How to increase the sensitivity gps in Rhodium - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

I use HTC Rhodium for geocaching. From the beginning bothered me relatively low sensitivity gps (especially in forest, high building). Today i try (in finding a cache) open keyboard. Sensitivity and response gps very improved!
One of the parts probably in some way shadow of the GPS antenna and reduces its sensitivity.

I'll have to try this the next time I am having trouble getting the satellite reception.

It has an attached cab that will patch the GPS settings and may also improve your GPS signal

Tomtom on 614C

Hi,
I just have tried Tomtom 7 on my 614C and notice that the backlight goes off when launching the software.
Any hack to solve this problem ?
Thanks
Looks like there is also such a problem on Igo.
i use Igo8 and dont notice this problem, do the settings in igo8 stay at max brightness?
I use TT6 , it is fine
Now, I have another problem.
I noticed that after sometimes (during navigation), my gps has problems locking on new satellites. It can see the satellites (they appear in grey) but never turn blue (in Tomtom). After a soft reset, I can pick up all satellites. Meaning that the ones in grey turn blue afterwards....

From Titan to Vogue_Help?

My vogue is on the way and I have some questions. I know it has a gps chip built in.
I would like to know the following:
1) What rom / radio combination should I use to get the quickest agps lock?
2) Does the QPST hack for the titan to make gps lock within seconds work for the vogue? (Messing with gps one setting)
3) The vogue has enough memory to run pretty much any sound rom so I am more concerned with the gps lock rather than the performance so much, right?
4) How is vogue interaction with IGO 8?
5) Is there no Wifi radio built in?
6) Is there a hardware button on the outside that can be set to a screen rotate function?
7) What is the best on-screen keyboard?
8) Do those helicopter stick on transparent protectors really prevent scratching and scuffing, and are they too thick to be touch sensitive?
Thanks ahead of time.

GPS signal issue with HTC 7 Trophy

Hi,
HTC 7 Trophy may have some GPS issues (no signal).
This is due to your hand that covers the right side of the phone, where the GPS is placed.
To know exactly where it's placed, remove the back cover and find the "GPS A" text.
You need to not cover this part with fingers (no problem with other things).

Another GPS hardware tweak ;)

Hi,
I strugled a few month to get GPS on my I9000 working for car navigation. I tried different radio versions, GPS settings and hardware tweaks (bending the antenna contact), but GPS was usable for max. 10min and then there was no GPS fix again.
The solution in MY CASE was:
- remove the Galaxy S lether flip case!!! I have an flip case made by Noreve and the entire back side is some metal mesh covered by lether. So when I use an normal silicon case, I have an quick and stable GPS fix even in a car with heatable front panel .
My software configuration is the following:
- Android 2.3.3 (from samfirmware flashed by odin),
- Baseband version I9000XXJVO
- Buildno. XWJVI
GPS settings (defined by GPS testmode *#3214789650#)
- Test Mode: S/W Test
- Operation Mode: MSBASED
- Start Mode: Hot start
- GPS Plus: ON
- GPS Logging: OFF
Kind regards

Jajajaj, this must be one of the most funny posts I've read here. "Hardware fix" you call it.
Next:
Low screen brightness solved: Remove your sunglases
Low speaker volume solved: Do not carry the phone inside a sealed box
Low phone signal solved: Do not carry the phone inside a metal box
Compass orientation solved: Do not hold the phone near a magnet
GPS not getting a fix: Get outside
Pictures taken with the camera all black: Do not put the finger over the lens
Night pictures too dark: Turn on the lights, the SGS has no flash LEDs
-----------------------------------------------
Now, following in this issue, I've noticed that when using a high capacity battery (the ones that are thicker than the official one), the GPS does not work so well. So this is a similar issue with 3rd party hardware interfering with the SGS antennas.

haha this is really fun thx
In praise of all the people that keep it light n fun
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
BUT ... the SGS GPS is not so bad anymore with the later firmware. We are looking too much maybe.
Iphone 4's and my camera with GPS have about the same issues getting a lock.
Software can obviously still improve: reported accurace behaves funny, there is a stick-to-current-position effect, VDOP is often lower than HDOP which is suspicious, etc. But in all it seems not broken anymore.
Though the chipset is Broadcom... and they always seem to have issues with driver quality, whether it is server network cards (the German original they bought over had decent drivers, at least for Linux) or GPS chips...

Gps signal drops if gps running on "background"

Hello, I have problem with my LG G2 (D802) gps. I think I tried everything possible and impossible but still the same problem(20+ gps.config configurations, cpu governors, cyanogen versions, stock versions, doriman kernel ....). When i use some kind of "GPS test" applications then I get GPS fix and it work great(even 1 hour). But when I switch in this application to radar view, where are satellites visible on compass as colored points (each color represent signal strength), then after 1-2 seconds are getting signals weaker and weaker until it lost all satellite signals. I switch to main view with satellites bars and signals after few seconds raise back to normal quality. It is not problem of application, because I try the same on my old HTC EVO 3D and on radar view is signal still the same. Then I switch, for example, to google maps and i have gps fix, but again after few seconds fix is lost.
Next strange behaviour is, that if I set navigation to some place and I lock screen (power off the screen), then it seems, that gps has stable fix and navigation is correctly navigating from beginning to end of route. But after screen unlock gps lost fix after few seconds.
It looks like some gps thread problem, or cpu power saver problem.
Could somebody help? Have somebody the same problem?
