Well to explain my problem. I had the RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID flashed onto my O2 XDA Neo. No problems, but sometimes I couldn't go back to desktop because "programms" didn't want to close. So I went to look for a dutch firmware. I found one and tried it. It didn't work, but my XDA Neo was already at 1% and didn't go further. So I pulled the cable out of the telephone. Now it doens't pass the red, green, blue screen when starting the phone. Hard reset doens't help eather. Wenn I connect it to the computer, activesync says "not connected".
On the screen it says:
RUU
IPL 2.15.0001
SPL 2.15.0001
Please help me out, because I really don't know what to do anymore
Encountered your case before while trying to downgrade with no success.
I suggest you try to turn back to dopod wwe rom and install it again before further attempts to brick your device.
Active sync tells it's not connected, that's normal because you connect a device which has no rom now.
You should see "USB" at the bottom of the screen once connecting to PC. Then start the rom update.
It will try to discover what's in your pda and will report you "nothing", which is logic. Click update and go. It should proceed...

Thank you so much! I reflashed my old rom, and the device works fine again. But is it not possible to run an older rom? I would like to have the dutch version.
If your device is Sim unlocked, you may try the famous specific rom availIable at:

This rom is for downgrading in a first step and cid unlocking in the second step exclusively and not for continous use . Once these two task are done, you can install any ROM you want.
Reminder: You can not install other language without CID unlocking.

It is not true. You can install any language ROM using NoVendorID patched reflashing utility.
Yes and no!
If the ROM to write is never "patched rom update utility" will bypass the CID check step and continue to install.
But it the new rom is older (ie 2.09 to write over 2.13) problems start there and you get an error in most cases. In that case we need to downgrade.
I've faced and practiced both cases.

After some days a freeze and soft reset, I made a hard reset, and re-use the upgrade soft ware.
Now its completly block on the boot page with HTC.
I use RUU(in( Artemis_touch_1.0_WWE_rapid) in the Bootloader but it run but after 3% : error 270
If a use a newer RUU ( Release_Aje_fr_1.90Full_YuanYuan) : error 260
please help me I completly lost !

I had almost the same problem. I intented to change my ROM with an WM6 but it faild and the PDA is some kind dead it freezes in the boot screen. is there some tool to change the rom to an original HTC rom or thre is no help. I hope somebady can help me. the version of the ROM that apears on the screen is:

to everybody who is stuck at HTC screen. The only,and i mean the ONLY way to fix this is to find the original rom for your provider !!! belive me,i`ve tried every possible other way.
SD Card Flashing wont work coz your devices are probably CID Locked,so it goes only to 3% flashing and restarts.Finally I found original o2 ROM (German) and it worked like a charm Even the original o2 (English) ROM did NOT work,it had to be the German one,coz probably the device came with German ROM originally !!!.
So my suggestion is,stop trying to flash it with different ROM`s and spend some time finding original ROM from your provider and it has to be the same language as your provider. even if it`s WM6 and your device was originally was WM5,as long as its from your provider and same language it should flash with no problem.I spent 2 weeks to find this out ))

I have the same problem and I've come to believe that this is the only solution. Just one thing: I didn't back up ROM before I tried to flash (talk about a noob mistake).
So, I ask, I plead, I beg... can anyone tell me where to get an original Orange France ROM for the Artemis (SPV M650)?
To my knowlegde you cant backup the rom from your device. whenever you change your rom, use the USPL tool. It is a golden rule until something better is made.
Here are some tips:
First make sure you have a original factory rom from your provider/brand/etc.
Check with a soft reset if code: SPL 1.11000 appears on the the boot screen. (then it is CID unlocked) Any other number and it is locked so you have to USPL first before you change to any custom rom.
If you flash a factory rom then the SPL resets to a non SPL 1.1100 number again. Use USPL to CID unlock again.
Also avoid Vista (especially 64bit) to use the USPL tool. Do it on a windows XP machine. Also there reports of glitches in the usb connection and active sync when doing upgrades or USPL. So keep you system as clean as possible. Dont use a USB hub and disconnect any other usb devices just to make sure.
Also remove your SD / SDHC card before doing a upgrade.
Sometimes the new rom misses some stuff when flashing. When this happens just flash the rom again. But first make sure if its still CID unlocked by soft reseting and check if SPL 1.1100 else use USPL first.
Even if you did all that, there still can be things that can go wrong. So if you absolutely confident to do a custom rom then do it. Otherwise use original upgrades from your provider

The problem:
use USPL to get rid of the CID....count goes up to 100% screen shows black with green text, then pops to white. I need to do a soft reset to get it running again.
Then i use ROM Update Utility to update my p3300....and it still keeps hanging on 3%....damn. i get mad...!! Have read almost all here online...no virusscanner, no firewall....I use win XP.
i even tried without memory card and phone card....and nothing seems to work.......

I've just got back my P3300 from repair, they changed the main board. With the previous main board I was able to upgrade the device and I was using the B&B versions.
But with this new board I'm not able to upgade the SPL. When I try to upgade the device after and start the start_uspl .exe the 10...20... ....100 my device become an interresting "blue screen" status and only the reset help to get out from this status. If I start the RomUpdateUtility.exe after the upgrade I got the error message #270

This is not the solution for the problem. I've tried it:
Plug in USB cable. Hold voice recorder button and press reset button. Bootloader will appear (Three color stripes). Then you may flash up ROM. I tried exactly the way you described in the USPL_manual and everything went well till I got to a stage where I was asked to click the update button which I did. After then there was a window which showed "updating from current version to version 9.99". I was confused at this point but clicked "continue" and after this stage I got an error message and there was no longer a connection bw my PDA and my computer.

first I would like to thank you for goooood job to many people here !
Back to my problem. I have HTC Artemis (T-Mobile MDA Compact III), OS WM6 T-Mobile Czech version.
I ran start_uspl.exe on my computer. The part in DOS based screen seems to finish everytime OK, but finally the connection with PC is lost. Therefore when the PDA Phone ROM Update Utility starts cheking version the error "lost connection with PC" appears . PDA stay in "black screen" mode and only hard reset start it again as usual.
Does anybody have the same problem? Any idea, how to solve it ?

When the screen goes white, don't restart. Just start flashing to the new ROM. Worked for me
Unfortunately it not a white screen, it a black one, connenction lost with the PC, and only the reset PDA helps to restart the unit again....

Same situation as above. Depending on the Artemis, the screen might go white or black. Just don't freak out and keep on flashing the USPL. It WILL work and then reboot. Then you can flash the actual ROM you want.
Hello from an absolut newbie trying his first upgrade,
And I have just experienced the same problem than lenocs.
I have run start_uspl.exe, but when the screen is suposed to become white or dark, it becomes dark and the artemis is in fact totally off and connection is lost.
Anyway I supossed that it was because the scrren got black and I tried to run the update utility, but I´ve got an error (the terminal is disconnected or similar) and nothing happens.
I have had to soft reset the terminal and fortunatelly it seems that I still have my previous ROM and it seems that it works. But, do you know if there could be some "side effect" because the first step of start_uspl script?
Anyway I would like to move to WM6, so, any suggestion would be really appreciated.

As I've said, I'm a newbie, so I was just woried because I thought I had "bricked" my new atemis.
How can I know now the USPL number?
Anyway I tried the star_uspl again (I'm a crazy newbie) and it failed. The artemis went off almost inmediately.

solved ... at least for me
I think the problem is in SPL version 3.13 (or maybe anyone newer than 1.11).
Try different Artemis USPL - for me worked version from this page:

It's very confusional, because file sizes and also dates are the same as in unfunctional version, but this one worked.

I bought a 8gb card the week before, so I needed to update the rom in order to have my new SDHC working. But whn I was trying to update the rom, through UPSL 1.1, I had an error. This was the first time I had an error because I have modified the room many times before. My error was about a CMD.EXE issue, something like Error code line 26 "can´t spawn cmd.exe" so I was not able to change my rom. What I did was to copy CMD.EXE from Windows/System32 and put in the same folder where I had the start_uspl file, and finally works!
Do not ask me why, but this was the only way I could make works the update process.
Just try.

any way to upgrade was wrong ->> error 270
My good way was:
1. Downgrade to WM5 - original shipped ROM 1.12.405.1(link found on Wiki pages)
2. Under WM5 run USPL to unlock CID (now without any errors)
3. Final STEP - Upgrade to new ROM Artemis Touch 3.01 (without any errors by upgrade)

Now my Artemis seems to be OK.
I ran USPL with storage card inside the device...
no problem
switch SD card back to 2GB or smaller before USPL

for me USPL did not work with my SDHC 8GB card but then I switched back to my previous 2GB SD card and then it works.
Perhaps the SDHC driver blocks USPL in some way.

i have been trying for 3 months
once i have upgraded my artemis to wm 6.0 everything seemed to be OK for two days... then the screen started to go black when i restart... şi downgraded to 5.0 but nothing changed... when i remove battery for a while, my arte works... when i try to do anything with it, the screen slowly goes black as if it is broken... please DO HELP ME! i am going to go mad... i have a new iphone, ihave i kaiser as well... but i miss my artemis very much...

The issue that happens to me is that I used USPL for upgrading to WM6 and worked, but now for the Touchflo it does not. Tried with all USB ports, tried with different computers and no good news.
The USPL msdos screen indicates that there is no connection at all in all percentage levels, then it bocomes dark and the 260 error whne installing the rom.

The only way to solve it is to remove the batterie during 30 min., then put it back and pray...
Then, for no reason, the screen shut down, a few minutes or days after
I've upgrade from WM5 to WM6 with the original Rom of HTC, it seems a little more stable but it shut down every 2 days when i'm lucky
Hi I have aquired a lovely wing which looks like new - It has a problem !!
I need to upgrade the ROM as its stuck
I have attempted to load a few different ROMS and I put it into bootloader mode
IPL 1.11.0001
SPL 1.11.0001
Shows up on the tri color screen
I then attempt to load the rom and it goes all the way to load 1% or so then an error mesage comes up "Error 300 - Invalid update tool " This update utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone Please get newer update utility"
I have read the pages here extensively and cant seem to get an answer
Can I please respectfully ask for some assistance with this problem I cant wait to get this phone working ?

It seems like you didn´t read extensively like you said...
Flashing custom Roms without Hard-spl or Uspl can´t work.
If you tried to Hard-spl your phone search for "goldcard"
If not get an official Wm6 Rom from your provider.
When it´s done read this:

Radio ROM curropted,
First of all
Try restoring factory settings.
1) PUSH AND HOLD the (-) and (-) buttons over the (ok) and (windows) buttons, then press and hold RESET button.
2) Release reset button. but keep (-) and (-) held.
3) A message will appear and tells you to press SEND to restore factory defaults, SEND = GREEN TEL BUTTON.
4) Press it and wait, see what will happen after, maybe once it's finished you will need a soft reset, I don't remember...
Second Try possibility -if the above will not work-
Try with flashing a new full official ROM
it might be a problem as probably you do not have USPL unlocked!
so your SPL should still be looked to 3,13 or similar.
it would give you a DEVICE ERROR if you update it, and stop at 3%.
if SPL is 1.11 so that's fine, SPL is unlocked.
just enter bootloader and flash any complete (OS + RADIO) Rom, even non factory rom.
if SPL is locked you can save your tel just trying to update and original factory rom.
example: T-Mobile UK, T-Mobile Germany, T-Mobile ....
Note that even if they are all T-Mobile they are different! (Germany is different than UK, and so...)
Desperate last choise
If all the above did not solve,
probably your Radio ROM is curropted and in a bad sector,
use MTTY tool and comands to do a low level format, and remove any residual rom tack.
Do not clean bootloader, you will need it for the new re-flash
Then enter bootloader and flash an official factory rom.
It took me 6,30 hours to save my last Artemis, wish you a quicker solution, so good luck!

...probably a problem is creating a folder with the name root, "root folder" means on your sd-card without any folders... as far as i know...

SPL still Locked!
two solutions:
1) USPL (proper one) lately I foundout the official one on the official form was giving me some update errors, I think the file is curropted, and if startuspl.exe does not run till 100%, reboot and start the RUU by itself, it wouldn't work if you maually start the RUU once the original launched after USPL gaves the error.
I'm attaching another USPL try this other one...
2) if your pc does not see the PPC for USPL, try not other WWE roms, it should be for your ARTEXXXX, ther is ARTE100, ARTE110, ARTE1000, ARTE200 ...
try more than one till you'll get the 100% rom update.
Radio Only will not work, you are in bootloader, you have an OS problem! if it gives you the "windows mobile image" and stops there, so it's just the radio, else it's the OS and probably the radio!
do a full ROM updt, official WWE have both radio and OS.
I wish for you that your PPC doesn't stop at Windows Mobile Image (the one after boot image), I have thrown away a P3600 in this way!!! Radio was so curropted that I could not fix it anyway, nither MTTY, required a CIP programming, but I'm not good at...

It surprised me the first time I got a 270, try the attached uspl, I got that from the rapidshare, scanned with norton 2010 and is clean, tested today on a german T-Mobile ARTE100 and it worked (now it speaks french!).

I have tried everything on my T-Mobiel MDA Vario 3.
SSPL-KAIS.exe
JumpSPL 156, 193 and 194
pressing of any keys will not forward me into the bootloader
on my pda is IPL and SPL 3.15
I have also tried HardSPL 329 and 356, no success.
the only way to get into the bootloader is when starting KaiserCustomerRUU.exe, but no ROM is getting installed. I always receive an error 270 file defect. but this is not correct, as I have tested 3 or 4 different files.
does anybody have an idea?

Hi!
Check hardware buttons,maybe one of them is broken,that's why you can't put your device in bootloader.
Make a Goldcard (search) and flash the Kaiser with Goldcard inside.It will revive your device.
