When using the Windows Mobile sms/texting screen, I'm notified about how many characters I have used in the message I compose. Is there such an option available in the sms/texting screen provided bij Touch Flo3D?

INPUT KEYBOARD pop , how to stop automatic popping up
I have some software that requires and User and password input, and the WM5 INPUT keyboard pop up tool automatically pops up when I go to this screen.
How can I turn this Wm5 input tool off, or to manual, or just not to pop up, whenever a text entry is required in a software form.
Any ideas ?

look for "Make the SIP stop coming up" under Pocket PC Specific
Check this freeware solution out:
PHM Power Toys.
Scroll down to the bottom for the external keyboard.
Select this from the SIP panel and the popup is gone.
There are a few other good utilities in this package, but that one solves a big problem.
All the above solutions dont work for Wm5, any more ideas ?
I found this solution for WM5 and nullkeyboard
http://personales.ya.com/beemer/prod03.htm
nullkb.ARM4.cab (84kB) Windows Mobile 2003 y Windows Mobile 5, QVGA y VGA.
I'm using this Nullkeyboard since 4 months, works fine.
I've been using the method described in the MSblog linked to by mrandery. Just click in a text input box, ignore the on screen keyboard (i.e. don't close it) and type with the universal's built in keyboard. The onscreen keyboard will go away and won't come back unless you click on it again, unless you use some badly written software that explictily calls for it to appear.
I have just upgraded to the new official WM 6.1 ROM, and have noticed that before, when I would type a new text message and begin typing in the name of one of my contacts in the "To:" box, their name and number would come up so i could just choose it without having to type out their full name. Now I can not do that anymore, I am not sure if it is after installing the touch (original not diamond) keyboard because i never tried text messaging before installing it. Is there a way to get this feature back, because it is much easier than having to click menu add recipient.
Also, for the touch keyboard, is there a way to choose the full qwerty keyboard always, because whenever i try to make a new text message, I can only get the phone pad like keyboard (three letters per block) or the qwerty with two letters per block, is there a way to always get the full qwerty?

It has been my experience that this is due to the Touch Keyboard. I had that same problem, along with characters not typing correctly when I used the hardware keyboard, that made me un-install it from my Sprint Mogul.
Also, it is a known problem with the Touch Keyboard that it will not let you select the full QWERTY keyboard. I know there is a fix for it by using an altered Touch Keyboard, but when I tried the altered one it also had the same problems as the original, so I un-installed that one as well. My advice to you would be to un-install the Touch Keyboard and use something else like PCM Keyboard, that is the one I use most.
Another thing, it might take quite a long time for the Touch Keyboard to un-install. I know I had to leave my phone sit for about 10-15 minutes with the wait cursor spinning around in the Remove Programs setting before it finally was deleted.
I hope this helps!
its not a keyboard problem thats how 6.1 is my phone does the same thing regardless of what keyboard im using
it seems to be a problem with the touch keypad, as after uninstalling it, I am able to select my contacts for a text message as soon as I begin typing their name. Thanks for the help.
Hello folks,
New to the Universal and was just wondering if there are any applications out there that would facilitate one-handed texting via the touch screen. I'm looking for something that creates a virtual Keypad/Numpad of a standard mobile phone on the touch screen to enter text for an SMS - complete with T9 - does such a thing exist or am I dreaming?
The keypad with T9 comes standard with WM5 official ROM, so if you haven't flashed your device and installed any of the independenty developed ROMs, you just have to enable it instead of your on screen keyboard.
Hello!
I have started developing some small apps with Visual Studio 2008 and the Windows Mobile 6.0 SDK using C# for my HTC Touch HD.
Now, I have a problem. I have a numericUpDown-Panel in my app and for this I want to use the numeric inputpanel of the htc phone-keyboard. But when I enabling the input panel, I only get the normal htc phone-keyboard. I know how to switch between the input panels (QWERTY, phone, ...), using the InputPanel-Class, but I donĀ“t know, how to switch between the different panels of the htc phone-keyboard (normal, signs, numeric).
For example, when I create a new contact in the phonebook and I select a field for a phone-number the keyboard switch to the numeric keyboard.
And this is exactly that, I want to use in my app.
Has anybody an idea?
Cheers Michel
Sorry to bump a very old message, but I'm wondering the exact same thing for my HD2...
I've seen other programs do it, but how?!
Do you know how to set the input mode to numeric on the text field using windows mobile 6.5? (HTC HD2)
I want the SIP keyboard to display only numeric keys.
I tried many examples with no luck.
Thanks
you could always click ion the little up arrow next to the keyboard icon at the bottom center and select the numerical keypad.
I want to do it programmatically using visual studio vb.net, I'm developing and application.
