Anyone up for popping Bubble Wrap?
If you have to kill some time, it is always fun to pop bubble wrap, unfortunately it may run out...
Not anymore...
Virtual bubble wrap is the way to go. Pop as many bubbles as you can within 45 seconds, they do regenerate in a funky sort of way.
If you pop all the bubbles before one has a chance to regenerate you get your time left on the clock times 5 added to your score.
Enjoy...
Supports VGA, QVGA, WQVGA and WVGA
If you are missing opengl, try the attached libGLES_CM.cab
Update v1.1
New Icon, Fixed minor bug
Cool as usual, mate
works great on a Touch Pro 2...fun as usual
Cool game, but it works pretty slow on my iPAQ 214 Could you optimize it somehow?
is it normal that it is very slow ? (on a Diamond) without any UI (no manilla, no spb power shell... nothing).
It is like the screen is updated every seconds, I have time to pop out 10 bubbles before seeing them going flat :/
Works great on my Fuze, but there is a memory problem. After exiting game nothing shows in Task Manager but an active process (looking through MemMaid) remains open, bubblewrap.exe 1.74mb.
If you open the game again you get a second process occurance even after closing. Hope this can be resolved. I am already addicted.

i believe those issues are caused by opengl drivers you might have on your device, i ran the app on my phone (htc diamond) and it runs and closes without any issues. also tried on emulators and it seems to be fine. make sure that you do not have libGLES_CM.dll in the app directory (should be in windows dir only), also try to download attached libGLES.cab (i just put a different cab). let me know if it made any difference, thanks

OK, I have some news :
without your OGL cab (the one from yesterday) : I got an internal error, I had to soft reset my diamond.
I decided to add your OGL cab (I did the install on the external storage) : It was slow as hell.
Then I tried to install the OGL cab on the device : still slooooow
then I uninstalled the OGL and now it works as it should ! (I guess)
I managed to score 205 points.
Besides this technical problems, for me, it's almost impossible to flat down the bubbles once they start to regenerate. I manage to do it in one shot, but if a bubble starts to regenerate, I can't catch up because everything is almost popping back at the same time, and you have to wait after them to become ready before being able to flat them down another time :/
btw nice game
Hi:
I tried to install on a Fuze with ATT ROM. I keep getting a message that the installation was unsuccessful. I do have ample free memory.
Thanks!

I ugraded to the new HTC/ATT ROM last night so my device is now pretty clean (and much faster). I checked and I only have one LIBGLES_CM.dll on my device, located in the \windows\ folder. Size = 319.9K & date = 11/26/08. This is the same file that was on my original stock ROM. How is this file different from the one in your CAB? How will it affect my device? With a clean setup I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up.
BTW, I tried opening a half dozen games, including Magic 8 Ball and Peg Jump. None of the games left anything behind, but Bubblewrap still left the .exe running.
Thanks for your efforts.
did the bubble wrap work with the original libgles_cm?
Good but slow
i love games like these but it runs slow on my HTC Kaiser is there anywhy of making it faster

Morning All
Have just discovered this website, and frankly it terrifies me.
I have been wallowing in shame since purchasing the Exec because I have no idea what I can do to improve it. I have been trying to read as many posts as possible, but even though some posts are written so "my wife could understand it...", it is still a little complex for me.
A few things I would like to do:
Get rid of the delay on flipping from Landscape to Portrait.
Get rid of the awful buttons down the left hand side and the gap at the bottom of the Landscape screen so I can actually utilise the full screen.
Get SBP Diary working propoerly when the screen flips (never seems to fit)
Make WMP 10 to swow my movies in full screen rather than postage stamp size.
I am a man of very simple tastes. I want to watch a movie or play Tiger Woods on the train on the way to work.
I want to run WeatherPanel (Marsware) without it crashing and requiring a soft reset every so often. I would also ike it to operate full screen.
I want to keep a note of my battery performance and some international time zones.
On my XDA 2 I used to run:
Battery Pack
Journal Bar
Neither seem to work on the Exec without sucking all the memory out of it.
I run Town Compass Bartender Drinks and Pocket Stars. I run A-Z viewer and Pocket Streets. All of these are from my memory Card (1GB)
I rarely use the internet, but like to check a few scores, especially when abroad - can this be sped up?
From all the above, you will see that I am quite a simpleton - amongst other things - but am I beyond saving?
I was sent the latest ROM upgrade by O2. Should I do it? Will it help, or is there another upgrade that will stop my moaning?
Oh, lastly, I understand very little jargon and need everything spelled out as if to a 3 year old (with little PPC experience)
Please , please help. If for no other reason than it is Friday and that makes you happy.
Kindest regards
Rich

Use pocket dvd studio or virtual dub to resize your video to 640x480 to get fullscreen
I found the best 2 suggestions for my XDA picked up here were:
Hard-reset and select the corporate install and leave out some of the slow O2 customisation.
Make sure no today plugin is calculating & displaying the space on the SD card - this can cause significant delays the switch between portrait/landscape .
I did upgrade the rom (same as a hard-reset but can be a bit more nerve wracking for some). I think some had problems as the document mentions turning the phone back on but did not say turn it off first. I turned phone/bluetooth/wireless off before upgrading an it went smoothly.
When I upgraded I noted all the actions in Notepad, with serial numbers and registry edits etc. Found this usefull when the OZvga stuff screwed up and I had to hard-reset again!
Steve
Brilliant - Now have internet probs though - any idea why??
Thanks Stevie
Have managed to do this whilst at work and even though I have had limited time to play with it, it has improved a thousand fold.
Beggars the question why they bother to fill the system with all that rubbish in the first place.
Only problem is now I seem unable to connect to the internet. Admittedly this may have something to do with my work PC, but it is saying that GPRS 3G wont connect either.
Do you have any suggestions??
Whiggy - will get this and am sure to be overflowing with gratitude over the weekend
Have a grear weekend all.
Rich
I think the settings for o2 are in the customised stuff but check back through the threads as the question has been asked a few times on the correct settings - one of the other members guided me through the MMS settings. I think there may be a cab file as well with just the o2 connection settings on it.
Search for 02 connection setting or something like that.
Steve
I too had the same problem with Internet Explorer when i installed my Exec in Corporate Mode. I found this cab file somewhere on the Forum, can't remember or find where so have re-attached it.
With this cab file installed (it does not install any of the O2 rubbish that you don't want, only the connection settings to allow you to use GPRS & UMTS)
When prompted you need to select personal mode, to ensure that the file installs properly.
Hope this helps
On SPB Diary screen not fitting...find out the size that works for you for each screen orientation, then edit registry:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Spb Software House/Spb Diary/TotalHeight - for Portrait mode,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Spb Software House/Spb Diary/TotalHeightL - for Landscape mode
Sorted!
if you are having problems with the connection to internet and phone connections, let us know your provider and am sure we can post the cab file so that you can just install that feature.
otherwise, install total commander for a file explorer
path it to \extended_rom\ and find the file for your communication provider and run just that one cab file.
mms connections cab file here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=205766#205766
For a few other comments to your initial question as i am bored and sitting here debating going to bed.... I Know, read item 2/3 of the initial post, but I am going to break the rule and type in upper case to seperate my comments from the original, I AM NOT SHOUTING.....
Get rid of the delay on flipping from Landscape to Portrait.
FIXING SOME OF THESE OTHER ITEMS WILL LEAD TO THIS, BUT CORPORATE INSTALL FOR 02 AS I READ IT IS YOUR ONLY CHOICE, HARD RESET, START AGAIN.
Get rid of the awful buttons down the left hand side and the gap at the bottom of the Landscape screen so I can actually utilise the full screen.
I THINK THIS IS THE RETAIL CONSUMER CRAP THAT COMES WITH O2 AS I DONT HAVE IT ON THE IMATE. REFER ABOVE POINT.
Get SBP Diary working propoerly when the screen flips (never seems to fit)
MINE WORKS PERFECTLY, LOOK AT YOUR FONTS. SEND A SCREEN SHOT SO THAT I CAN SEE WHAT YOU MEAN BY DOESNT FIT.
Make WMP 10 to swow my movies in full screen rather than postage stamp size.
KNOWN BUG, ANTICIPATING A FIX. USING TCPMP AVAILABLE FREE ON THE WEB SHOULD PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE APP FOR WATCHING VIDEOS IN FULL SCREEN.
I want to run WeatherPanel (Marsware) without it crashing and requiring a soft reset every so often. I would also ike it to operate full screen.
NEVER HEARD OF IT, I USE SPB WEATHER PERFECTLY.
I want to keep a note of my battery performance and some international time zones.
USE THE CLOCK FOR ONE TIME ZONE, BUT IF MORE THAN THAT YOU CAN USE MOBIMATE PROFESSIONAL I THINK IT IS.
On my XDA 2 I used to run:
Battery Pack
Journal Bar
GET RID OF BOTH IN MY VIEW, BOTH ARE CRAP. JOURNAL BAR WILL KILL YOUR SPEED. I DOWNLOADED THEM TRIED THEM, USED THEM, WENT BACK TO SPB AND USE RSS FEEDERS OR SYNC'D PAGES TO KEEP UP. ALSO, I DONT THINK JOURNAL BAR IS ACTUALLY WM5 COMPATIBLE, NOT MY CALL ON THAT ONE.
Neither seem to work on the Exec without sucking all the memory out of it.
AS MENTIONED, GET RID OF THEM THEY ARE SUCKING THE CRAP OUT OF IT.
I run Town Compass Bartender Drinks and Pocket Stars. I run A-Z viewer and Pocket Streets. All of these are from my memory Card (1GB)
NEVER HEARD OF THEM. JUST CAUSE THEY ARE ON THE MEMORY CARD DOESNT MEAN THAT WHEN YOU HAVE USED THEM, THEY CORRECTLY GIVE ALL THE MEMORY THEY WERE USING BACK. SOME DO, MOST DONT, AND SOME JUST HOG IT AND GIVE ONLY A FEW KB'S BACK. MEASURE THERE PERFORMANCE WHEN YOU USE THEM PREFERABLY AFTER SOFT RESETS.
THERE IS A COUPLE OF LITTLE TINY APPS AVAILABLE THAT ARE SLIGHTLY SUCCESSFUL IN FORCING APPLICATIONS TO RELEASE MEMORY AND GIVE IT BACK, BUT AGAIN, ONLY SLIGHTLY SUCCESSFUL.
I rarely use the internet, but like to check a few scores, especially when abroad - can this be sped up?
FIND A WEBSITE THAT PROVIDES THIS INFORMATION, PLACE IT INTO YOUR MOBILE FAVOURITES ON YOUR COMPUTER, SET IT UP TO AUTOMATICALLY SYNC TO YOUR PC MACHINE, THEN SYNC THAT DATA TO YOUR PDA. DISABLE ALL PHONE COMMUNICATIONS WHEN REVIEWING TO STOP IT GOING TO THE WEB TO GET THE DATA AND FORCE IT TO LOOK ON YOUR MACHINE FOR THE INFORMATION.
I'll offer my thoughts on the questions you ask with which I've had some experience...

The default O2 software will slow your machine down spectacularly. Do a hard reset and choose 'Basic' mode (not corporate). Basic mode doesn't install all the O2 crap, but DOES install the connection settings for you, so you can access the internet and stuff. Later, when you're an expert like all of us (NOT! ) you can/should choose Corporate mode and then install your chosen CAB files yourself.
Another thing to do to speed up your Exec is to turn off Error Reporting and Incoming Beams. You'll find these items in the Settings pages.

I'd ignore Whiggy's suggestion of resizing all your movies  , and I'd do what Simon_Darley suggested: install TCPMP which is a free media player that works perfectly in full screen. (Google for 'TCPMP'.) The full-screen problem is a known bug in WMP which they'll hopefully fix in due course. Resizing all your movies to 640x480 seems like a lot of hassle and a waste of disk space when TCPMP plays them just fine.

There's a fantastic free battery meter that someone posted in another thread on this forum and which I'm using with no problems. If I can find it I'll add it to the bottom of this post. SPB Pocket Plus has a battery meter, but PP slows the Exec down so much that I uninstalled it.
If I want to know a world time I use the built-in clock application, which works for me.

There are lots of programs available that claim to be WM5 compatible, but they're not. They'll do more to slow your Exec down and make it unstable than anything else you can do. Choose your programs carefully, and test your machine after each installation to check whether it's slowed the thing down.
After doing this I decided that I can live with almost all the default MS apps, but add extras that I use occasionally, like TomTom, ListPro and TCPMP. Anything running all the time (like a Today plugin) or anything that replaces the PIM (contacts & calendar) could cause you big problems.
I personally disagree fully with the theory that people in these forums often quote, of using a task switcher to force the closure of running programs (instead of allowing Windows to minimise them). MS designed the OS to handle memory itself, and my machine works perfectly when I allow this to happen.

A word of caution in case you haven't tried this yet: GPRS usage abroad costs a bloody fortune (as a friend found out after a week in New York in which he checked his emails from time to time, leaving himself with an £80 bill when he got home...)

I tried to do a search about this, but nothing came up. For some reason, whenever I tried to open my Windows folder using Resco, it takes about 8-10 seconds before it opens up. I don't know what program I've installed that can be causing this. In fact, I even hard resetted and restored using one of my latest backups. The folder opens up normally and quickly, but then a few syncs later, it goes back to taking 8 sec to open the folder (so, only the Windows is affected). I'm thinking maybe it's some dll file that resco or the built-in file explorer are trying to read, but just a conjecture. Please advise if you have any suggestions.
is resco installed in the main memory or storage card?
Opening the windows folder is always slow - it has to gather info on every file, from ROM (which is slow anyway) and then gather icons for every .exe. Disable showing icons for rom files in your settings (I use gsfinder, but I'm sure Resco does this too).
V
I have resco installed in the main memory. I can try disabling the icon display. The only thing disappointing here is it was opening the Windows folder fine, until suddenly it slowed down (overnight). I tried to figure out what program I installed in the interim, but couldn't find anything. This has happened before, but was corrected with a previous backup restored. Then happened again after a few weeks. I just wish there is an answer, instead of me blaming it on software incompatibility. B/c if that's the case, I have to be careful about installing every program in the future. And with WM5, you can't always uninstall programs cleanly.

One way - overclock your PDA.
Speaking of overclock. Where can I find the omap overclocker? Excuse my ignorance, but I did a search on the net, it links from one site to another, but I can never find the actual site for the download. Does anyone know?
I too have noticed this problem with opening the Windows folder. I have the following observations:
1: Normally when I tap the windows folder it opens up before the spinning coloured wheel has completed one full turn.
2: When the slow down occurs it takes about 4 spins of the colured wheel before the windows folder opens up.
3: Once the slow down has occurred it can be noticed both in Resco file explorer as well as the original windows file explorer.
4: I have noticed that this slow down in opening the Windows folder is also accompanied with a slow down of the boot up time. In my case when things are working nromally a boot up takes 1 Minute and 30 Seconds. (this is the time between when I press the reset button to the time when the today screen has fully redrawn). Once the problem has occurred the boot time increased to 2 Minute and 5 seconds.
5: In my case this problem has occurrred most of the time when I have installed a new software after installing NetFront 3.3. In my case the solution that has worked is to uninstall Netfront 3.3 and then again reinstall it. In other words if I install any new software I first have to remove Netfront 3.3, install the new software and then reinstall Netfront 3.3.
By the way my device is an i-mate Jasjar but the observations are quite similar to the prophet.
Kind Regards
same here guys.. It is obvious that slow down accure after active sync or new application install. Then it makes me think it has to do with registry modification, once windows folder has been modified? Forgive me my ignorance, I’m not a programmer.. And this is just observation in an effort to find a couse and solution. Any ideas? Anybody? Cuz this is really getting on my nerves. This prophet is disappointing me a big time I have magician and prophet and when I compare two phones, with prophet over clocked to 240 (this is optimal speed before it crashes) and magician with its normal speed, both phones have same applications running and the difference is like driving the porche and old opel! Where magician is a porche! I can watch high quality, full 600 mb movie on magician without a flinch! And prophet is barely moving!! I got to tell you, I love the design and everything, but by putting an OMAP processor with WM 5 (which is slow as it is) HTC really screwed up! First they try to make a PDA out of phone, and then they are taking it back from PDA to a phone.. I’m selling it I guess Atom is the next thing for me. It’s just to darn expensive
Smrz, I think you pretty much hit it on the nose with netfront. I noticed that on my old dopod 818pro and now the jamin, the slow down occurred after netfront was installed. But I dismissed that it was due to netfront b/c I think I reinstalled it, and then it was back to normal. But I didn't think about netfront causing a conflict only IF YOU INSTALL NEW APPLICATIONS. I think I'll try reinstalling netfront again, and see if it works. What's frustrating with wm5 is I can't cleanly uninstall applications anymore. Is this unique to my machine, to prophet, or to WM5 in general. Everytime I uninstall, it says it can't do it, but it'll remove the application name from the Add/Remove menu. Meanwhile, I have to go delete the folder in program files manually. And who knows what happened to my registry and dll files during all this. BTW, anyone know where I can get that overclocker?
Windows folder
Hi,
any solution found to this problem? My normal time of opening the Windows folder is about 4 secs. After installing of any application which copies its files to Windows folder the time grows. I've tried to uninstall the application, the files are gone, free space is as before, number of files in Windows folder is the same as before, but the slowdown persists.
After installing Manila 2D for example my Windows folder takes up to 40 secs to open and everything slowed down (boot, opening apps from Windows).
Anything I can think of now is maybe a filesystem problem? (\Windows inode corrupted somehow, probably relayed to the fact that it is linked to ROM files)
P.S. I have SPV M3100 (TyTN) with WM6.
Thanks for any advice except hard reset
The title says it all really - I haver tried installing Core player several times, and used various versions, but every single time I try to run it I get a program crash notice. I am using standard HTC ROM at the moment, and little in the way of modification except useful stuff like advanced config. WMP10 will run a video nicely on full screen until I tilt the phone and it flips to portrait so I can only get half the video screen - if anyone has the correct line to insert into gSen, that would solve the issue - #window(?????) is what I mean. Thanks in advance.
There is a game on the iPhone called Lights Out where the object of the game is to light up or knock out all the lights in a 5x5 grid. When a square is selected that square and its four immediate neighbours, above, below, and to each side invert. There is no wraparound. The object of the game is to get all the squares black.
At the risk of revealing my age, I saw a hand held version of this game in the early 1980's.
When mastering any new programming platform, this application becomes the standard with which I start. I know the logic, so the problem merely becomes getting the thing to run under the new platform. I wrote this in 2005 while fighting my way through the very steep learning curve of Embedded C++. Previous platforms for this program have been, ZX81, BBC Micro, DOS, Windows and finally Windows Mobile. Next stop Linux!
It is an example of minimalist programming on WM. Written in Embedded C++ as a Win32 application it is targetted at ARMv4 chipsets. As such it should run on all PPC versions from Windows Mobile 2002 onwards. The menu is limited to two main items, so WM 5/6 will display it as a WM 5/6 app. Minimalist programming means it can be distributed as as a single .EXE file of a mere 9.5 Kb in size. The DLLs it calls are already on your device, there is no need for a .CAB installation.
It has 5x5, 7x7 and 9x9 grids, all are solvable.
I hope you enjoy it. It will keep you quiet but it might drive you totally nuts!
UPDATE!!! Now works with 480x800/240x400 devices, see later posts for the details.
UPDATED!! Version 1.2 released.
Changes: 11x11 grid added. It is solvable, but it took me a while to figure it out!. You may need a stylus as fingers may be a bit too awkward. For that reason, I do not intend to go to 13x13 and beyond.
The short display glitch on initial program load now fixed.
Game and drawing code optimised. (There are often better and faster ways to do things, if you take the time to look.)
UPDATED!! Version 1.3 released.
Now also runs on both Pocket PC and SmartPhone devices. Now runs on any sized screen, even those that have not been released yet! The blank screens that were reported in later posts are now a thing of the past. Here's the method, take the width and height of of the client area and size the game to 90% of smaller of the two. Why did I not think of that in the first place?
SmartPhone users:- Welcome aboard! Image attached below: The white square is the target square. Move it to the square you want to change with the D-Pad/Arrow buttons, then press 'Enter' to change it. Smartphones prior to Mobile 6.0 may not have the 'File Explorer' application. (It depends on the OEM build). In this case, use ActiveSync. Connect to your phone and drop the unzipped 5x5.exe file via the 'Explore' option into the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games\ directory, and it will appear alongside Solitaire and BubbleBreaker in the games menu of your device. Smartphone 2002/2003 users need to use \Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games\
Pocket PC users won't see any change, just tap the square you want to change. The program looks at which platform it is running on, and behaves accordingly.
UPDATED!! Version 1.4 released. - The Knight's Gauntlet.
Just when you thought you've mastered it, the Knight's Gauntlet is firmly thrown down. Selecting Knights from the main 5x5 menu, changes the pattern of squares that are inverted to those a knight's move away in chess, (two forward, then one to the side), as per the Knights image below. Up to 9 squares will invert on each move. As per changing the grid size, toggling the knights game on and off will restart the game.
All four grid sizes are solvable, but you are warned, it is a lot harder than the normal cross game.
It was only a small change to the game logic, and this program was all ready to go in September, but I would not release it, until I had proved to myself that it could be done. A brute force attack can be used to break the 5x5 Knight's game but as the grid gets bigger the problem grows exponentially. A quad core processor running a console C++ application, using the SSE3 PC registers (XMM) macros to play one move on the entire board in one machine instruction, was not enough.
I had to use a special version of the mobile program that could dump the state of the board and moves out to a file to be analysed by the PC later by a suite of programs that could combine boards together by the thousands. All good fun!
On and off, it has taken me three months to find the knights solutions to the 7x7, 9x9 and 11x11 games.
UPDATED!! Version 1.5 released. Now with demo mode.
For those who think it is impossible, let the demo mode show you how to do it.... But there is a slight twist........ You will be shown the same solution for each puzzle each time, but the moves are shuffled and they may also be reflected or rotated, just to confuse matters further. Shuffling the moves, rotating, or reflecting, logically, has no effect on the final result.
Happy puzzling!
18th Feb 2010 update fixes WinMo 6.5.3 Dialog box issue mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=635063
23 June 2011 CE version added. Note this version is for Windows CE, ARM powered devices only, as is displayed in the last of the images below. Don't run this version on a WinMo device the display will look awful! As an extra caveat, it will only run properly if the OEM of your CE device has built the OS with components that are expected by the 'Standard' version of the SDK as used by EVC 4.0.
Any screenshot?
Thanks!

Small problem
Hi,
I'm probably missing something here, but I get a white screen without anything I can actually do with it (using Omnia).
Any help?
Grief that is going to be addictive.
So simple yet so tricky at the same time.
works fine on a SQVGA (320x320) device to, and im after 1 minute angry ....
very nice; solved 5x5 - 9 clicks. going to try to crack 7x7
this is lot's of fun & a little tricky!
nice game
Does not work with my HTC Touch HD (WVGA 800x480)

Nice little time waster you have here! Thanks!
Anybody thown their phone out the window in frustration yet?
To the members having trouble with high resolution devices, it was only written to run on 'standard' Pocket PC screens, 240x320 portrait/landscape and 240 square devices.
Sorry it doesn't work properly on larger screens. I'll have a look at it. I may have to borrow one of these later wizzo phones from someone, and find out what's going wrong, or I'll see what's in the WM6 SDK emulator.
May take a while, but I'm on it. Watch this space.
doesn't work on touch diamond 2 with 800x480?
any solution you might know?
anybody??
seems like a great hit, this game.....
tnx in advance
marcel
I have downloaded the WM 6.1.4 SDK from Microsoft's site. It includes a 800x480 device image.
The bad news is the program produces the effect mentioned above. i.e white screen, and nothing.
The good news is exactly that, the bug can be reproduced. This will allow me to step through it, figure out exactly what the hell is going wrong, and fix the code.
This may take few days to sort out, more later.
Fixed! Now works on 800x480 devices as well, in landscape or portrait. Use the zip file in the original post at the top, it has been updated with the new program.
The reason for the fault was that 800x480 devices return a bigger value for the long side of the screen when using GetClientRect();
The program did not recognise this value and could not figure out whether it was landscape, portrait or square, which fouled up the WM_PAINT code.
The code automatically centres the grid in the window, so that bit was OK.
Have fun, until a new screen format comes along.........
This little game is f***ng addicting!
Thanks a lot!
Keep up the good work!

GreenOmnia,
This program will run on 480x800 devices as marcelvanblankers above can confirm. The problem may be that you still have the old version of 5x5 active in your phone.
On a PC you can run multiple versions of Word, Excel etc. until you run out of memory. Under WM only one version of any program is allowed to run at any one time. When a program starts it looks for the same named process. If it finds it it, it activates that copy, and then kills itself. Later versions of WM may correct this, but earlier programs still run to these rules. If you load a new version of the program to your phone and have the old version still active in memory, when you run the new one you only reactivate the old one.
Listen up everybody! Think about the above paragraph. If you have understood it, that is a real WM pearl of wisdom!
To fix the problem, if your version of WM has Task Manager, use that to kill the running version of 5x5, or use Settings->System->Memory->Running Programs and then select 5x5 and end it. Delete all versions of 5x5 from your phone, then reload the new version from the top post in this thread and retry it.
If all this still doesn't work, I will post a test program to run on your device that reports the actual size of the client area window.
We'll take it from there.
Who remembers those old handheld games with monochrome lcds?
Here's a Windows Mobile version of a Russian version of the game.
The game is simple, all you have to do is catch the eggs as they fall.
The bunny that shows up on the screen is on your side, you will only lose half a point if you drop an egg, otherwise you lose a life.
You have 3 lives to keep you going, and if you make it to 200 or 500 points you lost lives will be given back to you.
See how many you can catch and don't forget that the eggs start falling faster as you keep playing.
THIS GAME REQUIRES OPENGL
UPDATE v1.1
Added WVGA and WQVGA Support
Update v1.2
Minor fixes, reported to work much better
Supported Resolutions: VGA (Tested), QVGA (Should Work), WVGA and WQVGA (Awaiting confirmation)
For those of you that have problems running the game, install the attached libGSES_CM.cab file.
nice & funny. quite nostaligic.
I like it

found out my problem no OpenGL
did it work once you installed the opengl file? it should
No it still froze and made my TF3D crash and just appeared as a white screen and no soft resets or anything fixed it so i had to do a hard reset to reinstall the rom lol....oh well....and then to make matters worse I left my phone at work in the bathroom and can't get it until 10am...4 hours to go
doesn't sound like Eggs would have done that... it's just a small app and does absolutely no system changes of any kind...

Yea I know it was weird, the TF3D was still there and I could switch the different screens but it was white and I would see a few words or a number.. It all happened when I put the OpenGL into my Windows Directory
tried it on my Xda Flame and it doesnt work..
gives errors like: Eggs.frmGame.InitGL()
like most other opengl apps for Diamond
WVGA and VGA error
I tried running it on my Sharp S01SH. I get:
MissingMethodException
Can't find PInvoke DLL 'libgles_cm.dll'.
at OpenGLES.egl.GetDisplay (EGLNativeDisplayType display_id)
at Eggs.frmGame.InitGL()
at Eggs.frmGame..ctor()
at Eggs.Program.Main()
Tested it on my other device, W-ZERO3 (VGA) and get the same error.
Too bad. I remember playing this game when I was 13 or 14.
I've attached opengl cab file, try to run that and let me know if it works. thanks
WVGA error
Hi, I installed OpenGL. I actually first placed the DLL file available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=525315 directly in the Windows directory. The game returned the same error as above.
Then I installed your CAB. The game now starts but loads in portrait mode with the controls badly positioned. When I try switching to landscape, the screen becomes a real mess. Will try on the VGA device and post report in a while.
VGA error
Tried it on the VGA device as well.
Game seems to load normally - at least buttons are where supposed. However, when I press Start the buttons disappear and nothing happens. After I minimize the program and then return to it, I get some error with a loooong description. Here's the beginning of it:
InvalidOperationException
at System.Media.Waveparser.CheckNativeError (Int32 error)
at System.Media.WaveParser.Play (Boolean synchronously, Boolean looping)
at System.Media.SoundPlayer.doPlay (Boolean synchronously, Boolean looping)
at Eggs.Egg..ctor()
................
Hope this helps your development!
Oh, forgot to add, I get the same error on the WVGA device after a couple attempts to switch the screen from landscape to portrait and back.
Juts tried it on a stock Touch Pro 2 with .Net 3.5 loaded and it works without a problem. It's not full screen but otherwise it's fine
I cannot start the game, but start button is pushable and nothing happens
.NET CF
On my Diamond i've got a problem with .NET CF
I just installed .NET CF 3.5 without success- which version do I need?
.net 3.5 should work, what errors are you getting?
