Phone skin settings in registry - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

In my Vario i had the ugly T-Mobile skin in the phone app. I've found the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin, with the keys for defining whole skin.
If Enable is changed to 0, after the reset is skin ignored and phone looks as the keypad for PIN enter. The bad thing is that smartdialing doesn't work.
So i tried another way. My friend has qtek 9100. In the registry he have no keys for defining skin, cust Enable entry with value 1 and dll path.
So i changed my registry in this way, but it didn't work. Skin entries are back an i can no more change Enable value to 1.
Does anyone know how to remove phone skin with smardialing working?

I have been looking at this - I tried renaming the subkeys (DIALER and PROGRESS) and that mostly de-skinned it (had to soft reset after changing them before it took effect). The smart dialing still worked (enable was still set to 1). The smartdialer graphics were not deskinned though.
However, changing it seemed to conincide with problems I had with my GPRS settings going dodgy, and on changing back GPRS seems fine. That could just be a conincidence though.
I have found that all the skin graphics are in graphices files in the windows directory. Some of them are the ones mentioned in the registry here, and some of them are called indialer_*. These indialer_ graphics are the ones that were not deskinned by renaming the DIALER and PROGRESS keys.
There is also carrierlogo.gif that is used in the background.
I recon that renaming the keys, and getting the indialer_ graphics from a non-skinned ROM should do the trick. But I am not sure if my GPRS problems were related or not.
Not had a chance (or another ROM) to play further though.

I've tried to rename DIALER and PROGRESS keys, but noeffect. After reset, the are back the same.
I know that indialer* is skin for smardialer. Smartdialer is sometimes called interdialer..

Finally, I've made it. Skin is nice blue with working smartdialing.. New know-how about registries.

The Skin!!!
Hey can u post a screen shot of the skin you are using and if possible how to change the ugly T-mobile skin!, i just got my Vario a few days ago and havn't found how to change the skin.
Thanks

It looks exatly like PIN enter screen.

New iBliss 3G dialpad

Hey guys,
I got the iBliss dialpad skin from crash (in the wisbar forum) and updated it so that it's compatible with 3G phones. Here are some screenshots:

Now, I still can't seem to work out which file overlays the brightness bar (video call => click brightness button). If anyone can help me on that I can then finish off the skin.
Note that the installation cab overwrites your phcanrc.dll in your windows directory. You might like to back that up first.
thanks, i have installed it and its very nice one
looks very nice, thanks
can someone post a picture? I don't want to install it before I know how it looks like
...and does using this require you to have Wisbar installed on your device? oh yeah, pictures would be appreciated. thanks...
Absolutely great work
I have one request, if I may...Could you make the photo larger inside the phonepad, I love the looks, but there's plenty of room to make the photo with "normal" calls twice the size...pretty please...
Very great work, thank's
i have a question.
how i can have "keypad" button (left softkey in picture 3) when i do a call
now i have contacts there
Is this project still alive at all? Im having issues with this not displaying anything correctly on a Touch. Worked on a cooked rom, but i installed in on a new rom that didnt have it and now it looks all jacked up.

This does not display any numbered buttons for me with FInixNOver3.4 Black Edition
So I'm going to have to hard reset my device...

Old Internet Explorer in WM 6.5?

Hi everyone,
Is there anyway to install the OLD version of Internet Explorer (the one that came with WM 6) in the new 6.5? I am actually hoping for a side-by-side install.
Before you all think I am crazy… here is the deal.
I am a software developer and have a number of highly functional web applications (for entering orders, invoices, etc - see screen shots) that integrate with a number of popular ERP systems.
However, some of them are breaking in the new IE6. I cannot afford to not be able to demo these apps.
Best regards,
The Fish

Here is a cab file IE6. Credit goes to vin255764. I found this on one of the threads over at PPCGEEKS.
Does anyone know how i can install this and the newer version that came with 6.5 together? I tried installing this cab and it removed IE6 and replaced it with 5.
The reason i want both is that for most of the sites I look at I absolutely HATE having no "fit to one column" feature so i can only scroll vertically.
Thanks
In case anyone was interested, the above CAB file only sets one registry key to "0" (to switch to IE5 mode) or "1" to switch to the new IE6 (as in WM6.5).
The key is:
HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer
"MSHTML" = 0 or 1
Just kill the Iexplore.exe task and rerun it to run in the new mode!
You could even create two mort scripts that each have its own shortcut, and depending on which shortcut you launch, will have mortscript change this reg key and then launch IE in that mode.
P.S. A BIG thank you goes out to microsoft for adding this backwards-emulation to the new IE6 - great work!

T-Mobile TP2 - MyFave TF3D Hack - Display both Clock (aka Home) & MyFaves in TF3D

In order to show both the Clock aka Home tab & MyFaves tab in TF3D, edit the following registries;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila:Manila://home.page.hidden
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila:Manila://myfaves.page.hidden
Both are DWORD's, 0 to show, 1 to hide.
Screenshots (NOTE: I don't have SIM Card in, I hacked the registry to make it show & most likely why the Contact Icons are messed up);

You must have the MyFaves Service on your account otherwise the updater disables the app's GUI & any part of the app itself from launching which is most likely why you don't see settings & also why you never saw the page.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\My5\SMSC\CmdGet\StateRequest]
"ClientUIOnOff"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\My5\SMSC\CurrentState]
"ClientUIOnOff"=dword:00000000
Means GUI is turned off. Changing to 00000001 should make it display.
Hi,
i am working now around 2 month on that.
Not the whole time ;-). But sometimes i
hacking my registry very deep and i find
some nice things.
MyFave can be found multiple times here
on XDA. So after my investigation in had
have a nive mY5 screen. Deinstalled yet,
but i think i will startup again to share some
things here !?....
Edit 16:06 - 30.09.2009:
Actually i working on it ;-). And you don't need the service from the great T.
I will prepare the app on a way that you don't need this service. On the TP2
teher is a favorite page but this is a nice to have page for TF3D.

hey guys, the no top and no bottom curtains cabs work on my imagio. I also got the background all tabs cab that works in the imagio setup guideat ppc geeks. I don't know how to post these cabs or I would. hope this helps.
can you copy/paste links?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551614
here is the link for the background all tabs cab. be sure to download the manila 2.1 1919 cab. that's the one that I have working on my imagio. will look for link to the over cabs and try to post it also. hope this helps you.
I am dying for the no curtains cab. Badly.
My Imagio Has Manila 2.0.38937.1, I think. I got that version number by going to Settings, the scrolling to the bottom where it says "About".
Is that the place I need to be looking for my Manila version or is it somewhere else? How do I find my Manila version?

at0mangs tab modification works.
Enable all camera modes definitely worked on mine.
Edit: Nix that, it enables the display of the new camera modes but so far they all just cause the camera application to hang and require a soft reset to get the camera working again.
Ok I'm an admitted newb (Imagio is my 1st WinMo phone). I have 2 questions.
1. What are the "curtains" that "no curtains" removes.
2. I've seen several screenshots around here where people have customized the UI. (Different icons, skins, etc...) Do these kinds of tweaks require more resources than the stock UI? 'cause some of them look pretty cool.
Thanks
Curtains are the translucent background behind the carrier name at the top and the tab icons at the bottom in TouchFlo 3D.
As for the resources, for the most part any differences are inial, although I am sure there is a small impact, larger storage and so forth.

[TIP] Move your keyboard to the bottom

Hello
I was making one application that would resemble more Android-like design: keyboard on the bottom, the main soft keys above it.
Well that is not possible to do both system-wide, but one half of that is. To move your keyboard to the total bottom of the screen, just edit registry:
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip:
DefaultMenuBarHeight=dword:0
MenuBarHeight=dword:0
what happens after reboot is this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Advantages? Extra 64px (on WM6.5.3 and similar) of screen, no useless soft keys in these occasions.
Now, how do you hide the keyboard? Just, as on Android, press BACK key (on HD2 tested, TP2 and TD2 should work the same I suppose, but make backup first ).
Regards, OndraSter
Update: it seems that it doesn't work on all ROMs. I was using CRACIN's HD2 ROM, where it worked. I now flashed GTX Energy ROM and it doesn't work. Weird.
There is no DefaultMenuBarHeight in Sip there is only MenuBarHeight.
I'm using htc touch2. How can i do this? Thanks
This is dependant on the ROM and SIP itself. Try changing the MenuBarHeight itself if it isn't enough.
Btw, this won't work with any newer position fix - like ultrashot's uTask, since it tries to fix the keyboard too.
Heyi tried to change the MenuBarHeight and it was okey then but pressing back button make me go to the homescreen so it isn't for me. Thanks anyway dude great job.
Appearantly Touch 2 works different than Leo
You're right !
Having disabled Utask's position fix feature, I was able to move the SIP vertical position to anywhere I wanted !
The DefaultMenuBarHeight value can be manually added (I did), provided it has any actual effect.
Unfortunately, the Back button generally applies to the current app rather than to the keyboard, that sometimes even stays open (it actually depends on the app ! ), so it can't be used straight on.
But there are a lot of alternatives, such as remapping a hardware key with AEButton plus (now freeware), for instance.
This nice trick should probably be best used with a SIP featuring it's own closing button, such as FingerKeyboard (though it already has an option to overlap the softkeybar in landscape mode, and since it's fully customizable, you should be able to setup the vertical offset in portrait too, regardless of the actual registry values).
