Gyrator 2 - many problems! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hello.
I'm new on this forum so I'm really sorry if this Thread is already but after read many topics I didn't find fix of my problems. Firstable... I saw demonstration G2 on the gyrator website and film present that the programs, app and other function of DIAMOND rotate very fast- in my HTC it's not so pretty. I configurated app with many instructions. Everything is done SMS\MMS is rotate but very slow. When I rotate my phone to reverse-landscape LCD rotate but when I return to Portrait application rotate after few few seconds- in demonstration film its one maybe two seconds. Maybe somebody know how autor of the film do this and why this APP doesn't work fast on my own HTC. I;ve got original ROM from polish ERA MOBILE and I tried calibrate G Sensor

HD rarely uses landscape mode

Folks,
I only got my baby yesterday, but is anyone else finding this?
For me, the device will only switch to landscape mode for Opera, Photos & Videos, and Teeter. Not in TouchFlow 3D Home or any of its tabs, Mobile Office apps, TomTom 7, ...anything!
I've tried turning off Touchflow 3D and rebooting with no effect and with the G-Sensor there is no manual setting to force landscape.
This makes the keyboard in TomTom tiny and means that the screen isn't that much more usable for Office apps than my venerable old 2.8" TyTn.
Please could someone tell me if it's just my phone that's afflicted or is it a "feature"?
Thanks!

no thats totally normal. and known since the first infos of the HD came out.
If you really want full landscape switching, get Gyrator2 or Gsen. both can be found on this forum
It doesn't help you, JTHM, but I hardly ever use landscape mode in my Touch (Elf) so perhaps the way the Touch HD works is by design for people like me. The only time landscape mode offers any advantage to me is for photos, videos and web browsing. With the mini USB connector at the bottom, my Touch is always in its cradle in portrait orientation and it sits in the car more easily this way too.
I'm surprised there's no manually-activated landscape option in the software though.
(Sorry that this post doesn't really help you but perhaps it illustrates that for some (maybe most?) users the lack of landscape isn't a problem at all and may therefore be by design.)
Hang on, can I clarify.
I like to use my xda2i in landscape with my bluetooth travel keyboard sometimes. Does this mean that i can't just rotate the screen to landscape and use it in landscape mode with my keyboard??

I think that raziel1 has already answered that question? Use Gyrator2 or Gsen both of which can be found in this forum.
It does seem to be missing a trick by not have some software button built in to switch the screen though.
I had one flaw with the HD: The typing. I wanted (like Iphone) to use the keyboard in landscape so i had more room for my fingers. But the HD doesn't do that standard.
I installed Gyrator 2 and set it to switch to landscape when i use my keyboard. In every application, now when I use my keyboard and tilt the device, the screen rotates.
It made my HD even better.
Which is better? Gsen or Gyrator? I know they have other features but I only want an app to rotate landscape and uses minimal memory as I guess it needs to be running on start up.
ok, gyrator is a PROGRAM. I thought it was another handset or something. oh as long as there is soemthing you can do te get the landscape working that's sweet for me. I'm really close to buying one of these beasts!
I'm surprised that TomTom doesn't rotate automatically.
I've sure I've seen screen shots of it in Landscape mode and wouldn't have thought those web site's had installed any other third-party screen orientation software.
Beards.
You can also purchase Resco keyboard. It has large keys that you can use with your fingers. Well that depends how big your fingers are. Best to download a copy of the program, install it and test it out.
And since the screen is 3.8, it should give you plenty of space on top to see your message?

yeah, after another reboot it's working now. tried it in a couple apps and seems fine so far... funny thing is with the streaming video app, when you go to fullscreen it auto rotates the screen, but as soon as you move the hd to landscape position gyrator rotates it again... will need to check out the docs on how to add exceptions.

problem with new sensor sdk and htc album

Hi
i installed new sensor sdk and reg cab
after that i have problem with rotating in Htc album sometimes it doesn't rotate sometimes wrong rotate and sometimes it is ok.
i installed new htc album too and i have problem like old one
what should i do?
good question ;-)
i have the same after new sdk install.
pictures taken in landscape are not displayed in the thumbview correctly ( displayed as upright format )
also, rotating does work .. but .. will go back to upright format after a few seconds without moving the device.
would be great if someone can have a look into this and advise what we can do to fix this.
( diam300, hspl 1.93, radio 1.00.25.05, udk beta 5 ger and a lot of modifications made to the software ;-)
cheers
I found that new sensor sdk and htc album rotate picture according to picture size to best fit of screen.
can anyone else test it?

Blackstone camera software update to Diamond 2?

I've read on some Diamond 2 reviews that the 5 megapixel camera is fast and responsive to the touch screen controls.
Do any of the XDA pro's on this site know if it will be possible to update the Blackstone camera software with the Diamond 2 camera software? I know this would require the hardware to be the same in both but an update to the camera on the Blackstone would be greatly received. Actually, why don't HTC provide an update???
ok, just did some more fishing on the forum and found that Dutty's latest firmware does exactly this. Sorry for wasting forum space - should have looked harder.
I haven't flashed a phone since my SPV M1000 - I take it flashing it will invalidate my warranty?
I guess you're looking for this cab.
1.- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493911
2.- CAB Repository (Topaz Camera)
(In the forums Diamond 2 is also Topaz)
Note that Diamond 2 camera has no zoom, and the pictures are taken and automatically rotated by HTC Album, so that you are not able to see it in the proper way. This could be more or less the solution:

I'm not sure if you're correct about the Diamond 2 camera having no zoom (i haven't played with it, so this is all 'what I think' not 'what i know'). It would not make sense for htc to release that device without zoom. I believe that it has zoom, but it's not touchscreen but instead uses the built in zoombar that's on the diamond2, hence there is no onscreen zoom touch buttons. This, however will soon be fixed for the HD port of that camera software/cab as people are developing the 'hardware' zoombar for the HD and are well along the way (there is already one working, but it doesn't work on all ROMs). In case you're interested, it's in the Themes/applications section of the blackstone forum and uses the bottom part of the HD to simulate the hardware zoom feature (from the 'pick up' button to 'hang up' button.

having trouble enabling lanscape mode

I just got my US hd2 the other day, and i'm having trouble trying to enable landscape mode on it. I tried to download mortscript but it didn't work. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, There are number of tools are available to you for rotation. BSB Tweaks is the only one I have personally used but Gyrator was mentioned again the other day (a quick search of XDA should provide lots of information on screen rotation).
HTC's concept of rotation and use of landscape appears to be that it should only be enabled where it provides the maximum benefit (messaging, browsing, movies etc.). I have seen nothing which successfully allows the Sense Today screen rotation to landscape (I haven't done a lot of research on it though to be honest). This is contrary to the likes of Samsung who are less restrictive with the facility (the Omnia rotated almost everything, with whizzy transformations too )
Hope this helps.
is this what ur lookING 4...i got this by installing elegance 2 theme cab. look for it using the search

Looks really good. There appears to be a newer version available (Elegance III). I've never heard anyone mention landscape themes in previous discussions surrounding this issue. I'm guessing I missed some.

[Q] Today in landsacpe

Hello, guys it is my first post here. i've searched alot about my issue but doesn't figure it out. When i saw this vidoe
i figured that my acer doesn't auto-rotate in today screen but it rotates in album and IE. so i thought it might be an application or it is a theme that makes it auto-rotate. so i want to know is it a theme or the Today screen has to auto-rotate.(accelerometer works in other application but not for this)
Acer S200
Software 3.003 EN (Updated from Acer website)
yes if you look up the F900 gsensor settings cab, this cab will allow you to set what apps auto rotate and it works for the today screen too
thanks for your reply but i didn't get what l've to do. i am new to smartphones , could u explain more?
Thanks, Bickmista. I figured out what you were talking about, i've downloaded PREI_GSensorSetting.CAB and it finally WORKS!!!. Thanks again for your time and effort. but is it ok or F900 is better?
Im glad i could help and im not sure, aslong as it works. i use the f900 gsensor cab and it works well for me, but if it works then stick with it the f900 cab allows you to set what individual apps are allowed to use the gsensor to auto rotate, i do not know if the one you have has this function.
Yeah, it has this function and it works fine for me. thanks again.
