Hello,
Hope someone could help a new guy with a Sprint 6800. A couple weeks ago I noticed the blue led switched on overnight and has stayed on. At the time the phone was running the latest stock sprint rom.
I did the usual troubleshooting - hard reset, clean wipe, pulled battery, ran it w/o battery, and made sure no apps where affecting. I'm think its a hardware problem since when you pull the battery and install it - the led stays on even before WM6 loads. Took it to Sprint and got a bit of a run around - they want to send it in for repair for 2-3 weeks, opposed to replacing it (I have the protection plan). I can't live without it for that long so I'm dealing with it right now.
I did try a few other things - some apps to power leds off - they work great with the green, but not the blue. I also tried reflashing it with other user built roms, upgrading & downgrading he radio, etc with the hopes of triggering it to off or changing its state.
Anyone ever have this happen or know of a simple solution?
Thanks so much, anything is appreciated!
Tom
umm do you have blue tooth turned on?
even with BT on the LED should flash intermittantly, not be on all the time
i agree it sounds like a hardware issue, you shoudl be able to tell sprint you cant be without your phone for that long, they might give you a loaner (i had this done once with VZW)
Comm manager button on the side, under power button. Make sure bluetooth has an x on it.
I just realized that my phone was like... dead. It turns on and I can synch with it in windows, but the screen is completly black and without image. I can receive calls. Before this I was not able to turn it on. Then it turned on and showed something like ChipID error, then it went black until now. When I plug it to the computer it doesn't seem to be charging (no orange light) I have hardspl in it. Also I didn't do anything special with it, I simply foud the phone like that today, it has been weeks since I flashed a rom or something. Any ideas?

Could be a faulty screen. Have you tried a hard reset
Yeah, I also did some hard resets. I think the screen got damaged at some point when I was unable to turn on the phone. Eventually when it worked it showed some weird error after startup in a message box. After this allways black screen (and no backlit and orange light of charge), also reflashed because the thing is working, it vibrates on startup (after 25 seconds) and plays the htc tune, it enters windows mobile too and I can receive calls but it keeps it all black.
I contacted the customer support of the online store, I will simply ask for a repair or replacement.
Thanks.
First of all, hi to all of you.
Me being a noob with the Nexus, something VERY messed up has just happened to me.
Let me explain from the beginning:
I received the nexus yesterday as a gift from a friend of mine who works at Google (yes, it is the one with the android waving a banner on the back of the phone)
Used it yesterday perfectly, even updated to 2.1.update perfectly fine.
Today, as the batter was dying out, I finally got home and started to charge it (the battery icon was white, with a red outline and a red slash across the battery icon)
Then, the Nexus stopped responding and turned off.
When I tried to turn it back on, it just stays on the boot screen and does nothing.
Now, I have tried the volume down + power button to get to the reset, chose "recovery" and it went right back to the frozen boot screen.
To my knowledge, it is not rooted (although I have read that the Nexus' that employees receive are rooted, I have no idea)
Now, I am stuck with a Nexus paperweight , it doesn't turn on and cant seem to get it out of the boot screen.
Any one here can lend a hand???
P.S. I hope I posted in the correct forum and want to thank anyone that can help ahead of time!
Update:
I did the volume down + trackball + power on thingy and I connected the Nexus to my laptop.
It comes out FASTBOOT USB in red, so it seems it is not totally bricked.
Found the USB drivers and...that's where I am stuck.
I know there is a way to recuperate the Nexus, but I have no idea how...any ideas?
Ive got cyanogen 7.1.0 on my emmc. it was getting a little buggy so i decided to format data, cache, system and boot in mounts and storage. i did that then i rebooted it. the cynogen7 logo came up and with the little neon blue writing under it that says "loading...". so then when it came time for the animated cyanogen logo thing to show up, it doesn't. the screen just stays blank but its still on cause the screen back light was on. so i held down the power button till it turned off and turned it on again. the same thing happened only this time i let it stay on. about 10 mins later i go to check it and its powered off. i try turning it on but it doesn't power up. please help me out.
EDIT: Found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699 and it fixed my nook.
This is the same thing that is happening for me. I have actually purchased a new Tablet, and want to just put the normal Nook OS back on the device so I can give it to my parents as an eReader for X-Mas.
Please help!!
Bump....Can anyone help me out with this?
Read the 1st post again bud.....he said he fixed his and gave a link.
I've had this Motorola Droid RAZR for like two years now and a friend of mine took it and worked on it, adding something called "Cyanogen Mod" and he 'rooted' it I believe? Ever since, phone has worked great. However, today I tapped the home button and the whole screen had a weird visual glitch where the wallpaper was entirely intact but the icons and such were only half appearing, like someone scratched them out with fingernails or something. It would go away and come back so I got frustrated and rebooted my phone. It starts up normally and goes to this screen where you can do different stuff with Cyanogen mod (like changing the rom? or changing boot options) and usually I just continue past that because for 1) I know nothing about it and 2) It always was fine. But when it did the typical boot up, it just skipped back to the first screen you get when you turn the phone on and repeats. It never goes to the second part of the Cyanogen Mod where the words appear and the little thing spins, it simply skips back to the screen you get when you power up and repeats. It keeps doing this and I looked online how to fix it, tried about twelve different things (like restoring different aspects and using different roms or making new roms) and it just didn't work. Eventually it got bugged out where the screen was just black, couldn't get it to do anything but reboot and go back to black. I let it sit until the battery ran dry I believe and now I'm at a brick wall.
Is there a way I can totally just revamp and start fresh? Like remove all of it and reinstall Cyanogen mod/the OS and all that jazz? I don't mind losing everything if I can just keep the phone, I don't pay for a cellphone and I don't want one I just use the droid for texting apps/games/reddit/etc. If anyone could help me save this thing I'd appreciate it.
Hi there,
Please stand by until mods will move this thread to the related forum for Droid RAZR.

How would I know if I had it installed? I remember when I booted up the phone something came on with a picture of a little robot that said "Safestrap Enabled" and then when I had this problem it was saying "Safestrap Disabled". I can't get the phone to turn on right now though, is there a way I can check what version I have another way?
Ah. I see. First. try entering Safestrap menu upon rebooting, instead of allowing it to boot normally, and look at ROM slot and see if custom OS' ROM slot is active. If it's there and is not active try reactivate it. If it won't budge, get microSD card and find XT910 (RAZR - spyder) CM 11. If you don't know what to pick, I will look in a bit.

Just tried booting it up, nothing is working I think the phone is dead. I plug it into the charger and only the notification light on the top left goes on a blueish white and stays on as long as it is plugged into the charger. Nothing will turn on at all and the phone doesn't seem to respond to anything. Is my phone just dead..?
Soft bricked. Try pushing both volume down and up button while plugged into either computer or charger, and hold down power button until it boots. I hope you won't need to buy Motorola factory cable at this point.
Let your device charge for a few hours until it boots up. Then boot it into APfastboot and flash the stock firmware with RSDLite.

In English please?
Edit: Just plugged it in like you said and instantly the boot screen came on rather than simply that silly light so I think my phone is improving but I still would like to entirely revamp it or redo it or whatever you wanna call it so that everything is fresh and new and my phone is okay.
Good. I think it could be because the battery died somehow. Good thing the protection mechanism on the bootloader didn't have the wild idea of disabling the phone.
