I suggest you move this thread to the GENERAL section...this isn't the place for Q & A regarding personal issues.
And for the record, you NEVER flash radios that aren't of your service providers network (country, nation, etc.) If you have a Magic or a Sapphire, that Hero radio Paul @ Modaco provided isn't meant for those devices.

sorry... but undestand.... I'm tried, and I'm not capable to recovery my htc....

I cannot offer sympathy.
I have never experienced any issue regarding flashing something incorrectly.
Reading tutorials, doing a fair share of research, and taking your time to pay close attention to detail...is essential before attempting any modifications on your device.
If you flashed the incorrect radio, cannot boot your device into recovery, cannot run fastboot, or ADB...then with lack of better terms, you're pretty much f-bombed.
It's not my area of expertise, but that's my opinion in this case.

If you phone cannot get into recovery mode, you are pretty muched f'ed like Reignzone said. Next time you attempt to flash something on your phone do your research. Also flashing radioes, which are not for your specific device is a very bad idea, unless it is tested to work without problems.
Though usually flashing the radio does not brick the device, only if you flash a bad SPL.
But yeah, if you are saying you cannot get into recovery mode or fastboot, your phone is bricked and you need to hand it in for repairs if that is possible.

Bricked/Blind/Barely alive magic, no recovery screen (SPL ****up) any suggestions?

Hi
similar to an other thread here if tried to change my SPL
and never recovered.
I can still get the blue led going using TrackBall + EndCall buttons.
The orange led lights up when I connect the usb cable.
But I cannot see it from the pc in any way (adb/fastboot).
there is some life in it but not a lot, have not seen the screen light
up at all.
Would it be possible to get a new bootloader/spl on it? Perhaps using
some kind of automatic update mechanism that is build in using an
update.zip file on the sd card?
Any help is more than welcome.

Try downloading the ruu from your phone's official reseller.
T-Mobile USA standard OS.
Assuming that you backed up using Nandroid or something to SAVE and STORE your originally packaged Android 1.5 (Cupcake) version from T-Mobile...you NEED to restore that properly using a recovery image. Amon_RA has a great one, so does Cyanogen, obviously by now I'm sure you're aware. But keep in mind, to get back to that state...you must be careful not to alter any necessary files on that standard OS.
Do some Google searching and try to track down a Cupcake 1.5 download from one of those sites that leaked it or something. That's your best bet. Right now you don't need to be worried about continuing on from where you are. You need to backtrack and begin anew.
Sorry to hear that. I was thinking of installing Haykuro Apps to SD ROM and it needs to change the SPL. But I think not worth taking a risk.
Can you tell a little bit more which ROM were you planning to install?
Which SPL did you update to?
Which ROM did you have at the time of SPL update?
Which thread or instructions did you follow if any?
Hi
@mrjunix
I have a google ion, and therefore cannot return it unfortunately to the
carrier, as there was none. I went to the Google IO conference but
I am back in Europe and there is not support here.
btw what do you mean by RRU??
@Reignzone
I do have a nandroid backup but I cannot get back into recovery mode,
or fastboot mode or anything... the pc does not recognize it either.
@technicolor
I installed the Cyanogen recovery image and was able to install
one of his rom's. It worked fine but then I wanted to install
a Hero rom and I wanted to update the SPL.
Used the cyanogen recovery to update the spl using an update.zip
file. the phone restarted the "android" update screen came on
briefly and it never came back on...
changing the recovery rom should not be an issue,
and normally I think you do not need to flash your spl at all any more.
you can do a lot with the fastboot mode and one of the recovery roms

This is the same advise you gave me yesterday on my bricked MT3G, but if you can't enter recovery mode, a nandroid backup ain't gonna help much, is it?
Also, any cupcake downloads are not going to help either, if you can't fastboot or enter recovery.
I appreciate you trying to help, but if you pay attention to the OP (and my own post), you'll see that your advise isn't going to solve anything.
For starters:
My advice to have those of you who are in need to take an approach that allows you to backtrack you work. Perhaps you left out various details of your issue or process taken in order to end up where you're at.
Your bitterness isn't appreciated for my having misread the problem.
YOU are the one with the F***** device, not me.
Anyway, all that aside; you might try to read-up on various threads that could be of some help. Google search, HTC support, ADB, etc.
There's always something to be done.
Good luck.

forum puffering aside, RUU is ROM Upgrade Utility
Prepackaged programs that bypass the phone's software altogether to reflash the rom
My carrier is Rogers of Canada and I have their "HTC Magic" phone
Be warned that Rogers is intentionally altering their hboot to disable system changes, you may not be able to cook your os after using this rom update.
Their updates page
https://your.rogers.com/web_auth/techsupport.asp
has the update

The radio images at modaco are for the HTC Hero. I was wondering whether or not this radio update would work on my Magic... Try looking in the development section for the newest original magic firmware RUU (it's the official HTC method of updating). This update contains a correct magic radio image (amongst other things). The RUU package should include a readme on how to apply the update. The screen you are seeing on your phone is the original recovery screen so at least we know that your device is not bricked!
Hi,
I'm on the same situation .... my HTC magic not boot. But on my case is impossible run the update menu.
how can I install the original Radio for saphire?
thanks for your suggestions,
This is interesting.
I was considering flashing that EUROPEAN radio to my spare phone (HTC Dream) to basically take the 50/50 chance to see whether or not it would actually register and comply with the device.
So, it's confirmed that this method DOES NOT WORK...correct?
Which radio did you flash again? I'll double-check the link. And which update did you attempt to apply? The 2.1 Hero version of the build...? As in the "enhanced" port. That won't be available for the Sapphire (32B) for a few days. Paul @ Modaco-ANDROID said he is working the kinks out, then fashioning an enhanced version for the Sapphire and apparently the Dream as well.

Not to say you shouldn't be on the optimistic side of this...but from what you've stated; sounds like you have just created a $300 paper weight! I'm sorry.
If you cannot boot into recovery, cannot run fastboot, and from what I understand you cannot power on your device into a normal loading...that's a serious set of problems. Potentially permanent ones.
NOW, all things considered...have you tried ADB? Can your computer detect the device to run ADB? If so, you might have some luck in that department to uninstall whatever you've done or possibly re-flash the appropriate radio and SPL.
Search tutorials. I cannot offer further assistance for your particular situation. It's in your hands now.
I'm in the same boat.
I'd be interested to find out what this screen actually is. I thought it might be a recovery image but adb devices does not return any information.
None of the usual key combinations to get to hboot or fastboot or recovery will work.
I have the latest rogers update ruu and will try to run that and see if it works.
Wasn't able to use the rogers updater as it wouldn't see the phone.
Spoke to HTC support who seemed not to know what the box with the arrow pointing to a phone screen meant.
They are collecting tomorrow and will re flash it for me.
Whether someone will be able to tell that I was flashing a new, apparently incorrect, radio we'll just have to wait and see.
radio
i have the same thing i tried to install a different radio on the cyn 10.1.1 rom and i had teh same recovery logo. i tried everything. i thing our phone is bricked. i called rogers and they will send me a new phone as i told them i used the rogers update tool. next month ill see if they will charge me for the damage or not.
My phone is back with HTC for repair. Initially they said they would re flash it, but now I understand that they are replacing the main board. It looks like the problem is pretty terminal!
I have same problem, is there any solution for this?
same situation here,any help?
For now there is no solution, maybe serial cable in blue led mode or jtag can help,
read about it in G1 section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591048
This problem is caused by failed radio rom update, I think JTAG will help, but problem is we dont have pinouts for magic. So if anyone have magic with water damage can help us finding pinouts for jtag.

Does anyone know how to unbrick the CDMA Hero?

My phone shut off and has not been able to turn since. I tried flashing a ROM and didnt relive after that. Please help.
What do you mean it doesn't turn on? What happens when you hold the power button?
it doesn't boot ...it is as if it were dead
Check to make sure it is charged and the battery is installed properly. I have had the battery so dead that it didnt even vibrate to indicate booting.
Yeah. Let it sit on the charger for a few minutes, make sure battery is in right and everything is plugged.
Check for amber LED, let it charge a few minutes, then try again and do it like that every couple minutes. If nothing still, buy a new battery or exchange it.
nothing so far ...ive scheduled an appointment to repair ...i know they wont be able to do anything for this phone. I wanted to see if I can avoid not having to give up my HTC hero and deal with a replacement phone for a while.
ummmm, how did this happen?
you may not want to say for fear of bashing but I promise I won't, as far as I've seen it takes a very unique set of circumstances to actually brick these things
EDIT: my prediction: you tried to flash a GSM rom onto it
so when attempting to get the download file for the Eclair 2.1v1.5 rom it stated that the radio posted is recommended. Prior to flashing the radio i did a nandroid backup and then I flashed the radio. During the flash screen (open box to phone image) it blacked out after about 20 seconds.

And i suppose you didn't flash a recovery img after rooting? Well next time you will learn to read.
Have you tried booting into recovery and doing a nandroid restore?
i've never heard of a bricked CDMA hero... but i guess flashing a GSM radio would do the trick
ok i searched and this may be the FIRST EVER bricked CDMA htc hero!
correct me if i'm wrong but i couldn't find anything on google about this.
maybe we should sticky this, or delete that link to the gsm rom so this doesn't happen again?
yeah i guess i did flash a gsm rom which definitely pwnd my phone ...i did everything possible. hard reset buttons. basically couldnt do anything with adb as the phone was completely shut off so no way to connect. Well all in all i learned my lesson. The techs at the sprint store couldnt do anything to fix the original phone so they said what the heck and provided me with a brand new google branded hero.
We all have done it!

How does a radio flash stop a phone from turning on?
Isn't the whole point of a recovery mode, to be able to "recover" if something goes wrong.
Shame on you whitewidows, for bashing him... The whole reason people get things working is because of trail and error.
If anything he helped us all by confirming that a wrong radio flash will completely ruin your recovery console, possibly bootloader, and (maybe even some actual hardware).
Hopefully this doesn't discourage users from trying to hack our radio.

[Q] ROM with German language?

Hello!
I got an HTC HD2 from T-Mobile USA. Now I have got the problem, that I need German language for the phone.
Do some rom files exists which contains German and maybe no provider branding??
And where I can download it??
I used the search button but can't find a clear answer. Only some problems with German keyboard layout.
THX!!

Chris
No one can help me???
Regards!
You're in luck. NRG Energy Roms are now made in German. Linked below. You'll need to flash your phone and install the proper radio. It's very easy if you read up before flashing. In my sig you'll find a link with info on how to flash your phone. Follow it to a "T" and you'll be fine. Hit us up if you need any more help.
Good Luck.

I for one have never heard of Jtag. You don't have to unbrick the phone because if you phone was bricked it wouldn't be working ever again. You have to flash hardspl on the phone to allow you to change its rom. And because you already said that you have a T-Mobile USA phone it should already have the proper radio. Take a look below for instructions on how to flash your phone.

actually jtag is the one possibility for fixing the 51 radio meets tmous brick, but they're fairly expensive, and not many people have access to them. It allows you to write directly to the rom chips so no bootloader necessary.
@Chris021286, you have a brick? and you are going to jtag it? What type of jtag do you have?
We'd all be very interested in your results, please, if you would keep us posted on how you get on.

Yes, the phone is bricked. It was flashed with a Europe LEO flash (512MB). Phone won't start in bootloadermode anymore.
I'll try to reflash the BL via JTAG tomorrow. I'm sure it won't be a problem.
GSM repairing and flashing is my hobby since 8 Years so I have some experience
If you want to know more about JTAG and how to you can send me your ICQ Nr. as PN.

hehe, interesting. I've never had chance to play with one, but read a bit of theory.
Let us know how you get on, a lot of people have bricked them with the wrong radio, it would be good to know it can be done.
Most people just take them back to tmo and play dumb.
Finally I take the time to unbrick the HD2. I sucessfully flashed the bootloader.
Now the phone starts in Bootloader Mode again
But I don't know how to fix the rest.
If I start the phone normal it hangs at HTC Logo (There stands only HTC and nothing more) and the phone isn't recordnized via USB.
If I start it in BL Mode phone is recordnized from Win.
But active sync won't find it...so I can't do step 2
So I continued with step 3^^
Flashing worked ok. I flashed the files from: Energy.Leo.23127.Sense2.5.GER.Aug.28
And have done also an hardreset. But still the same. HTC Logo and Bootloader mode.
I guess I need to install any HSPL or Radio rom, right? But how???
So please tell me how to finish my work
THX!
Regards
Chris
PS: When I fixed the phone I'll introduce you how to unbrik any HTC device via JTAG. And will show you the 3 jtag boxes which are on marked.
It is nothing special, everyone can find it via google, but it seems that it isn't know in this great forum yet
EDIT
Phone starts now
HSPL flashing was starting after I reconnected the phone when the flasher was searching for phone (search takes about 15sek^^).
After that I repeated flashing ROM and it was still the same. But after flashing 2.07.50 Radio, as NRGZ28 wrote, phone boots as it shoud!

Help: Stuck at the G1 logo screen after flashing SPL

Ive rooted before but im trying to root a friends device...It's been a while since ive rooted mine so I was freshening up how to do it again. I followed the steps all the way to flashing the SPL...My friend was on android 1.6 with build number DMD64. I reverted to RC29 to root and when flashing the SPL...i flashed dangerspl in recovery. I rebooted and now it does not go past the G1 logo...i tried fastboot and boot into recovery but unsuccessful. Is this a brick? I'm really hoping not...any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Did you make certain the radio was up to date? Old radio with danger spl = brick. Sorry. If that's the case, your only option will be JTAG, which is a rather complex procedure.
I could have been certain that the radio was 2.x but not 100%. My friend's phone was at 1.6 before the reverting to rc29. Does reverting rc29 also revert the radio to 1.x?

No it shouldnt, can you get into recovery mode? if you can then just flash the rom again and it should work just fine.
As far as I know, DREAIMG.nbh contains ROM, radio, recovery, SPL and splash screens. So yes, I'm 99% percent sure it downgraded your radio.
If that's a case, then you have nice brick.
Why do you ppl still bother with Haykuro? SafeSPL + MTD Partition Hack is the way to go!

If the dreaimg.nbh file does downgrade the radio then i'm probably sol. It was my fault as I should've gone with the original hardspl before flashing the dangerspl right away. But I didnt think rc29 would downgrade the radio, thought it'd be safe.
Anyone know or know anyone that can do the jtag hack and try to recover the bricked G1? I looked up jtag and it sounds quite complicated to do myself. If anyone can do it, ill even pay a small fee for someone to do it. Thanks.
I have a question about this too. I too find myself in the same situation but i did not try to flash the dangerSPL. I was rooting and after i flashed hard spl and rebooted i got stuck on the G1 screen...I cant load into recovery or normal or even fast boot. Did i really just brick my phone? any help would be cool
Bottom Line....
Out of all the post, no one seems to give a straight answer. HTC G1 frozen on the bootup screen (T..Mobile G1 screen). Can the phone be fixed or NOT? If it can, how is this done? (factory G1)
If you can boot into Recovery (Home + Power) or Fastboot (Camera + Power) you can recover your phone. Otherwise you need to use JTAG, which with the right knowledge can recover just about anything. I'd search craigslist or similar sites for people that offer JTAG services. Every now and then an XDA member might offer it, but that would be in special circumstances, considering that there are a lot of people who might need it done.
