total commander (or any other reg. editor). To change Favorite People, go into HKLM/Software/Microsoft/cHome/ATFavePeople/CondensedPage/PluginLabel
And for Facebook, HKLM/Software/Microsoft/cHome/Facebook/CondensedPage/PluginLabel. And do a soft reset when done.
Hope that helps.

I tried setting the 2 capitalized plugins(Facebook and Favorite People) to lowercase through the registry using Resco Registry and it DID work but she still wants everything to be uppercase. She's kinda anal and since we've been together for so long, she's developed a specific taste for how her phone operates just like I have.
I'd be happy if someone could just help me set them to be all uppercase. It doesn't neccessarily have to be an app. I just thought that an app would benefit everyone and not just me so that's why I asked for an app.
You can change some of them with Showaco's Chome Editor. When you start the program go to Menu/Manual Edit Item Values, then click on the plugin you want to edit, then find the item that says pluginlabel. Some you can't change with this program though.
Instructions for editing the CPR files a few threads down...

i have inesoft and i dont want to remove it want program to change this dialer screen
Purchase AEButton Plus. It allows you to change call button. All you have to do is use the program to make an .exe correspond to that button.
I pay for alot of softwares, but I know that there are freeware applications on XDA too. I think there are developer software for this in which it is totally free. Search for it......
Also, when I use Inesoft, the call button brings me to Inesoft phone menu...so I don't know what you are doing wrong, try changing inesoft settings too.
edit..........................
http://www.iconsoft.com/
but i have inesoft dont want to remove it
is there anythiong else ?
OMG Pay attention will you?
Go buy AEBplus and use that program to change the function of your call key. How hard is that?
If you can't understand this than by god, I hope you understand this...try these steps:
1) Open your windows mobile registry editor (you can use Resco Explorer or SKTools for this but they cost money, please for ask others for free alternatives)
2) Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCR\\callto\DefaultIcon\Default\
Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCR\\callto\Shell\Open\Command\Default\
Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCR\\dtmf\DefaultIcon\Default\
Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCR\\dtmf\Shell\Open\Command\Default\
Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCU\\tel\DefaultIcon\Default\
Browse into this directory within the registry: HKCU\\tel\Shell\Open\Command\Default\
3) Change the cprog.exe into inesoft's exe [obviously I do not know the exact name for inesoft's .exe
4) See if this works
I don't know if this works...it could ***k your registry and freeze your device. So listen to me and go look for a buttom mapper on the forum and fix your problem to map the button to inesoft's exe

Enable WEB-PAGE-PUSH ?! Not working

WEB-PAGE-Push !?
I was try to modify my MDA-Vario-v / HTC Touch Pro 2
the design from t-mobile branding was ugly!
That's why I installed the: TF3DIIBlack.zip File
to get the original HTC look.
Here is the Link: http://www.4shared.com/file/109330961/b9be5561/TF3DIIBlack.html?err=no-sess
Current TouchFLO 3D Version is now: 2.0.37889.1
it's working with some Bugs!?
( world-clock and weather-location now in french language ) can't change!?
Under the Internet Tab the OPERA is working, but
the YouTube Link and my own added sides are doing nothing! Why?
Absolute nothing!? Internet connection already exist, and is ok.
Now I believe there are some missing Registry-Entries?
For example:
Not existing: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Internet.Def aultCount
Can't find: XML file.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>

and some others... looks ok.
.../Manila/InternetPush...enabled/001

scheduleinterval: 60
url: www.one4prxxx.xxx
also looks ok!?
current_user/software/htc/manila
data.autodownloadoff: 0
internetpush.postfirstrun:1
the rest also looks ok!?
So what's wrong with my system? (TouchFLO 3D)
Is there any way to run web-side-push?
Thank you, for help in advance!
Regards, Gerhard
Did you get your problems solved? To get the German language back in the weather tab, you have to copy the German weather manila file into the windows directory.
What's about the missing xml file? I'm searching for a way to customize the internet tab, e. g. add new internet programs like ICQ under the YouTube link. How can I achieve this?
WEB-Push // Internet Tab not working
hello,
thank's for your help! with the manila weather-file
it works fine, and also for the world-clock!?

regarding your ICQ link!
I'll try the same with Skype!?
there are some posts about how to switch off the push, to save memory
and power. I'll try same settings but in opposite way.
WEB-push currently not working!! I'm sure there's a missing registry entry... because t-mobile version is without this internet-tab
some settings are here:
H_C_U/software/htc/manila
and here:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\InternetPush\Enabled are 4 entry (Keys) 000 to 003
regards, g-s
Yes, these settings has my MDA, too. But it don't work with my MDA, too. Perhaps anybody with a HTC Touch Pro 2 could export the registry settings for you?
I never used a push-site. How does it work? I think, the web page will automatical actualized? I don't need this, because it causes much traffic and the battery will go down earlier. I can actualize the web page by myself.
Did it worked with your Skype Link? Can you use Skype with T-Mobile? I think they haven't allowed Skype?
I don't know, if the weather manila file is also for the world clock, but on my device the cities in the world clock are in German.
hi, thank you!
weather & world clock is working fine now! thank's
right, web-push loads web-side in the background, with
opera-browser, inside the "INTERNET-TAB"
t-mobile version is missing this TAB,
see here: http://www.pocketpc.ch/htc-touch-pro-2/59707-web-page-push-geht-nicht.html#post347386
I still have a data-flat, and at home I use my WLAN for my device!
So I don't take care regarding my mobile-traffic... something between
100 and 200 MByte's monthly.
Yes, Skype is working fine! I use it for longer time without problems,
in main-time for TEXT-MESSAGES, and to check online-status.

IE6 - Integrated Google Search (WM 6.5 or higher)

I just read through the Mobile Browser Comparison here on XDA and noticed that one of the points for Opera Mobile over IE was Integrated Google Search.
Perhaps this is not well know, but IE has the option of integrated Google search as well.....
Internet Explorer 6 Mobile - Integrated Google Search
By default Microsoft configured IE6 to use Bing as the default search engine.
*note: Prior to WM 6.5.3, m.live.com was used, but it now re-directs to m.bing.com anyway.
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"AutoSearchProvider"="http://m.bing.com/Search/Results.aspx?mid=8002&lc=en-us&q="
Example:
Type 'xda forum' in the address bar and then enter and you will see that after a short timeout (once IE determines that 'xda forum' is not a valid address) it will show the search results using Bing.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Making the change
This is easily changed to Google by modifying this registry entry....
Mobile Format:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"AutoSearchProvider"="http://www.google.com/m?source=hp&hl=en&q="
Classic Format:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"AutoSearchProvider"="http://www.google.com/search?source=hp&hl=en&q="
To avoid waiting for IE to determine that your search terms are not a valid address, simply choose ' Search for "......." ' from the drop down menu that appears as you type....
I have included CABs which will make the change for you if you feel uncomfortable making the registry changes yourself.
Finally, if you like using the default home page included with Windows Mobile (\windows\iemo6_default_0409.htm - depends on language and often changed by OEMs and cooks), I have included an updated version of iemo6_default_0409.htm that uses Google instead of Bing.
Cheers,
TrueG

Great tip! Slight caution to check the exact original registry entry in your version of IE Mobile. For Search Page I had to put "%s" at the end of the "q="
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb415465.aspx
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

Thanks for this.

Thank you Szczepanik, but the registry entry that you posted is actually for a different value.
Notice that my cab sets the value for "AutoSearchProvider" not "Search Page".
"AutoSearchProvider" was added in WM 6.5 and is part of the browsingie package that was not included in WM 6.1.
For cooks, "AutoSearchProvider" is set set in \SYS\browsingie\***.rgu.
"Search Page" is no longer used in WM 6.5, but is set in \SYS\Browsing_Lang_0409\***.rgu
Default values for WM 6.5.3 (as per 0409 SDK)
Search Page - no longer used
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Search Page"="http://m.live.com/search/Results.aspx?q=%s&mid=8001"
AutoSearchProvider
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"AutoSearchProvider"="http://m.bing.com/Search/Results.aspx?mid=8002&lc=en-us&q="
pretty slick. I like that. Sure would make for google searches rather then waiting for the google page to open up and screwing with the input box.
yes, I like it. I just tap the address bar. Type my search terms, hit up and then enter and it searches immediately.
