Has anyone managed to do this? I have tried Personlizer 3.1 which does work but it absolutely drains the hell out of the battery. Just changing the registry doesn't last long. So has anyone else found a better solution or is this something that just can't be done?
[See post 5]
Personalizer drains battery because it constantly needs to update the reg key, and if you change the reg key manually it will go back to the default one within seconds. So I guess no solution.
I'm using OpMon

Doesn't seem to be a big drain at all.

How is it during roaming?
Shows the programm the name of the roaming operator or the cusomized name?
Solution found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577928 (post 2), works very well.

all of a sudden voicecommand.exe is using all resources. I've only done two reg tweaks since the problem. one was the battery drain reg hack and the other was the fix for voice command in wm6. I think its the battery drain one because after the voice command tweak everything worked fine. if anyone else is experiencing this please report it.
Yes, most likely it's the " Battery drain SOLVED! " that's the problem. At least for me and several of my other 8125's it was the problem. A little pretentious perhaps, at least where I come from (that would be the land of accountability)
Those of us that have our devices tweaked to put IE history, etc on the SC will have problems with such a reg edit.
I've found a perhaps better solution but I'm not going to say that it's going to make your life better
(I THINK that it's helped me, waiting on input from others)

Ahh, it's not THAT bad ... beta testing for Faria and Molski I got used to it. Now that I'm creating my own ROMs I flash or hard reset even more it seems (if that's possible)
btw, I put those reg settings in my ROM I created yesterday and my battery seems quite happy... but as I said earlier, YMMV..
Will this work on WM6 also or is it just slated for WM5?

I run my own custom WM6 ROM so yes it does. Actually it's not OS dependent.
btw, this has noticeably increased my battery life. Yesterday, in about 8 hours, I dropped to 85% from 100%.
I agree, this seems to really help. When I put the WM6 MBE ROM on my phone, I was seeing 15% - 25% decrease in the battery overnight (so the phone just sitting idle, no calls or anything). After putting this cab on for the tweak, I now only see about 2% decrease overnight for the last few nights. Daytime battery life is significantly better also (but then I'm constantly hooking up to the USB so I can't say for sure how much better).
Thanks!
I applied these changes today when my battery was at 66%. I have push E-Mail on all the time as a rule. After four hours with five calls lasting a total of 40 minutes I am down to 29%. Any thoughts ?
I am using BatteryStatus but have the overclocking disabled right now.
My battey is aweful
How does this thing work? I downloaded the CABS and installed...now what? Do I personally change the Reg or did those CABS do it?
i found this last night on ppcgeek and it works great. My WIFI is about 40% faster. I think it needs to be tested for power drain.
Here is a great tweak that speeds up your Wi-Fi.. It works by enabling the “g mode” of your device’s WLAN card (disabled by default on most devices). This hack has proven to improve Wi-Fi speeds by 3 times..
Iinstall the attached .CAB to the device, then soft reset. It will change the value of dot11SupportedRateMaskG from the default 4 (1 in some cases) to 8 inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS.
Note: Some devices don't have that structure in the registry. If it's your case, our cab will create it automatically.
I do not take credit for the creation of this.. I merely happened to find this at the site linked above and thought to post it here..

I looked on my HD and couldn't find it? How do you make the adjustment?
So Kev, your WiFi was 11Mbit before? My THD does not have this registry entry, but a similar one
....TNETW12511/Parms/Wireless
When I change the valume of Wireless to 8 (from 1) it shows 54Mbit speed after Softreset, but I forgot to check the speed before the change.
WiFi seems to run faster, but...maybe I am dreaming...
In order to change such values you need a registry editor, there is a plugin one built into Resco Explorer for example.
What is with the battery? Does it drain (much) faster?

my HD also has this registry string and by default it's 8... however i'm using dutty's 1.7 rom so maybe he cooked that reg in his rom or all 1.21.* roms have that reg string...

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
After installing s2u2 if i wake up the phone by pushing the power button sometimes there's a delay before the phone wakes up and the s2u2 screen appears. Using the latest s2u2. I hope someone has a solution cuz i really like this program but cannot do with the lag.
S2U2 V1.60 problem
Hi mordecai83,
I also facing the same problem as you do with S2U2 V1.60 with my Jade, i used to installed the later version which is V1.62, but the problems remains.
I get to know from a S2U2 forum telling that different S2U2 versions may influence on the compatibilities with different devices..
Can anyone please kindly advise?
Thank you.
seems like we're alone on this. Tried about every setting in s2u2 but no luck. I think we'll have to wait for the next update maybe it fixes it. In the meantime i'm using throttlelock. It's not that sofisticated as s2u2 but does the job and the current version is free.

I also had this problem, uninstalled now as too slow. Is ThrottleLock immediate response?
Cheers
I'm also running S2U2 on my Jade. Can't say I notice the lag problem. There's an option setting "On wake up, delay (ms) start of S2U2". I've set this to OFF, which helps.
I have a different problem. I don't seem to be able to find how to make a list of programs where S2U2 doesn't over-ride. Unless I switch S2U2 off, it will turn the phone off in ANY program (including TomTom) after the specified time. Any ideas?
Woolly.
Not positive but think you have to enter into registry, I am sure the help on website tells you how.

i have the same problem!! leg on device start with S2u2, no idea how to speed it up because it's a real nasty big leg!! almost 6s and sometimes it starts perfect right away?!?!
I have the same problem but only after firmware update to new stock rom
Just to confirm since I installed a new rom I'm having the same problem.
Regards, ojessie
Im on the new stock rom too. so i guess thats what we all have in common. maybe a next version of S2U2 will fix this.
battery life
I just started a few days ago using s2u2 and I have the feeling that the battery life goes down quite a lot. Any body else the same experience?
cheers and have a nice day,
S.
I have the same problem with new official rom. Maybe I should switch to ThrottleLock for a while
I have no problem with this
running perfectly
Try using some Registry Tweaks from this attachment
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3622513#post3622513
Use KeylockOFF ( you can wake up Jade with all HardButtons )
and WakeupSMS ( fix the bug when an sms arrives and does not give any notice )
Never had a problem with my Jade and S2U2
Hi,
having the same delay problem starting with ROM 2.32.
Before everything was fine.
Playing with the settings, I discovered that the delay does not happen when s2u2 setting "lock on wakeup" is OFF (first entry I think).
Hoping for a fix in the future.
i live in New York have the Time Set to Eastern US i just recently started getting my Incoming SMS/TEXT at a different time meaning for Example: right now is 11:00AM anyone who sends me a Text/sms the time on their incoming text/sms says 7:00AM.. and i notice it only happen with people who are on a different Network... i am on T-mobile so if i get a text from, Sprint, At&t or Verizon it has the time difference.. does anyone have or can fix this Issue.

Same over here...how you solve it?
1/ Go to HKLM / SOFTWARE / OEM / PhoneSetting
2/ Add DWORD "TrustTimeZoneField"
3/ valeur = 0
4/Soft reset
escuz my english is very bad
I did This :-D
Use Total Commander or any other Registry Editor
1. Go to HKLM / SOFTWARE / OEM / PhoneSetting/ +Add Value+
2. Add DWORD "TrustTimeZoneField"
3. valeur = 0
4. Soft reset
cab
Here is a cab that changes that value. It's posted somewhere in this forum.
now am getting a 5 mins Time difference from people who are on a Different Newtwork.. i will try the CAB and see if that works...

I get a 2 minute time difference, tried doing that, but still no joy.
Help please!!!!
Note: I have a Leo, but this thread was linked into a thread in there, and sounds like the exact same problem so hopefully a fix for this will work for me!
i had the same problem
for a quick fix just change ur time zone to LONDON, Dublin which is GMT 0.
maybe you were using a UK rom or something
could it be that the people with 5 minute time difference have their clock 5 minutes out? and the people with 2 minutes differences have their HD2 clock 2 minutes out from the actual time... just a thought.
I'm having a similar issue.
Message I have sent have the correct time (I view sms in threaded view) but messages I have received display only the date. They used to all show time before I went on vacation.
I tried the CAB and the issue persists. Any idealios?

Hi Guys,
I've been doing a bit of research about removing the T-Mobile (or any) operator name from my handset/homescreen etc..and have found a number of different apps that can do this. For example Personalizer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359563
which seems to work well exept that it seems to be draining my battery heavily as I beleive that it is an 'always-on' app.
Therefore I've removed it and am looking to do a similar thing via a reg-tweak so as not to need anything running in the background. Before I get flamed for posting an often asked question, I have searched a few other threads for other handsets that have similar registry files as the HD2 and have found some similarites but nothing has worked yet:
http://forum.treonauts.com/palm-smartphones/treo-750/8695-treo-750-registry-tricks-tips-2.html
I've found the CarrierName string in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RIL folder but altering it with the mobile network code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code), doesn't seem to have any effect.
I'm on T-Mobile UK and I beleive my network code is 23034 but I just need to know where to use it and/or if the function is available to me with this phone yet? If anyone can shed any light and or knows a way of doing it without installing any potentially battery draining software apps, it would be much appreciated.
Happy New Year!!

I found my battery draining a lot quicker with it installed. So you use it yourself and haven't had any problems? Either way, if there was just a reg-tweak I could do myself without installing anything, that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks

I have used it before and have not noticed a differnce in battery life.
The REG key it changes every startup is:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\"Current Operator Name"
Change it to whatever you like but be aware it changes back every soft reset, hense why personalizer runs at every startup.

I use the awesome tweak from MysticGenius (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577928) and it works fine for me.
Oh and your carrier string value should be 23430 , have no idea how to get rid of the 3G infront of the Scuderia Ferrari though

Yes 23430, I had it right but wrote it wrong I tried MysticGenius's tweak already but couldn't find the 'OperatorNames' file. I tried altering CarrierName and also tried making my own string but it made no difference. What did you change xavierdemon?
Thanks
All I have in the Reg is:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames
And inside that I have a string value "23415"="Scuderia Ferrari" that's all. Obviously for you it would be "23430"="Whatever text you want"
HTH
No Joy
Ok Xavier,
I did that but no luck unfortunately. I created an OperatorNames file because it didn't exist in the RIL folder and put:
''23430''=''My Message''
as the string, but there was no change at all. I rebooted and tried again but still no difference. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I don't know what to suggest except maybe leaving a message on MysticGenius' tweak post and see if he knows why it's not working for you. Or see if someone can build a CAB for you to input the reg entires, I did try to have a go myself at making the CAB but it's not working at all.
