VLC PLAYER FOR PPC anyone

does anybody know where to find vlc player ppc.... the official site doesn't offer anymore... if you have it then please give me...

If you're looking for a video player, I'd recommend TCPMP very strongly. For audio, MortPlayer (for various reasons such as supports more than wmv/mp3, has built-in screen sleep mode and button mapping, is easy to re-skin).
What was your intended use for VLC?

I agree TCPMP is a great player, used it for a long time on my ipaq, and now on my wizard, just works great

Myrddin wyllt,.. I was kinda looking for good decoders for live streaming. I love to watch live tv over wifi, watching anime, basketball, news and etc... though wmp, tcmp, streaming video, core player, or even the mplayer ( doesn't support sound with wma streaming) don't offer that much decoders.. like rstp: streaming 3gp or mms streaming mp4... and I'm even hoping that there would be a divx stream for ppc! I wish.
I had all but lost hope for this... but then I heard that vlc ppc was also able to stream video... I was hoping that it would support all decoders.. IF NOT I"ll just copy the Plugins from the VLC (PC VERSION) then put in the vlc ppc directory...
IF i came up with an error in vlc streaming then i'll try copying the plugins... though i don't know if it will work or not? But who knows.
Though if i made some mistakes, please please correct me (thats the only way i'll learn)

If you want to stream 3GP through RTSP/HTTP, just use the HTC Streaming Media.
For wma streaming...why don't you use WMP?

WMP supports all lot but sometimes it doesn't work, Audio works but no video... and in mplayer support video but no wma....
BTW... IS htc streaming media the same as streaming media... I downloaded a WM6 rom onto my 8125 and got a streaming media software with it... IS IT the same as htc streaming media or an upgraded version?...

If you're looking for a Divx stream, DIVX.COM now has a mobile player. I haven't tested it that much, but the desktop version will play almost anything I throw at it!

VLC Player for PPC
Hi, am looking out for a ppc player which could play .VOB formats without conversion. I believe VLC Player can do the job. TCPMP is not supporting VOB. Help anyone? thanks.

Agreed....its an amazing player that plays almost everything

Yeah. There is only VLC Remote wich allows u to control VLC running on your pc/Mac via your PPC. And VLC Remote is only for WebOS (as i could find).

are these «nightly's» automatically generated by some software daily? if not, then who's posting them? or rather, wth are they? I cant figureout how to install them. whatever this vlc for winmo is, not holding my breath for it. I just wish vlc for android gets released soon, as it was announced last month but is still nowhere to be found. all I need is the ability to time stretch (fast playback speed at normal pitch/tone), but so far there's still no mobile programthat can do this on either WinMo or Android. sigh..

Video Player

Anyone know a good video player for Xvid, Divx, etc other than Divx mobile? Everything played thru media player runs smooth, but Divx mobile is real jerky with the frames. Anyone know a stable video player or codecs for media player? Link?

Wow, does TCPMP play media files? I thought it was just for streaming media. How do I open a video file off a storage card with TCPMP.

I also use SUPER to convert it to a smaller format to fit the screen better and help the small CPU do its work better.

All the videos i have are formated for ipod playback. I figured that was the ezest lazymans way of gettin ok playback from the phone. Is SUPER the actual name of the program? What is a proper size to run well on a wimpy overclocked Wing?

Well i think a good size could be 640x480?
I really should not know what size is best.. I just Copy all my movies on the memory card...(8gb card) And overclock it to 260Mhz

Im not sure what size they are, but it being off itunes or atleast scaled for a ipod, I would have thought that even OCed at 247 would help. And like I posted in the original, WMP doesnt have the framerate problem, only divx mobile gets hung up. Im guessing they just dont have the bugs out, or maybe its just to much for my wing to handle *cries* Ill try super out.

tcpmp and pocketdivx is a good combination for me....

I use SPB Mobile DVD and TCPMP combi. It can convert my DVDs directly to the pocket pc friendly format(in this case, 320 x 240). It can also scale the videos to fit them to play full screen with no black bars

Does SPB convert on the fly or from pc to ppc? And is pocketdivx the same divx mobile Im having issues with?

I have tried TCPMP and it crashes. Does this mean it that it does not crash on your X1?

I use Coreplayer for all my movies... it plays them well as long as you have converted them right...

Hi, what do you mean convert? Convert to XVid?

People have complained that if the file is not converted properly... it does not play well on Coreplayer...
I have Rush Hour 3 Xvid and have tried it on Coreplayer and it played well... Very nice...
Get a good convertor... Some people suggest the IPOD Video Convertor, also Super (FREE)... There are plenty more out there 2

I have tcpmp on my device as well as core player 2.0 and both will play xvid but core player won't play any ac3 audio so be careful of that. Core player plays things much smoother than tcpmp and u can kick ur buffering up to crazy number in coreplayer without it crashing. Anything above like 1MB will crash tcpmp.

Have you tried CorePlayer? Personally not tested it's streaming features but by far, the best media player out there..

I've tried coreplayer V1.25, but my mobile phone hanged....

diamond? works on mine perfectly with h264 streamsfrom the web. just lags a little and the resolution is different tho.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself. The term you are referring to is called 'stReaming', and not 'steaming', which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase...

Hi, I am using diamond too, you're using coreplayer to play h.264 streaming video? I used coreplayer to play that, but after I pressed the "play", the mobile will freeze on the screen.

Divx in HD??

I would like to play some Divx movies through windows Media player...
I got the latest player divx player but i noticed its not playing those movies in Windows media player... can you help me??

Windows Media Player won't play these files. You can either look for CorePlayer, or convert your video (using this tool).

Coreplayer works great, you just have to drop your Dvix in Storage Card !!!

Why must it be located on the storage card. It should be much faster from the internal storage in theory, and you can choose the location in CorePlayer, so I don't see any restriction here.

cause i don't know for you, but i don't have enough for a divx (~700mb) in my internal HD storage ^^

And who is saying that a divx video has to be 700mb in size? DivX is just a codec, it has nothing to do with the size of the video file.

You need 0.72, though with a special re-compile for the HD. It is linked somewhere around this forum, just search

Did not know this existed. How well does it work? Can it use the hardware accelerator in the HD?

Unfortunately that's not true. While CorePlayer is able to playback my videos with about 110%, I reach just about 70% with TCPMP. So TCPMP is quite useless on this device , although (with all available plugins it has a better media support. For example AC-3 and subtitles are supported).

Very true... but a standard movie ripped to DIVX is roughly 700mb+ as stated above - and theres no way you're getting that on Internal Memory.
I suppose it depends what type of videos you watch, but personally the only time I watch videos on my device is when traveling - where I watch full movies.

There was a whole thing with a 007 trailer in another thread, and all coreplayer users reported a ~85%, which I also got on TCPMP. Just remember to not use the GDI driver, and set the slow video memory option (those settings do make a difference).
Now, as soon as Coreplayer solves the hardware driver thing and/or goes well over 100% on that same 007 Quantum of Solace trailer, I am a buyer.
