Looking for a launcher of sorts...

Hi yall, been surfing these forms for a little while and have gotten lots of helpful adivce.
Anyway, I have a dumb question; is there some sort of launcher or UI for the PPC that is simular to the PSP's UI? I want something that's simple like the PSP's UI, which I could use with one hand when I'm driving or just don't feel like pulling out my stylis. Something that you can just launch and have it run in the foreground most of the time yet when I want to surf or something I can just minimize it.
So is there anything like this out there, or am I just going to have to learn to write in some random PPC lingo.
Edit: I've noticed that those UMPC things (Origami Project) have a launcher thing as well. Just FYI.
WM5NewMenu - with this program you can make menu with subcategories and bind it to one of the softkey's so you can launch it using softkaye and then navigate with pad.
it's free

Why not use Spb's Pocket Plus or SBSH's iLauncher and use large icons?

WM5NewMenu isn't exactly what I wanted, (something that basically takes over for the today screen in a PSP like UI) but it should do just fine. Thanks.

REQ: Can anyone port the Sirius iphone app?

Of course I ask but have no idea how easy or complicated it would be but if anyone could port this to WM that would be great. It looks very similar to StarPlayr which is why they probably shut it down, it's free but they don'y have support for WM. Here's a link
http://www.siriusxm.com/oniphone/in...IRIUSSTAGE&utm_medium=Banner&utm_campaign=APP
there's sirius and xm wm apps, but there's no iphone to wm port machine or anything...

thanks for the response, I didn't know that. I knew about the ppcgeeks app, the iphone app looks like the StarPlayr app that I miss so greatly

New Manila Screenshots !!

Hi,
I just watched the video from the new HTC Hero:
http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/24/htc-hero-details-begin-leaking-from-htcs-own-website/
It is Android, but most of the screen is Manila, copied and slighty re-designed from Windows mobile, so 90 percent is the actual diamond 2. But if you look carefully, you see some NEW additions:
-Advanced Image viewer with mirror plane, facebook and flickr added
-Advanced music player, new design
-Advanced calendar with agenda view
-Footstep added
-NEW Email client
-NEW Stopwatch
-NEW Timer
if the copy lots of features from windows mobile, then I expect HTC to copy those new Features back to windows mobile manila.
Just checked out the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kshGq8COSiM
This TF3D like UI looks awesome!!! I just need to buy this phone! I always thought android looked boring as hell but the HERO will be my first android device for sure. It's beautiful!!!
The Name of the new interface ist "sense" afaik!
i really dont like it X_X the small ball on the phone
Not keen on the phone but the UI looks very interesting, would love to have this on my Touch Diamond but is it possible as the Hero is Android?
LOL,
Looks more like the gadgets you could insert in the Android itself.
I think only feature is the scroll bar. That is the trick that we can think it's a new manilla
look here http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=5239
a porting to windows mobile is planned.
Since this is regarding an Android device, and not actually posting an application, moving out of Dev and Hack.
i can't wait to see how htc will merge Manila and new wm 6.5 titanium UI .. I hope the new Interface merge tabs and titanium plugins that can be added to multiple manila pages

Cooollllll........
wow...really like the UI
Love the UI, but here is probably why it is so difficult to run Hero ROMs with Rosie on our Dreams.
"512MB/288MB ROM/RAM"
More ROM, and nearly 100 more MB of RAM than the G1.
is it possible to port this on G2??
i think it is because it is the same device and same os.....
HEHE first screenie had P.U.T.S on it
People Under The Stairs = best underground hiphop group!!!
Sorry didnt mean to side track this thread. But looking nice, Android OS looking on the up nd up

How to code this kind of UI in Windows mobile?

Hi,
I just watched Qt demo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhba1lhBllM
What is the name of the ui component that the guy flick through (with nice animation just like a jukebox) before bringing up the demo application. I would like to code something like this for window mobile. Is Qt has this ui component? Else anyone has any idea how to code it? I know it's probably using opengl es to do the animation (may be the whole thing is opengl es). I have htc touch diamond and htc does has something similar for their audio manager which is why i wanted to do something similar. Any helps is appreciated.
Thanks.
Kind regards,
Stephen
There are a couple applications out there that I've seen that have that effect. Two that come to mind are A_C's S2P and Thundershadow14's PictureFlow.
S2P (older version has it...newer version has coverflow effect disabled since he's still working on it)

PictureFlow v0.7

Hi SeanFromSoCal,

Windows Mobile app's on Android

Probably a stupid question and I appologise in advance, but is there any way of running Windows Mobile apps on Android. I quite like the look of HTC Desire.
The trackball thingy looks good, I really miss the "D" button on my Touch HD.
Problem I have is I use a couple of Windows Mobile based programmes for work and couldn't really give them up. So is it Desire or HD2

Withing the android market there are tons tons of apps that are the same or better than many of the current windows mobiles apps, you would just have to find the android counterpats and or similar apps.
