Help!! Error 260

I just tried to install Rom v2.00.02 PV for HTC Artemis ( Crossbow Style ) on my htc p3300 and the phone doesn't start. Them i tried to go to the bootloader and restore to the original rom but when i try the program say that "Error 260 : Update error" " The update utility cannot connect to your pda phone...."
I dont know what to do.
My original rom is :HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP

I just soved the problem. I was using Windows Vista and it was unable to connect to the pda in bootloader screen. I tried'it in windows XP and voilá the pda came back to life.

I had the same issue with mine, except it worked when i flashed it to mobile 6 but after it sucked

Vista and Upgrading bootloader

So got my Dopod 838pro running windows mobile 5 and will upgrade it to windows mobile6 with any luck, at the moment im trying to upgrade the boot loader to SPL (Bootloader) version 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7) and im following this very handy guide http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27
however i get to the very end where its supposed to flash the new boot loader and it sits there for a while until the updater utility comes back with ERROR [260] Update Error.
Which informs me that i should check to see if the phone is connected to the computer via usb, which it is.
It must connect to the phone cause it actually starts the process of trying to update the boot loader, i see it on my phone. It goes to a red, green and blue screen. Which says:
Herm1000
IPL-SSPL by Des
Herm100
SPL-1.09.ds
USB
The only option i have here is to press exit on the updater utility, and start again.
Nothing else happends after this.
Im running Windows Vista 64bit, have also tryed this guide

Still no solution.
Currently i have:
IPL 1.01
SPL 1.06
Have also restarted my computer in between trying different things.
Anyone ever had this problem or know a fix?

error 260 is an open port error. try a different usb port, disable antivirus and firewalls, or if avaiable try on a different pc, xp if possible.

I tried a differeny USB port on my vista machine and that didnt work. I also closed absolutely everything and that didnt work either.

hopefully somebody can help.. have an 02 Orbit currenty will only go into bootloader mode. IPL 1.25.0001 SPL 1.11.0000 and has RUU in top right corner. Most times when plug USB into sytem USB will come up bottom left corner
Tried flashing various Roms from standard 02 - lastest anja_ diamondsty v01 cooked. it starts the download but everytime an error notice comes up... The update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer update utillity ... any ideas?

Try flashing a different ROM or try re-downloading the one you want to use. THe IPL and SPL seem fine on your phone.

That is the challenge ... the error message comes up when trying to install any ROM

cause i got the same...my artemis is connected to my pc with Bootloader/USB-Connection,started the Update Utility(as I did it many,many times before^^without any problem) and after it verified the Information on my phone,
it brought this error 200lease get a newer update utility...
Why does it do that?? A few hours before it worked great and now? Every ROM,Artemis Touch 4.02,B&B4.3,BB5,Artemis Diamond,even the USPL,has now this error!
By this moment, it looks like I'm unable to put any ROM on my Artemis...
Please,can you help me to fix this problem?

Got the original o2 rom on the pc from my friend, with this connection(o2rom,other PC) it worked...for now...because after starting my artemis i wanted to get my old Artemis Touch 4.02, so i run USPL but after 100 % it brought the error 270...

i have a p3300 ( spv m650) phone is dead.. not power on.. only goes to bootloader mode..when i try to upgrade it gives error on percent 3..
what can be problem..? what is the mistake..? whan is the way for upgrading htc artemis..?

U should flash your devices official rom.

How to flash back to the original ROM?

I have the solution.
Are you using Windows Vista or XP. In Vista, there are problems while upgrading rom. When I was trying to upgrade the Rom in Windows Vista, It stopped the the upgrading at 3%, but then I read a post and thought to upgrade in Windows XP. It was alright.
The thing left is that your mobile does not switches on, you can see this post.

And this one is for your bricked device.
As your device is bricked s you should enter the bootloader by pressing the Voice Speed Dial Button and soft Reset and dont forget to do this in Windows XP.

problem with ipaq rw6815

Hello,
I was trying to flash my rw6815 with win6.1 (NHOCBANME version) and everything was going nice and smoothly. i downgraded rom (from 1.05 to 1.01)..system is restarted and im at the point where i should install win 6.1. BUT!
I cant synchronize device and my computer! until that point everything was going acording to plan! when i unplug and plug back my device..nothing happens! i tryed to reinstal active sync! nothing! tryed all that on diferent computer! nothing!tryed newer (4.2, 4.5) and older versions (3.x) NOTHING! basicly im stuck with 1.01 rom..and in the middle of proces
Can someone please help?
i know that my last chance is to install wm6 over card reader but i dont have it!
