I have downloaded the touchplayer (originally found in the Samsung Omnia I900 running windows mobile which had native divx playback) .cab I found on a site from XDA user: [germany]merlot. a link to his site were the touchplayer cab can befound and downloaded: http://mobile.etechniker.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=89&func=select&id=42&lang=de
I was hoping to get it up and running as another alternative to coreplayer. So the cab file installs alright but after its installed I try to open it but the program says it cannot be opened because it's either missing a file or the app is not signed.
Has anyone been able to run this on the tp2 or on another winmo device?
could be a bad download or maybe a DotNet issue????

I have that player and it is terrible. The menu and fonts are too small. Every divx file I played was very bad.

I tried this when I went looking for an avi player - the video/audio sync is always off, and it doesn't play a wide variety of vodecs, unlike coreplayer.

realplayer does not work?
Works fine on here... You get it from RealPlayer Mobile page for PocketPC? I stream music on it all the time...
I tried installing this yesterday, and it complained about the version of ActiveSync I used. Try this one - it's a straight cab of the latest release.

Isn't that Quicktime?
From the Apple site
Is QuickTime Player available for my phone?
QuickTime player is not available for mobile multimedia enabled phones because it is not required for playback on 3GPP or 3GPP2 supported phones. By supporting the 3GPP or 3GPP2 standard, any content created with QuickTime on a Mac or PC can instantly playback on the multimedia players that come preinstalled on mobile phones.

How can i play avi and divx on HD? plz some help?
As far as I know you will need good player. I will wait for CorePlayer 2.0
try this
http://www.4shared.com/file/51243023/beaf1cb8/TCPMP-072RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03CAB.html
This worked with my blackstone
I also used CorePlayer from CoreCodec... very good player, but you need to pay a small amount of money to be able to use it legally.
Plays probably anything you care to throw at it, most notably normal divX files, like ~800mb .avi aXXo rips and such.
I used the DIVX player for mobiles downloaded from DIVX.COM for free! Seems to play any Divx and Xvid .AVIs I've tried so far without problems! Give it a try!
http://labs.divx.com/MobileDownload
and since I posted that message, more digging around has pointed me to an updated version of TCPMP that works on WM6.1.
You'll find a link to that thread below...

Hope this helps!

does divx player mobile play flawless standard divx (for example 700mb divx) or did you convert to phone format?
I've read that the Core Player sometime has a choppy playback. Anyone here experience that?
And I'm also curious about jackthekayman's question as to how flawless the Divx player mobile plays videos.

Yes they are. Somehow they have the same source but core is faster while TCPMP supports more formats as like AC3.

CorePlayer is the only player worth using.. I bought it for my Nokia and have now transferred my license to WM6.1 (for free )
No conversion of formats is needed. Even Full movies etc.. Best framerate.
When coreplayer reaches 3.x in the near future it will also have hardware support for HTC phones.
Great program, great developers.
FYI... I haven't used TCPMP yet, but it is possible to convert an AVI file to MP4 which can be played with the HD's built in player. The easiest way to convert is is by using VLC to do it, here's a quick tutorial: http://appleclinic.wordpress.com/2008/04/20/convert-wmv-to-mp4/

thanks for that but same thing happened as with videora, it says "the file may be copied for storage or transport use only. it is not supported for use on the device". i converted it to mp4. think it might be to do with the video file itself i`m converting, its off a torrent. also when playing it through windows media player on my computer it says: "the selected file has an extension (.mp4) that is not recognised by windows media player, do you want to try anyway" an when playing the file the sound is there but no picture. do you need codecs for mobiles??? because when 1st playing the original file on my computer before converting it for my phone, same thing happened and i had to download codecs to watch it.
anyway thanks for your reply

Videora (TD2 Version) works perfectly for me...
Can you play back the original file on your PC?
And the converted one?
TCMP
Tcmp is your solution !
If you do a little search of this forum you may find a version of tcmp supporting the srt files.
With tcmp, you don't need to convert your avi files. It run pretty well in full screen with 700 mb divx files on my topaz.
use pocketdivxenc
Hi everyone,
I use this http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/EN_index.htm on my topaz and it's incredible....try it.
I use Beta version 0.4.5 and the templates tool, and i saw on my topaz Terminator Salvation, District 9 & Start Trek without problem on CorePlayer .
I hope it works for u
sorry for my english !!!

thanks for this, will the files play on windows media player on my phone when i`v used this or do i need a different player?
Usually Divx/Xvid..files for PC have an exagerated bitrate for PPC use, that is why it is wise to convert them.
Here's my technique:
1) convert original divx/xvid file with HTC Touch HD Video Converter, available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112
2) Copy resulting .mp4 file to SD
3) Play with HTC Album
Note: Coreplayer can play this file aswell, but I think that htc album playback is smoother.
Unfortunately HTC Touch HD Video Converter doesn't rip dvd, can anyone suggest some all-in-one application to easily make divx?
Anybody know a place to download a free player or fix to be able to watch XviD and DivX movies? Can't seem to find anything but CorePlayer, which costs money -.-

EDIT: Got it to work party now (the interface looks like a bomb has been dropped!)... but think it will look nicer if I convert since it doesnt draw a super-clear image and has a little jacking :/
This one is working on my HD2
Just unzip in Storage Card/Program Files, make a shortcut to player.exe, place it in Windows/Start Menu/Programs and voile.

Arguably the built-in PocketMediaPlayer is the best for the video formats it supports. For everything else, most people use CorePlayer.

should be somewhere on the forum - you just need to find the right version
also, put the video mode to GDI

Have you changed any settings lately? If not, try a soft reset. And pinch to zoom is not in Opera 10, so if you installed that it wont work. The HD2 has an optimized version of Opera 9 with pinch to zoom capabilities.
I went out for a run and turned it off before leaving. on my return after the soft reset it seems to be working again. like I said it's new so I'm still yoting with it, must have changed something without wanting to. thanks! while I'm at it, any idea why it won't play .avi files in the wmp?

I personally convert all my video to MP4 using Any Video Converter Pro, here is their free version (its basic, but free!)
http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
But it is easier to use coreplayer or TCPMP because they can play just about anything and you will not have to convert the file first.
And if you want to stay with Windows Media Player, here is some reading for you.
Formats supported by Windows Media Player Mobile

thanks for the advice. it's odd, the owner's manual states:
Video supported formats: .wmv, .asf, .mp4, .3gp, .3g2, .m4v, .avi
so I assumed there would be no problems playing .avi files. guess I'll have to give the converter a try.
