Does anyone know where HTC Audio Manager v2 stores the playlists? Or ideally a link to a current user guide for the Audio Manager application?
The previous versions used to store playlists in the directory /application data/HTC/AudioManager_Eng/playlists. It was possible to copy the file to PC and manually edit (albeit tricky).
The latest version no longer seems to store playlists anywhere obvious - so must be embedded in a database somewhere. I want to be able to copy the playlists to the PC (and ideally amend / import into Windows Media Player).
Can anyone help?
Cheers

I have WM6 from Andot and want to use the first and second Media Player Key.
In ALEUTs Rom they are working, but there are some other programs in Andots Rom wich are better for my issues
In the forum i found something about the windows directory and the windows/key directory where i have to put files called Short_AP1.lnk or AP1S.lnk or pie.lnk
I created that files filled with a link to the media player and copied them to my Amadeus, but nothing works.
Do I have to edit the registry or do i need a driver or something to get the keys working?
I have the T-mobile SDA Music
I want to prepare a few playlist, and i want to add them to my music tab player of the htc sense. so where should i put the playsit files>????
hey,
i think i have some informations for you (wrote this to a similar post):
... the playlists (created in manila music tab directly) are stored in this file:
"Device\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\AudioManager_Eng.vol"
You can rename the file (as backup) and SoftReset your HD2. The playlist is deleted too.
!!! Be careful if you delete this file ... your music information and created playlists will be ... gone with the wind !!!
Own playlists can be stored in:
" \Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\playlists"
...[*.pls-files / *.wpl or *.asx / i don´t know if *.m3u is possible too]...
They will be "activated" after SoftReset the device.
I hope this will help you.
greetings,
KenShiro
Thanks for the info, unfortunatelly, when i open the playlists they all are shown as empty and they actually are not. I tried with m3u and asx.

Same here.
If i create a playlist in manilla its shows and plays OK.
If i transfer a playlist from the pc the show in the list but EMPTY.
What playslist files the manilla reads ????
Anyone on this ???
And if i backup the AudioManager_Eng.vol i have my playlist in tack after flash ????
when you create a playlist on your pc it also contains information as to where the music should be played from.. etc. "D:\User\Music\my song.mp3".. and since there are no such folder in your phone, the playlist will not find the song (just as it will not if you move the song after you created the playlist on your computer to another folder, etc. "D:\User\Music\Album\my song.mp3"..)
dont know how to solve it though.
Hi all,
I know many of u guys out there must have atleast faced a problem of syncing with Mediamonkey and our beloved HD2.
I for one was extremely fed up and asked the MM support staff about this.
I did see the one post where a guy had asked about this...
However here is the solution :
===========================================================
Problem : MM not syncing to desired path in HD2 storage card, with the songs being placed in the root directory.
===========================================================
Solution : (as posted by MM)
Some Zen devices, Sony Walkman NWZ-A828 and several Mobile phones ( Nokia 5800, HTC Desire) exhibit a bug
with MediaMonkey causing synchronization to copy tracks to the device's
root directory, ignoring the destination mask. In the sync may be
incomplete. A generalized fix is not yet available, however, a workaround
that is specific to these devices is to modify the MediaMonkey.ini file by
adding the following:
[WMDM]
COMApartmentThreading=1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The MediaMonkey database stores all information in the MediaMonkey library, including
Track Metadata, Synchronization rules, and Filter configuration. Most configuration data
is stored in an .ini file that saves configuration information on a per-user basis (the
exception being some configuration related to Views which is stored in the registry).
These files are stored in different locations depending on the version of MediaMonkey
and the operating system.
To modify any of these files, first make sure that MediaMonkey has been closed. You can
then use the following tools to edit the files:
o .ini files can be edited with a text editor such as Notepad
o .mdb files can be edited (at your own risk) with Access (MediaMonkey 2.x)
o .db files can be edited with various tools that support SQLite
Here are the default locations of these files:
MediaMonkey 3.0:
o Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
o Windows 7 / Vista:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
MediaMonkey 2.5:
o Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\My Documents\My Music\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.mdb
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\My Documents\My Music\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
o Windows Vista, MediaMonkey 2.5 is not Fully compatible with Vista
See: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=56
NOTE: If you cannot see these files, it likely means that you need to enable viewing of hidden files/folders.
In Windows explorer, go to Tools > Folder options. Select the View tab and check "Show hidden files and folders".
The folders and files listed should now be accessible.

I've never had a problem with my hd2 and MM. I just click disk drive on my hd2 when connecting it. Make a folder called My Music in the sdcard. and right click on my hd2 playlist, click send to and navigate to the My Music folder.
Edit: My bad it wasn't synced. Or at least I never tried to.

Ahh true.. the playlist function works in that regard...
But what i pointed out was that when u setup custom directory listing in MM to sync
For eg
/Music/Artist/Album/Song title
*I do this coz i use S2P*
MM was not following any rules in regard to this area.
Thank you!
I have a HTC Incredible and when I switched to Windows 7 I started having this problem. After editing the .ini file I no longer have any issues...
Potential buyer but there is a problem.
Ie there a way to stream a url radio stream to android?
Here are the urls, could someone try & let me know if it works?
URL 1: http://tvradio.ert.gr/radio/liveradio/deytero.asp
URL 2: http://wwk.kathimerini.gr/radio/listen.asx
People say that you can, but I tried it at the store & it wouldn't work. Maybe I'm missing something...
This is the only issue preventing me from moving to the android world...
Thank you,
The Analyst

You can copy each one section between the lines "--------------"to a txt file and rename it with .m3u extension. Then you can try to open it with the browser. If you have streamfurious it should open the streams and you will listen to Greek music.....And then i'll buy the phone!!!!
Thank you for the help
I tried those first two URLs and couldn't play it. Looks like one of the pages requires silverlight and the other just downloaded the asx file instead of playing it. I didn't try using any downloaded player just clicked the link from the browser so there might be a media player that plays them.
thank you for the try
Could you try one more thing?
Or someone else that already has "streamfurious" (its a free app)
1. download the attached "txt" file (had to rename to attach it)
2. delete the .txt extension out of the file name
3. the files are .m3u playlists
4. Copy the attached m3u file to your SD card
5. Open the file with browser.
It should play in streamfurious =>> I will be getting an android phone!!!!
Thank you again
Hi there,
If you are familiar with winmo 6.5 then no doubt that you would have had resco explorer installed and perhaps utilised the network section. What some of may or may not know is that once you created your network links so to speak to your LAN, you could then export that as a proper folder in the normal directory. This was really handy for streaming media files via any media player as you could just go straight to the folder, as it would be in the windows dir.
I wondered if there was some sort of counterpart for android. So far I have used ES file explorer which is great but when trying to play any media type it adopts for its own or tries to download it, which is not what I want. AndroXplorer can creat shortcuts to network folders but the shortcuts cant be moved to the android root dir.
Hope you can understand this, any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome! Thanks again.
