How Can I Plan Real Media .RAM Files - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi Peoples,
Need help on playing .RAM files on my hermes.
realplayer does not work?

Works fine on here... You get it from RealPlayer Mobile page for PocketPC? I stream music on it all the time...

I tried installing this yesterday, and it complained about the version of ActiveSync I used. Try this one - it's a straight cab of the latest release.

Isn't that Quicktime?
From the Apple site
Is QuickTime Player available for my phone?
QuickTime player is not available for mobile multimedia enabled phones because it is not required for playback on 3GPP or 3GPP2 supported phones. By supporting the 3GPP or 3GPP2 standard, any content created with QuickTime on a Mac or PC can instantly playback on the multimedia players that come preinstalled on mobile phones.

Streaming TV FULLSCREEN please!!!

Hi all. Has anyone tried streaming TV using WMP10 (& PocketstreamerPro) and managed to get it in FULLSCREEN? I'm really getting peeved off with a viewable image the size of a stamp!!
Videos are OK in TCPMP, but it doesn't support streaming TV.
Or does anyone know of any plug-ins for TCPMP which allow it to stream? really need some help here..... :?
The latest tcpmp beta (1.71b IIRC) support tv streaming and mms. You should give it a try. For other format, try PVplayer

Hi again. I'm struggling to find that version of tcpmp that you quoted. I can only find version 0.71. Is that the same? Probably not! Could you point me in the right direction of a download link please? Cheers.
I'm pertty sure 1.71 was a typo. Get the latest version here:
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about
Yes, sorry for this. The version 1 is planned soon, and we are still at zero versionning. BTW, PVplayer is only for operator coded TV or movies. TCPMP is suited for a lot of streaming channels, and can also guess the link of the stream if you provide it with the URL of the containing web page in the file open dialog.
You REALLY can stream Internet TV through TCPMP on wifi!!!

Hi again. I actually bought PocketstreamerPro, only to find it way too restrictive and quite useless (as WMP 10 only shows TV in a small window and I can't find a workaround for it).
I fiddled around with TCPMP to no end, and to no avail I might add. But then I checked back to find your response, which implies that you can definately stream through TCPMP using the 'File Open' menu. Well, as there was nothing to link to (I had no format for storing the URL), I couldn't do it.
So I found a website called TV4all.com and copied some of the URLs there and typed them into the URL bar in my browser, which opened up Windows media player on my desktop PC. There I saved it as a '.mru' playlist (also checked in associations in TCPMP in addition to HTTP and MMS) and copied that file onto my storage card. TCPMP could and did find this and presto! I'm now streaming in full screen to my betaplayer (it takes a while to actually start working though). I now have access to potentially hundreds of Internet TV channels! I will explore further, but is this the way you do it? or do you have a much simpler process? feedback is most welcome right about now!!
Thanks for your help thus far though.

thats because you're using mini while he's using a VGA device, the universal
The file open dialog is to input a mms:// adress, or the http:// of a webpage linking to your content. If you input the webpage, you will get after that the list of all available streams on this page.
Hi, I have a question...
I have this app called "Streaming Video" under Programs. I guess it was there ever since I had this. I havent used it though coz I dont know how. I wanted to try video streaming but I dont know which RTSP url to put.. WOuld you know anything about this? Thanks..
.... additional: i tried opening azn.tv and saigontivi thru the video streaming app and its not working..
Anyone got any good pages that just offer direct links to the feeds ? Nearly every site I find you have to go through multiple pages and some of them wont even show properly.

Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)?

Any software for Universal that can stream TV in Real media format?

The only way that i managed to get the real player doing streaming video over my wifi on my exec was to run a free rstp proxy (ccproxy) on my pc and then it worked.

Does anyone have the "HTC Streaming Media" version 2.1 for Universal? I tried to install the Hermes "HTC Streaming Media" version 2.1 into Universal but fails.

The streaming media app doesn't support Real (tm) streams from what I've tried, but it does stream 3gp. I've extracted it from the Cheetah. Once I have the bugs worked out for a cab install I'll make it available.
Question: are there any good 3gp streaming sites? I had a hard time trying to find any by doing a google search.
I'll jump in the boat..
I've been looking forever for a decent RTSP player...
and i've tried real player and a whole heap of other crap to no avail still.

Have you read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=344&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 ?
<bump> Does anyone have the "Streaming Media" application?
I found it lurking in a TyTN ROM bundled with the camera application but when I attempted an installation it ended up stuffing up the camera application and the streaming media application didn't work either.
Any solutions here?

Diamond TV is free to try and can be downloaded from http://www.DiamondTV.fr/
Have fun !
Nice app, I'm trying on a square res 320x320 and while the skin is off a little, not bad just the buttons are not centered it is working.
Only played with it a little bit but it seems the USA channel Discovery is not working. Can you check if the address it correct. Other USA channels is working.
I had some problem in full screen on NBC, could be just this channel or connection.
I would like your xml file for skin to reskin this for the square resolution. Will be glad to help you out in this project.
Cant wait to try it out

Hi,
I'm working on an application to watch live TV on PocketPC. This is my first application on this platform, so development is quite slow and, for sure, not perfect. This application should work on any wm5 or wm6, QVGA or VGA device.
It contains more than 40 channels from 11 countries and has a lot of supported languages.
Here are some screen shots and a link for a beta version.
I'm waiting for your help and comments to improve Diamond TV. I'll add more channels as soon as possible (the more channels you send me, the more there will be in the application, and ... you'll have a free license key).
DiamondTV Web site: http://www.ds-info.fr/DiamondTV/
David
There already is a thread about that in the Diamond section, but since the application is now compatible with other devices, I've created a new one here.

Try to use another Media Player. I know that some channels won't work with Windows Media Player but will perfectly work with CorePlayer.

You're right, Discovery is not working, but the URL seems to still be OK. Let's wait a little and see.
Since it's my first dev on PocketPC, I've no idea of how skins work, so there is not xml file describing the skin. But I'll try to have the next version work on square devices)

Is there a way to play with Coreplayer? Mine defaults to WMP. It would be nice to have a setting to set which player is default.
on the website of coreplayer is written:
Streaming Formats:
HTTP, UDP, UDP Unicast, RDP, RTP. RTSP, RTCP (keep alive), ASX, ASF, Multicast, HTTP Tunneling
but no mms:\\

Well I don't know how your program is written but some programs use a config file usually .xml this file tells where the x, y, size, height, and other parameters for text and icons or buttons and defines where they are placed.

The default player can only be set using the player's options!
For Coreplayer, you have to go to Menu/Tools/Preferences ... and select page 'File Associations'.
when i m opening a http:\\ -file i get a certificate warning.. and cannot open... (with both, wmp and core)
looks pretty good, especially for a first attempt. thanks for sharing.

Touchplayer(Divx) on Touch Pro 2

I have downloaded the touchplayer (originally found in the Samsung Omnia I900 running windows mobile which had native divx playback) .cab I found on a site from XDA user: [germany]merlot. a link to his site were the touchplayer cab can befound and downloaded: http://mobile.etechniker.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=89&func=select&id=42&lang=de
I was hoping to get it up and running as another alternative to coreplayer. So the cab file installs alright but after its installed I try to open it but the program says it cannot be opened because it's either missing a file or the app is not signed.
Has anyone been able to run this on the tp2 or on another winmo device?
could be a bad download or maybe a DotNet issue????

converting avi video file????????????????????????

anybody know if there`s a program to convert avi video file to a file that plays on topaz? i want to watch movies on my phone tried videora but cant seem to get it to work. a nice easy one would be great, a beginners one maybe?.... if there is such a thing!!!

thanks for that but same thing happened as with videora, it says "the file may be copied for storage or transport use only. it is not supported for use on the device". i converted it to mp4. think it might be to do with the video file itself i`m converting, its off a torrent. also when playing it through windows media player on my computer it says: "the selected file has an extension (.mp4) that is not recognised by windows media player, do you want to try anyway" an when playing the file the sound is there but no picture. do you need codecs for mobiles??? because when 1st playing the original file on my computer before converting it for my phone, same thing happened and i had to download codecs to watch it.
anyway thanks for your reply

Can you play back the original file on your PC?
And the converted one?
TCMP
Tcmp is your solution !
If you do a little search of this forum you may find a version of tcmp supporting the srt files.
With tcmp, you don't need to convert your avi files. It run pretty well in full screen with 700 mb divx files on my topaz.
use pocketdivxenc

thanks for this, will the files play on windows media player on my phone when i`v used this or do i need a different player?
Usually Divx/Xvid..files for PC have an exagerated bitrate for PPC use, that is why it is wise to convert them.
Here's my technique:
1) convert original divx/xvid file with HTC Touch HD Video Converter, available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112
2) Copy resulting .mp4 file to SD
3) Play with HTC Album
Note: Coreplayer can play this file aswell, but I think that htc album playback is smoother.
Unfortunately HTC Touch HD Video Converter doesn't rip dvd, can anyone suggest some all-in-one application to easily make divx?
