remote access (nfs?) sdcard? could this be possible on rooted phone? - Hero, G2 Touch General

Does anyone know if there's a way to share /sdcard over a home network? Being able to mount and access it from my laptop would be awesome!

[Q] Mount Transformer as external storage like a phone?

Is it possible to mount it as an external storage just as an android phone does? On Windows you have to install the driver and it shows up. On my Mac it doesn't and just charges. Also can I mount the sdcard along with internal storage?
Also is there a way to mount my x10 as storage on the Transformer? When I plug into the USB port on the dock, I press mount on my phone but it does nothing while regular USB flash drives work just fine.
For Mac just download this http://www.android.com/filetransfer/. Works perfectly, allowing you to access your storage.

Cifs shared files via USB storage

Hi everybody,
I am having troubles getting files from PC to my TV.
I would love to have my PC music listed on my android device when connected to TV as mass storage.
I managed to mount PC folders to ANDROID using CifsManager. It works like a charm.
I wanna use it on my TV though and the problem is that when I connect my phone to TV the sdcard gets unmounted from the phone (when i mount PC folder directly into sdcard folder, it doesnt work)
Is there is any workaround? For example is it possible to set my mounted folders as external usb storage instead of /mnt/sdcard or somehow disable sdcard unmounting while connected to pc/tv?
Thanks
Jan
Noone knows?
have you tried to change cifs manager's mount point to /mnt/cifs?
you may need to change permissions on your filesystem (dangerous) tho...

Access phnone / data without display?

Hi,
unfortunatly I destroyed the display of my phone. The phone itself is still working I just cannot see anything.
Is there any way to do a backup and/or access the data on the internal sd?
USB is working for confirmation via the display before the usb drive can be mounted...
any idea?
Nobody any idea?
If you know how to boot into Recovery it could be possible via ADB I think .

[Q] Nexus 4 as Mass Storage Device.

Hello folks!
So the question is as the topic says, Is it possible?
I've searched over the internet but cannot find a specific answer.
i think some roms may have that feature, cyanogen, i never found a solution since its the internal storage not micro sd card, im not sure whats the format,i found it was better to have a server to transfer data
From what I recall it's not possible due to a hardware limitation... I could be wrong, but I haven't seen it available on any of the ROMs I've tried.

No.
The closest way you're going to get beside MTP is to use Samba share. Either share a folder over the network on your machine, then use ES File Explorer, go to Network -> LAN and scan for your machine. Or with root, use SambaDroid to share your phone's storage and access to it from your PC. The transfer is going to be slow, but its still easier to manage files compared to MTP.
If you don't mind command lines, there is adbsync: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1898358
Hi, i did a walk around.. i connect the device in PTP mode.. then I copy files from the PC to the pictures folder of my phone, then i manage files with internal file manager and i move them wherever I want.. Same thing to copy files out of the mobile..

[Q] can't mount sdcard via USB to PC

I am updated to OTA 4.4.2, running custom recovery.
While trying to get connected in a different mode, I unchecked BOTH of the mount options (media, camera), and now I can't mount the N10 when I connect to PC, AND I don't get those options anymore.
What can I do to restore those options/make N10 mount to PC?
I would love to be able to upload new ROMs...
Thanks!
