Long lasting battery ? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

My battery on the x7501 is dying, is there a good and fast company that you can recommend for a longer lasting battery ?
Thanks

We've been discussing this lately in the Athena Accessories sub-forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=354

Go get yrself an external battery pack of 38000 mah and above , buy 2 if u really use it a lot , just leave the original battery inside or if it is really dead , get one oem replacement - cheap ones and use it with ext. batt pack , original htc ones dont really last that long either , so try save some $ , we hv to resort to all these bcos the original manufacturer unable to find more space for a longer and better battery - that's why , so we hv not much choice - jimmunsw take care n cheers

I bought a 2400 mah battery online from Mugen power (google search) and the battery is a direct swap (same exact size as factory) and it does last longer. I know it's just 200 mah more but it last longer than factory, from the time I take it off charger in morning till recharge time is about 12-16 hours, here is a typical day usage
- 70-100 min talk time (all though bluetooth)
- (gsm internet) email checks on four accounts
- (gsm internet) weather checks all day
- pda usage throught out day for calendar reminders, task entry & reminders and contact lookup (device on an off as needed - not on all the time)
- wifi usage to transfer files in my office network (network plugin)
- and sometimes about 30 min on wifi internet at night.
This is more than I used to get, the battery is about $75 US and comes with a desk charger, so you can keep another battery always charged.

anx7501 - just curious what ROM your using. Reason I ask is i think the ROM has a lot to do with how long a batt. can last. I have a new batt also but never get close to what your getting. Also how long have you had the new replacement batt? I may just buy that type of batt that you ave if your ROM is the same as the one I have.
thanks

My ROM ver 2.19.453.4, factory X7501 ROM (no flashing)
I've had the battery for 2-3 months now, honestly this is second one. I was a little too hard (physically) on this first and it started loosing charge rapidly. Nonetheless, they were very honorable about replacement - I mailed them mine, they mailed replacement (within one year warranty period). The one I recieved in exchange is now about 2-3 months old.
Mind you I now BABY this battery, I keep an eye on charge, when it's about 20% at night I put in standby, place face up until battery side is cool. I charge with device proped up to let air under. All this sounds weird but I find that it re-charges and holds a charge better when the battery is not hot.
I do get an honest days use out of it now.

Hi there again ,
it is nice to be in america and gets to buy a mugen battery for usd75 , pretty good n reliable n lasting quality battery , but for others if get from mugen , plus the express us mail or courier services , the total end cost will be around usd 130 - 140 ( let's say from usa to malaysia for example ) , i mean it really cost us a lot , our local seller will sell us an oem china made battery for usd17 each for 2200 mah with one to one exchange warranty for 12 months , basically it will last at least 75% of one mugen battery when new and after that it will drain it's efficiency and retain charge ,this depends on how one use the battery , one must pull the plug or switch off the current of charger once it is fully charge - from orange light indicator turning to green colour , if this is not practised , then battery will start dying soon . but yr idea of cooling off the battery standing up and also charging that way is quite a good idea , maybe i give it a try to see any improvement . thks for reading and all the best - jimmunsw

My current battery is over a year and a half old now, and I have always kept it plugged in whenever possible. My first battery lasted for 3+ years using this method! The rom does have a big impact on the daily battery life in these units! I used my phone alot and have usually gone about 2 days on a single charge when I have not had my charger with me. I use it with the bluetooth on all the time, and I check and answer my emails 4 or 5 times a day! The only times that the battery wears out quickly is when I use the wifi or when I play games on it.
Later...........

Battery Life
I'm currently only getting 1-2hras of battery life.
I used to be able to watch a 2 hr video with no problem. If i left it unpluged over night it was OK. Now I charge it overnight and it won't het me to wor (1Hr) playing music and reading. I think it has to do with setup or apps as I have 2 Batteries and they both do it.
Stock ROM. is there any list of apps that kill Batt life?
Thanks

XDA II Battery!

Is it just me or XDA II's battery is weak???
The icon on my GPRS monitor show that I only have 4 hours (after full charge) before my battery runs out!!
Please advise me!!
Don't worry, 4 hours is based on phone talk time

My battery too is eaten up quickly when I activate the phone-abilty. Are there better batteries for sale anywhere?
I am for O2 to release a 'extended' battery.
At the moment I carry round two standard batteries swapping one by mid afternoon, which is a pain.
I would love one high-powered unit
Ashby
Battery time
I have found in a very non-sciencetific test, that the battery can actually last quite long:
7 hours 30 minutes (night) of Bluetooth OFF and no GPRS connection drained the battery from 100% to 96 %
7 hours 30 minutes of Bluetooth OFF and GPRS enabled, logged on to MS Messenger drained the battery from about 100% to 80 %. I was still logged on in the morning when turning the XDA on, pretty impressive.
Charging in the car cradle (Brodit active cradle) to and from work keeps the battery working all day.
Regards
Michael
I think the main problem is that we want our XDA's to do everything all at once i.e. GPRS online all day, Bluetooth active all day AND we want to actually use it at the same time i.e. make occasional phone calls (up to 1hr a day) AND use the PDA functions (1hr a day) AND perhaps to use it as an MP3 Walkman on the way to work as well (2hrs a day).
Yes it would be nice if it could do this but not everyone wants it to do so much and by providing as standard a battery suitable to last 18 hours (i.e. use all day - charge overnight) would mean the phone is uncompetetive in the market too expensive and too large (heavy). Would everyone pay another £60 ontop of what they paid (I know I would have thought twice)
I also do the battery dance mid afternoon so I for one would love to have a higher power battery (even if it means a bit more weight and size) but others do not. I suppose the real question is when will we at least get the option for a high power battery for us power users?
I think the only batteries available at the moment are the standard 1200mAh does anyone know how much difference would another 600mAh or even 1200mAh make to battery life?

Share : New Battery

Hello, i just want to give a testimony about my new Uni battery.
3 days ago I am buy a new battery for my TM MDA Pro. I buy this because I want to replace the 2-years old the original battery with brand new battery. Because the original battery is "damaged", the device blacks off when reach 38%, or 50% using UMTS radio, 80% using camera, 75% when using data connection. I am trying the troubleshooting rules posted by users on this forum but no effects.
Purchasing on the phone store, ask to the seller and they say they not have the Original battery, so the seller give me the second-quality one. I am comparing the original battery and the one which i will purchase. Different manufacture only. The original made in taiwan and the purchase one is made from China. Both from Dynapack.
after this all , i try it at my home. The new battery already filled but at 15%. Hey, if i am using the old battery one, i think the device cannot turn on. But with this new battery, it can switch on without turn off backlight or radio at startup. COOL!
And then I go to charge it until 100%. The battery is drained .. hmm little a bit quicker than the old battery, but It is very powerful, i still can use camera altough the battery at 50% ! Also i can use data connection when the battery at 15%.
So I think, buy a new battery is a solution if you have problems with the device that blacks off at XX%.
I just have this battery for 3 days, I will continuing testing this battery.
Note : sorry for my bad english
iam cheated........
even i was having battery problems die at xx%,i bought a made in china battery from a local shop.the time i inserted it battery was 45% left......but the battery backup was horribly low,in 15 mins my battery got to 15%....nd in next 10 mins it was fully drained......even if i havnt used any battery sucking apps,it was just in normal sleep mode, still it got drained, the original corrupted battery giving satisfactory backup despite of the turnoff issues....,i think iam cheated from that vendor......coz i bought it for a high price of 25$.and this f****ing performance is hurting me a lot......plz guide me guys what should i do.........
Sorry, there is something I forget to report, but mayur9890 has been remind me.
After initial charge until 100%, I carry it to my office. When on the road it still 100%. But after I reach office, it goes 69% ??? So quick??!!
But i have try to continue use them. But the device still working although the battery remaining is just 12%.
So I think I just have the "same" quality battery. Maybe the lost 31% on the new battery is same as 38% the old battery as that turned off. Hahaha...
mayur9890, the battery you buy is so expensive. I just buy around $15. With note my country is Indonesia.
Are the battery what do you buy is little same with the original battery? My old and new battery does not have significant differences. Just the manufacturer country. My new battery is from China also. From Dynapack.
I suggest you to buy that battery.
Thanks.

Question about battery: anyone has a similar usage?

Hi people,
I have recently dumped a Omnia2 for a Desire, just to try Android.
Although it's a beautiful phone, battery life is [email protected], so I'm considering a come back to WM, maybe to HTC HD2.
But before I make my decision, I want to know if the HD2 battery can last for at least 40 hours in my normal usage:
- 40 minutes of phone calls (made/received);
- 90 minutes (1,5 hours) of listening to music over bluetooth, using a bluetooth stereo headset;
- Auto-sync weather every 3 hours;
- Auto-sync email every 3 hours;
- 10-15 minutes of internet browsing;
- Manual sync of my Google account to update agenda and contacts twice a day.
All connections are made using 3G, I'm over a 3G network all day long.
With this daily usage, I got my Omnia2 running for about 65 hours! Let's say, almost 3 days long! I even left it on all night long, without worrying with the battery. Each day consumed 30%-35% of battery juice.
With that usage in my Desire, after one day 45% to 50% of battery juice is gone. I have to turn it off at night so I can use it the next day without recharging. It's about 26-28 hours of total usage before I have to charge it. I don't know if this is normal, maybe I just got spoiled by Omnia2 battery.
What about HD2? Does anyone have a similar usage? Do you think that if I use a HD2 that way, its battery will last longer than Desire battery?
If I had usage like that I wouldn't carry two batteries around with me Music trashes my battery and takes usage above 300mah which in theory is just over 4 hours and I listen quite a fair bit. The desire has a larger battery than the HD2 anyway and I don't think win mo has that great power management.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i seriously doubt that you will be happy with the HD2 battery performance (based on your usage)
im sure you're aware there are many threads re: the poor battery issue, personally i use my phone much more conservatively than you do & struggle to get more than 1 days use (usually 30% charge remaining by the end of the day).
i mostly use edge (switch to 3g if i want to download large email attachments/ web files or watch online vids)
all updates are manual & wifi & bluetooth switched off.
i decided to stop worrying about the battery some time ago & invested in 2 spare batteries. its not ideal but in this case i think the pros of the HD2 out weight the cons.
probably not what you wanted to hear, but this has been my experience, maybe someone can offer more positive feedback.
however if you like winmo, im sure you wont be disappointed with this excellent phone.
all the best.
battery extender
you could try a battery extender like the just mobile gum pro that i recently bought for UK £33 shipped. it's Li-ion with a capacity of 4400mAh, sufficient to fully recharge my hd2 2-3 times from flat without the inconvenience of having to pop the back and soft reset the phone as you would swapping in a spare hd2 battery.
wow, sorry to say this but hd2 is no match for your usage

that is interesting. How long does it take to recharge the phone???
See this thread
Hi,
Take a look at this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=718173
I regularly get more than 48 hours out of my battery but then I down listen to music much and definitely not via bluetooth so I have no idea how that would affect battery life.
I dow however use my phone a lot for reading ebooks which mean the screens on for extended periods and I still get to 48 hours +.
I'm busy transferring audio books to my phone so will be able to report back soon about extended periods of audio listening but that will be with the wired headset.

similar to the mains charger -- a couple of hours, and you can use the phone while it's charging (albeit slowing the charge rate). note: this is using the htc-supplied sync cable to charge which might be limiting the current draw to 500mA. the gum pro is rated for 1000mA output and i've just ordered a mini-to micro- usb adaptor with the data lines shorted which apparently fools the phone into thinking a mains charger is connected so that it may draw more current and charge faster still.
i forgot to mention before that the gum pro is relatively small and light -- think the weight of a pack of cards and about 2/3rds the size.
I do;
30min calls a day
1hr wifi router
30+min video playback
20 reminders a day (sound n vibrate)
All net updates every 30min (twitter, 3 emails, weather)
6am off charger - 6pm back on charger and usually has 40-50% battery life...
I reckon the HD2 would come close to your needs but there would be no margin for error. If it did what you asked the battery would die doing it...
I don't get people who want a phone to last 2-3 days...
I mean, don't people sleep at least a few hours everyday (during which the phone could recharge)?

It's a very good battery life you have there. I guess it would fit my needs.
BTW, you are on Telstra operator, right? If I'm not wrong, Telstra has 3G 850mhz. Wouldn't this better battery life?

[Q] Hows your battery ?

So i was wondering.. How is your battery performance on your Hero ?
Well mine is mere **** to say the least I need to charge it during the night and one more time during the day and when i go to bed its empty again .. Not.. good ! I use the Kimera 3.0 rom, which is perfect speed wise.. But the battery is another story (maybe not because of the rom?)
I use the phone a whole lot though.. Much time on Wifi and when not on wifi im on 3G / HDSPA .. But is the battery really supposed to be THAT ****ty?
Is there anything i can do to fix it?
My battery was holding for about 5 days at the beginning, currently it dropped to 2 days
call+sms+game(30')+wifi
used about 1 day
Battery is draining in no time!
If you are using a Custom ROM, after fully recharging your mobile phone
(i.e don't trust the green led, charge for more time) go to recovery and wipe battery stats.
If you still on stock rom, then start closing wifi/bluetooth etc etc..
My experience is that I had to charge it over night once and at least once
during the day... otherwise I would not be having a mobile phone to use
After 2 years my phone's battery is ... how can I say in one word? hmm ... Oh yeah, CRAP! , I recharge it twice a day or once a day but once a day is the perfect word depending how much Mobile Data I use (social networks, browser) and very few calls of 20 to 40 minutes total each day and maybe just maybe 30 minutes of games (once or twice a week I play games). It's not what it used to be .. now I am thinking getting a pocket for my charger for when I go somewhere
My battery was really bad, I'd have to recharge it at night and around 4 PM. Now I bought a new one and it easily makes it a day with 3g turned on and using it a lot.
dealextreme.com/p/pisen-twin160-replacement-3-7v-1350mah-li-ion-battery-for-htc-g3-hero-more-42658
i don't do much things with my phone except like texts and calls, some times wifi, so my battery can last about 2days, which still makes me have no words to say.
Mine lastes about 1 day(Heavy use). And i think is is perfect because i always recharge over night. So it does not need to last more than 12 h.
A couple months back my battery was getting swollen. Enough to make the battery cover bulge a bit. Battery life became a big problem at the end... turn on 3G and I could watch the battery percentage go down before my eyes.
I bought a battery (http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...xtended-replacement-battery-for-htc-hero.html) from Mugen's outlet store (which now seems to be gone?)
The new battery is great. It is at least as good as the original but probably better. The new battery has approx 200mAh more capacity.
I can get at least 1.5 - 2 days with 3G/wifi on all the time. I don't let twitter or facebook or whatever sync all the time though.
Battery holding out real well
I am using the Elelinux 7.1 Custom and it feels like the Battery life has improved. it ist holding out almost 2 and a half day, with 3g on during the day.
I can't remember the battery lasting longer than that but of course shorter. tried a senserom once Hero lived about 24 h.
I am expecting somehow the battery to crash soon I am using him since 2.5 years.
We will see.
I have just bought a new battery for my phone but it still dorps to 45% from the 8 in the morn till 23PM. Old one didn't make it till the night.
Average use. Half an hour calls, all time data network connection at hsdpa. 2 email accounts + gmail and facebook syncing.
I charge my hero every night save in exceptional cases, use the 3G connection when away from home and wi fi when they are, I surf on the internet enough and i play with games sometimes!
I think it's okay
i can use it fro an entire day w/o the battery dropping below 30% so im very happy with it. I always load it when I'm at home
After 2 years my phones battery still doesn't drain that much energy. I can llast 2 days with my Hero with the ICS rom from Glassmacka [Ice Cream Sandwich for Hero

[Q] Battery remains on 1% for almost one full day

I am creating this thread after exploring the options documented in other similar threads, where I have posted the same issue.
My original battery was weak and I got a new one for my Defy green lens.
I saw that the phone stays at 1% for a long time and then tried several of the tools which remove the battery stats and claim to re-calibrate the battery.
After several such cycles of full 100% charge and discharge till power-off, the phone's standby time has exceeded 2.5 days - out of which it remains at 1% for almost one full day.
Note: I am running Quarx's 4.4.4 nightly.
What are the other things I can try? The phone is used only as standby so I don't mind wiping it off completely and putting stock ROM and observe again.

Dont worry . this happens to me also.. im too bought a battery of 600rs from ebay and battery stays 1 % for a day...
For an investigation i checked the battery voltage (at 100% charge voltage will be 4.2) when it drops to 1%, its nearly 3.9 and phone will keep working till voltage reduces to 3.5... im getting 2 days minimum backup of moderate use...
now to explain why 1% , this is an answer i gt from FB group .. "dnt expect Original battery at 600rs wen its actually cost 1200rs, they are actually replica of real and the so battery circuit send false info to phone, and phone calculates percentage remaining on this "
i tried to switch some cm7 version but in all battery drop at 1% happens.... so i ignored it and my defy still rocks in daily usage after 3 years ...

I find it odd that this is not an original battery.
The battery charge is pretty good - more than 50 hours - no usage of the phone - but poor 2G connection/ weak signal.
I can contact the ebay vendor if that is the case, but I need to be sure first.
I have now put my original battery and I will see if it drains off in the same way or not.

I paid Rs. 600.
I put my original battery (3 year old) and that does not show the 1% issue, though the battery life is less than 2 days on it in standby mode.
